All staff were very kind. We had a great time. The view from our third-floor Room was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

There are not many staff members, but it was easy to see which services they focus on, and I felt it is a comfortable and welcoming Hotel. The fresh flowers next to the elevator were very soothing. The Room was spacious and clean, and there was a water dispenser in the hallway where you can enjoy delicious cold water. The bath is an Onsen with plenty of space to relax, and breakfast in the morning was exceptionally delicious. I wanted to thank you in person for the wonderful breakfast, but our timing didn’t match. It helped me recover from my fatigue and left me feeling refreshed and energized.

We were blessed with great weather and were extremely satisfied with the stunning views and the delicious, carefully prepared dishes (there was more than we could finish). The Asian foreign staff member who served us was very courteous, and their smile in particular left a lasting impression, making our trip truly wonderful. It’s far away, but this is an Accommodation we’d love to visit again.

The baths and the meals were wonderful. I used the baths four times, and my skin felt so smooth. The portion sizes were just right, and both the Hida beef and the fish were tender and delicious. I would definitely love to stay again. When I visit Hirayu next time, I look forward to seeing you again.

Every year, I stay here on my way home from work. The Room with a view of Mt. Shari is spacious, quiet, clean, and has excellent air conditioning. The TV is small. The Onsen is also great. For meals, you can order à la carte at the restaurant and add a 60-minute all-you-can-drink plan for 1,500 yen. Sashimi dishes have disappeared from the menu... The staff are polite and welcoming, with friendly smiles.

We stayed for a family trip with breakfast only. The room has four beds, and thanks to the two-seater sofa and table, even four adults could relax comfortably. The bathroom area was spacious and clean, and we enjoyed a relaxing bath. The view from the window and from the restaurant was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious. Since this trip was mainly for sightseeing, next time we’d like to spend more time relaxing at the Hotel. Highly recommended.

The all-inclusive plan was very satisfying for families with children. I personally felt nostalgic about the little crunchy ice treats—they reminded me of my childhood, and they were really delicious! The Room was spacious and beautifully renovated, so it felt very clean. The building itself is probably older, so the unit bathroom was extremely small, but it wasn’t an issue since we could use the large public bath. The kids’ area was spacious and really helpful. We planned to use the pool, but it wasn’t open due to unexpectedly low temperatures and weather—this is my only regret. The food was delicious, and they didn’t strictly enforce time limits, so even while juggling our child we were able to eat plenty for the first time in a while. (My recommendations are the kanpyo with wasabi at breakfast and the simmered yuba at dinner.) Our 1-year-and-10-month-old son also seemed to enjoy his first Hotel stay—he was all smiles. (The surprise stuffed toy that came with our Room was adorable; he wouldn’t let go of it, and it made me happy too.) We will definitely come again! Thank you very much!

This was my first stay. The view from the Room was wonderful, right by Lake Hamana. Since it was summer, we brought handheld fireworks, and they kindly lent us a bucket and candles so we could enjoy them by the lakeside. They also provide a designated trash disposal area, so I highly recommend it. We chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast included and enjoyed buffet-style meals with a wide variety of options, including gyoza and eel—both my spouse and I were very satisfied. On the second day, an unexpected issue came up and we returned to the Hotel late at night; the staff assisted us. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

I stayed during the lovely summer season.\nBecause it was a weekday, they upgraded my Room, and I was able to enjoy a very spacious Japanese-style room.\nThe town itself has a calm, homey feel and hasn’t been overly commercialized for tourism; being surrounded 360 degrees by nature—green and blue—was truly refreshing for both body and mind.\nThe building has been renovated, so it didn’t feel old and everything was kept clean. However, from the entrance to the lobby there were everyday items that felt a bit cluttered, which was a slight downside for anyone looking for an escape from daily life.\nThat said, the gentleman at the front desk was very kind and warm-hearted, the meals (both dinner and breakfast) were delicious, and the staff’s thoughtful hospitality made me feel like “it’s like coming back to Grandpa’s house,” so overall I’m glad I chose this Accommodation.\nThere is an open-air bath, but it felt slightly exposed as if someone might be able to look in from outside, so in the morning I used only the indoor bath.

As the Facility has been renovated, it was very clean and comfortable. The Onsen water is clear simple spring water, and it differs slightly between the indoor bath and the mixed-gender bath. We were also told that each nearby Onsen Accommodation has its own unique features. Thank you as well for the staff’s hospitality.

We stayed for two nights as a family. As this is glamping within a golf facility, it’s set on beautifully maintained lawns, and we were able to relax very comfortably—almost like staying at a Hotel. Even though it was summer, insects didn’t bother us much. We did notice a slight vinyl-like smell from the tent, but the interior was spacious, with two air-conditioning units and adjustable lighting, so it was very comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean, which made it reassuring for women as well. The Italian meals were excellent and very generous in portion size. We stayed for two nights, and they changed the menu for us; everything was delicious. I can’t go into details, but they were also considerate of our picky-eating son—I felt sorry to trouble them—but we truly appreciated their thoughtful attention. Because it’s all-inclusive, I was disappointed that I don’t drink alcohol, but my husband does and seemed extremely satisfied being able to enjoy a variety of drinks without hesitation. We couldn’t make it to bar time due to our schedule, but it sounded like there was a great selection and we would have loved to try it. There is some distance between the clubhouse where you dine and the tent where you stay. Shuttle Service is generally provided, but if you want to walk instead, please note that walking may not be allowed during certain hours (possibly for safety reasons). At night, it was lovely to stroll from the clubhouse back to the tent while looking up at the sky. There’s also a “German Village” within driving distance; we enjoyed activities like putter golf with our children. We didn’t overpack our schedule and spent two relaxing days—making wonderful memories.

