    Could it be due to a staff shortage?

    I’ve always loved The Busena Terrace, but this time it felt like there were fewer experienced Hotel staff. I used to feel that the staff’s elegance and service were truly outstanding, and it was a Hotel that made me want to come back again. However, during this stay I saw many busy staff members and younger employees, and it felt different from before. There didn’t seem to be much room to breathe, and I didn’t see many smiles. A foreign guest brought a mobile phone into the spa bathing area. A spa staff member came right away and handled it, but I felt uncomfortable—perhaps because there are many guests who don’t follow proper etiquette. The Busena Hotel represents Okinawa—no, perhaps Japan as well. Please keep up the good work.

    Your First Stay at The Busena Terrace

    The staff service, check-in experience, valet parking, Room decor, and the spacious lobby all felt more luxurious than other Hotels. Unless you step out onto the balcony, you cannot see other Rooms, and the view is great, so I recommend an oceanfront Room. Next time, I would like a Multiple Night Stay.

    A mother-and-daughter trip

    Everything was exceptional. It had everything I wanted to experience in Okinawa. The breathtaking view the moment you step into the Hotel, and the open design that lets a pleasant breeze flow through. A white sandy beach and crystal-clear sea are just steps away from the Hotel. There are also walking paths on the grounds, making it perfect for a stroll in nature. The staff were wonderful, and even after checkout you can use the pool and baths for free, and they will lend you a locker—so there’s nothing to worry about. It’s not an inexpensive Hotel, but it’s worth every yen. My daughter says she definitely wants to come again too.

    A Resort Hotel-like atmosphere in Hawaii

    The Hotel felt spacious and relaxing throughout, and it was easy to get around, with convenient access to the restaurant and the large public bath. We didn’t use it, but the indoor pool also looked large and enjoyable. We chose the Japanese dinner Plan, but it was just a standard kaiseki-style set menu. On top of that, each dish portion was quite large, so we couldn’t finish everything and felt it was wasteful. An older couple at the next table ordered a few items à la carte, which honestly made us envious. At a Resort Hotel with an on-site restaurant, ordering à la carte rather than a set menu may be the better choice. For reference, we are also an elderly couple. All staff were pleasant, and aside from the dining menu, everything met our expectations.

    Travel to Okinawa to enjoy breakfast at The Busena.

    We traveled to Okinawa mainly for the breakfast here. At check-in, we received a warm welcome in a pleasant breeze. When we were shown to our Room, everything was explained carefully so we had no trouble with the basic operations. For breakfast, just relaxing with a coffee while looking out at the sea made us feel, “We’re glad we came.” The staff were wonderful, the view was beautiful, and valet parking made everything easy. The only downside was that the man at checkout seemed curt and it bothered me a bit, but it’s still a lovely Hotel that makes me want to visit Busena again.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. If a Hotel stay is about enjoying an “escape from everyday life,” the view from the entrance and the seamless route from the pool to the beach are outstanding. It truly feels like being abroad—like Hawaii. Luxurious design and simply wonderful. We stayed in the Deluxe Natural High Floor <Twin>. It was spacious enough for two adults and one 3-year-old. In reality, we only use the Room for sleeping, so an overly large Room would be more than we need. All staff were kind and pleasant. We enjoyed both breakfast options—the buffet and the Japanese set meal. The Chinese dinner was also delicious. The bath had limited hours (10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), so bathing before breakfast was not possible. The size is modest—more like a small extra alongside the pool. One disappointment was that we couldn’t use the aged awamori (kusu) bar. I’m not sure if it was seasonal or if it is usually closed, but I always look forward to visiting a Hotel bar, so this was unfortunate. This is only my fourth visit to Okinawa’s main island (though I’ve been to the Yaeyama Islands more than 20 times), but The Busena Terrace has become my favorite. I would recommend it whether you’re traveling as a couple, with family, or with friends.

    Spending time on the terrace while watching the sunset is the best.

    I stayed at Halekulani until the day before, but moved to The Busena Terrace just for the last night. As it turned out, I felt more relaxed at Busena and liked it better! I wish I had stayed at Busena from the first day. Breakfast is better at House Without a Key, but you can go there to eat even if you’re not staying there, so I felt that staying at Busena was the better choice. That said, during check-in, the male staff members didn’t smile at all and gave off a “is this really hospitality?” kind of vibe. They seemed like senior staff, but I wonder why they didn’t welcome guests with a smile? Also, I stayed in a Room without amenities, and I really wished those were provided in every Room. There are a few things that stood out, but I liked it overall and plan to visit again next month.

