    Insufficient cleaning

I stayed with my daughter at the end of the year. The room was the only barrier-free room in the hotel equipped with a private Onsen bath. Although neither my daughter nor I have disabilities or require care, we chose this room because it was spacious and reasonably priced, and no other rooms were available. We used the Onsen bath in the morning, but it seemed rarely used as the entrance door and frame were very dirty, with noticeable mold. While at first glance, the room appeared tidy and clean, dust had accumulated in its corners. Being a year-end stay, it was a fairly expensive hotel; however, there were no particularly stylish amenities provided. The only loungewear available was yukata—there weren’t any two-piece relaxing outfits either. Although ice water was prepared in a pot, I would have preferred one complimentary bottle of mineral water instead. Breakfast consisted of a buffet that wasn’t particularly abundant in variety. The buffet area itself is relatively small and feels quite cramped when guests overlap during busy times. Many staff members appeared to be from overseas but seemed very well-trained and professional overall. The short stretch of road leading to the hotel elevator after crossing Ajisai Bridge had uneven pavement that made moving suitcases difficult—it might be better to repave this area for smoother access.

Shocked by the decline in the quality of Chinese cuisine.

I used to stay at the accommodation approximately every two months to enjoy the special Chinese dinner (Peach Blossom Course) at Tohka-ro. The elegant flavors and beautifully presented dishes were truly exceptional. However, this time, I was shocked by the significant decline in quality. Everything, including the number of dishes and seasoning, seemed downgraded to the point where I had to double-check if it was mistakenly served as the regular Peony Course instead of the special one. The number of appetizers decreased from five to three; the soup contained such a small amount of shark fin that it was barely noticeable; the hot pot lacked ingredients and had an overpowering spiciness; and plain white rice replaced what used to be fried rice or stir-fried noodles. Moreover, I discovered that while each meal previously cost 14,000 yen per person, it has now increased to 15,000 yen—a surprising change. Given recent economic conditions, some price increase is understandable. I also heard that there has been a change in chefs recently; however, this issue seems beyond just a matter of culinary skill. Unfortunately, while Japanese cuisine, French cuisine, and sushi here all seem unworthy of their prices in my opinion—Chinese cuisine was my only solace—but now even that is disappointing. I sincerely hope this was just a one-time failure with their menu choices on this occasion.

    Stable and Comfortable Stay

It has been a long time since my last visit. The space was spacious and clean, and the traditional charm remains intact, which made me very happy. I look forward to staying here again.

    Warm and heartfelt hospitality

Booked this accommodation near the station for a train trip with my daughter. From arrival to luggage storage after check-out and bus guidance, we received kind and pleasant hospitality that deeply impressed us. The dinner was thoughtfully prepared, emphasizing the natural flavors of the ingredients, and everything was incredibly delicious. The room and onsen were comfortable, providing a peaceful and relaxing time. It was an accommodation that made me want to visit again.

Main Building 8th Floor Japanese-Western Style Room

The renovated Room was comfortable. However, the bathroom was small, and there were no skincare amenities like lotion provided. Since many Hotels now offer a wide range of amenities, I hadn't brought my own and found it inconvenient. The staff were very kind and provided excellent service, but I was surprised by one senior-looking female staff member at the shop who seemed a bit careless. I missed the draft beer server that used to be near the relaxation area by the large public bath. The Hotel is close to the station, making it easy for my elderly mother to visit, so I would like to stay again if given the chance.

    LOVEマッチ

It was a satisfying trip for our four-generation family.

We stayed as a four-generation family, ranging from an 86-year-old to a 6-month-old baby. This was our third time with the Fujiya Group but our first visit to Hakone Yumoto. The staff's thoughtful care for both the elderly and children, along with their warm smiles and perfectly balanced attentiveness, made our stay very pleasant. The sushi kaiseki meal was delightful, especially the simmered conger eel which was exceptional. We also had lunch at the Western-style restaurant in the facility, and their seafood curry was equally outstanding. However, it rained during our stay and it was a bit chilly that day. Unfortunately, only air conditioning was available, so the elderly had to bundle up while sleeping due to the cold. It would be great if blankets were provided in such cases. With delicious meals and relaxing baths, this is definitely one of the accommodations we’d love to visit again!

