We stayed as a couple. The open-air bath was outstanding—easily the best among all the Onsen Accommodations we’ve stayed at. The water quality was excellent, and we were able to fully enjoy Manza Onsen’s signature milky, cloudy waters to our heart’s content. It was our first time trying a mixed-gender open-air bath, but we decided to go in together “since we were here and wanted to make a memory.” We were a little nervous at first, but it turned into a truly fun experience and an unforgettable memory for us as a couple. When I asked a staff member who was cleaning the washing area by the open-air bath, they responded very politely, and I really appreciated the kind service. The meals were more than satisfying, and the Room was spacious and comfortable—there wasn’t anything to complain about. Before staying, I thought, “At this price point, it’ll probably be about what you’d expect,” but after actually staying here, it far exceeded our expectations. It honestly felt like twice the value for money—we’re extremely satisfied. Next time, we’d love to visit in another season and enjoy these wonderful hot springs again.

Although it was during the summer vacation season, it wasn’t overly crowded, and we fully enjoyed the delicious meals and the Onsen. I quickly finished breakfast and went to work, and since I returned in the evening, I only had breakfast and dinner, but they also had Häagen-Dazs ice cream, so I was very satisfied with what was offered. If I come back to this area again, I would like to stay here again.

I stayed for two nights. You served meals that were different from what I expected, and they were very delicious. The tatami in the Room was also new and comfortable, so I had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed here during Golden Week. First, we checked in at the front desk, and the male staff member’s guidance was very unhurried, polite, and easy to understand. His kind smile also left a great impression. Right after check-in, what caught our eye was a mountain of sweets, ice cream, and even an automatic pancake maker. My spouse and I both love alcohol, so we headed straight for the drinks corner without even looking at the snacks! They had a full selection including beer, champagne, wine, and shochu, and we enjoyed them along with homemade cream cheese. Dinner also included shabu-shabu and crab. The crab was small but sweet, and the shabu-shabu came with both beef and pork—both were delicious. The ponzu sauce was especially tasty (is it homemade?). We were told we could bring drinks back to our Room after dinner as well, so after bathing we brought some along and enjoyed them. They also lend out games, so we borrowed a nostalgic Famicom and had a lot of fun in our Room. This Accommodation was perfect for us as a couple—we truly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely like to visit again.

This was my second stay. Last time I traveled solo and used a twin room as single occupancy, but this time I stayed with my partner (my wife) for 3 nights and 4 days. I booked a twin Western-style room for the first two nights, and a Japanese-Western style room for the third night because the twin was unavailable. However, thanks to the Hotel’s kindness, we were upgraded to a very spacious Japanese-Western style room for all three nights. Thank you very much. The main purpose of this trip was the Sapporo Snow Festival for the first time in six years. With hotel prices in central Sapporo rising sharply recently, we chose this Hotel again because we had a great experience before. When comparing rates, this Hotel with breakfast and dinner can sometimes be cheaper than central-area hotels with breakfast only (depending on when you make your Reservation). This time we rented a car from the airport, but if you are not used to driving on snowy roads, taking the bus is honestly recommended. Also, at this Hotel, if the schedule works out, using the free Shuttle Service bus is an excellent value. We used the Shuttle Service one-way from the Hotel to Sapporo Station on our second day (they were running five large buses). After enjoying the Snow Festival, we returned to the Hotel by taking Jotetsu Bus “Kappa Liner,” using its last service (departing 17:00 from in front of the station). On day three, we relaxed by visiting nearby Hoheikyo Onsen for a day trip bath and their famous curry, and took an easy stroll around town in the snowy hot-spring area. As for the Hotel itself, you can enjoy various baths at both an underground Onsen area and an observation bath & open-air bath on the top floor. That said—perhaps because there isn’t enough source water volume for baths of that size—the “Onsen feel” is slightly mild. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner. Given that it was peak season at such a huge Resort Hotel, it gets extremely crowded in a massive dining venue, so it’s better to avoid peak times. The buffet selection may not match top-tier luxury resort standards, but it was satisfying—for example, breakfast included seafood bowls where you can add as much salmon roe as you like. If you’re visiting Sapporo for sightseeing, staying in central Sapporo is convenient; however, this Hotel offers great value with breakfast and dinner included plus Onsen access—and even free Shuttle Service buses from near Sapporo Station—so I may well return for a third stay. One extra note: the new wing has three glass elevators, and two regular elevators on the inner side of the building opposite them. The glass elevators have great views, but in midwinter (around -10°C), they are very cold inside, so we ended up using the inner ones most of the time.

