Diamond Setouchi Marine Hotel

We stayed here to visit Toy Kingdom. We chose this Hotel because it was close—about a 6-minute drive from Toy Kingdom. The exterior looks a bit aged, but the inside was well cleaned and comfortable.We stayed in a Japanese-style Room on the ocean side. However, since it was on the second floor, trees blocked the view and we couldn’t really enjoy the scenery. The amenities were fine overall, but it was disappointing that there were no skincare items like lotion provided in the Room. Also, perhaps because it was summer, the bath water temperature was extremely hot. Our 7-year-old daughter kept going back and forth between the cold bath and the hot bath (lol), and our 5-year-old son didn’t seem able to get in.At the buffet, they grilled meat at a live kitchen station, and it was tender and very delicious. There was also a great variety of ice cream.It felt like most guests were families, so we thought this Hotel would be very comfortable for those traveling with children.

When I stayed here once three years ago, I didn’t have very good memories, but this time it became a wonderful experience.First, there is an uphill slope to the entrance, and since I had heavy luggage, a staff member ran over to me and carried my bags to the front desk. Thank you so much!For dinner this time we chose the family buffet. As others have mentioned, the smoke from the sirloin steak was noticeable, but the buffet venue was larger than the one on the first floor, and I think it’s easier for families with children to eat there. The live piano performance also included children’s songs, and it was heartwarming to see kids from different families singing along. We also appreciated that the kids’ menu items were placed where children could reach them—my 6-year-old daughter was happy she could pick her own food. The live demonstration of salt-baked beef tongue was also fun; they even added music and really put effort into making it entertaining.The kids’ festival games were fun, but isn’t “60 shots” for basketball impossible within that time? My daughter made 30 but only received a participation prize and felt disappointed. It might be better to set a lower target or adjust it by age—like the ring toss next door. The maze on the first floor was great! Even my 2-year-old enjoyed it and was delighted to receive a sticker.The guest room felt cold because the air conditioning is centrally controlled.That was a bit of a drawback.We were able to enjoy the bath at a quiet time and relax. I went in again early in the morning, but it was more crowded then!Breakfast buffet was on the first floor.It felt smaller than the family buffet venue, which was slightly disappointing. We went at 7:00 and got in smoothly, but people who went at 8:00 had quite a long wait. I recommend going early.It’s close to Toy Kingdom (Omocha Okoku), so I recommend it for families with children. We plan to stay again during pool season.
