Although it rained unfortunately, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which left a strong impression on us! The building was lovely, and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. Everything we needed for our dog was provided. The meals were also delicious—we were truly impressed. We’d love to visit again.

This is a very popular ryokan that’s hard to book, with excellent reviews, so I was really looking forward to staying here. From the moment I stepped into the entrance, it felt like such a pleasant space. The room was spacious as well, and I could look out over Lake Shinji from the window—it truly made me feel, “I’m in Matsue.” I relaxed in the open-air bath in my room, and the large public bath was wonderful too. The complimentary ice cream after bathing was a nice touch. Every dish at dinner was delicious, and even though I thought I couldn’t eat another bite, I still enjoyed the final eel rice dish. You can feel thoughtful attention to detail throughout the property. Above all, every staff member was fantastic, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The facilities, food, service, and hospitality were all impeccable. The next morning I planned to take a taxi to JR Matsue Station, but due to a taxi shortage I couldn’t secure one. When I wasn’t sure what to do next, they kindly drove me at my requested time to Matsue-Shinjiko-Onsen Station. From there there are relatively frequent buses to JR Matsue Station, so it was easy to get there without any trouble. The taxi shortage wasn’t the ryokan’s fault at all, but their willingness to help in this situation really saved me. Thanks to them, it turned into a wonderful stay. I would love to visit again.

Our family of four stayed in the Black Ship Suite for 2 nights and 3 days. We found this Room last year and had been wanting to stay here. It was spacious and very clean, and outside the window was the black ship (the Susquehanna). It truly was an amazing space! Because we chose a Multiple Night Stay, we spent all of the second day in the Room, enjoying the open-air bath, hinoki bath (cold bath), and sauna all day long. We cooled down on reclining chairs in the large changing area, relaxed in the massage chair, and lounged on the Yogibo—each of us was able to enjoy an incredibly luxurious time. It was also great that the amenities included CHANEL, Dior, Shu Uemura, and more. On the second day, we were happy that not only bath towels but also mineral water, beer and juice in the refrigerator, plus different snacks and sweets from day one were replenished for us. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes with beautiful presentation. Everything was delicious, and both days featured completely different menus (with different ingredients), which showed the chef’s thoughtful care. All of the staff were kind and courteous, and we felt their hospitality came from the heart. Everyone’s smiles were wonderful. After breakfast on day three as we were leaving the restaurant, someone said to us, “Thank you for staying with us for two days,” which surprised us—in a good way—and made us feel grateful as well. The Hotel itself has a Showa-retro sense of age to it, but it became a Hotel we definitely want to return to. (It’s a shame I couldn’t upload photos for some reason.)

This was my first stay. Even though I checked in late, I was warmly welcomed. The room felt spacious for a single, and the furnishings were high quality, allowing me to relax both physically and mentally. I usually skip hotel breakfast, but after reading the reviews I decided to try it. The Japanese set meal was well balanced and generously portioned, and I was very satisfied. The restaurant staff provided excellent service, making it a very comfortable experience. I would like to stay again.

From the moment we arrived until we departed, every moment was comfortable and truly luxurious. We were delighted with everything—the atmosphere, the room, the bath, and the meals—but above all, the attentive hospitality and thoughtful care from all of the staff made us want to return again. I am left-handed, and at dinner on the first night I moved my chopstick rest myself. Then at breakfast the next morning, my chopstick rest had been set up for a left-handed guest, which truly moved me...! Thank you so much for noticing even such a small detail.

We stayed here on the second day of our 4-night, 5-day driving trip through Tohoku, Niigata, and Kusatsu. We enjoyed baked sweets and coffee in the salon next to the courtyard before heading to our room. Dinner was French cuisine made with local ingredients—beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned for our taste. What impressed us most was the bath: both the large public bath and the open-air bath had wonderfully silky water that left our skin so smooth! The temperature was just right, and we were able to relax at ease. The kiritanpo hot pot for breakfast was also delicious, and we were very satisfied. Above all, we loved everyone’s warm smiles. The hand-drawn map by a staff member was also soothing. We’d love to visit again in a different season.

I stayed for one night while sightseeing in Otaru. The Hotel has great access to the main street, and there is a convenience store right next door, which was very convenient. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, all delicious—I was almost disappointed that I couldn’t finish everything. Since the Hotel is new, it was clean overall, but it was a bit disappointing to find mold around the Room’s plumbing areas (such as the base of the sink faucet and the corners of the bathtub). That said, the staff were courteous and helpful, and I had a comfortable stay. I would like to stay here again when I visit Otaru.

The Room was spotless and felt very comfortable. The large public bath is great—beautiful, and the cool body soap and shampoo felt wonderful on a hot, humid day. The showerhead is Mirable and the hair dryer is ReFa—amazing. Both were very pleasant to use. In the large public bath, there are cleansing oil, face wash, toner, and emulsion, so you can pack light. You can also borrow a hair iron. Breakfast was delicious!! I ended up getting seconds of rice. The pork miso soup? The miso soup was packed with ingredients and really tasty. I completely understand why it’s rated so highly. I also get why people say it’s a Hotel they don’t want to tell others about. The staff were kind, and the whole Hotel had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely come again!!! It was so much fun.

