A variety of delicious dishes to enjoy in an atmospheric setting

You can truly feel the weight and character of this building with over 90 years of history. Everything was very well cleaned, and the toilet and other water facilities have been renovated. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and above all, the service was excellent, making our stay very comfortable. Up to this point, there were no complaints at all. There were two things that I felt would make it even better if improved. First, there was no in-Room safe, and there were also no lockers in the changing Room. Having either one would provide greater peace of mind. Second, one of the open-air baths was only a Shigaraki-ware ceramic pot bath that fits just one person. Since the other rock bath was so nice, when visiting as a couple it means one person may end up feeling disappointed. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

The rock oysters were plump and delicious.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

    A stay for three generations.

I stayed here on my way back after some business in Maizuru. The Facility felt historic, and the attendant who looked after us was very courteous. For the welcome drink, we were served freshly whisked matcha and sweets. It was disappointing that some crumbs (maybe from sweets) had spilled on the sofa, but the matcha and sweets were delicious. There was also a minibar, which was convenient for casually enjoying drinks. The meals featured fish and Kyoto vegetables and were very gentle on the stomach, which was great for older guests. The Onsen temperature was perfect for me as I like it hot, but older guests did not like that there was no handrail at the open-air bath. The shower pressure in the bath area was weak, making it difficult to wash my body and hair. Aside from that, I had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Even though this was...

Even though this was a last-minute Reservation, you kindly accepted us, which truly helped. Upon arrival, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles, and the check-in guidance was very thorough—such heartfelt hospitality that instantly eased our travel fatigue. The Room was spotless, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout, making it extremely comfortable. All necessary amenities and supplies were well provided, so we enjoyed a consistently pleasant stay. What impressed us most was the dining. Every dish showcased high-quality ingredients with perfectly balanced seasoning. The presentation was beautiful, and we could feel the care put into each item. We looked forward to every meal and were completely satisfied. The entire Accommodation had a calm atmosphere and a quiet setting where we could truly relax—an Accommodation that made us want to “come back again.” Although our stay was short this time, it became a wonderful memory. Next time, we would love to stay longer.

    Crab — extremely satisfying!!

For the past few years, I’ve been traveling to Fukui and the Hokuriku region around this time to eat crab. This time, I was the most satisfied with the crab. The quality and quantity were excellent, and it was great that they grilled it for us—when I grill it myself, I tend to overcook it and it doesn’t taste as good. Some places don’t even serve crab sashimi as a dish. I was also happy with breakfast: having too many small items isn’t ideal, but too few isn’t either—ideally, about 5–6 dishes with a reasonable amount of food. The seasoning was great as well. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    Winter in Miyazu

It was a wonderful Accommodation that conveyed the history of traditional Sukiya-style architecture. We stayed in a renovated Room, and the clean bedroom with beds was great. For both dinner and breakfast, a private dining room was prepared for us, so we were able to relax and enjoy the kaiseki course featuring natural yellowtail shabu-shabu as the main dish. The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay. We also appreciated being able to use the minibar service before and after dinner and breakfast. It would be even better if the available hours could be extended a little more. We would like to stay again in a different season. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

It was a very lovely and wonderful accommodation!

The historic building retains its charm while offering modern conveniences like air purifiers and mini heaters, showing thoughtful attention to detail! The decor and furnishings were stylish and matched my taste perfectly—I absolutely loved them! The crab course was incredibly generous in portion, leaving me fully satisfied! The hostess and staff were very friendly and welcoming, complementing the accommodation beautifully. As a solo traveler, I truly appreciated their warm hospitality. I’d love to stay in a different room next time, so this is definitely an accommodation I want to revisit! Since it’s expected to snow tomorrow, I couldn’t see the snowy Amanohashidate this time, but I look forward to coming back for another chance. This trip has become a wonderful memory for me!

It was a great way to show appreciation to my parents.

We stayed for 3 nights with our family of four over the New Year holidays. Each dish was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, with excellent selection of tableware, allowing us to enjoy both visually and gastronomically. The building, designed in a traditional sukiya style, exuded history while maintaining an elegant and comfortable atmosphere. Although the hallways felt slightly chilly, the Room was well-heated and very comfortable. Despite the busy New Year period, we were deeply impressed by the courteous service provided by all staff members. The New Year's decorations throughout added a special touch of hospitality that greatly satisfied my parents as well. We look forward to visiting again in summer to enjoy torigai clams. Thank you very much!

    A very charming accommodation.

