We traveled around Kumamoto by rental car with my spouse and our two sons, and stayed at Soan in two Rooms. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were kind and attentive, which made us feel truly welcome. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and we felt deeply relaxed after bathing. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, making this Accommodation a great choice for a family trip. I highly recommend it, and would love to stay again if we have the chance.

Although I was worried about the earthquake’s impact, I decided to visit from Kumamoto Airport. Perhaps because a week had passed since the quake, I hardly noticed any effects and was able to stay with peace of mind. Above all, I was amazed by how delicious the meals were. Dinner featured duck hot pot, miso soup, and rice cooked in a traditional pot; breakfast included nori seaweed, natto, and French toast. Every dish felt heartfelt, and I ended up eating far more than I expected. The Onsen was just as described in advance and helped relieve my fatigue. It was a truly satisfying stay. Lastly, I asked about the period “.” after Seifuso’s name that had caught my attention. Despite all the hardships you have faced—including the earthquake—I was deeply moved to hear that it represents putting a “.” (period) on these hardships and creating a new Seifuso going forward. Thank you very much. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again.

My wife and I visited from Kyoto. As it had not been long since the renovation, everything was very clean, and we had a comfortable one-night stay. The open-air bath in the guest room lets you fill it yourself—add cold water if it’s too hot, or add hot water if it’s too cool—so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. Both the hot and cold water flow were plentiful, making it a truly stress-free Onsen experience that’s hard to find. The meals were also excellent; each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and I felt the chef must be very talented. If I had to mention one minor complaint, it would have been perfect if we could have seen Mt. Aso clearly from the bath, but I understand that can’t always be helped.

I wasn’t sure if we would be able to come due to the typhoon, but they were very accommodating.\nThe Facility was well maintained, and the dog run was just the right size for our dog, who happily ran around.\nWe really appreciated being given rice for dinner.\nThe Room felt like a living room at home and had all the necessary appliances, such as a rice cooker and microwave, which we could use freely.\nThe owner was also very kind, and I’d like to stay here again when visiting Kumamoto.\nIt was a wonderful trip. Thank you.

Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide selection, including meat, fish, tempura, noodles, salads—everything you could want. The food is delicious. There are many kinds of desserts, and you can also take them back to your Room to enjoy. The herbal tea was excellent. The staff’s friendly greetings were wonderful. It’s a Hotel that’s hard to book, so if you get the chance, definitely give it a try.

This Accommodation features only 10 detached villas, surrounded by rice fields and the deep green of the mountains. You’ll be welcomed by Mi-chan, our resident cat, along with the friendly Kamo team. In the open-air bath attached to your Room, you might even be greeted by a tiny Japanese tree frog—small enough to fit on your fingertip. The meals are delicious and perfectly portioned. All staff were warm and welcoming, making our stay truly comfortable. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here for a birthday celebration trip. They were very helpful even before our stay, and my partner was truly delighted. We were extremely satisfied with everything, including the food, the open-air bath in the Room, and the staff’s service. It was an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again.

As soon as we arrived at the parking lot, Hotel staff came over and helped carry our luggage. The entrance, surrounded by trees, had a lovely atmosphere, and the Room felt comfortable with its modern Japanese style. The private open-air bath was pleasantly lukewarm—perfect for relaxing—while the large public bath was set to around 41°C, which felt just right. The water is clear and neutral in scent and taste, leaving a refreshing feeling after bathing. Dinner was a chef’s creative course menu, and each dish was carefully prepared—we were very satisfied. For us in our 60s, it was almost more than we could finish. The grounds are spacious, with spring water flowing into a pond with koi. The pathways are full of charm as well, but they are somewhat long and include slopes, so older guests should take care. At check-in you can receive feed for the ducks. Ducks (and cats) come close looking for food and are adorable, but they may compete for it; some guests were bitten when feeding directly from their hand, so please be careful. After an unexpected evening rain stopped, we looked outside late at night to find a sky full of stars. On clear summer nights, it seems you could lie back on the terrace couch and enjoy stargazing. I did wish the Room trash bin were a bit larger. The staff were thoughtful in many ways overall, making this a very pleasant stay.

My wife and I visit Aso a few times a year, and as we’ve gotten older, we’ve found ourselves spending more time relaxing rather than trying to see everything. We made an immediate Reservation based on the Accommodation name “Nonbiri Papa” and its great dining Reviews. After checking in, we had some time before dinner, so we started by unwinding in the private bath. Then it was dinner—the meal we’d been looking forward to! Starting with an Aso vegetable salad, followed by a handmade bacon cream stew wrapped in pastry, Amakusa sea bream, and Akaushi beef stew—everything was outstanding and we were completely satisfied. Since the Room is a separate detached building, we could relax without worrying about anyone around us. Surrounded by nature, with the owner’s warm smile and delicious food, it was the perfect laid-back getaway.

We were completely satisfied overall! The staff kindly checked in to make sure our dog was comfortable, which we really appreciated. The Room was spotless and very clean. The amenities provided were stylish as well. Everything for the light BBQ and the paella ingredients was fresh, delicious, and we were very happy with it. We brought our own alcoholic drinks. Making hot sandwiches in the morning was a great experience too, since there’s an easy-to-follow instruction sheet. It was hot during the day, but at night the temperature became comfortable, and we could relax with our dog in a hammock. The ger tent we stayed in was a little farther away, so we weren’t bothered by other families’ dogs. The only downside is that there are some spots where the internet connection is weak, but it’s actually nice for unplugging and chilling away from everyday life. We’d definitely recommend this place to friends who have dogs.