    Close to the station.

We decided last minute with my son the day before, so we chose based on "close to the station!" The Room was reasonably spacious, and there were three types of large baths plus a sauna. We chose Japanese cuisine, which was delicious! The breakfast buffet was also tasty. It was excellent overall.

    Convenient Hotel near Hakone-Yumoto Station

Very close to Hakone-Yumoto Station with excellent access. The shopping street is also nearby, making it convenient to leave your luggage and explore the area. The room is slightly smaller than a typical business hotel. The window is smaller compared to any other accommodation I’ve stayed at. As others have mentioned, the cleanliness and toilet odor were initially noticeable. However, it was sufficient for a quick solo stay. The staff were attentive, and the Onsen was more spacious than expected. I chose a breakfast-included plan with a buffet, but the variety was not extensive. It might be worth considering whether to opt for a plan without breakfast. Overall, considering it’s a tourist area, the price is reasonable, and the performance is good.

    Overall, highly rated!

I often stay at many Onsen Ryokans for solo trips, and among them, my stay at "Yumoto Fujiya Hotel" was "highly rated." The facilities have been renovated and are clean, and the Onsen was very satisfying. The meals, in particular, were excellent (considering the cost-performance), and I was very satisfied. The room was a single room for my solo trip, and while it was clean, it felt quite small, likely converted into a single room. Next time, I would avoid the single room, but everything else was satisfactory, so I would like to bring my spouse along.

Conveniently located near the station. In addition to the Room bath, there is a large public bath for you to enjoy. Breakfast is served buffet-style. Please note that it may not be suitable for the elderly or those with mobility issues. The sushi restaurant operates only on weekends and public holidays, so plan accordingly. On public holidays, the facility can be noisy due to large groups of foreign tourists and families with children. The interior is spacious, allowing for a relaxing stay.

The dinner cost approximately 20,000 yen for three people, but the food was quite ordinary. The staff seemed inexperienced in serving and slightly rushed customers to finish dining earlier.

    Can anything be done?

The furnishings are outdated but the Hotel is reasonably satisfying. The sushi kaiseki, especially the simmered conger eel, is excellent. However, the bath experience is disappointing due to loud voices from Chinese guests, and breakfast is disrupted by the overpowering perfume of a Latin or Caucasian woman. Can something be done about this?

We appreciated the thoughtful hospitality and enjoyed our stay.

We traveled by car, and upon entering the parking lot, we were provided with a wagon to carry our luggage to the car, which was very helpful. The front desk was attended by a foreign female staff member who left an impression of being well-trained. For dinner, we initially planned to eat somewhere around the hotel but found that many nearby restaurants catering to tourists closed early. We decided to dine at an izakaya-style restaurant within the hotel that had lanterns displayed outside—and it turned out to be a great choice. The sashimi platter was incredibly delicious, and the tempura was crispy and freshly fried—everything we ate was excellent. Even details like how finely the cucumber in the salad was cut showed meticulous care; I gained new respect for izakaya dining! The soba noodles were also firm and flavorful. Additionally, when I ordered Yebisu beer, they brought out a rare "secret label" bottle that is not often seen—a special label featuring more sea bream than usual for good fortune. Perhaps because it was a weekday stay right after Obon holidays with fewer guests around, both the food and hospitality were exceptional. It became a truly memorable stay for us!

    Good.

