I arrived a little earlier than the expected arrival time I entered during the Reservation, but I was promptly picked up, which was very helpful as it was snowing. The Room was lovely, and the meals were extremely delicious. It was a trip for a special occasion, and I had a luxurious day that made it truly memorable. I would love to stay here again.

We stayed for two nights from 7/18 (Sat) in a Japanese-Western Room with a large open-air bath. Just as advertised as “the largest in Hokuriku,” the open-air bath was spacious—a luxurious space where adults can fully stretch out their arms and legs. That said, it does require some consideration for women. Across the river is a long-established restaurant; during business hours their windows are left open, so you do feel conscious of being seen. About 30–50 cm around the tub has no screening at all, so I felt it would be helpful to have reed screens or bamboo blinds available so guests who are concerned can adjust them themselves. My husband didn’t mind at all and was completely satisfied—he still says it was the best open-air bath he’s ever had. Since there was no explanation on arrival, we weren’t sure at first, but we were amazed (and impressed) that we didn’t run into other guests in the elevator. The Room layout was extremely practical. Right next to the elevator is a walk-in closet with air conditioning, so you can hang clothes on one side and use the other side to dry wet towels and such. There is also a separate door and staircase used by attendants to bring in-room meals directly to the tatami living area without passing through. Because the living-room windows face near Korogi Bridge, people crossing the bridge could look down and make eye contact with us—shy guests might find this uncomfortable. About inside the Accommodation: there is a quiet, relaxing lounge on another floor. Each chair has great taste; I loved the design so much that I kept stopping by whenever I thought of it. There’s also a terrace overlooking the night sky and nature—it felt wonderfully open. The food was excellent—truly nothing to complain about. There were also hearty meat dishes that younger guests would enjoy; everything was delicious and we finished it all. In casual conversation with our attendant, we learned that the homemade desserts are made by the young proprietress herself. The melon bread panna cotta and strawberry mousse were incredibly good. They were so good that my plan to take leftovers from family members who don’t like sweets fell through (laugh). Overall, this Accommodation was perfect for resetting both body and mind. It was well worth driving eight hours each way in our own car. Thank you to my husband—and sincere thanks as well to everyone at Korogi-ro for your kindness and attentive service. Our attendant’s warm personality and gentle consideration were truly soothing. Even shop staff around Yamanaka Onsen town kindly spoke to us when we seemed lost. While looking for a place to travel about three hours from Osaka, I found this hotel in the perfect location. It’s easy to get there with a direct limited express train from Osaka, and there is a shuttle service from Kurayoshi Station. (Since it’s the last stop, there’s no worry about missing it if you doze off.) I also liked that the nearby sights are just the right size to explore in a single day. Even though I’ve lived in Japan for 32 years, this was still a wonderful place I hadn’t known about. Next time, I’d like to drive and visit some spots farther away from the hotel as well.

I’d stopped feeling any sense of novelty in staying in Karuizawa, but thanks to this hotel I discovered a completely new kind of enjoyment. Being able to check in without even a full minute’s walk from the Shinkansen ticket gates is impressive enough, but the rooms are simply extraordinary. Many luxury hotels these days rely on breathtaking views from high floors—but this is different. Here, you’re surrounded by truly beautiful furnishings and refined taste, and it made me realize all over again that the room itself is what defines a hotel’s value. I don’t think I can convey this happiness unless you actually stay here, so I’ll stop there—but on the night I got home, I fell asleep thinking how much I wanted to go right back and how wonderful everything had been. That doesn’t happen often. The understated service is lovely as well, and the breakfast, lounge, baths, and sauna are all amazing—but I won’t praise them too specifically because I don’t want it to get crowded (haha). In any case, I’m grateful to this hotel for adding an appeal to Karuizawa that simply didn’t exist before. Even as I write this, it’s making me want to go again...

It was a gift trip from my wife to celebrate my birthday, visiting the Furuyu Onsen I had been curious about for a long time. I was very satisfied with the wonderful service of the staff and the sense of care in cleaning. Enjoyed two days of onsen to the fullest. The head chef seemed confident in fish dishes, and we were completely satisfied with everything from sashimi platters to grilled fish. We had checked reviews beforehand and were prepared for the amount of food, but as a senior couple, we were completely overwhelmed. At checkout, I was deeply moved by a surprise birthday gift from the proprietress. Thank you so much. While everything was satisfying, there are some suggestions: ○ It would be helpful if guides such as facility maps, emergency exit routes, and meal times could be compiled into a file placed in each room. ○ Since it’s easy to forget meal times for dinner and breakfast, it would be nice to receive them written on printed paper. ○ The course meals crafted by your proud head chef are delightful but quite large portions for seniors. If possible, creating a senior-friendly course with about 60% of the current portion size would be appreciated. This time I wanted to enjoy more drinks but couldn’t because I was too full! Apologies for making selfish requests like this!

I stayed here to photograph the beautiful starry sky. Unfortunately, the neighboring lights were on during the night, so I couldn’t capture it well, which was disappointing. However, the Room facilities were excellent, and I would like to stay again.

This is my favorite pension and one I often stay at when visiting Nasu. The best part is the warm, homey atmosphere. We are always welcomed kindly, so our family can stay with peace of mind. The meals are delicious every time and you can really tell they are carefully prepared. It’s also a great bonus that there is an Onsen you can reserve for private use. There is a playroom where children can have fun, and you can feel the thoughtful attention for families with kids. Not only can adults relax, but children can enjoy themselves too, which makes it perfect for a family trip. No matter when we stay, the building and Rooms are always thoroughly cleaned, so we can spend our time very comfortably. It’s an Accommodation with warmth and comfort that’s different from a luxury Hotel. I think it’s easy to see why you’ll want to come back again and again. I’d love to stay here again the next time we visit Nasu.

