    I will not repeat.

    Despite completing the Reservation and payment in advance, there was a mistake in registering the name, making check-in difficult. The Room's air conditioning was poor and it was cold. Not worth the price. Will not repeat.

    I understand it was my fault, but the Hotel's response was disappointing.

    Due to a last-minute decision to stay, I accidentally reserved a smoking room in a rush. While I understand it was my mistake, I asked the front desk around 8 PM during check-in if they could somehow change it to a non-smoking room, even if it meant paying extra. However, they refused, insisting the hotel was fully booked. Reluctantly, I went to the room but started coughing as if having an allergic reaction and ended up leaving the Hotel within 30 minutes without staying (Check-out? Cancellation?). When checking IKYU.com from the room, I noticed there was still one non-smoking Room available for booking. I felt distrustful since they had insisted there were no non-smoking rooms available due to being fully booked—especially at 8 PM on that day! When I returned to the front desk and mentioned that there seemed to be a non-smoking Room still available online, their response was that "the reservation site operates separately." Is that really how it works? Even if reservations through external sites are handled differently from direct bookings at the Hotel itself, shouldn't this information be properly managed or communicated? While I'm not familiar with how Hotels coordinate with reservation platforms like IKYU.com, better communication should have been possible earlier on. Although it's "The New Otani," which carries prestige in name alone—the Hotel's handling of this situation left me disappointed. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll stay here again. In the end, I found another nearby Hotel for one night instead.

    The dinner we had been looking forward to

    This time, I ordered Japanese cuisine, but the flavors, from sashimi soy sauce to chicken and miso soup, were too strong for elderly guests, which was disappointing. When making the reservation, I requested an extra chair in the room, but it was not provided. However, despite chatting late into the night without any complaints, the stay was very comfortable. I look forward to staying again in the future.

    A charmingly retro yet excellent Hotel.

    The wallpaper, rugs, and bathroom facilities have been renovated and are clean. The TV stand and desk have a slightly retro feel, with some wear and tear, including an FM radio knob that adds a nostalgic touch. The bed was on the softer side. As expected from a renowned Hotel chain, the service was excellent, making for a pleasant stay. The food was also delicious. Being close to the station is very convenient, and I would love to stay here again.

    Very good

    Clean and quiet Hotel with no external noise. If I had to mention something, the silence made the refrigerator noise noticeable. It might be better to keep it turned off when not in use.

    It was convenient.

    The direct connection to the station was incredibly convenient. I used to stay at hotels near Shinagawa Station, but since this Hotel is directly connected just one stop away from Shinagawa, I plan to use this Hotel from now on. The Room was upgraded to a higher grade, and I had a very comfortable stay.

    Chinese guests were noisy.

    Around 11 PM to midnight, other guests on the same floor, presumably Chinese tourists, were being loud in the hallway, slamming doors, touching my door while I was inside, and banging on walls, making it impossible to relax. This was my second stay here, but I found the air conditioning controls confusing this time. They didn’t work well in the end, leaving me feeling both hot and disturbed. Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I will reconsider staying here again and would prefer not to be placed on the same floor as large tourist groups in the future.

    The remote work room was very user-friendly.

    I booked this remote room to attend a 3-day online training from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM (with irregular breaks). Positive Points - Equipped with a spacious desk and work chair, making it ideal for remote work, even for long hours - The room was very clean - The bed was comfortable to sleep on - Despite being a business hotel, there were bathrobes and nightwear (a long top) provided - A humidifier and air purifier were available in the room - A supermarket "Life" was conveniently located next to the hotel, allowing me to stock up on food in the empty fridge - The bathroom was clean and new, perfect for relaxing baths at the end of the day - Breakfast offered excellent value for its price Negative Points - Air conditioning is centralized, and windows cannot be opened; it felt hot when cooling wasn’t effective - No power outlets near the bedside - Although described as having tea and coffee in the room, they were powdered. Powdered green tea felt questionable. - During check-in with staff, no special instructions were given. I struggled with setting up Wi-Fi using general information left in the room until I contacted reception. Only then did I learn that Wi-Fi for remote rooms is entirely different. If my room number indicates it's a "remote room," an explanation about Wi-Fi should have been provided during check-in. - The breakfast restaurant seemed too small compared to the number of rooms; if you don’t go between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, you might not even get a seat - For dinner, I had tempura set meal which included okra that was so tough it couldn’t be chewed through. It made me question whether ingredients are checked by chefs before serving

    Unfortunately,

    No matter how many times I stay, the front desk service is below that of a Business Hotel. It feels like a completely different Hotel compared to other New Otani Hotels or the one in Kioicho. The only value is its proximity to the station.

    Comparable to a standard Business Hotel.

    I booked it thinking it was a city hotel like other New Otani hotels, but the facility, service, and food were all on par with a business hotel! Considering the high price, it felt like a waste...