Previously stayed at a hotel in Miyanoshita, but this time chose an accommodation in Hakone Yumoto for its convenient location. Stayed with three people, including a child. Allergy-friendly meals were provided. The facility is spacious with plenty of restrooms and clean carpeted hallways. Dinner was Japanese cuisine. Lunch timing was irregular, so we only had boiled eggs from Owakudani to avoid missing dinner. The child was hungry upon arrival, so the 5:45 PM dinner time worked well. Most of the food ended up being eaten by the child, which left me with little to enjoy. The breakfast buffet had limited options and felt similar to that of a business hotel. However, the fruits were delicious; I added kiwi on yogurt and placed oranges on a separate plate. It would be helpful if drink labels were available as they seemed missing in the center area. The fish served was silver salmon; having more variety would be nice. Despite not eating much in the morning, I took too much food and left some behind—an omelet stood out as tasty though slightly buttery for my preference. Skipped bread due to concerns about overeating and indigestion but would have enjoyed it more when younger. Used both private baths and morning baths during our stay. Our room accommodated three beds but resulted in bumping into bed corners; next time might opt for tatami-style rooms instead. While towels were provided at the bathhouse allowing hands-free visits, having baskets for personal items like clothes or glasses cases would add convenience—other accommodations like Atami offered such baskets which set expectations here too. Carried essentials like swimwear and sandals along with many souvenirs back home making luggage heavy—returning exhausted led immediately into unpacking laundry chores followed by cooking dinner leaving me drained even into the next day spent idly recovering. Although both Atami & Hakone accommodations cost similarly overall experience favored Hakone according to my child despite challenges such as long travel times or lack of air conditioning onboard summer trains—a reminder seasonal visits may better suit future plans especially once pool repairs complete!

    The Best Experience Ever

As it was our first trip to Hakone in a while, we decided to stay at this Hotel, conveniently located near Hakone-Yumoto. On the day of our arrival, the weather was bad, and we couldn't ride the cable car or pirate ship as planned, which left us feeling a bit disappointed as we headed for check-in in the evening. However, during the warm and courteous check-in process, we were surprised with an unexpected upgrade to a Suite Room! Without knowing why this happened, we went to our room and found an amazing corner Western-style Room on the 3rd floor—unlike anything we've ever experienced before. The spaciousness of the Room, its cleanliness, stunning views, and even how plushy-soft the sofa bed was—everything was perfect. And above all else—the Chinese dinner that night was hands down one of the best meals we've ever had! Every dish was delicious and paired wonderfully with drinks that kept flowing. We would love to stay at this Hotel again someday. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience!

    Repeat guest.

It was a three-day, two-night trip to Hakone, staying one night at Fujiya Hotel in Miyanoshita and the next night here. The Japanese cuisine here is not made with particularly expensive ingredients but is carefully and deliciously prepared, which is very appealing. The complimentary lemon water and barley tea corner after bathing are also a nice touch. For breakfast, I prefer a quiet set meal with items like omelets rather than a buffet, so I made the reservation for that option this time as well. I will definitely return again!

    A Trip with Grandchildren

This was our first trip with our grandchild, and we chose this accommodation. We visited with a stroller, but the route from the station and within the facility was easy to navigate without any inconvenience. As expected of a "Welcome Baby" accommodation, amenities, kids' room, and cutlery were well-prepared. The room and large public bath were spacious, which made our grandchild very happy. The staff treated us exceptionally well. Being a long-established large onsen hotel, we were surprised by the diverse range of guests including international visitors, seniors, and families with children. However, we were impressed by how efficiently the staff catered to everyone’s needs. We will definitely use this accommodation again in the future. Thank you very much!

    Please clean the air conditioner.

