I stayed here while reuniting with my high school friends for the first time in 53 years. The stay was affordable, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

We stayed here again this year following last year. The Room was clean, equipped with necessary amenities and comfortable yukata, and there is even a small but satisfying public bath. The izakaya next door is very convenient for dinner. This time, we were especially moved when we opened the Room door after check-in and saw the stunning sunset through the window.

Because I expected to check in late at night for work, I chose this Hotel for its large public bath hours—open until 2:00 a.m., with a sauna—which are much longer than those at nearby Business Hotels. The building feels a bit dated in places, but it was acceptable. I also liked the comfortable two-piece loungewear instead of a yukata. It’s right after you exit the interchange, so it’s truly convenient—I’d like to stay again.

This was my first stay, and all the staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious.

I’ve stayed at several APA Hotels & Resorts, and I’m impressed every time by how wonderful the service is. The VOD includes recent movies (this time they already had the second part of *Wicked*!), the large public bath is spacious, clean, and relaxing, and the breakfast is luxurious and truly delicious. The Room is compact at 14 m², but because the bathroom area is efficiently designed, it feels more spacious than expected. Considering the reasonable price, I’m grateful for such a high level of service. Breakfast while enjoying the open view from the 40th floor was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The grilled fish was thick and perfectly tender, and even the broth served with their “beauty tofu” was delicious. There were so many great options—seafood rice bowls, clam ramen, smoked salmon, and more—that it was hard to choose, and it made me happy from the very start of the day. They also cleared plates promptly, which made everything feel comfortable. I had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a Room at Hakubaittei. The building is old, and the in-room toilet, sink, and bath felt dated, but everything was well cleaned and felt hygienic. The light switches were unresponsive and had a delay before turning on, which was inconvenient. The Onsen baths offer a wide variety and were very satisfying. There are also many open-air baths. The changing area was clean as well. There are several entrances to the baths, but when using the entrance near the front desk, the cold-water dispenser was only located between the changing area and the bathing area. It would have been nice to have a cold-water dispenser with cups near that entrance or in the changing area. There were dispensers near other entrances. The meals weren’t anything special, but everything tasted good. The service was also good. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was delicious, with shabu-shabu, tuna sashimi, and kamameshi even in the morning. I chose this Accommodation for the baths and food, so it was absolutely the right choice! I’d like to stay again.

This time I wanted to try fishing at Kesennuma Port, so I stayed at this Accommodation because it’s close to the fishing spots. It’s located on a hill right in front of the port, with a great view. From the main entrance you can overlook all of Kesennuma Port, and it was such a refreshing place. What’s more, thanks to the very unique elevator tower, it was super convenient—I could get to the fish market on ground level in just 2–3 minutes. The building itself feels a bit retro and has a Showa-era vibe, so it may not be for everyone, but I found it very comfortable. What really impressed me was the night view of Kesennuma Port—and the sea urchin and hoya! The scenery completely changes from daytime; with the illumination it felt almost like a theme park. I was truly moved. I also enjoyed night fishing while taking in the lights—please do see it in person if you can. And the dinner served this time—sea urchin on its shell and hoya sashimi—was incredible. The sea urchin I had before at a Hotel in Minamisanriku was delicious too, but Kesennuma’s sea urchin is no joke! It had rich sweetness and umami and tasted amazing. The hoya sashimi may have been the best I’ve ever had. The ocean aroma and perfectly firm texture were irresistible for anyone who loves hoya. All staff were polite and very pleasant. Some seemed new, but their sincerity came through, and it made me feel this is a well-run Hotel. I suppose there’s no helping that some Facility areas are a bit old, but even taking that into account, I’d definitely like to stay again.

The thorough explanation of the facilities at check-in and the attentive service at the buffet restaurant were excellent.

My monthly staycation is usually at a Hotel in my local Minato Mirai area, but this time I went a bit farther to Hotel Indigo Gora. I drove there alone, and the winding mountain roads in Hakone were a little tiring. I arrived before check-in and planned to relax at the footbath, but as soon as I parked in the outdoor lot in front of the Hotel, a staff member came right away and helped with my luggage. The welcome drink and Umaibo snack were a nice touch, and being able to check in comfortably while seated is one of those pleasures you expect from a Hotel of this class. When I entered my Room with the staff’s guidance, I couldn’t help saying, “Beautiful!” out loud. It’s a compact Hotel with around 100 rooms, but the Japanese-modern design—combining a raised tatami area with beds—was truly charming. I usually prefer modern Hotels, but this stay reminded me how calming and appealing Japanese-modern style can be. For dinner, I ordered à la carte at the on-site restaurant. The shrimp, scallops, and abalone in the bouillabaisse were surprisingly tender; the burrata was rich and paired perfectly with tomato and basil. The white wine went down easily. Since I don’t eat much, I also appreciated having à la carte options instead of only set courses. The bath in my Room was spacious, and I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen at leisure. The breakfast buffet also impressed me in both variety and quality—especially the green beans dressed with sesame sauce, which tasted far better than anything I could make at home. Even as someone who eats lightly (and can be picky), it was more than satisfying. The hospitality from everyone on staff was excellent, and the entire property was beautiful and comfortable. It was a wonderful Hotel that made me want to return again.