This was my first time using this accommodation. I made the reservation without prior information for the purpose of enjoying crab dishes, and even though I stayed in the annex, it was a very historical and charming accommodation with a wonderful atmosphere. Since it is an old building, footsteps from upstairs guests can be heard, but I was deeply impressed by how well-maintained the accommodation was. The garden was also beautifully cared for and truly stunning. Both the crab dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. The bath had just the right temperature to warm up thoroughly—a very pleasant experience. My only suggestion would be regarding the large public bath's changing area. It is separated from the hallway by just one glass door, which makes it possible to see inside when opened. This made me slightly anxious about male guests accidentally opening it. It would be great if there could at least be an additional partition or screen on the inside of the glass door for privacy. Next time, I would love to stay in the main building as well! Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    Wonderful Accommodation

The delicious meals, beautiful tableware, comfortable and well-maintained room, the atmosphere of the accommodation, level of service, and free drink offerings—everything was perfect! This is personally one of the top five accommodations I have ever stayed at. I had a wonderful New Year’s experience. Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfied

We visited to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our expectations were focused on two points: the cuisine, as it is a Ryokan known for its food, and the elegance and atmosphere of a long-established inn. Both exceeded our expectations. For the meal, we debated upgrading but decided to go with the standard option this time. Even so, we were served dishes like rock oysters and wagyu beef, which left us very satisfied. The attention to detail in the tableware was evident, and the semi-private dining area had a great ambiance that made for a comfortable experience. As for the staff, those who served us during meals were particularly pleasant, allowing us to enjoy our stay comfortably right up until check-out.

    Morning in Miyazu

I visited Amanohashidate and Maizuru. This time, I chose a traditional Japanese Ryokan with Sukiya-style architecture. I enjoyed the tranquility and hospitality that cannot be found in the city. Especially, the dinner was visually delightful. The unique tableware added to the experience, making my stay truly enjoyable.

    Accommodation for Saigoku 33 Pilgrimage

I booked a reservation at an accommodation with the same name as the one featured in the anime "Zatsu Tabi," which my child wanted to visit. Although it was an annex, we were very satisfied. The accommodation had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. The meals were visually stunning and absolutely delicious. The bath was a bit small for four women, but the garden accessible from there was magnificent. At checkout, I had forgotten that I mentioned our plans for the next day to the staff, but they kindly recommended a pamphlet about Ine Town, which was very helpful. Additionally, I loved the sweets served at the accommodation so much that I asked for their shop's name and bought some as souvenirs. Even after returning home, every time we eat those sweets, my family talks about how wonderful this accommodation was. Thank you to all of your staff!

    We had the pleasure ...

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful accommodation during our visit to Nariaiji Temple and Amanohashidate. The clean facilities and attentive hospitality made it an exceptional experience. I was completely rejuvenated. As someone who values privacy, I truly appreciated having both dinner and breakfast served in a private room. Every dish was impeccably delicious—so much so that I could imagine living here! Thank you to everyone for such a memorable stay. I hope to return with family and friends in the future.

    Family and Relatives Trip

It was a trip with my family and uncle. From the reservation stage, we made various inquiries, but received courteous responses to all of them, allowing us to stay with great peace of mind. Since it was a trip with elderly people, we had requested in advance to reduce the amount of food; however, we ended up not being able to eat everything and wasted some food. We apologize for that. The meals were all truly delicious and we've talked about visiting again during the warmer season. The room was very clean and comfortable, but since it was indeed a cold season, having a kotatsu (heated table) was very nice. I think perhaps I should have asked for another heater as the cold seemed quite tough on the elderly guests. When leaving the room, the hallway felt cold and moving to the dining area or large bath seemed slightly challenging for elderly guests. The onsen water was very soft and I really liked it. All of your staff were very kind and it's definitely an inn we'd like to visit again someday. Thank you for taking care of us in many ways.

I would like to visit again.

On a precious day when my crab-loving daughters were all together, we visited for a slightly belated birthday celebration trip. Near Amanohashidate, a place I had always wanted to visit, we found Charoku Bekkan, a Japanese-style inn with high culinary ratings that suited my daughters' tastes. On the day, we were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived, the bath was excellent, the food was exquisite, and the scenery and atmosphere were delightful, making for a very satisfying experience. The food was simply exquisite and delicious. Thank you to the head chef for your thoughtful attention. Thanks to the warm hospitality from everyone until the very end, it truly became a happy trip. Thank you very much.

    Both dinner and brea...

Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and I was very satisfied. I was surprised when the nori rolls were served as a late-night snack, but they were so tasty that I devoured them. The room was lovely, and I appreciated all the thoughtful touches. It turned out to be a fun trip.

I was able to spend a relaxing time.

The building itself felt old, but I was able to spend my time very leisurely. It reminded me of my grandmother's house. Dinner was so filling that it was a shame I couldn't eat the late-night snack that was kindly prepared for us. The sashimi was very delicious. The hot spring was small, feeling full with 3 to 4 people, but I was able to enjoy it almost all to myself. I was able to leisurely read books, soak in the hot spring, and take a slow look at myself, making it a very fulfilling stay.
