It had been since last autumn, but this is an Accommodation that soothes me no matter when I visit. Of course, the Room and the Onsen are wonderful, as are the meals—modern French with witty, thought-provoking menus each time, and a Japanese breakfast made with carefully selected ingredients—but even more than that, I’m always delighted by the staff’s quiet attentiveness everywhere, including turndown service during both dinner and breakfast. I go outside the rear entrance to smoke each time, and there was a small bench that hadn’t been there before. Near the exit were several mats you can use on the bench. I was moved by these little touches and found myself even more captivated by Kokon. I’m already looking forward to deciding when to visit next.

As a car and racing enthusiast, I love the details of this Hotel. The weather wasn’t great this time, but I was glad I could still see Mt. Fuji from my Room. I always choose the “view assigned by the Hotel,” and you can enjoy it no matter which side you get. This time again, we had dinner at Robata Oyama, and it was delicious—we were very satisfied. I also really like the breakfast.

I am an Onsen enthusiast who stays over 80 nights a year, mainly in Izu. I have stayed at Kameya Keian more than 30 nights in the past, and this year I stayed for 4 nights. The cuisine was artistic in presentation, and the flavor—especially the richness of the dashi—was something no other Hotel or Ryokan can match; it was absolutely outstanding. The Onsen water quality is excellent, as expected of the historic Izunagaoka Onsen, making this a top-rated Onsen Ryokan. I will visit again.

This was our second stay as a couple. Just like last time, all the staff were friendly and attentive, and it reminded us what a wonderful Hotel this is. The Room and bath were of course lovely, but what truly stands out at this Hotel is the food. Since the menu lists only the ingredients, we try to imagine what will come—and it’s always even more creative than we expect, which makes it so much fun. Every time, we’re amazed by the presentation, combinations, and flavors, and my husband and I enjoyed dinner saying, “They’re geniuses.” And the paired wines are incredible! They’re so delicious that we’re surprised every time. We were happy to spend such a wonderful time here. We will definitely be back!

We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every dish was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room—very satisfied! They even prepared a celebratory plate at dinner, and it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We’d love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

This was our first stay. My wife, who is very particular about everything, said, “This Room is comfortable, so we’ll be fine,” and even wanted to cancel the other Hotels we had planned. We were wondering what to do for a four-week Hotel stay during our home renovation, so we consulted the front desk. Despite being busy, they kindly helped us, and as a result we changed our plans and stayed long-term. The breakfast selection was extensive, and my wife—who rarely eats out due to food allergies and usually has to cook for herself—enjoyed it every morning without getting tired of it. The lounge, the Onsen, and the parking were all excellent as well, and every staff member was very courteous. When we mentioned a concern about cleaning, they responded immediately. We are truly grateful that our long stay went smoothly. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

We had a very comfortable stay. The building has a stylish Japanese-modern design, and the food was delicious. The staff who welcomed us were very kind, shared various stories with us, and were friendly and reassuring. The staff assigned to our Room were also very kind. If I had to mention one thing, I wish the view from the bath in the Room had been better.

My friend and I stayed here to enjoy the outlet shopping. The Reviews were excellent, so we chose this Hotel instead of one inside the outlet—and it was absolutely the right decision! The room was spacious and relaxing, with a very comfortable double bed. The amenities were wonderfully well stocked, and we were truly impressed by the large, easy-to-use bathroom. For dinner we chose teppanyaki, which was outstanding. We were more than satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the ingredients, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine as well. If I could make just one request: after relaxing in the bath and before dinner, it would be even better if there were a place where we could enjoy an aperitif. Both the Facility and service were impeccable, and we had a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much—we would definitely love to stay again next time.

This luxury Japanese-style Ryokan with views of Mt. Fuji offered exceptional service. The view from the Room was stunning, and the windows were polished to a shine, which showed true hospitality. Both the in-room bath and the large public bath were comfortable and deeply relaxing. The meals were also delicious. The attentive service made our children happy as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

Thank you for taking care of us on our family trip. Check-in while enjoying a welcome drink was a nice touch, and the Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were two bathing options: a free open-air bath and a large public bath, and we could even see Mt. Fuji from the large public bath. Dinner was delicious across the board; although we were full by the end of the meal, the house specialty “Izu Mabushi” was light and refreshing, so we enjoyed it easily. Breakfast featured a variety of side dishes served in small portions on multiple small plates—beautifully presented, and every dish was tasty. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming, which made our stay even better. We would love to come again. Thank you very much.