This was our first time staying here. We made a Reservation with a very good-value Plan, but one person suddenly couldn’t make it. When we informed the staff, they handled it very flexibly, which truly helped us. It was our daughter’s birthday, and they also arranged a birthday cake separately. The staff and other guests offered congratulatory words as well, and our daughter was delighted. The meals included some items prepared in advance, but the Joshu beef sukiyaki and fresh sashimi were especially delicious. Rice, miso soup, dessert, and drinks were served buffet-style, so we could enjoy seconds without hesitation—this was excellent. The Room was very spacious; the tatami mats looked newly replaced, there were no areas that concerned us in terms of cleanliness, and we stayed comfortable throughout. Needless to say, the large public bath had wonderful water quality. There was also a cooler “refreshing bath” available only in summer at a lower temperature, which made it comfortable for the children too. All employees were kind and helpful. Above all, it left an impression to see energetic senior staff cheerfully greeting guests while pushing large carts. Everyone worked so efficiently that it gave us energy as well. I’m sure there are various Reviews out there, but for our family this has definitely become a place of wonderful memories—thank you very much! Also, the flowers were properly arranged with fresh blooms; I admired how well they are maintained despite how much work that must be. Next time we’d love to return with the person who couldn’t come this time as well.

What I liked 1. The complimentary drinks on arrival—draft beer was excellent. The oden was also great. You don’t find this at other places. 2. The shampoo bar in the Onsen area—this was a favorite and not something other places offer. 3. It was great that the games were free of charge. 4. We enjoyed table tennis, and we really appreciated that it was free of charge. Request for improvement Since we stayed in Aoi-kan, I understand that the building is older, but I did notice an odor in the corridors and in our Room. My daughter also said the corridor smell made it feel a bit spooky, which was disappointing. These days, scent is important—for example, Lexus dealerships have a very pleasant fragrance inside—so I would appreciate it if you could install a fragrance diffuser or similar device in the corridors. That said, thank you very much for a satisfying stay.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Overall, we were very satisfied! However, we really couldn’t tolerate the smell in the elevator, so we mostly used the stairs. It was a bit disappointing that the meals were almost the same on both days. But everything tasted really delicious! On the first night, the staff member in charge of our meal seemed a bit bothered and spoke rather casually, which concerned us. On the second night, however, the staff member was very polite and made us feel comfortable. The view from our Room was amazing, and when we returned from going out, we were able to relax and unwind.

The property uses smart check-in and mobile ordering throughout. Staff are of course available, so if you’re unsure about anything, they will assist you and there’s no problem. It felt like unnecessary extras have been eliminated to enhance the quality of meals and other services. The Room with a semi-open-air bath was more than spacious enough. The interior seems to have been renovated, so it didn’t feel particularly old, but the Room is not barrier-free and there were quite a few steps/level changes. The staff were friendly, and overall it was a very satisfying Accommodation. One thing: free coffee was provided in the lobby, but unfortunately it wasn’t drinkable. I used it while waiting to check in, and since that’s an important moment that shapes first impressions of an Accommodation, I wanted to mention it.

The Onsen water quality was excellent in both the large public bath and the private reservable bath. I wished the bathing hours were extended until around 2:00 a.m., as I would have loved to soak one more time. The complimentary fondant chocolate and cold tea in the post-bath lounge were delicious. The brunch curry topped with roast beef was luxurious, beautifully presented, and very tasty. Being able to enjoy the perfect combination of Ureshino Onsen and Ureshino tea truly helped me recharge with nature’s energy. Thank you very much—I would love to stay again.

Lately, even when traveling as a couple, we often prioritized sightseeing, so this time we made a Reservation to enjoy spending time at the Accommodation. After entering our Room, we didn’t go out at all, and it was relaxing to spend the day however we liked—having tea and soaking in the Onsen.

Absolutely amazing. In addition to dinner and breakfast, you can also enjoy alcohol (beer and more) as well as steamed meat buns and traditional sweets at check-in and during late-night snacks. Dinner features grilled eel, sushi, crab, shabu-shabu, and more, and breakfast also offers a wide variety—everything was extremely satisfying. The Hotel has karaoke, table tennis, darts, foosball-style soccer games, and more, so we had a great time. The only minor issue was that the Room air conditioning felt a bit outdated; otherwise the value is almost too good to share. We were very satisfied overall, including the Onsen.