I stayed here again on a trip to Kyoto with my daughter. As always, I was completely satisfied with the hospitality, the food, and the location. In every situation, the staff’s service was truly outstanding. I would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

This was my third stay. It’s a bit away from Dogo Onsen and there isn’t much around, but the room comes with an open-air bath and is kept very clean. The elaborate meals were as delicious as ever, and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes with generous portions. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and considering the price and level of service, it’s the best value among all the places I’ve stayed at so far.

Beppu for the first time in a year—and GAHAMA Terrace. Nothing to complain about; we had a very comfortable stay. I really do love this place. I also love the view from the maisonette—being at eye level with the sea is wonderful—but it might be better if the plants were trimmed a bit. I know they grow back quickly in summer, so it may be difficult, but from inside, having the ocean fill the entire window is simply perfect. We’ll visit again when it gets cooler. GAHAMA is amazing, and Beppu is amazing too.

We had planned to stay before the Obon holidays, but a typhoon was approaching, so we exchanged emails with the staff several times. The staff were very polite and helpful, and thanks to them we were able to change our dates smoothly. It was a 3-night, 4-day stay, and we were very satisfied with the welcome drink upon arrival and the thorough explanation from the staff. The Room was clean, and the amenities—including complimentary bath salts and bath bombs—were wonderful. We had seen in a Review that breakfast involved waiting, but since we entered the breakfast venue right when it opened at 7:00, it wasn’t an issue at all. Both the Japanese and Western options were delicious, with fresh local vegetables included. We definitely want to return! Because it’s in a nature-rich area, I wouldn’t recommend it for those who dislike insects. In our case, my husband grew up in the countryside and was delighted whenever he spotted big frogs, spiders, or grasshoppers on the Facility grounds.

Recently, I had been staying mostly at foreign-owned Resort Hotels, but I was truly impressed by the outstanding balance and high standards in every aspect—service, cuisine, Room quality, and the Onsen. It reminded me of the exceptional level of Japanese hospitality.

I first learned about this Accommodation in a travel magazine and had wanted to visit for years. From the moment I made my Reservation, the staff reached out several times with thoughtful messages, which felt truly warm and welcoming. I’m grateful for their kind advice on transportation as well as nearby recommended spots and restaurants. Set on a vast property, the Accommodation offers wonderful views, and I was thrilled to encounter deer while strolling around. The Onsen had excellent water quality, the Facility was well maintained, and I was able to unwind and soothe my fatigue while enjoying the scenery. A local regular I spoke with in the bath said they stay here every month—I couldn’t help but envy them. It was an outstanding Accommodation where both mind and body could fully relax. I would love to visit again. Every staff member was gentle and attentive, and their hospitality made it possible for me to truly feel at ease throughout my stay—each day felt happy. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

Conveniently located on a main road near Hakata Station’s Chikushi Exit, making it very easy to access—yet it was surprisingly quiet. I stayed in a top-floor room, which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Everything you might need is available near the front desk. I was especially happy to find makeup remover cream, toner, emulsion, a toothbrush set, a hairbrush, and even face masks provided. There was also a wide variety of tea bags. All the front desk staff were cheerful and welcoming. What I appreciated most was that there is no cancellation fee until the evening of the day of arrival. Since live events can be canceled at short notice, this really helps. It was a wonderful hotel. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Having visited Yoko no Kaze before, we stayed here this year. Our family has grown, and our daughter-in-law joined us as well. They kindly prepared Rooms next to each other for us. At Kumoba Terrace, we took our time enjoying alcohol and fresh juice, and the lit bonfire and birch forest were truly soothing. In the spacious, clean Room, we relaxed in the Onsen brought from Ueda City. The cuisine was outstanding—seasonal and beautifully presented. We enjoyed everything from the scallop takikomi rice to dessert, though the portions were a bit large for me. As it was our daughter-in-law’s birthday month, we requested a surprise message plate. She was very happy, which made us glad as well. Thanks to the thoughtful staff, we were able to add another precious family memory. Thank you very much.

I finally got to visit Ureshino Onsen, which I’d been wanting to go to for a long time! I stayed with two female friends, making three of us. It rained that day, and we got a bit lost on the mountain roads before arriving—I was glad we didn’t get there too late at night. The Room was spacious enough even for three people. The cypress bath in the Room was wonderful—I lost count of how many times I used it. We also really enjoyed the large public bath! We couldn’t use the facilities over at Taishoya this time, so I definitely want to come back! The spring water quality was truly silky and lotion-like—an Onsen I absolutely loved. For meals, the tofu at breakfast was delicious, and the sesame soy sauce topping was amazing too! It had just the right amount of privacy, and all the staff were so kind—thank you very much.

We stayed as a couple. It was a beautiful, wonderful Hotel. The Room was great, and the large public bath was excellent. The counter seats at breakfast are also recommended. It was very tasty and enjoyable while looking out over the streets of Fujieda. If you come to Fujieda, this is a must-stay Hotel!

My spouse and I stayed on Thursday, September 24. The moment we entered the Room, we felt it was simply lovely. It was very functional, and we had a comfortable stay. The Room only had a shower, but we used the bath that can accommodate 4–5 people, and it was easy to use as well. If it were a little more spacious, it would be perfect! Breakfast was a buffet where you pick up small side dishes, with plenty of variety, and we were very satisfied. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were pleasant and made us feel at ease. If I have another chance to visit Kochi, I would like to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Staying here makes my memories of Osaka even warmer—this is my favorite and best Accommodation. I look forward to staying with you again next time.
