    This is my second stay, and once again, I had a very pleasant experience!

    I stayed here again with my friends. Since it was my birthday on the day of our stay, I mentioned it in the comment section during booking. I received an email offering a birthday cake (for an additional fee). I decided to treat myself and ordered it, and on the day, the staff and my friends surprised me with a celebration! It became a very memorable experience. Thank you so much to all the staff!

    A wonderful Hotel you'll want to visit again

    The entire Hotel was very clean, and the service was excellent, allowing us to have a truly wonderful time. The variety of herbal teas was impressive, and I found myself going back for more several times. The atmosphere in the bar was lovely, and I enjoyed relaxing on the plush sofas while sipping herbal tea both in the morning and evening. The portion size of the kaiseki dinner was just right, beautifully presented, and having an all-you-can-drink option for alcohol made it even more appealing. Although I had been looking forward to enjoying oyakodon for breakfast, it turned out to be a buffet instead, which was slightly disappointing; however, the buffet dishes were delicious and left me fully satisfied! The uphill walk to reach the Hotel can be quite challenging, so having a shuttle bus available is incredibly helpful. For those arriving by public transportation, I highly recommend using it. On your way back from the Hotel to Gora Station though, it's all downhill—perfect for taking a leisurely stroll while enjoying the surrounding scenery. This trip was planned as a birthday celebration; although we hadn’t mentioned this beforehand when we casually brought it up during check-out conversation they surprised us with commemorative photos and other thoughtful gestures. From check-in to check-out everything about their service exceeded expectations—it truly is an exceptional Hotel! We would love to stay here again someday. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

    A very comfortable Hotel

    It was a great Hotel that made me want to stay for an extended period. Check-in and check-out were very easy, as it only required scanning a QR code. The Room felt more spacious than typical Hotels. Usually, twin Rooms are filled with just two beds, but here, there was a partitioned area with shelves, along with a table and sofa where you could watch TV. Additionally, the balcony was well-maintained with two comfortable chairs, allowing for relaxation outside as well. Moreover, this Hotel offered access to U-NEXT and Netflix on the TV and allowed viewing of YouTube too. This made it enjoyable even if I returned to the Hotel early without feeling bored. There was also a lounge called the "Herbal Medicine Bar," where various herbal teas, infused liquors, coffee, café au lait were available for free. The coffee came in lidded paper cups like those from convenience stores so I could take it back to my Room. On top of that, there were several types of snacks available which could be enjoyed freely as well. The meals served in the morning and evening were elaborate and included unlimited drinks. As for the Onsen facilities: while they did have proper Onsen water along with saunas and jacuzzi baths; there wasn’t an open-air bath (rotenburo), making it feel like just an ordinary large public bath rather than what you might expect from an Onsen Hotel at such locations—a slight letdown if anything negative had to be mentioned. The staff provided excellent service overall; everything about this place felt incredibly comfortable!

    Girls' Night Out

    The variety of medicinal cuisine and herbal teas was excellent. The bath is a bit small, but the slightly lukewarm Onsen allowed for a relaxing soak. Even after getting out, my body stayed warm. Next time, I plan to visit with my mother.

    The Room was old, the bathroom was small, but I enjoyed the herbal tea.

    The Hotel seems to be a renovated old apartment building. The entrance was clean, but the elevator, guest rooms, and Room itself were quite old and had an odor. It would be great if more effort was put into the renovation. The public bath was very small, with a line forming for the washing area, which made it uncomfortable. The food was delicious, especially breakfast. However, dinner portions might not be sufficient for younger guests despite being tasty. The herbal tea service was enjoyable. Gora Park nearby was wonderful!

    Streamlined yet increasingly enhanced.

    Efficient where possible, with a clear concept and overall positive impression. The staff arrangement in the dining area was pleasant, leaving a very good impression. The meals were delicious and satisfying. However, the west-facing Room, while calm with a view of the bamboo grove, lacked scenery and felt slightly dark, which was a bit disappointing.

    Third time

    I stayed here again this year for one night with my elderly mother. The price is reasonable, and the service is excellent, making it a place worth visiting repeatedly. However, this year, the check-in process was not as smooth as usual, and I noticed some guests getting frustrated. It made me wonder if something had happened since it's typically seamless. There were also more international guests this year, which made it a bit livelier than usual, but that was just a minor observation. Overall, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay as always.

