I made a Reservation to coincide with a visit to Minamiza Theatre. With Chion-in Temple right in front, the location is incredible. It was my first time staying at this Accommodation, and I was delighted by the warm welcome from the moment they held my luggage before check-in. The Room was more than sufficient for a solo trip, and there was also a thoughtful selection of tea and sweets. From the panoramic bath in the morning, I could truly see the red torii gate of Heian Shrine, and breakfast featured delicious Kyoto-style dishes. At check-out, they even saw me off to the exit; feeling happy that I had stayed at such a wonderful Accommodation in Gion, I then headed to Ginkaku-ji Temple. Thank you for your hospitality.

Guesthouse. I stayed for 3 nights for the first time, and it was very comfortable. I even became friends with the regular guests. The next day, four of us went snorkeling early in the morning at Aragusuku Beach, creating a very fun memory. There is a hammock on the rooftop where you can relax. It would be even more enjoyable if the weather is nice. The kitchen is equipped with pots, plates, chopsticks, seasonings, and a refrigerator, so cooking is possible. Everyone either cooks and eats together or goes out to eat; until 11 PM is a time for socializing. I was traveling alone but quickly made friends with everyone there. When I visit Miyako Island again, I will definitely stay at this guesthouse! Looking forward to visiting again!

We stayed as a family of four during the Obon holidays. The Accommodation was very clean and beautiful. The Onsen and the meals were both excellent. We were also able to buy Shizuoka oden that you recommended on our way home, and it was very delicious! It was a warm, comfortable Accommodation. We would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. Thank you very much.

Stayed one night during Golden Week. Much better than the major Hotel we stayed at the previous day. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The Onsen seemed medicinal. There is a designated smoking area on the premises, available 24 hours a day. Dog crates are available for loan, and pet amenities are well provided.

For the price, having access to the kitchen was very convenient. The Room was also spotless and nicely decorated, so I could relax and enjoy my stay. I also enjoyed talking with the owner. Thank you very much.

In the dining room, jazz plays in the background, and the stylish handmade tables immediately catch your eye. The delicious dishes made with local ingredients are served at a great pace. The rice is locally grown Fukkurinko. Carefully cooked with attention to details such as soaking time and when to lift it from the water, it is glossy, sweet, and irresistibly tasty. With an Onsen and wonderful food, this Accommodation warmed both body and soul.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The hospitality and meals were excellent, and it was very comfortable; I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

The original Onsen temperature was a bit high, so adjusting it each time was slightly inconvenient, but having both indoor and outdoor baths at this price is amazing. Truly luxurious! I also appreciated the massage chair. I had requested amenities and towels in advance, and they prepared plenty for me, including body lotion, which was very helpful.

While breathing in the fresh air of Asuka, I truly enjoyed the attentive hospitality that was present without being intrusive. Dinner at Da terra was also a wonderful meal that delighted both body and mind. There was nothing to complain about, but if I had to mention something, it would be breakfast. I’m not sure instant noodles are the best choice. Also, the one-size-fits-all sleepwear was a bit small... Just minor details.

Ever since I discovered Shukabura on an accommodation booking site a few years ago, I had been dreaming of staying here someday. The owner couple are friendly and down-to-earth. With just the right sense of distance, they respected my privacy while offering thoughtful care that anticipated every need. Not only the beautiful hill scenery, but also their warmth is a major reason this place makes you want to “come back home” again. Every piece of villa decor was so lovely I wanted to photograph it, and finding the charming little items placed throughout felt like a treasure hunt. The compact interior had everything I needed, and as someone whose hair tends to explode in the morning, I was genuinely impressed that there were even two types of hair irons provided. The cosmetics and bath/hair care amenities also smelled wonderful—I ended up lingering in the bath longer than planned. The local ingredients prepared for breakfast were all surprisingly delicious, especially the vegetables. I couldn’t stop tasting them just to check doneness—and even bought extra vegetables at a local farmers’ market. As someone who enjoys cooking (not necessarily claiming I’m good at it), I loved making my own meals while admiring the stunning view from the living room, making time spent in the Room truly special. This trip was a solo journey for self-care made possible by warm support from those around me. During my stay there were many rainy or cloudy days and strong winds, so it might not be considered “good weather” in general. Even so, there were sights I could only experience because of these conditions: a rainbow after the rain; layered clouds drifting by; a sky changing moment by moment; wheat rippling in the wind; and white buckwheat flowers swaying gently. This stay reminded me once again that Biei’s charm isn’t limited to sunny days. This was my seventh visit to Biei. The colors of the hills, shades of the sky, shapes of clouds, and growing trees all look different each time—no matter how many times I come back over time, there is always something new that moves me. Next time, I’d love to visit Biei in midwinter—still unknown to me—and watch snowy scenery from Shukabura. Thank you very much for such a truly fulfilling stay for both body and mind.