With an Onsen, close to the station, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and a convenience store nearby—all at an affordable price. We were very satisfied.

This riverside Accommodation was truly wonderful. Meals weren’t the typical one-set Ryokan style; there were several choices available. The portions were just right—not too much—so I could sleep well at night, and I also felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout. I was especially grateful that, unlike many places, there was no noise from children during meals, so I could enjoy everything quietly and at a relaxed pace. Dining while enjoying the cool breeze and scenery through the riverside windows became an unforgettable time. For bathing, I used a private bath. Because I have surgical scars, I was most grateful that they prepared a private bath where I could bathe with peace of mind. The free-flowing natural spring water was beautifully pure and felt cleansing even to the soul. The Room had double-pane windows for soundproofing and insulation, showing how carefully it had been renovated. Since I’m not used to sitting on tatami floors in daily life, having a bed and table made the Room very comfortable, and I appreciated that consideration. Also, as someone with strong cleanliness preferences, I really appreciated the small but thoughtful touch of providing unopened individually wrapped pocket tissues instead of a partly used box of tissues often found in Ryokan. The meals were also pleasing for someone like me who pays attention to additives; in particular, they had a nostalgic flavor that reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking—she was especially good at German cuisine. The juice served was freshly squeezed as well, and it was clear that each dish had been prepared with great care. I was genuinely happy to find an Accommodation like this in Japan. Both the proprietress and her husband were very friendly and interacted with me at just the right distance—even though I’m shy—so my stay felt truly comfortable. If I have another chance to visit Gero Onsen, I would love to book a Multiple Night Stay—starting the morning with German beer and then enjoying lunch as well. Stayed here when visiting Suzuka Circuit. There is a FamilyMart next door, which was very convenient. The accommodation was clean and well-maintained.

The parking lot was spacious and convenient. The Room was clean and functional! The only slight dissatisfaction was the lack of a nearby convenience store, but while exploring, I found a yakiniku restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner. I appreciated the staff's thoughtful gestures, such as the handmade map.

A luxury to soak in the hot water while listening to Japanese bush warblers during the day and a chorus of frogs at night. The spring-inspired meals were also delicious and truly enjoyable. There aren’t any particularly special amenities or services, but everything feels comfortable—from walking barefoot on the tatami floors throughout the property to the subtle aroma in the air—and it’s genuinely relaxing. The building seems old, but it’s kept very clean, with no faults at all. It was so quiet that I could clearly hear the pleasant snoring from the next room—perhaps part of its charm. The Onsen is, of course, wonderful as well.\nI would definitely love to visit again.

I realized upon arrival that I had stayed here once for work about 25 years ago. Perhaps it has been renovated since then, because the Room doesn’t feel dated at all. Oh—there is a card key, but it’s not the type that turns the power on when inserted (though it does have an auto-lock). The charging connectors support various types, giving me the impression they’ve tried to accommodate guests’ detailed needs as much as possible. The welcome drink was made with a single-cup machine, so I could enjoy a delicious coffee. The rental bicycles are also great value: 500 yen for 1 night and 2 days, and you can use them until check-out. It was very helpful since I needed to go out at night. A helmet is included as well.

Although we checked in late after watching Monbetsu Horse Racing, we were warmly welcomed. They upgraded our Room, and since it was our wedding anniversary, we were very happy. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

I love British antique furniture, so this is a pension I’d been curious about for a long time. The three of us stayed as a family. The furniture, tableware, and paintings—said to have been collected by the previous owner—were all just as I expected: tasteful and wonderful. Definitely worth seeing. I gave it 4 stars because the Facility is a bit old and the soundproofing isn’t great, but everything is very clean, the owner couple are lovely, breakfast was truly delicious, and both the bedding and bath were comfortable. The parking lot is spacious and it’s close to the Tomei interchange as well… for this price, it’s an excellent value. I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The staff service was excellent, and there were no particular issues with the in-room Facility. I had a very comfortable stay. One concern: I assumed the room door would close automatically when I went out, but it caught partway and ended up being left open while I was away. For the bathing Facility, it would be convenient if amenities such as toothbrushes and razors were available in the bathing area.

Our children were delighted, and we had a wonderful time. We really appreciated the Room upgrade, and when our siblings argued over the amenities, the front desk staff responded flexibly and helpfully. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I had another truly comfortable stay. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, with fresh, spotless linens, and a wonderful view. I ordered Room service for dinner and tried the Japanese breakfast for the first time. The timing of the service and the taste were both excellent. Above all, the food was delicious. The hospitality was also outstanding, and I was able to relax until the 1:00 PM checkout time. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again.
