    Attentive hospitality

    My mother stayed here with friends and couldn’t stop praising it, and she had been saying she wanted to come back with my older sister, younger sister, and me. Our schedules never lined up, but this time I was able to visit with my daughter. A charming Western-style building and a wonderful breakfast. After an unexpected incident, the Hotel staff responded with such thoughtful care that I truly felt their high level of hospitality—it warmed my heart. Out of several trips we took this summer both in Japan and abroad, my daughter said this was the most comfortable Accommodation we stayed at, and I completely agree. Surrounded by classical furnishings, the bathroom was fully equipped with modern amenities—bubble bath, TV—and the washing area was clearly separated, so we could relax and enjoy it. Even though it isn’t an Onsen Accommodation, it was the first time I’ve ever taken three baths in one night. If I may add one small request: the front desk staff were very pleasant, so I found myself wishing that the person explaining things at breakfast could have been a bit more smiling or gentle in tone. (It almost felt as if they intentionally maintained a solemn manner to serve a “world’s best breakfast.”) Still, they provided paper bags for any bread we couldn’t finish, the café au lait coffee was served hot, and we thoroughly enjoyed a truly lovely breakfast. It was a wonderful Hotel that made me want to return again next time without question. Thank you very much.

    Breakfast met my expectations and was satisfying.

    I truly enjoyed the world’s best breakfast. Not only the croissants, but also the other table breads, jams, vegetable drinks, tapioca, and everything else were delicious. I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    Girls’ getaway stay with my younger sisters

    I booked a Plan with the night dessert buffet and breakfast, which I’d been curious about for a while, because this time sale made it a great deal. There were peach sweets as well as curry, penne, fried chicken, soups (chilled corn and minestrone), and at the start a pork (?) pâté sandwich. I really enjoyed it and left completely satisfied—not just from the bite-sized desserts. Breakfast was just as delicious as I remembered, especially the dashi soup and tapioca. Since there were three of us, we stayed in a spacious corner Room and had a very relaxing stay chatting together. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance—next time I’d like to try the French cuisine. Thank you very much.

    I’d love to visit Kobe again just to stay at this Hotel.

    This year, we returned to Kobe Kitano Hotel for the first time in 15 years to celebrate our eldest daughter’s birthday after she started her new job. As expected of one of Japan’s leading auberges, the food was far better than at many Michelin-starred restaurants overseas. It was my first time trying bread baked in a traditional rice-cooking pot, and the pike conger siphon consommé was truly moving. Even after eating and drinking so much, I still felt great—proof of this wonderfully light “water-based” French cuisine. Being able to go straight to bed afterward is the ultimate luxury. Since it’s right in the city, we enjoyed strolling around, taking a bath, resting, and then heading out again. It became a truly wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

    The world’s best breakfast is…

    I was really looking forward to the “world’s best breakfast,” but I don’t think I’ll have it again. There were no fresh vegetables for the salad, the only egg option was a boiled egg (no omelet), and the coffee was very weak. Most of the other items were high in carbohydrates, which isn’t for me. I know it comes down to personal preference, but it just wasn’t for me—sorry.

    The breakfast we had...

    The breakfast we had been dreaming of—said to be the best in the world—was truly wonderful. There was a large selection of bread, and we were happy that paper bags were provided for taking some to go. However, we felt it might be nice to slightly reduce the number of breads and offer something else instead. The bath in our Room could be used as a jacuzzi, which was perfect for relieving fatigue. When we took a taxi from in front of the Hotel on our way back, a female staff member bowed outside until we were out of sight. It made us very happy.

    The World’s Best Breakfast

    I stayed here because I wanted to try the “world’s best breakfast” at least once. The Room was assigned by the Accommodation, but it turned out to be a lovely twin Room. The shower temperature was a bit unstable, and the two-seater sofa was too soft—when you sit down it almost feels like you bottom out—so anyone with back issues should be careful. Breakfast the next morning was satisfying as well, with delicious bread, tasty vegetable drinks, and jams/compotes. What was disappointing was that when I wanted a refill of tea, there were no staff around anywhere; even when I finally managed to get a refill, there was no timer/tea timer provided, which was inconvenient. Even when foreign guests called “Excuse me,” no one came. I also tried saying “Excuse me” to an older man walking past my table, but he didn’t notice me. It made the “world’s best breakfast” feel a little disappointing in the end.

