The Tajima beef sukiyaki and breakfast were both quite delicious. The room and bath were clean, and I think it would be difficult to find anything unpleasant. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the dining room door was a bit hard to close... It's a wonderful property, so I would love to visit many times. Thank you very much.

I stayed here after my visit to Akakura Kanko Hotel. The Onsen was wonderful. The meals were also very delicious. Thank you very much.

We stayed with our 1 year and 10-month-old child. We chose this accommodation because it is a "Welcome Baby" certified accommodation, and it truly lived up to its name! The kids' room was filled with various toys, which made our child very happy. Diapers and wipes were also provided, so we could travel light. The meals were absolutely delicious, and we were very satisfied! The breakfast for children was also luxurious and wonderful. Additionally, the all-inclusive service allowed us to enjoy drinks, alcohol, and snacks at any time we liked, which was a great perk. Our child kept asking for refills of Calpis (laughs). As for the Onsen, the private Onsen was available 24 hours a day. We could check availability on our smartphone and use it whenever we wanted! It was great to have relaxing bath time as a family. Since we stayed on a weekday, there weren’t many people around, so we could relax without worrying even with a small child in tow. The staff members were very kind as well—it turned out to be such a wonderful family trip! Thank you so much!

The last time I visited Matsurube was right after the 2008 Iwate–Miyagi Nairiku Earthquake, which triggered a massive landslide and caused the collapse of the Matsurube Ohashi Bridge. This time, it was my first return in 20 years. While traces of the past remain, it has been reborn as a small yet elegant Accommodation. It takes only about 10–20 seconds on foot from the Room to the large public bath. With just seven guest rooms in total, once day-use bathers leave in the evening, the large public bath feels almost like a private bath reserved just for you—an incredibly luxurious setup. Passing through a lovely drink bar, we head to the restaurant. It is described as “French cuisine,” but even after looking over the menu, I couldn’t quite imagine what each dish would be like. When I think of French food, classics such as foie gras, truffles, and rich butter sauces come to mind—delicious, but sometimes heavy. So what kind of French cuisine would this be? I had high expectations. But what was served far exceeded them. Each plate features two or more main ingredients—and both are ingredients that evoke a sense of place, with different flavor profiles and textures. The moment they overlap on your palate, an exquisite marriage is born. Even more interesting is that one of those two leading ingredients is always a vegetable. Vegetables are not mere supporting players here; they stand proudly as true protagonists, creating an impression reminiscent of kaiseki cuisine as well. I found myself thinking: “Japanese-French” is indeed a perfect name for it. For wine, I chose a Côtes du Rhône white made with Grenache Blanc; its dry richness and fruitiness paired beautifully with the food. I’ve had my share of French cuisine both in Japan and abroad, but I may never have been moved quite like this before. It never felt heavy; instead, subtle hidden accents throughout created deep lingering finishes. It was truly outstanding. I’m told that when the seasons change, the menu will be completely renewed as well. That means I’ll have to come back again—one more thing to look forward to. One final request: As people who want to start with “a beer for now” as soon as we arrive at an Accommodation, we’d be even happier if getting access to beer were just a little easier. Please consider it.

The scenery was especially beautiful, and we were very satisfied to be able to watch the sunrise rising from the horizon.

We stayed here for our first trip with our beloved dog. The spacious and clean area we saw as soon as we opened the entrance door was amazing, and it instantly lifted our spirits. The Room was clean, well-equipped with cooking utensils, and very comfortable. The manager was very kind and helpful when I called a few times due to my lack of preparation, which I greatly appreciated. The season was perfect, and our dog seemed to enjoy running around the garden or taking walks on the sandy beach in front of the property. We had a truly wonderful time here!

I would definitely like to use it again.

Although the Accommodation is run by a small team, thank you for providing more than adequate hospitality. I was surprised to see a Nepalese staff member offering heartfelt, Japanese-style service. I’m not sure whether it comes down to personal skill or thorough training, but seeing how they supported the other international staff made me feel their ability is exceptional. The service side is already very strong, so if you continue making consistent investments in your Facility, I believe you will also help boost the overall appeal of Amagase Onsen. If I have another opportunity, I would be happy to stay in Ukiha again.

The slopes are right in front, and rentals can be arranged at the Hotel, which was very convenient. The meals were luxurious, and we also received souvenirs.

No Meals Included. I found this place based on the number of guests, an in-room bath, and its fairly convenient proximity to the station, and it worked well for my stay.

We stayed for one night and two days with dinner and breakfast included for four people. The traditional house, delicious meals, and the warm hospitality of the proprietress were very soothing. The building is a bit old, but it made us feel like we were visiting a relative’s home. However, perhaps because some walls are thin, noise from upstairs and downstairs carries through, so it may bother some guests.

I stayed here to attend a live concert at Kyocera Dome, and it was personally a great experience. The Room was spacious enough and very comfortable. The welcome drinks were free refills, and alcohol was 300 yen. I had sparkling wine, coffee, and orange juice—they were delicious. It seems the men’s large public bath had a sauna, and my son who stayed with me was happy about it. The staff were kind and left a great impression. I’d like to stay again.

It was truly a wonderful accommodation. The room was filled with a nostalgic atmosphere, providing a sense of relaxation. While the facility does show some age, it is very well-maintained and allowed for a comfortable stay. The young hostess provided exceptionally kind and attentive service, making the entire experience delightful. The meals were exquisite tofu kaiseki dishes, with each dish being meticulously prepared and absolutely delicious. I would love to stay here again in the future.

The meals are always delicious and home-style. Since I’m not good at exercise, I joined the after-dinner walk for the first time on this trip. It was a shame we couldn’t see fireflies because the typhoon brought strong winds, but I was surprised to hear there are fireflies right near the Accommodation. Apparently there are chances to see them until November, so I’d like to stay again.

I stayed in the top-floor dormitory. The Room with the beds is spacious. There is a shared space in the basement. You can walk here from Oishi Station.

I stayed here to see the sagaribana just before the typhoon. This was my second visit. The hosts’ warm, unpretentious hospitality is wonderful—it really makes you feel like you’ve come to the island. The stars in the night sky were beautiful, almost unbelievable with a typhoon approaching. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We took a ferry with our rental car to Mukaishima. While the uphill approach was a bit challenging as expected, the view of Onomichi Channel and the town's nightscape from the Room and bath exceeded all expectations! The staff were friendly, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful and pleasant evening.

Dinner was like a seafood feast—sea urchin, octopus rice, simmered dishes, and sashimi. I couldn’t see the starry sky I was looking forward to, but I’d love to come back and try again. Thank you very much.

I really appreciated that the Shuttle Service was available even for a solo guest. The Onsen quality is outstanding—I used it three times during my stay. For this price, the two meals included were both delicious and very filling. I recommend ordering an extra portion of horse sashimi at dinner. Since I used the Shuttle Service, I assume they knew I would be the last guest arriving that day, but it was disappointing that amenities were already out of stock at check-in and weren’t replenished until the next morning.