    Satisfaction

    We went on our second family trip with our one-year-old son after he was born. We visited Hakone for a quick one-night stay. The place was bustling with various guests, including families with children of similar age to our son, a kind and skilled golfing couple who reminded us of grandparents, couples, and groups of friends enjoying girls' get-togethers—it’s clear why this spot is so popular. The Onsen had baths at temperatures suitable for children, making it very enjoyable for the whole family. The early morning balcony experience was soothing with the sound of birds chirping. The front desk staff's thoughtful gestures during check-in and check-out made the stay even more pleasant. We would love to visit again!

    A spontaneous solo trip planned the day before

    Shuttle service was available, but I arrived early and enjoyed a leisurely walk from Gora Station. Located in a quiet area next to Gora Park. The QR code smart check-in process was simple. A printed sheet provided details such as meal times, WiFi password, room code, and front desk phone number. No need for a room key, which was very convenient (the safe requires a key). The room was spacious for one person, quiet, and clean. The herbal tea bar offered various teas that could be enjoyed before or after meals at leisure. Dinner featured traditional kaiseki cuisine with healthy and flavorful dishes in sufficient portions. The all-inclusive plan allowed me to enjoy two glasses of Kurokirishima (sweet potato shochu). The warming breakfast was gentle and perfect for the morning. I visited the onsen five times; it was surprisingly uncrowded each time with only 2-3 people at most—almost like having it all to myself! The cold bath and sauna (100°C!) were also relaxing. The staff were young Japanese individuals who were efficient and friendly—reassuring about Japan's hospitality standards! While there seemed to be some foreign guests staying as well, I didn’t encounter them during my peaceful stay. On the following day, I had plenty of time to spare and walked up to Sounzan Station—a leisurely climb taking just under 30 minutes without breaking much of a sweat. From Sounzan Cable Car Station, I caught glimpses of Suruga Bay in the distance. Hakone’s fresh greenery during this season is beautiful; walking around while listening to cheerful warblers added charm to my trip focused more on enjoying onsen than sightseeing. It turned out to be a relaxing one-night getaway—thank you very much! One small note: The toothbrush bristles were too stiff without flexibility—they couldn’t reach between teeth properly and felt abrasive like they might damage enamel instead! Also disappointing not knowing if they were made in Japan or not…

    It was excellent.

    I stayed here for a solo trip. The seating arrangement facing outside during meals was very relaxing, and I was happy to stay in a spacious Room instead of one specifically for solo travelers. I used the Hakone Free Pass, which made it convenient to use the ropeway and allowed free entry to nearby Gora Park, so I visited several times with ease. The meals were delicious; however, dinner portions were a bit small for me. It would have been nice if rice and pickles could be added as an option. This Hotel is truly comfortable, and I would love to stay here again.

    We recommend using the Shuttle Service.

    We stayed here for a sister's trip. The staff were all very pleasant, and the room was more spacious than expected, allowing us to relax comfortably. A basket was provided, which was convenient for carrying towels and clothes to the large public bath. It was also nice that hand towels were placed in the room's bathroom. However, the toilet paper holder in the room seemed to prioritize design over functionality, making it difficult to tear neatly and a bit inconvenient. The meals were elaborate and delicious, with just the right portions for us. We also thoroughly enjoyed the free drinks and herbal medicine bar. Although there was guidance from the hotel stating "Due to steep slopes, we recommend using Shuttle Service," we underestimated it and decided to walk instead—but if you're coming by train, it's better to use their pick-up service (the slope is quite steep; we ended up out of breath). That said, it became part of our good memories too! Thank you very much!

    Memorable Trip

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and retirement, and we were delighted to have our room upgraded, which made our stay very comfortable. The staff's hospitality was also excellent, and we left feeling very satisfied. We would love to stay again when the greenery is at its best.

    Accommodation for Mind and Body Relaxation

    Stayed for two nights in a Loft Twin Room. The room and windows were spacious, providing a sense of openness, and the luxurious space included an open-air bath attached to the room. When the air conditioning's heating didn't work, I contacted the front desk, and they promptly came to provide a temporary fix and brought an electric heater, which warmed both my body and heart. Gora is an excellent base for sightseeing in Hakone. We efficiently enjoyed visits to museums, Owakudani, Lake Ashi, and the Old Hakone Highway. The Yakuzen Bar as well as dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared with health in mind; however, there were some drawbacks: the noodles at dinner were lukewarm both nights despite informing staff about it after the first night. Additionally, the "ginger rice" from the Warm Japanese Breakfast was soggy on both mornings. On a positive note though, each meal came with beautifully illustrated menus that added excitement like something out of a gourmet magazine! The breakfast smoothies are highly recommended! For multiple night stays, there was some variation in menu items showing thoughtful consideration. This is an accommodation I would recommend to friends planning a trip to Hakone!