    I was able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace.

    I stayed here to celebrate my last birthday in my 60s. As an IKYU Diamond member, my Room was upgraded! A Room with European-style furniture! A bubble bath with a TV! It was a hot day, so I refreshed myself right away with a relaxing bath. Also, as a Diamond member benefit, I received baked sweets and lemon cake, which made me very happy. Thank you very much. At the luxurious summer peach sweets buffet, the peach parfait is delicious. Not only the sweets buffet, but the curry and corn soup are also delicious. Of course, I was satisfied with the “World’s Best Breakfast” as well! I want to visit again!

    I was pleasantly sur...

    I was pleasantly surprised to be told at check-in that my Room had been upgraded! And there was also a gift of baked sweets included with the accommodation Plan. I was excited from the very start. I was completely satisfied with the wonderful Room.\nTo enjoy the breakfast said to be the best in the world, we used the Shuttle Service to a mountaintop restaurant. The breakfast was as delicious as expected, and the restaurant’s location was stunning.\nWhen I struggled to arrange shipping my luggage on departure, the front desk staff kindly helped me, which impressed me again. It’s a Hotel that truly makes you want to come back.

    I had visited for lunch before, but this was my first stay. The classic Room was wonderful. The “world’s best breakfast” was truly impressive! The lemon cake was delicious. I will definitely visit again.

    Exceptional hospitality

    I enjoyed taking photos in this lovely Western-style building—outside, in the lobby, and in the Room. The front desk and restaurant staff were attentive and thoughtful in many situations, making my stay very comfortable. I’d give the hospitality and service 10 stars if I could. Above all, the world’s best breakfast was outstanding.

    The World’s Best Breakfast

    I made a Reservation because I’d been looking forward to the “world’s best breakfast” and the newly launched peach sweets buffet. The Hotel had a wonderful atmosphere, and all the staff were very kind, so I was able to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday. I’m also very grateful that my Room was upgraded since there happened to be availability. In the evening, we enjoyed the peach sweets buffet. Even though it’s called a sweets buffet, there were also soup and curry, so it was an excellent spread. Everything tasted great, and as I tried different items I ended up completely full—so it was disappointing that I could only have one peach parfait (haha). That day I was tired after visiting the Kitano foreign residences, but the bubble bath soothed my body and I slept soundly. And then the next morning came the “world’s best breakfast.” Each dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and fun to look at as well. We were also able to take some bread back with us. My everyday life is usually hectic, but time felt unhurried here. With so many delicious options, it made my short getaway truly fulfilling. I would definitely like to visit again.

    A traditional, relaxing Hotel

    The most disappointing thing was that I couldn’t watch YouTube in the Room! Since I stayed after a live show, I couldn’t fully enjoy the afterglow. The Facility and service were good, but it felt like it was just one step short. I did enjoy the “world’s best breakfast,” and I’d like to come back again for lunch or to see the night view.

    Be moved by our heartfelt hospitality and the world’s best breakfast

    I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. After contacting the Accommodation by email in advance, they kindly arranged a welcome message and a message plate at breakfast, and my friend was truly touched. The “world’s best breakfast” was served at Kitano Terrace, about a 5-minute drive away. The weather was great, so it was a luxurious time in a relaxing space while looking out over Kobe. I also appreciated the fresh vegetable juice, Kobe-style bread, and the dashi broth as well. The building is old but full of character. The spiral staircase was especially memorable. With tasteful furniture and amenities provided, we were able to enjoy a special time. Thanks to the thoughtful care of all the staff, it became an unforgettable stay. Thank you very much.

    Everything was excel...

    Everything was excellent, including the Hotel and Room atmosphere, service, amenities, and Facility. As a Diamond member benefit, we received a Room upgrade and some delicious sweets—truly wonderful service. Thank you very much. The female front desk staff provided exceptionally pleasant and outstanding hospitality, which made our stay very comfortable. The “world’s best breakfast,” which I had wanted to try for a long time, tasted like each item was carefully prepared with high-quality ingredients. Everything was delicious—especially the drinkable salad and the tapioca milk dish. One small disappointment was that the meal explanations were delivered rather quickly and felt a bit rushed, and perhaps because the tables were somewhat close together, I felt like I might be bumped when staff cleared wooden plates from nearby tables. I understand it gets busy, but I would have been happy to enjoy a slightly more elegant breakfast atmosphere worthy of the “world’s best breakfast.” Overall, we were satisfied with our stay, so if we have another opportunity to visit Kobe, we would love to stay again.