The atmosphere was wonderful, the surroundings were quiet, and everything was impeccably clean, so we were able to relax and unwind. Ikuman’s pairing dinner was great, but the breakfast was outstanding. The flavor and portion size were just right—it’s the kind of breakfast I’d love to eat every day. As for the Facility, I would have liked a shoehorn. Also, my husband bumped his head a few times, so it may be challenging for taller guests or those with limited mobility (there are many stairs). Personally, it’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. We bought some sake and beer as souvenirs from nearby shops. We really appreciated that they were open from the morning.

When visiting Hida Takayama, be sure to stay at Sumiya Hagakure! Enjoy a relaxing and private time with our whole-house rental. The old streets of Takayama are within walking distance, making the location perfect. The breakfast rice balls were also delicious. This is an accommodation you'll definitely want to revisit!

We visited for a New Year's trip with our beloved dog. This cozy accommodation, renovated from a traditional Japanese house, allowed us to relax and unwind. Our dog seemed very happy running freely in the garden and being pampered by the kind staff. We would love to visit again during the warmer season.

It was another comfortable stay. We apologize for the trouble caused by my friend’s forgotten item, and we truly appreciate your kind and attentive support. The breakfast we were looking forward to was exactly as expected—both the fresh juice and the rice were delicious. We enjoyed a hearty meal with an extra serving of rice before heading out sightseeing. We also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, as well as the lounge in the evening and the coffee service in the morning. In Kyoto we end up walking a lot, so it was wonderful to relax in the spacious bathtub to ease our tiredness, then unwind and chat in the lounge. This is a Hotel in Gion with great access for getting around on foot. We will visit again.

We stayed with our 4-year-old. With a loft and a terrace, our child was delighted, saying, “What a lovely house!” The place was well prepared for the cold, with plenty of flowers and soft indirect lighting. The bathroom and changing area were spacious and easy to use. It would have been perfect if it had an Onsen, but the water was pleasantly soft. We also appreciated the juice and snacks as a parting gift. We’d love to stay again!

I tend to check the exterior on Google Maps in advance. This time as well, I looked it up beforehand and thought it seemed like an older Hotel, but since it was this price with an Onsen, I decided to stay—and it pleasantly surprised me. The room was very spacious and extremely clean, and the bed and pillows were soft; I slept wonderfully. The only downside was that—though I’m not sure if it was just that day—the Wi‑Fi didn’t connect at all. The Onsen has a great view, but I did notice the shower water pressure was weak and the bath depth was a bit shallow. Still, I’m grateful there’s a large public bath, so it was totally acceptable.

My siblings live in different prefectures, so we used this place as an opportunity for the whole family to get together. There were 12 of us—my sister’s family with two dogs, my brother’s family with children, my spouse and I, my parents, and my grandmother—so we booked two buildings. There was a large long table, and extra chairs were kept in the bedroom, so everyone could sit together in one building and enjoy meals as a group. (There was also a chair for small children.) The space is very spacious, so even when we all gathered it never felt cramped. There’s also a sofa area where everyone could relax however they liked. The warmth of the wood made it feel truly wonderful. We were also very grateful that we could message to arrange check-in this time. It was convenient to pay the Accommodation Tax and pet fee via PayPay using the provided QR code. Even though the kids got very excited and had lots of fun, it’s a private space so we felt comfortable staying there without worry. For bathing, we used the Onsen at a nearby Ryokan within walking distance. The Onsen lovers in our family even went again in the morning. If you bring your own ingredients, everything else is provided—tableware and appliances—so it was incredibly helpful. There was also a rice cooker so we could cook rice easily, which we really appreciated. Inside the Room there was also an iron plate and grill net for yakiniku-style BBQ, which made the meat taste even better. There is also a locked dog run on site, which is great for guests with pets. The price was very reasonable—thank you so much for letting us stay in such a wonderful place. We would love to stay again.

The detached Japanese-Western style room was wonderful in terms of its Facility, amenities, and atmosphere! Since it has no stairs like a cottage, it was easy to come and go even with heavy luggage.

Thanks to the friendly cats and warm-hearted owner, I felt deeply comforted. Highly recommended for cat lovers. I hope this hidden accommodation remains a place visited only by kind-hearted people. I will visit again during my next trip to Aomori.