With its high ceilings, the space felt open and truly luxurious. Both the bath and sauna were spacious, allowing you to relax at your own pace. The sauna also offers self-service löyly, so it heats up properly—an authentic setup that even sauna enthusiasts will be satisfied with. It was also impressive how the concept was consistently carried through to the smallest details, from pajamas and cooking utensils to lighting, reflecting the owner’s careful attention. From the large windows, we enjoyed panoramic views of lush greenery and Mt. Omuro, which were soothing both in the morning and at sunset. For breakfast, we grilled dried fish ourselves; it felt special in a way that’s different from a Ryokan experience, and it was delicious. The space, Facility offerings, and views were all outstanding—an Accommodation we’d love to visit again in a different season.

Although we arrived much later than our scheduled check-in time, the staff kindly assisted us without any sign of displeasure. We are truly grateful. The three of us stayed, and the price per person was very affordable. Despite the low cost, it was a comfortable and wonderful Accommodation. We would definitely like to stay again next time. In Hida Takayama, I searched by price and chose this place because it was one of the cheapest and looked clean. For our family of five, we booked a Room with two large beds and two standard beds, and it was the perfect choice. The kids loved it because it felt special. I’ve stayed at many Hotels before, and this place was as clean as a luxury Hotel, plus it even had a drum-style washing machine. Great value for the price—highly recommended.

This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. First of all, thank you to the front desk staff for your courteous service from check-in onward. I carefully checked the weather forecast and decided there would be no snowfall, then hurriedly planned a trip to my beloved Hida Takayama and Okuhida. After leisurely enjoying the old town streets, I headed to the Accommodation and arrived around dusk—only to see white flakes falling from the sky. In the end, it worked out perfectly. The early-morning Onsen was a stunning open-air bath with snow viewing and a softly lit winter landscape. With no wind, I was able to enjoy a quiet moment all to myself and Clear away my daily fatigue and stress. The indoor bath also had a lovely interior and atmosphere, was beautifully cleaned, and I enjoyed a full hour—completely satisfied. The Yakult drink service in the post-bath lounge was another thoughtful touch; I ended up having three. Breakfast afterward was outstanding for someone who loves Japanese food—I had three large bowls of rice first thing in the morning. Hoba miso, “tsukemono steak,” kombu rolls, simmered ganmodoki, steamed vegetables, miso soup with fried tofu… And as if that weren’t enough, I even finished off some special curry rice. Now I’m slightly nervous about my next regular checkup with my hemoglobin A1c likely going up… On the way home I did some light exercise by strolling around Takayama again: Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the Takayama Festival Float Exhibition Hall, Hiroshige’s baumkuchen shop, a cat café, and more. This is an Accommodation I’d like to visit again anytime in any season—and one I truly hope to stay at again. Next time I’d love to try dinner as well. When I noticed the interior (tatami flooring?), it felt familiar—then I realized it’s part of the same group as Hida Hanazato no Yu Takayama Ouan. Once again, it struck me as a wonderful concept: clean and beautifully Japanese in style. Thank you very much.

Great location and amazing views. The Onsen was also excellent. The bath area was spacious, and having both a sauna and a cold plunge made it perfect. All the staff were wonderful as well. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you.

The meals were absolutely luxurious! All the staff were attentive and kind. The all-you-can-drink options at dinner were very extensive, and the glasses were kept chilled in a dedicated refrigerator, which felt very clean. The bath facilities were also great, and the locker keys felt very secure. Just one thing: the trash bin under the sink in the Room washbasin area hadn’t been emptied, so that was the only negative point.

I had never seen coral grass before, and since the Coral Grass Festival is in mid-September, I honestly didn’t have high expectations for an October stay. However, from the moment we entered the parking lot guided by the Kagariya signboard, all we could say was “Wow!” The two of us on this girls’ trip were greeted by a stunning view of fully bloomed coral grass. I had no idea the location was this perfect. Although the building is old, it was impeccably clean and comfortable. The highlight, however, was the food. When choosing the accommodation, I had looked at photos, and the simmered Kinki fish was the deciding factor. The freshly caught Kinki fish served was just as impressive, if not more. It was so delicious that we applauded. Every other dish was equally delightful, leaving us completely satisfied. We stayed in a room facing the lake, and the breathtaking view of Lake Notoro from the window in the morning was unforgettable. From sunrise to the changing light and the many birds flying in, even red-crowned cranes came to feed. Next time, I hope to enjoy a full-course Kinki fish meal.
