    Luxury Hotel

I stayed on a weekday, but perhaps due to the Lunar New Year, there were quite a few international guests and it felt fairly lively. Unlike many of today’s foreign-owned luxury Hotels, the space, interior design, and furnishings are used in a very lavish way. It does feel a bit dated, but if you see it as antique charm, you can enjoy an elegant stay with a strong sense of satisfaction. I also used the nearby facility called “Huis Ten Bosch Onsen,” with Shuttle Service by bus. It was available with payment of only the Hot Spring Tax, and the Facility itself was clean and nice. Since it can be used by non-Hotel guests as well, there were many people, but it’s spacious so I don’t think it often feels too crowded to use comfortably. The breakfast buffet features ingredients from Nagasaki and Kyushu, but it didn’t feel as extravagant as you might expect from Huis Ten Bosch’s top-tier Hotel. That said, there aren’t really any nearby places for breakfast, and I didn’t have any major complaints worth noting—so choosing a plan with breakfast doesn’t feel like a bad deal. Due to time constraints I couldn’t use the cruiser check-in/check-out service, but it was a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

Hotel Europe Huis Ten Bosch (1 Night, 2 Days)

Stayed one night at Hotel Europe, Huis Ten Bosch. For convenience, I took the direct airport shuttle from Nagasaki Airport to the hotel, but in hindsight it might have felt more special to get off at the Huis Ten Bosch entrance and check in via the Welcome Cruise. The hotel’s hospitality was excellent. All the staff were smiling, and I had a wonderful time. I also enjoyed cake at Anchors Lounge, along with live folk guitar and piano performances. The calm, adult atmosphere was fantastic. It seems there may have been an evening concert as well—I would have loved to attend, so I would have appreciated being informed about it. On the other hand, since this is also the breakfast venue, it was very crowded, and honestly the buffet felt a bit overwhelming in that environment. Next time I visit, I’d like to choose the Japanese set breakfast. When you stay here, (1) Early Park-In and (2) a passport for the next day are included, which is really helpful. I also learned after my stay that there is a souvenir delivery service (free delivery of souvenirs purchased within Huis Ten Bosch to your hotel front desk). First-time guests may not notice services like this either, so I’d be happy if these could be communicated more clearly. You can also use the large public bath at Huis Ten Bosch Onsen. Depending on the time of day, it can get quite crowded. The above includes some notes for myself as well. To repeat: Hotel Europe’s hospitality was outstanding. I’d like to stay at this hotel again when I visit Huis Ten Bosch next time—and then I’d like to have dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants too. Since it was my first time at Huis Ten Bosch itself, there were many things I didn’t know how to navigate. After actually visiting this time, I learned a lot. If you’re staying at Hotel Europe, spending about 2 nights and 3 days and taking it slow seems ideal. Thank you very much.

Enjoy Huis Ten Bosch to the fullest!!

I’m giving one star because I didn’t use the Onsen. As for the Facility and amenities, there were a few areas where the age showed and some things felt a bit inconvenient, but it was such a comfortable stay that none of that really mattered. Not only did the service staff greet us with wonderful smiles, but the housekeeping staff’s attitude toward their work was also outstanding. It made me feel that next time I visit Huis Ten Bosch, I would definitely choose Hotel Europe again. For our family, staying at Hotel Europe made our time at Huis Ten Bosch even more enjoyable. Thank you for the great memories.

    I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My stay was even more enjoyable than I expected. The Hotel cruise was a unique experience and truly wonderful. The live performances in the lounge were excellent, and made for an elegant atmosphere. I had a great view from my Room and enjoyed the night scenery as well. I would love to visit again.

An excellent Hotel for a theme park stay.

The Facility is clean and conveniently located. The Hotel had a pleasant scent throughout, and I felt warmly welcomed. I only had breakfast, but it covered the standard offerings you’d expect from a good Hotel, and it was nice to have items like sashimi as well. I think even those who enjoy staying at good Hotels will be satisfied. Since it’s outside the park, going in and out is a bit of a hassle. It can’t really be helped, but I noticed the layout requires a bit of a detour. Also, in this Room there weren’t many power outlets, so it was hard to find places to charge devices.

    It was a reliable Hotel.

For the past decade, I have stayed here several times a year, and even though it had been since January this time, I was warmly welcomed as always, which made me feel at ease. Thank you also for your thoughtful gesture of pre-setting the items I always request in the room. During my stay, I was looking forward to the check-in cruiser but found it fully booked; neither the 3:00 PM ride nor subsequent rides were available. The exclusive cruise for guests was also fully booked days in advance on both days of my stay. Additionally, I was directed to a distant parking lot due to high demand during peak season. However, within the hotel itself, there were no particular inconveniences or disturbances; I enjoyed a pleasant and calm atmosphere throughout my stay. That said, when I stayed again three months later during check-in, being asked "Is this your first time staying with us?" saddened me. Has my usage history been erased? It’s disappointing if so.