    My Diamond membership was overlooked.

    As the title says. I was careless to assume there was no way I could forget something at a Hotel of this class, but I kept feeling “I think I’m forgetting something” from check-in until check-out, and I’m glad I checked. More than anything, I was shocked by the Hotel’s response afterward. Is a hotel credit of this amount basically worthless to guests at this Hotel? Or was it our fault for choosing a Hotel beyond our means? As expected of Busena, the Facility and meals were excellent. We stayed at The Terrace Club at Busena before, and we came back 10 years later with children because we were so impressed then. From now on, we will choose a Hotel that fits our means. Thank you.

    Everything was perfect.

    The Hotel’s location is excellent, and you can enjoy everything without needing to go out—everything is available within the Hotel grounds. You can look forward to an outstanding resort experience. The staff’s hospitality—especially the manager-level team during our stay—was exceptional, with prompt and courteous service that made our time truly enjoyable.

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days to celebrate my parents as well. The staff were very attentive, the Room and balcony were spotless and thoroughly cleaned, and we truly appreciate the surprise celebration cake you prepared for us. Everything was handled with great care, and we were extremely satisfied. We also really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime memory for our family. Thank you very much.

    The long weekend in February is very nice.

    I stayed at The Busena Terrace during the three-day holiday weekend starting February 21. After a busy December with many events that required extra care and attention, this was a well-deserved reward trip. I also used the hometown tax donation program and enjoyed delicious meals and the pool. The Room with an ocean-view balcony was truly exciting. I was glad the Room bathroom had soap and body lotion. I was satisfied with the service from the front desk and restaurant staff, and it was also great to take a relaxing walk along the beachside and enjoy the underwater observatory. I think this Hotel has the best location among Resort Hotels. For families with children, having laundry facilities is also very helpful. It was warm every day, so I wished there had been beach activities available, but I’m looking forward to enjoying a future season again.

    I had a wonderful time in paradise.

    I had a wonderful stay at The Naha Terrace before, so this time I splurged and chose the club floor. The service was outstanding, and since it was right after a holiday period, I was able to relax in a quiet, unhurried atmosphere. We were also lucky with the weather—the sunset from the club lounge was breathtaking. It truly felt like paradise. The Facility is spacious and offers many options such as the pool, so one night isn’t enough to fully enjoy it. Next time, I’d love to book a Multiple Night Stay. With my IKYU Diamond benefit of JPY 3,000, I ordered Room service for dinner and also had breakfast via Room service. The view from the balcony was lovely, and from check-in to check-out I could truly unwind in my Room and recover from everyday fatigue. The Hotel-made brown sugar nuts and chinsuko were delicious! I also loved the THALGO amenities—especially the scent of the bar soap. Thank you very much for taking such great care of me. I would love to visit again.

    A relaxing Hotel.

    The ocean view from the Hotel feels like Hawaii in Japan. Every restaurant was delicious, and we were able to relax and enjoy a truly fulfilling time.

    Excellent. I’d like to visit again, even after some time has passed.

    We stayed at The Busena Terrace for 2 of our 4 nights and 5 days over the year-end holidays, then spent the second half at Halekulani. Since we came from the airport by bus and didn’t have a rental car, we spent a lot of time in the Hotel on a staycation, but we never got bored thanks to the live music by the pool at dusk, the underwater aquarium, the large public bath, and the shopping mall. It also felt wonderful to take a nap with the window open and enjoy the breeze. We will definitely come back. Next time, we’ll stay at The Busena Terrace for all nights.

    A Hotel I Want to Stay at Again

    I stayed for two nights to visit Junglila Okinawa. Overall, it was a wonderful Hotel with a spacious and resort-like atmosphere. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and their attentive service was very impressive. The breakfast buffet was highly satisfying. Although I chose indoor seating due to the chilly weather, I would love to try the terrace next time. One slight disappointment was that the Hotel shop opened late; it would have been nice if it opened at 9 AM at least. Perhaps this is fine for those staying leisurely? Also, the lounge closed early—it had already closed by the time we returned from dinner, which was unfortunate. This time wasn't a stay focused on enjoying the Hotel itself, so I'd like to visit again just for that purpose! Thank you for your hospitality!

    The Busena Terrace is truly wonderful.

    I visited for the first time in about 20 years, and I was delighted to find that the excellent guest-focused service remains unchanged. The breakfast buffet was a daily highlight. With smoothies, pasta, soups changing daily, and delicious bread, it never got boring. The Room was clean and well-maintained, allowing us to fully relax. Since my family isn't great at swimming, we think the winter season is the best time to visit.