The price was exceptionally low, so I understand I can't complain too much, but the experience was so poor that I feel compelled to write this. Upon entering the Room, it seemed like it had previously been a smoking Room converted into a non-smoking one. There was still a noticeable smell of tobacco, and the air conditioning was not functioning well. When I checked it, there were numerous stains and mold as shown in the attached image. It seems that regular cleaning operations only cover bed-making and water areas, with air conditioner cleaning limited to just the filter at best. Could you please let me know how often air conditioners are cleaned? (I doubt this issue is specific to just this Room.) Additionally, the hair dryers in the public bath area had very weak airflow. Other guests using them also mentioned this issue unanimously. Replacing about five hair dryers shouldn't be too costly; perhaps it's time for an upgrade. While I chose this accommodation based on its price and don't mean to sound overly critical, I felt that these issues were unacceptable and decided to share my feedback here.

    Had a wonderful day.

I was finally able to visit after a long time. Although the weather was unstable and I wasn't feeling my best, I was deeply comforted by the hospitality at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. The Onsen and sauna were refreshing, and the time spent enjoying French cuisine was truly wonderful. Thank you to everyone at Fujiya Hotel for your kindness!

    I had a relaxing stay.

This was my first time staying at Rainbow Plaza. Being on the riverside, I enjoyed the view of lush greenery and the arrival and departure of Romance Cars through the large window. Opening the window slightly allowed me to hear the soothing sound of the river, which was very relaxing.

I would like to use it again.

This is my second stay. The place is clean, quiet, and has a calm atmosphere. Perhaps by chance, I did not see any large tour groups during my stay. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, and breakfast was Western-style; both were delicious. The bath was also very relaxing. I would love to stay here again.

    The location is excellent.

This was my first stay at the accommodation. I had only admired it from the car window before. **Impressions** The service at the front desk and entrance was exceptional, as expected from a long-established accommodation. Smart, elegant, and pleasant hospitality. **Room** Stayed on the 9th floor in a Japanese-Western style room. The room was spacious, clean, and had a great view. However, I found the amenities slightly disappointing—comparable to those of a business hotel. **Dining** Had Chinese cuisine for dinner; it was delicious. However, the atmosphere felt lonely—perhaps due to either the large space or fewer guests present? Breakfast buffet was average. **Bathing Area** Receiving towels at the large bath reception area was convenient. However, I noticed that some face towels seemed overly worn out and tired-looking—a bit disappointing. The post-bath relaxation lounge was spacious and comfortable; perhaps because it was past 10 PM when I visited? The reclining chairs with ottomans were very comfortable to sit in! There were also beautifully arranged flowers that added charm. Overall not bad; however... something felt missing... Perhaps adding more vibrancy or elegance within the facility would enhance its appeal further?

    I had a relaxing time.

Stayed at the accommodation as a late Mother's Day gift for my elderly mother. The layout of the Japanese-Western style room we reserved was spacious, and we loved the open feeling with a view outside. We enjoyed Chinese cuisine for dinner and had breakfast at the café instead of choosing the buffet. We would love to stay here again when we find time.

I visited with my elderly mother and brother this time. It was our first stay, and we were accommodated in a renovated Room, which was very spacious with three beds and a sofa set that was very convenient. The bathroom had two sinks, which was also great. Dinner was a delicious kaiseki course meal, and the staff's attentive service made it very satisfying. Breakfast was a buffet; however, I would rate it as average due to the limited variety of dishes and the challenges in handling the large number of guests. Regarding the bath area, it felt crowded and somewhat disorganized due to many international guests, which was slightly disappointing. I hope to visit again during a quieter period. Thank you!

    Conveniently located near the station

Located less than 5 minutes from Hakone-Yumoto Station, this accommodation is very convenient. The open-air bath has a roof, allowing guests to enjoy it even on rainy days, and the natural surroundings are truly relaxing. However, the room cleaning was disappointing. Dust had accumulated on the bed's headboard, and a previous guest's dried-up contact lens was left behind. The TV's VOD lineup was also underwhelming. On a personal note, as I stayed with the intention of relaxing in the room, I wish Fire TV had been supported. Other than that, everything was great. The staff at the lobby and bath reception were friendly, making for a comfortable stay overall.
