The service was very attentive, and since we arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled meal time, they kindly allowed us to delay it. Although this is a historic Onsen Ryokan, the property is impeccably maintained throughout, and we felt thoughtful attention to detail and quality in every corner. And finally, the greatest highlight here is definitely the Onsen! There are many different types of baths on site—so many that we seriously discussed “the best order” to try them all (laughs)! We were so busy enjoying the Onsen that we didn’t have time to relax with drinks in the lounge. That just gives us an excuse to come back. In short, our family of four thoroughly enjoyed this stay with dinner and breakfast included. The Room, cuisine, service, and Onsen—all exceeded our expectations. This Accommodation comes highly recommended for anyone who loves hot springs or wants a relaxing time at an Onsen Ryokan. We would love to stay again!

I stayed at Izutsuya again for the first time in decades. When I was younger, I went to Yumura Onsen by car with coworkers on what we called a summer trip, and as the organizer I chose Izutsuya because the Onsen and cuisine looked excellent. I don’t remember much from back then, but I clearly remembered the food and baths, and this time as well we enjoyed delicious meals and the Onsen just as before. However, since we visited during an extremely hot midsummer period, the strong sun and Arayu left us a bit tired. Next time, I’d love to come when the courtyard has an autumn feel.