    It was the breakfast and stay I had always dreamed of.

    I chose this place because I wanted to experience the world’s best breakfast at least once. The Hotel building had a wonderful atmosphere, and I enjoyed its unique ambiance along with the breakfast. The staff were warm and welcoming, making my stay very comfortable. This is a highly recommended Hotel where you can truly enjoy Kobe.

    The room and service were excellent.

    The Room was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was bright, and the bathtub was spacious—excellent overall. The service was also very good, and we were able to relax and had a very satisfying stay. We had breakfast at Kitano Terrace, but it didn’t match our expectations. It felt like they simply laid out the dishes, explained them, and that was it. We also had to stand up and call out to request a coffee refill, which was a bit disappointing. The view was great.

    Kobe Trip

    Since we were going to Kobe, the three of us made a Reservation to try the “world’s best breakfast.” Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but the view from the terrace seats was wonderful, and it truly was an amazing breakfast. However, one group who arrived later was quite loud and ruined the calm morning atmosphere, which was very disappointing. The Facility is old, but the Room was spacious enough for three people. Since it’s located between Sannomiya and Kitano Ijinkan, it was convenient for getting anywhere. That said, it was hard to figure out how to adjust the room lighting, the shower was difficult to use, and there wasn’t a laundry basket in the changing area, so we weren’t sure what to do with our clothes after taking them off. The Diamond member benefits were very satisfying. My friends were happy too. Thank you very much. Next time, I’d like to enjoy dinner at a relaxed pace while taking in the night view from the terrace.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    From start to finish, it was nothing but moving. I checked in after 18:00. There were no other guests at the front desk, and two staff members explained everything clearly and politely. The Hotel looks small and charming from the outside, but once inside there was no sense of age or cheapness at all. The antique furniture in the shared spaces, the Room key, decorative beams, curtains, and more gave a classic feel that wasn’t overly luxurious—calm and comfortable. I also heard this Hotel was used for a photo shoot with Keiko Kitagawa, and there was a photo book in the Room. 　 I booked a “Room assigned on arrival,” but they told me it would be their highest-grade Room with a jacuzzi. They offered me samples of lemon baked sweets sold at the shop across the street, and there were also four original cookies in the Room. Children under 3 stay free; they still prepared amenities for my child. Many of the other guests who had breakfast at the same time also seemed relaxed, so even with a child I felt comfortable staying without worry. 　 I received a 30% discount voucher for dinner, but French dining does not allow children, and the buffet stopped taking orders at 19:00, so we didn’t use it this time. 　 For breakfast, we could choose either an on-site venue or “Tenku no Terrace,” about five minutes away by car. 　 At checkout we received souvenirs as well. The hospitality was wonderful throughout—I already want to come back again soon.

    A Hotel with friendly staff and a calm atmosphere

    I felt genuine attentiveness in the reception and guidance at check-in. Although it is a well-known Hotel where staff service can sometimes feel less than ideal, this place reminded me of the classic, old-fashioned Hotel professionalism. This may be unavoidable, but because it is a traditional Hotel, the toilet is not separate, which is why I rated it 4. I truly enjoyed my time in Kobe for the first time in a while.

    We had a wonderful, peaceful stay.

    This was our first stay at this Hotel. My wife had long wanted to visit, so I made a Reservation to celebrate her birthday. What impressed us most was the building’s elegance and calm atmosphere. The furnishings were also refined and tasteful. For dinner, we dined at Kitano Terrace, higher up from the Hotel, with a beautiful view of Kobe’s night skyline. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed both fish and meat as main dishes. It was a wonderful dinner where we could enjoy both the view and the meal. Before the final dessert, we were served shaved ice topped with homemade strawberry jam as a palate cleanser. It surprised me a little, but it worked well as a transition between the courses and dessert. And then—the final desserts arrived on a cart! We enjoyed Opera cake, cheesecake, strawberry tart, canelé, pudding, and chocolates as well. We fell asleep still savoring the afterglow of dinner, and breakfast the next morning—an extension of that experience—was beautifully presented with thoughtful table setting. The ingredients were health-conscious and well balanced; it truly lived up to its reputation as “the world’s best breakfast.” We would love to visit again.