I thoroughly enjoyed the famous Iwaizumi matsutake feast! Foil-baked, dobin-mushi, fried... Everything was delicious. I’ve been hoping to try this ever since I first visited as a disaster relief volunteer, so it was truly moving. I was lucky to take advantage of the Iwate Discount and stay at a great price. The delicious water of Ryusendo Cave, the beautiful Mt. Ureira, and the clear autumn air refreshed and recharged me! Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I was completely satisfied with my stay and truly felt, “I definitely want to stay here again.” First of all, all the staff were incredibly kind, and I was able to spend my time comfortably from arrival to departure. The Room was meticulously maintained and exceptionally clean. The open-air Onsen bath in the Room was a luxurious experience—I could enjoy the Onsen as much as I wanted, whenever I wanted. What stood out most was the outstanding cuisine. It featured an abundance of local ingredients, with such a wide variety that it couldn’t possibly all fit on the menu—and every dish was remarkably delicious. I could really feel the chef’s dedication and care. It was also very helpful that there were EV charging facilities. Being able to charge during my stay gave me peace of mind for the drive the next day. I’d love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

We stayed for one night with our pet, my wife and I, timed with our daughter’s visit home, with dinner and breakfast included. All the staff were consistently kind and spoke to us warmly, making our stay comfortable from arrival to departure—we were very satisfied. Meals were served in the Room, so even with our pet we could relax without worrying. The food was gently seasoned, full of wholesome dishes that felt good for the body, and everything was delicious—we finished it all. The large public bath was diagonally across from our Room, which was extremely convenient. The water had a smooth, gentle quality and the temperature was perfectly managed. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again and highly recommend.

This was our family’s first trip to Kushimoto. We made a Reservation for an ocean-view Room on a high floor, and we were lucky to have great weather—we even got to see a beautiful sunrise! The Room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and everything felt clean. The yukata fabric was sturdy and not see-through, and it had no odor at all (the highest compliment). I’m sensitive to smells—both unpleasant odors and strong detergent fragrances—so regardless of the Hotel’s grade I usually assume I won’t be able to use them, but this time I used the yukata a lot! Even though we chose an affordable Plan, dinner on the second night and breakfast on the third day were included as well, and we were surprised by the wide variety of dishes. Instead of bottled water in the Room, there was a water dispenser in the elevator hall (with hot water too), which we really appreciated. The bath area and changing room were also spacious, so we could truly relax. Bathing hours started early in the morning and ran late into the night, which gave us plenty of flexibility. We could adjust the air conditioning exactly as we liked—another reason it was such a comfortable stay. The staff members we passed in the hallways greeted us naturally, creating a refreshing atmosphere throughout. If I had to mention one thing: when using the Room slippers, I hesitated slightly wondering if they had been sanitized. At other Mercure properties I’ve stayed at before, this never crossed my mind. Overall, we were extremely satisfied! Thank you very much!

The room was spotless, odor-free, and exceeded the price! I especially liked the direct elevator to the hot springs that you can take while wearing a yukata. I was a bit disappointed that the breakfast buffet felt noisy because I went during a busy time, but since I stayed on a weekday and got a great discount, I was very satisfied overall!! I’d like to visit again!

The shuttle bus between the hotel and Maihama Station runs earlier than those of other hotels, which I really appreciate. This time I booked a last-minute room-assigned plan, but I was very satisfied—the sink area, toilet, and bathroom (with a separate washing area and bathtub) were all in separate rooms.

Even though I stayed on a Friday, I was kindly upgraded! The room was more spacious than expected, and I had a very comfortable stay. Whenever I go to Kyobashi, I will definitely stay here!

This was my repeat stay, and once again I felt it is an outstanding Hotel in every way. The thoughtful attention to detail, the staff’s naturally warm hospitality, and the impeccably maintained surroundings were all perfect. I have stayed at other Hotels on Kohama Island, but this is the only choice for me.

I stayed here with my boyfriend during summer vacation. We were extremely satisfied with the room! We booked a breakfast-only plan, but we were able to enjoy everything from afternoon tea to cocktail time in the exclusive lounge, so we were completely full. The room was truly spotless and even better than expected!

The Onsen offers a wide variety of spring qualities, and whether in the dome-shaped Roman-style large public bath or the open-air bath, it feels wonderfully spacious and warmed us through to the core. The meals featured an excellent selection of seasonal Hokkaido flavors and were delicious, and the Room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff were kind and attentive as well—an Accommodation we would gladly return to when visiting Noboribetsu again.

This was my first stay, and both the Hotel’s location and the surrounding area were great—I really felt I made the right choice choosing this Hotel (lol). The atmosphere of the Hotel was also amazing!

I suddenly got some time off and decided on a trip to Kyoto. Since I made the Reservation the day before, it was almost fully booked and I couldn’t choose the Room type, but the price was reasonable so I went ahead and booked. The building was very clean, and I was happy that the bath was an Onsen! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious—I was very satisfied. In addition to the welcome drink, there were plenty of free services to enjoy, which felt like a great deal… All of the staff were friendly, so I had a very comfortable stay. It was a last-minute trip, but I’m truly glad I stayed here. Super, super satisfied!!! One more thing: The aroma used throughout the property smelled wonderful and helped me relax even more.