    Fun Resort

This was my third visit to Huis Ten Bosch, and this time I enjoyed a relaxing 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Europe. During the stay, both the hotel experience and Huis Ten Bosch attractions were completely stress-free. We were blessed with unseasonably warm weather for January and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful illuminations. The hotel staff always greeted us with smiles, creating a comfortable atmosphere, and we had multiple opportunities to enjoy the cruises. Additionally, breakfast at Kissuitei was absolutely delicious, featuring Multiple Night Stay menus that added variety; we were very satisfied with both the food and ambiance of the restaurant. Unlike seaside or mountain resorts, this destination allows you to feel like a child again—a place I want to visit repeatedly. We are already planning our next trip with our grandchildren!

Fireworks on the boat and champagne service from the morning – simply perfect!

Although the entrance is far, the cruising check-in and stylish presentation were impressive. At night, there was a special venue with a luxurious fireworks display right in front of us despite the cold weather. The morning buffet even included champagne. Guests can enter early as a special privilege, making it a must-stay accommodation when visiting Huis Ten Bosch due to its numerous perks! The Onsen was far and couldn't be used during the cold winter—unfortunate. However, the room's bath sufficed. The amenities were also adorable.

    Due to the busy seas...

Due to the busy season on December 25th, the accommodation cost was slightly higher, but the facility's quality seemed to stand out compared to surrounding hotels. Additionally, the added value of shuttle service after arrival via cruise, convenient access to the park's central area, and a complimentary park admission ticket for the second day were excellent. Furthermore, the staff's attentive and courteous service left a strong impression, making it an overall satisfying stay.

    A wonderful Hotel.

It was a very lovely hotel. While it has an old charm, the quality of the accommodation gives it a sense of elegance and sophistication. The decorations inside were beautiful, especially during the Christmas season. The room was spacious, and the amenities were excellent. All staff members were kind and helpful; they kindly assisted us when we asked about directions to Ureshino Onsen. Thank you very much. We loved the hotel itself so much that we would like to share some suggestions for improvement to make it even better if possible. The accommodation included special benefits such as next-day admission tickets and priority entry from 9 AM, which we thought was great. However, due to peak season crowds, there were too many guests staying at the hotel, resulting in long wait times for attractions between 9–10 AM. In fact, popular attractions had shorter wait times after 10 AM than during this period. It would be wonderful if there could be priority access benefits that allow guests to skip attraction lines entirely or other measures like offering paid (priority) tickets or time-specific tickets to distribute visitors more evenly throughout the day. Additionally, since it was peak season, breakfast was crowded and waiting for meals delayed our entry into Huis Ten Bosch in the morning—leaving little time to relax before heading out—which was disappointing. Perhaps during busy periods only, allowing breakfast vouchers to be used for lunch instead or extending buffet hours until lunchtime could make repeat visits more appealing by reducing stress despite high visitor numbers. We also hope for improvements in check-in waiting times. Standing in line while waiting for check-in lowers excitement levels significantly. Since most people tend to check in around 3–4 PM anyway, perhaps distributing numbered tickets so guests can sit while they wait or using a queue system similar to breakfast lines might help manage this better? There seemed plenty of standing staff assisting with guidance; having them provide explanations might also improve efficiency. This is truly a wonderful hotel where one can experience an extraordinary atmosphere akin to being overseas while still being in Japan—a thrilling escape from everyday life! We shared these thoughts hoping that small interruptions disrupting this magical feeling could be minimized further. Even now it's already an amazing hotel; however, we look forward with great anticipation as it continues evolving into an iconic symbol of Huis Ten Bosch cherished by all forevermore!

    I had a relaxing stay.

This was my second stay. I stayed for two nights during the busiest time of the year, the New Year holidays. The accommodation was quite crowded with guests, but as expected from a traditional hotel like Hotel Europe, their professional service truly stood out. Even though it was a two-night stay, I had no complaints about the service at all. For breakfast, they implemented a system to visualize how many people were waiting in line so that guests could avoid waiting unnecessarily. I had breakfast early in the morning and wasn’t affected by this, but it’s understandable that there might be some crowding during peak times. The only minor inconveniences were the high prices of drinks from vending machines inside the park due to inflation and how far convenience stores outside are from Hotel Europe; however, I knew about these beforehand and should have done some shopping before check-in. I rented a bicycle for six hours and enjoyed an incredibly refreshing Perrier afterward—this experience was truly priceless!