    The World’s Best Breakfast

    We stayed here at my mother’s request to try the “world’s best breakfast.” Our Room was upgraded, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility was fine overall, but there is no phone charger, so you’ll need to bring your own. The amenities were Clarins, though the fragrance may be a matter of personal preference. We had breakfast at Kitano Terrace. The weather was great and the view was wonderful—I imagine the night view is beautiful as well. There were several kinds of bread, and the croissant was especially flaky and delicious. They also kept the bread warm with heated stones in a wooden box, which was a nice touch. You can choose coffee or tea; however, the tea is served in a pot without a cover, so it gets cold before you finish eating. Also, it’s more filling than it looks—maybe because of the tapioca milk. There were times when no staff were on the floor, and our Shuttle Service timing wasn’t communicated smoothly. At checkout we received a small gift and they kindly took photos for us (although one person who was watering plants neither moved nor offered to help). This was my first trip with just my mother, and it became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    It was quite disappointing.

    The building has a charming, historic feel. However, cleanliness was an issue. The Room had not been thoroughly cleaned, and there was a large amount of dust beside the board next to the bed. Worst of all was the smell: a deeply embedded odor like an old pillow in a Business Hotel came from the bed, sofa, and cushions. I woke up repeatedly and couldn’t sleep well. I would like to see proper cleaning done. It was written that “the world’s best breakfast begins with the stay,” but I’m not sure about that. As for the breakfast I had been looking forward to, the service was very disappointing. I had requested a message plate, but when they brought my tray of food they abruptly asked, “Which one is for ◯◯ (the message)?” I initially had no idea what they meant. Also, saying the message out loud before it is shown to the recipient is inappropriate. They also asked, “Coffee or tea?” and “Orange juice or grapefruit juice?” but without any context such as “for your meal,” it wasn’t clear whether this was before or after eating, and it felt inconsiderate. They propose taking photos at every table, but it felt like an assembly line: the photos weren’t even in focus, and they didn’t let us check them. When we looked at them at home later, we were disappointed with how they turned out. If you’re going to provide such careless service, please don’t offer it in the first place. When clearing the neighboring table after their meal, staff sprayed something from a distance without consideration—so close it could have reached our table—and we disliked how it nearly got on our food. Even when setting tables down again afterward, items were placed as if being tossed. It reminded me of an unpleasant experience in Chinatown earlier that day. The food itself was reasonably good, but because of how poor the service was overall, it left a very negative impression. For something advertised as “the world’s best breakfast,” it was extremely underwhelming. There were some positives—for example, a man at reception kindly took photos for us—but overall the service level was low. I will not be returning.

    It was delicious!

    We visited to enjoy the world’s best breakfast for our wedding anniversary. We finished every bite of the breakfast on the terrace while taking in the beautiful Kobe view under clear skies. The lemon cake was also delicious, and we bought 10. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. We were also happy that our Room was upgraded.

    On the day of our st...

    On the day of our stay, you upgraded our Room, and we were able to have a truly wonderful time. At breakfast, the Shuttle Service to the terrace in a higher-grade vehicle was also excellent. I was impressed—it truly lives up to its reputation as “the world’s best breakfast.” If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay again and would also recommend this Accommodation to others.

    A nice, classic Hotel

    Although it is an old Hotel, I felt it was a well-maintained and very nice Hotel. As an IKYU Diamond member, my Room was upgraded. Thank you very much. The Room was relaxing. The bathroom had a jacuzzi and a TV, so I could take my time and unwind. The Moët drink in the refrigerator was mini-sized. I wished there had been more. When I asked the front desk for glasses, they brought them right away. I received a discount coupon for the shop across the street, so I bought jam and cookies to take home. The lemon cake was also delicious.

    It turned into a wonderful anniversary.

    We stayed here for our wedding anniversary this year, with the goal of enjoying the world’s best breakfast. Since it was a special occasion, they upgraded our Room—thank you so much. With a large bed and a jacuzzi bath, we were able to relax in great comfort. And then, morning came—the world’s best breakfast, the main purpose of this trip! We enjoyed freshly baked bread with strawberry confiture, chestnut honey, and kinako dip… absolutely delicious. Fresh orange juice and “drinkable salad”! Each glass of the drinkable salad contained several different ingredients, including some I had never seen before. Everything was refreshing and tasty. The eggs, prosciutto, yogurt—everything else was also delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal. It truly became a memorable anniversary. Thank you very much.