We stayed as a group of eight—my daughter and six grandchildren. There was a festival-style fair, and the kids were thrilled to use the pool both before and after meals. Above all, the buffet was delicious. We would love to come again with everyone.

The star-filled night sky was breathtaking, and the night trekking—something you rarely get to experience—was simply amazing. I was able to make irreplaceable memories with my 8-year-old daughter. Thank you so much.

It hadn’t been long since last month’s Kumamoto earthquake, and we weren’t sure if it was appropriate to travel, but we’re truly glad we came. Even my son, who doesn’t like fish, enjoyed the sea bream poêlé, and from the appetizers to dessert and breakfast the next morning, our whole family was very satisfied. Even after returning home, we keep reminiscing about the wonderful food and enjoying happy conversations. We would love to visit again.

We stayed here for a Multiple Night Stay about a week ago. The Room was the perfect size for two, with simple yet refined interiors and a very clean feel. The bath was made of wood, so we were able to enjoy a relaxing and wonderful soak without even going to an Onsen. Since our Room had a kitchen, we cooked and ate ingredients we bought at a roadside station. In the beautifully maintained garden with great views, there were benches and tables, so we had breakfast there and truly enjoyed it while feeling close to nature—it was very satisfying. At night, we could also gaze at Aso’s quiet, beautiful starry sky. What made our stay even better was how wonderful the owner is as a person. They were genuinely kind and thoughtfully suggested travel plans in Kumamoto and Miyazaki tailored to us. They also introduced us to truly delicious restaurants and lovely places that you can’t find in guidebooks or on Instagram. (Actually, during our trip in Aso I lost my engagement ring, and because on the last day we returned to Aso after visiting Takachiho Gorge, we were able to go to the recommended bakery and Oshitoishi Hill—and miraculously, I found my engagement ring!) The rice balls made from their carefully selected rice were also exceptional. Thank you for giving us such wonderful memories in Aso. We would love to stay again!

I’d been looking forward to the opening of La Vista Minami Aso and stayed during the pre-opening period. The previous Hotel also offered a magnificent, expansive view of Mt. Aso, and while that scenery remains unchanged, the interiors and Facility have been completely renewed. I was able to fully enjoy Aso in comfort—from the spacious lobby and Room to the baths. A few small notes: For the welcome drink in the lobby after check-in, I had coffee, but it would be even better if beer were available earlier (not only from 6:00 p.m.) and if decaf coffee were offered. As for dining, dinner was a La Vista–style course meal and breakfast was a buffet. Both featured many ingredients from Kumamoto Prefecture, and everything was delicious. I’d be happy if the breakfast buffet had a slightly wider dessert selection. The baths were wonderful as well—great views of Aso from the large public bath, plus private baths and a sauna. The post-bath ice cream and massage chairs were also a nice touch. It was disappointing that the probiotic milk drinks (Yakult) ran out quickly during my morning bath. The late-night ramen service common to Kyoritsu Resort was delicious (if I may be indulgent, I’d love it if there were two varieties like in Kirishima). Since it was during the pre-opening period, there may have been some areas where staff were still getting used to things; however, their sincere effort really came through. Wishing you all the best toward the grand opening. I’d love to stay again.

Used for solo travel. It's hard to find a place where you can stay alone, so I'm grateful just to be able to stay, but this was a very good property. Shared bath and toilet. The age of the building is undeniable, but it is well cleaned and above all, the food is delicious. The good cost performance is probably because the building's depreciation has ended. The owner is a good person, and it became a good memory of the trip.

Thank you very much for everything. Was it my first time staying at a pension in 40 years? We have stayed at many Ryokan and Hotels, but the meals here were outstanding. At our age we can’t eat large portions anymore (laugh), so having small amounts of truly delicious food was perfect for us. We were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast—we even felt compelled to express our thanks from our side. The private bath exceeded our expectations, with everything prepared, even a body-washing towel. My husband, who is usually quite strict in his opinions, gave full marks for the food and said he would definitely like to return. We hope to visit again in autumn. Thank you as well for seeing us off when we left. Thanks to the warm hospitality of such a lovely couple, we departed feeling wonderful. Please take good care of your health and continue running this wonderful pension for many years to come. Thank you again. All the staff were cheerful and energetic, and their service was excellent. The Room and the bath were spacious and comfortable. The view from the Room was outstanding. Every dish at dinner was delicious. I would definitely like to stay again when I visit Aso. Thank you very much.

The building itself feels a bit old, but it is clean and there were no inconveniences at all. The staff are friendly, making for a very pleasant stay. The parking lot is free and spacious, suitable for any type of vehicle. Above all, the location is excellent—perfect for sightseeing around Aso! A great Hotel you’ll definitely want to return to.

When I used to live in Kumamoto, I visited Aso many times. After moving away, my family decided to return to Aso to mark 10 years since the Kumamoto earthquakes. However, just before our trip, there was another earthquake. We considered canceling, but we didn’t change our plans. Some may think it wasn’t the right time, but I felt it was. In the end, I’m glad we went. Aso was as magnificent as ever. We were also able to visit the memorial for the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes and see areas affected by collapses, and cross the newly rebuilt Shin-Aso Bridge—I'm truly grateful we could do that. Recovery will take time again, but the people of Hinokuni are strong and won’t be defeated. That was a long introduction, but our stay this time was truly wonderful. It is an excellent Accommodation with great Facilities. If we have the chance, we would love to visit again. It seems it became an unforgettable memory for our grandchildren as well.