    Every Christmas season,

Every year during the Christmas season, I stay here when visiting Huis Ten Bosch. However, the exterior of the building and room decorations have been deteriorating over the years. This year, it seemed like only the lobby was decorated. It might be due to cost-cutting measures. The breakfast menu hasn’t changed at all; it’s always the same no matter when I visit. On top of that, even the quality of meat seems to have declined. Huis Ten Bosch itself has been gradually returning to its former rundown state compared to how much it had improved a few years ago. The lights in the park are fewer, and its scale feels smaller now. Even though it's not closed yet, shops were shutting down early—something unimaginable at other theme parks. Since there’s no reason to stay here unless visiting Huis Ten Bosch, I hope they make more effort moving forward. The building is quite old overall; perhaps they lack resources for improvements?

    Mother-Daughter Trip

I stayed in a Twin Room with a Private Terrace for a Multiple Night Stay. Since it was just before Christmas, the lobby was beautifully decorated with red roses and poinsettias. While some may comment on its age, the decor is grand and exudes a European charm. The room had very high ceilings, providing an open and spacious feel, and the furniture was solidly built, offering an authentic atmosphere beyond mere appearance. The staff were all incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. I was continuously impressed by the level of service befitting the top-tier hotel within Huis Ten Bosch. Although I only had breakfast during my stay, both the Western-style buffet and room service were excellent—not just in terms of menu but also in tableware and cutlery—making it hard to choose which was better. Every day, I enjoyed watching cruisers pass by from my room—a truly elegant escape from everyday life. I would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    Second stay this year

I stayed here for my birthday in February this year and had such a great experience that I decided to visit again. The room is always clean, and the breakfast is delicious. The staff are always friendly and welcoming with smiles. The shuttle service to the airport, next-day passport, Huis Ten Bosch Onsen service, tickets for the Huis Ten Bosch Revue Theater—there are so many services included that make it very worthwhile. Unfortunately, it rained on the last day, which was a bit disappointing.

    Like Europe

As the name suggests, Hotel Europe truly offers a wonderful atmosphere that feels like traveling to Europe. It was my first time visiting Huis Ten Bosch, and I’m glad I chose this hotel. The room was spacious with a great ambiance. The bathroom was not a unit bath but a separate Japanese-style one with both a bathtub and shower, which was excellent! I didn’t mind that the bathroom wasn’t European-style at all! We stayed for two nights. For breakfast on the first morning, we enjoyed a buffet, while on the second morning, we had room service on our terrace. Since it was late October, I worried it might be too cold to eat outside in the morning; however, the weather was perfect with plenty of sunshine—almost enough to get sunburned! Breakfast on the terrace is simply amazing! We also enjoyed afternoon tea in the lounge while listening to live music—it was absolutely delicious and delightful. In addition, we continued enjoying an evening lounge concert later that day. Another great feature is that if you purchase park tickets for just one day during your stay, you receive complimentary tickets for additional days matching your stay duration. The staff provided excellent service throughout our visit as well. I would love to stay at Hotel Europe again when visiting Huis Ten Bosch in the future!

The Journey of the Winter Wind

I have stayed at Hotel Europe several times, and each time the staff's exceptional service has been remarkable. Once again, I am grateful for their attentive response to my requests. Every staff member greets with a smile and provides excellent service, making my stay consistently pleasant. The Japanese restaurant Kissoitei is one of my favorites, offering an enjoyable dining experience even when dining alone. Recently, instead of arriving by boat, I’ve opted to take a taxi to the back entrance for easier access with less walking. This accommodation always ensures a delightful stay, and I look forward to visiting again next time. Thank you!

I had breakfast at Kissuitei, but the variety of dishes was lacking considering the price.

The number of staff serving at Kissuitei was noticeably insufficient. The dishes served did not match the price and were disappointing. For breakfast the next day, we tried the Western-style option, and there seemed to be more than enough staff available.

    The bathroom is disappointing.

The staff's service was excellent, especially the natural smile and kind response of the female staff, which was very comforting. However, it was disappointing that the bathroom drain was clogged and had to be fixed in the middle of the night, yet there was no apology from the Hotel the next day. Additionally, on the second day, the lid next to the bathtub wasn’t properly secured and kept flipping open, exposing dirty areas which felt unhygienic. Upon checkout, I informed a deputy manager about these issues but only received an insincere "sorry" with excuses. Another disappointment occurred after check-in when I ordered herbal tea at Anchors Lounge while enjoying a concert; it was lukewarm to a point where no color came out and had to be replaced. Similarly, during checkout when ordering a cake set with tea again, it was lukewarm and needed replacement once more. Repeating such incidents raises concerns about whether this is acceptable for a luxury Hotel. Overall though, thanks to the exceptional service by female staff members, my impression remains positive. If visiting Huis Ten Bosch again in future trips—I would still consider staying at this Hotel.

    Enjoyed to the fullest.

As it was my first visit to Huis Ten Bosch, I stayed at the top-tier European classical hotel. With high expectations, everything from check-in on a cruiser, live music, flowers, fragrance, guest room, excellent staff hospitality, to the cruise after check-out was wonderful.