I planned to share the Room name as part of a birthday message for him, and the Ryokan kindly helped by arranging a bouquet in the Room. Then, on the day, they upgraded our Room, which also made my message to him even more special, and it became a time that brought us even closer (lol). The staff were very kind, and since the bath was private to our Room only, we were able to relax and enjoy our time together. I would definitely like to stay again! Thank you very much.

All staff greeted us cheerfully, the guidance was courteous, and they even helped direct cars in the parking lot. The Accommodation was spotless and offered outstanding hospitality. Above all, the open-air bath was spacious, clean, and wonderful—it really helped us unwind. It was a shame we couldn’t go out onto the terrace due to bad weather, but we’d love to visit again on a sunny day. Thank you very much!!

This was a trip I had been looking forward to, imagining Hakone as a cool summer retreat. With the typhoon’s influence, the weather was unpredictable—sunny at times, then suddenly rainy… Still, during our stay at the Hotel it remained cloudy enough to go for a walk, and I was satisfied. My first impression of the Hotel was that the Rooms are arranged along the building’s curved structure, and I was truly impressed by how calming it felt no matter where you were. Since dinner coincided with a family birthday, we appreciated the congratulatory words and the thoughtful attention from the staff. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time and were very happy. Thank you very much. As for portion sizes, they were just right for me, and each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. For breakfast we chose the buffet. There was a wide variety—too much to try everything—but it felt a little cramped when carrying plates while choosing dishes. The guest room was clean and beautifully maintained. We could catch glimpses of Mt. Fuji from our Room, and we found comfort in the quiet of Lake Ashi and birdsong—it was very relaxing.

A lot has happened recently, and my husband took the lead and worked hard through it all. Now that things have finally settled down, we chose to stay here so he—and our dogs—could relax and enjoy some carefree time together. My husband said he was happy to experience something out of the ordinary again after a long time! The food was delicious, and we were truly satisfied with everything, including the Hotel staff’s hospitality and their thoughtful care for our dogs. Thank you very much for giving us such a wonderful time!

All staff are kind and welcoming, and the “welcome home” atmosphere feels wonderfully comforting. Dinner and breakfast are both delicious. You can fully enjoy the luxury of having the view from the open-air bath in your Room all to yourself. I would love to visit again.

This was my second stay, and the staff provided courteous service. The shuttle service to the station was convenient, the welcome coffee was delicious, the Onsen allowed for a relaxing experience, and the dining area served excellent food. I would love to stay here again when visiting Fuji City.

Both the Room and the staff member who assisted us were wonderful, and we were able to truly relax. As I casually looked out from the Japanese-style Room at the beautiful garden, a large grey heron was resting its wings by the waterfall. It was my first time observing one from so close, and I was thrilled. The thoughtfully prepared cuisine is always delicious, and this time again every dish was deeply impressive. Staying in a detached guesthouse felt perfect just being there, but I went out to make sure not to miss the live music in the lobby—and it turned into another wonderfully romantic moment. As often as time and budget allow, I would love to return again and again to unwind. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I always look forward to the seasonal parfaits, and whenever a new one comes out, I end up coming back. This time, I had the grape parfait and the Shine Muscat parfait. I went for a drive with my friend from Yamanashi, then met up with my husband at the Hotel. I checked in in the early evening. I relaxed in the Onsen and slept soundly. For breakfast, I had my usual favorite cheese omelet. It’s truly delicious—I always wonder how you make an omelet that tastes this good. And then, the grape parfait. I shared it with my husband’s Shine Muscat parfait and enjoyed both. They were beautifully presented—like edible art—and absolutely delicious. I had them last year too and couldn’t forget them, so I was happy to have them again this year. The staff’s smiles always make me feel at ease as well. What will the next parfait be?