Thank you for accommodating my food allergies—it was a great help. All the staff were always smiling and kind; thank you for your wonderful hospitality. The lukewarm Onsen was so relaxing, and I could soak for a long time. There are other Ryokan with cats, but the exceptional comfort here—so soothing it made me lose track of time—was truly special. For future guests: you may find a cat relaxing in the garden. Please drive in slowly when entering by car (ΦωΦ)

As I was pregnant, we stayed here for what would be our last trip as a family of three. The staff were very polite and provided attentive service. They also explained the Room thoroughly, and since it came with an open-air bath, we were able to relax and enjoy bathing privately as a family. The meals were delicious, and at check-out they took a photo of us at the entrance, leaving us with wonderful memories.

Aside from the slightly spongy floor in the washroom, this Accommodation was very clean, meticulously maintained throughout, and truly comfortable. We were able to relax as if we were back at our parents’ home. The baths were also wonderful, and we enjoyed both the large public bath and all three private baths. The former air-raid shelter passage leading to the Goemon bath was a little scary, but it also felt like a valuable geo-heritage site. Breakfast is mainly Western-style, and the variety, quality, and portion size all felt just right. (Couple in our 50s) Perhaps because it is Western-style, we would be happy if tea were available after the meal. The staff’s attentiveness and sense of distance were just right, making this an Accommodation we definitely want to return to. We would also recommend it to family and friends.

To sum it up: absolutely worth the trip, even if it’s far! I was truly satisfied for the first time in a while!! From the initial phone call, the staff were kind and courteous. Even just looking at the photos of members of the Imperial Family, I could enjoy an atmosphere that reflects many years of history. Only the restrooms have been updated to a clean, modern style, which made me feel how much care and effort has gone into maintaining this place. The Room reminded me of my grandmother’s home in the early Showa era—so nostalgic. It’s perfect for simply relaxing and unwinding. The Onsen is a hot, free-flowing natural spring! The volume of water is incredible, and after soaking slowly, my body stayed warm for ages—spa therapy complete. I regretted not staying at least two nights to visit all the nearby public baths. I really hope you will aim to become an Accommodation where small dogs are welcome. Thank you very much. I’ll be back when I want to relax again.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. During the dinner buffet, they served a fruit plate and more, which made us very happy!! The hospitality and service deserve more than five stars. This is the first time I’ve truly wanted to stay again.

Since it had been rebranded and was offered at a campaign rate, we stayed in the Premium Suite. As expected, the Room was tastefully put together, and it truly felt like they had moved away from the image of an old-fashioned Onsen Ryokan. The private bath, which is usually available for a fee, was also provided free of charge. You make a Reservation through the Accommodation’s dedicated app, then pick up the key at the front desk when it’s time. We ended up departing early in the morning on short notice, but we’d like to stay here again when we visit Minami-Izu.

This is our annual summer family trip with three generations. We book two Rooms, and we truly appreciate that you arrange them next to each other. The baths are amazing—wonderful Onsen! The food is delicious with a wide variety of options, and all the staff are so kind and helpful. It’s an outstanding Hotel. My mother was left partially paralyzed after a cerebral hemorrhage and has limited mobility, so we wondered if this might be our last trip together—but this year again, our whole family was able to come. We hope my mother and father stay healthy so we can all return next year as well. This is the best Hotel for creating wonderful memories on our yearly family trips. Please take care of yourselves, and keep up the great work. I’ll be visiting with friends in October too, and I’m looking forward to coming back again. This was my first time staying here. It felt like a traditional Onsen Accommodation, and I had a very comfortable stay. I was able to relax in the Onsen, and I also really enjoyed the dinosaur-themed bath. The amenities were well stocked, and although I checked in late, I appreciated that the futon had already been laid out for me. Just one thing… when I tried to put something in the refrigerator—“!!”. Maybe it was left by a previous guest? There was ice cream inside, and it surprised me. Since it was tucked away in the back, it probably went unnoticed. It became a funny travel story for me, but I worried that others might not feel the same. Overall, though, I’m very satisfied. I’d love to stay again if I have the chance.