    Disappointing and not as expected.

Disappointing experience. Here is a summary of the reasons: 1. Reserved a room with a terrace, but it was in poor condition and covered in bird droppings, making it unusable. 2. Check-in starts at 3 PM, but the boat check-in also begins at 3 PM... Those wanting to check in via the boat are forced to be 10-20 minutes late. Additionally, for after tickets, only boats after 3:30 PM are available... effectively making check-in start from around 3:40 PM unless you buy a one-day ticket instead. 3. Was informed that due to pipe issues, red water might come out of the tap—though it wasn’t red, the water smelled metallic and was undrinkable; only two bottles of mineral water were provided. 4. Re-entry rules differ depending on which gate you exit from (details forgotten), causing confusion—some gates require stamps while others don’t; apparently guests have to stamp themselves! 5. The room was extremely far away from everything else. 6. No shops available; once the park closes, there’s no food or drink except for room service (including mini-bar). 7. Asked a simple question about Huis Ten Bosch Onsen at reception and was told “It’s written on your ticket” with an unhelpful attitude. 8. The door to the terrace was also broken with drafts coming through gaps. 9. Wi-Fi didn’t reach properly so they handed over pocket Wi-Fi instead—why not just install repeaters? 10 & 11: Chose Japanese breakfast but couldn’t enjoy it as staff were overly rushed and inattentive; when asked about allergies and mentioned “shellfish,” I received an annoyed response followed by being referred to as "the person who dislikes shellfish" during meal service—it felt dismissive towards allergies. If you're looking for an outdated historical relic from Showa-era Japan to stay in, this might be worth visiting—but not for me again!

It was a wonderful Hotel where you can experience something extraordinary.

From the moment you step into the hotel, you can enjoy an elegant atmosphere and furnishings reminiscent of a European palace, offering an extraordinary overseas travel experience. The live music in the lounge was delightful to listen to while enjoying cake and tea—so skillful and pleasant that I could have listened forever. The room featured a separate bath and toilet, allowing for a relaxing bath time. The European classical ambiance of the room felt like stepping into a classic movie. With views of Domtoren from the window, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Huis Ten Bosch throughout our stay. The official hotel benefits, such as next-day passport perks, were excellent. Thanks to prior reservations based on other guests' comments, we also enjoyed an exclusive cruise for Hotel Europe guests. The hotel's courtyard is designed as a sea with a pier and Christmas tree, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere at night. All staff members were kind and attentive—they took photos for us and shared information about Huis Ten Bosch, which was greatly appreciated. As for dining, breakfast sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious; even warm dishes were perfectly seasoned—truly satisfying! We also ordered room service at night, which was equally delicious. This is definitely a highly recommended hotel when staying at Huis Ten Bosch—I would love to stay here again!

Upon arrival and departure, I had two suitcases and couldn't open the door, but the bellboy standing by the door completely ignored this and I had to struggle to open it myself. It made me question what the role of a hotel bellboy is. The staff at the dining entrance were also very formal with no smiles, giving an overall impression of a lack of hospitality in this Hotel. Although I was told my Room was upgraded, it seemed like a room not usually used for guests, and I would have preferred a standard room instead. The Room felt old, and there was an unpleasant smell that bothered me. I had high expectations but was very disappointed.

    The Perfect Girls’ Trip

Three friends and I stayed for two nights! We checked in via the cruise service, and from that moment it truly felt like we were in Europe. We made a Reservation for a Room with a terrace and had breakfast on the terrace. It was such an elegant way to start the day, and that alone became an unforgettable memory. The Italian dressing prepared for us was also delicious. When we asked at the front desk, they kindly contacted the restaurant for us and told us it was the chef’s homemade dressing. It was so good that I honestly wish they would sell it! The Facility is a bit dated, but thanks to the staff’s wonderful hospitality—and the fresh flowers displayed throughout the Hotel—we had a very comfortable stay. This has become one of the Hotels I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The breakfast venue may be crowded.

You can choose between a Japanese-style breakfast or a buffet, but since the buffet had a waiting list of 30 groups, we opted for the Japanese-style breakfast. While it’s understandable that Huis Ten Bosch was crowded, we were disappointed as we had expected smoother guidance.

    The staff's attitude...

The staff's attitude was poor, and the luggage storage staff seemed unapproachable and unwilling to explain. The Hotel had many check-in guests but too few counters, leading to long waits. There was insufficient explanation about parking, causing confusion when trying to retrieve the car. As a result, I will never use this Hotel again. Despite reporting issues with the Room, it took a long time for them to respond, and they only offered a brief apology. The Room's floral design felt unsettling rather than relaxing, lacking any sense of luxury and instead feeling outdated. While cleaning was thorough, it was disappointing overall. Even the illumination has become less impressive compared to before, leaving me disappointed.