    The staff is excellent!

    Arrived at night. The warm drink offered during check-in was comforting, and my luggage was kindly carried from the car to the Room. Every encounter came with a greeting and a smile. While the breakfast staff seemed slightly less attentive, it was still better compared to other Resort Hotels I’ve stayed at. I overindulged in drinks at the lounge at night and ended up collapsing, but I am deeply grateful for being kindly escorted back to my Room.

    This trip to Okinawa was a honeymoon gift for my friends, and I chose your Hotel as the present. Thank you so much for your thoughtful gestures. As soon as my friends entered their Room, they called me saying they were almost in tears after seeing the towel art! After checking out, they contacted me again to say it was the best Hotel ever! As the one who gave them this gift, I’m truly happy that such wonderful memories were created for them. Even though I didn’t make any special requests, your warm hospitality touched us deeply.     Exceptional reliability!

    This was our second stay following last New Year. Once again, we received warm and professional service. The arrangements for a wheelchair and bathroom aids for my elderly mother were incredibly helpful. Above all, thanks to the attentive and courteous service of the staff, we had another elegant start to the New Year. As expected from an established Hotel, it truly stands out as a place where you can feel human warmth. Thank you very much! We will visit again!

    A Warm Winter Holiday

    It is truly wonderful. Although the building is old and the walls in the Room are thin, so you can hear children crying, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are excellent, leaving nothing to be desired. The entrance was also very lovely.

    Satisfied!

    I had the pleasure of using the lounge and enjoyed a comfortable, dream-like time. The staff were all kind and welcoming with their smiles, which made my stay very pleasant. I also enjoyed live performances at various locations. The souvenir shop offered high-quality items, and I found something I liked and purchased it. The only reason for deducting points is that I would have loved to tour the "Bankoku Shinryokan," the venue of the Okinawa Summit. When I stayed at a hotel that hosted the "Ise-Shima Summit" previously, there was an explanation and tour provided by staff, so I had similar expectations here. It would be wonderful if efforts could be made to ensure this place remains memorable for everyone in years to come. I look forward to staying again!

    We visit every year during the Christmas season. At the main dining restaurant, Fanouan, we enjoyed the Christmas menu paired with recommended wines. The Christmas tree displayed in the lobby is always gorgeous and has become one of our favorite highlights each year.

    Disappointing service at check-in.

    Opened 28 years ago, it still gives the impression of a high-quality Resort Hotel overall. However, the service from the middle-aged man at check-in was extremely poor. Without a single smile, he conveyed information in an unpleasant manner, which could hardly be called customer service. It wouldn’t be surprising if someone complained on the spot. The young woman who guided us to our room and other staff members were polite and left a good impression, making this experience all the more disappointing.

    Very disappointing

    We chose this Hotel for our first long-term stay with children, as it is known to be family-friendly, but it was very disappointing. It feels more like a Southeast Asian hotel rather than a Japanese one, so you need to adjust your expectations accordingly. Rooms: - Overall outdated, with only the toilet being newly renovated. The shower room had black mold and lacked cleanliness. Restaurant: - Breakfast is concentrated in one area, making it extremely crowded on weekends. - During lunch, even when asking the chef for assistance in serving food, they handed it over silently without any courtesy or friendliness. Service: - Overall low quality of service. Many foreign staff members are still in training and have communication issues. - Even Japanese staff often lack knowledge about their own Hotel and provide poor responses. - When making strong requests, excuses such as "it wasn't properly communicated" were frequently given instead of solutions—very disappointing. - Housekeeping was careless; they forgot to restock toilet paper and failed to prepare towels for children among other oversights.

    Dream Hotel!

    I have stayed at many hotels in Okinawa so far. This is my second stay with the Terrace Group, following The Naha Terrace. The admired Busena Terrace... a large and luxurious Resort Hotel! The meals were delicious, and all the hotel staff greeted us with warm smiles.

    Finally here! The Busena Terrace

    After several cancellations due to typhoons, we finally made it this time. We saw the hotel while riding the glass boat and thought, "We want to stay here!" It was even more amazing than we imagined. The staff were all smiling and efficient. Although there is a parking fee, it was very convenient as the car was brought to the entrance while we waited on the lobby chairs. Next time, it's definitely The Busena Terrace for us! The food had great variety and everything we tried was delicious. Thank you very much!