    Enjoy a delightful medicinal tea experience! A comfortable trip to Hakone.

    I stayed at Merveille Hakone Gora and had a very satisfying stay. What was particularly impressive was the experience of making our own medicinal herbal tea. It was very interesting to choose from several types of medicinal ingredients and enjoy blending them to our liking, creating a memorable part of the trip. Additionally, the public bath had an attached sauna with high humidity, providing a comfortable environment where you could sweat gently. It's an irresistible point for sauna enthusiasts. After bathing, we could relax in the relaxation space and fully enjoy a healing time. The room was spacious with a calm atmosphere, making it very comfortable. There was plenty of room even when spreading out luggage, allowing us to relax comfortably. The bed also provided good sleep quality, effectively relieving fatigue. Furthermore, access to major tourist spots in Hakone is excellent. Popular spots like Gora Park and Owakudani are nearby, making it an ideal location as a base for sightseeing. With attractions such as Onsen (hot springs), saunas, medicinal herbal tea experiences, and ease of sightseeing packed into this Hotel (Property), I would love to visit again!

    There is a step in t...

    There is a step in the toilet and washroom, which is not elderly-friendly. Also, the toilet is outdated and does not meet modern standards. Other than that, the Onsen, meals, sake, medicinal liquor, and medicinal tea are all excellent. The room number key is also very good. No card needed; it's convenient.

    I made a reservation...

    I made a reservation because the reviews were good. I didn't do proper research, so I didn't know it was all-inclusive until I arrived at the hotel. Perhaps because university students were on spring break, most of the guests were couples in their teens and twenties. After check-in and after dinner, we went to the bar, but all the seats were filled with young couples, and it wasn't a relaxing atmosphere for middle-aged couples like us. Also, dinner started at 5:20 PM with no other options, and breakfast had only two options: starting at 7 AM or 9 AM, which made me regret making the reservation. Both dinner and breakfast were mediocre. It felt like a group tour with everyone starting at the same time and distributing side dishes all at once... we couldn't relax at all. The staff's explanations were also too fast to understand. However, starting with the reception, all the staff were pleasant. All-inclusive at this price. I think it's good for those who can drink a lot.

    You get what you pay for.

    This stay was a regretful yet educational experience. It was not suitable for a solo woman in her 50s. The entire property had few windows, was crowded with people, lacked spaciousness, and was not very clean. The onsen's water quality was good, but the temperature was slightly low in the middle of winter. Above all, the entire property, including the bathhouse and dining hall, was overcrowded with guests, mostly young couples, which was discouraging. It seems to cater to that type of clientele. The young foreign staff in the dining hall were working hard and left a good impression. The location should be good, but the view from my room was only of utility poles. There should be rooms with better views, but there was a hair on the table in my room, giving the impression that cleaning was not thorough. Normally, I would take a bath 3-4 times at an onsen property, but this time I was not inclined to do so and only went once, resulting in a low rating.

    I want to visit again, the Stays with medicinal cuisine.

    The medicinal cuisine and herbal tea corner were excellent. There was a detailed explanation of the meals, even for breakfast, and the room was spacious. The herbal tea corner was incredibly well-stocked. It was delightful to have vinegar drinks and ice candies available not only at night but also in the morning. It would be even better if the bath, which opens at 6 AM, could open a little earlier. A bit disappointing was that the shuttle service to the station was tight in terms of reservation numbers, and the Wi-Fi was not working. The service from both the front desk and dining staff was truly kind and attentive.

    A hotel full of a sense of health

    Thank you for your hospitality. Not only the exterior but also the interior of the Facility was clean, quiet, and very pleasant to stay in. The dinner was delicious, with a focus on healthy flavors based on medicinal cuisine, which was impressive. I was also surprised that alcoholic beverages and soft drinks were free. However, it was very disappointing that the wagyu beef was tough. The breakfast was also very delicious, and it was nice to have smoothies. The medicinal bar also allowed us to enjoy a sense of health.