    Mold in the humidifying air purifier

    When attempting to use the air purifier in the room, I found that there was no water in the humidifying tank. Upon removing the water tank, I noticed mold and dirt inside. Although I managed to clean it and refill it with water, the refill indicator light remained on, suggesting a clogged pipe. After contacting the front desk for a replacement, they brought another machine which also did not work properly. The third machine provided was functional but had a visibly dirty water tank, leaving me very disappointed. Additionally, there was noticeable dust around wiring behind the bed and sofa, indicating that thorough cleaning is not regularly performed. When I reported these issues to the front desk the next day, their response seemed indifferent, leaving me with little hope for improved service in the future.

    Is the room not cleaned?

    Slippers seemingly used by the previous guest were left in the room. Additionally, there was hair on the bathroom handrail. This was the most unhygienic accommodation I have ever experienced. I expected a casual (business) version of the New Otani series, so this situation was shocking. If possible, I would like to avoid staying here in the future.

    Used for day use.

    Good Points: ① Late check-out time at 11 PM is very convenient. ② Rooms are spacious, unlike other business hotels. ③ Free Wi-Fi is available. ④ Close to the station. ⑤ Lawson convenience store is right outside the Hotel, very handy. Points for Improvement: ① Better soundproofing would be appreciated. Outside noise can be noticeable at night while sleeping.

    Directly connected to the station, affordable prices, nutritious and delicious breakfast with a wide variety of dishes, friendly staff—this was a Hotel I would definitely like to use again.

    Next time too.

    I stayed for two nights this time after a while. Despite being affordable, the Room was comfortable, the breakfast was satisfying, and I loved the direct connection to the station. I've decided to stay here again next time!

    Sound resonates.

    The hotel had many international guests. The noise from the room above was unbelievable, something I’ve never experienced in a Hotel before. It made me question what could cause such loud sounds and whether the Facility's soundproofing is inadequate. Although the staff addressed it once, it didn’t help. The noise continued early in the morning from around 6:00 AM to just before 7:30 AM, leaving me sleep-deprived. There’s no point staying at a Hotel where you can’t relax. While the location is good, I don’t think I’ll stay here again.

    Conveniently located near the station

    Free Room upgrade, conveniently connected directly to the station. The Room was clean. It would have been nice to have coffee among the beverages in the Room (instant coffee is fine).

    Stayed on Saturday. Good access, and although the building is old, it has been renovated and is clean. The staff's service was excellent! There was a line for check-in, possibly due to the time of day. Breakfast had a slightly limited selection and was crowded. Overall, it gives the impression of being a hotel mainly for accommodation purposes.

    The room was on the station side with a great view.

    The breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing as a male staff member at the entrance was unwelcoming and did not allow us to choose our preferred seats. However, the female staff provided excellent and attentive service, which was a relief. The food itself was delicious. Overall, I wouldn't highly recommend the morning buffet. On the other hand, the front desk female staff were very pleasant, and the Room was clean and comfortable. Please note that only one toothbrush is provided in the Room, so bringing your own is recommended for both morning and evening use.

    Convenient and comfortable near the station.

    I stayed here during my business trip to Shibuya, Tokyo. This was my second stay. This time, I was upgraded from a single to a twin room. Although the building itself is old and the air conditioning cannot be temperature-adjusted, the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location is convenient as it is directly connected to Osaki Station and close to Shinagawa Station for the Shinkansen. Considering how comfortable it is and that it's more affordable than business hotel chains, this Hotel offers excellent value for money in the Tokyo area.

    The upgraded room was spacious and luxurious, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I was shocked to find a single slipper, seemingly left by a previous guest, peeking out from under the bed. While the rest of the room was clean and well-prepared, this oversight was disappointing. Breakfast was another issue as I encountered a large group of students, making it difficult to move around the venue comfortably. It would have been helpful if this had been mentioned at check-in. Long lines formed for each dish with no staff managing or directing guests to ease congestion. A little guidance to distribute crowds more evenly would have improved the experience significantly. Unfortunately, many dishes were cold and fewer in variety than expected. Given these issues, I felt it might have been better to dine elsewhere for breakfast. On a positive note, being seated by the window allowed me some quiet time as I dined alone; however, getting there amidst all the chaos made for an unnecessarily stressful morning—especially with my departure schedule in mind. Next time I stay here, I'll likely choose an accommodation plan without meals. The front desk service was excellent and contributed positively to my impression of this hotel’s atmosphere overall; thus I'm still considering staying again but will decide based on future circumstances. Amenities were well-stocked and much appreciated during my stay. I hope improvements can be made regarding cleaning standards and breakfast arrangements moving forward!

    The room I reserved ...

    The room I reserved was upgraded due to the original grade being fully booked, and it was an excellent room. Thank you very much. I appreciated having a ReFa hair dryer. I also enjoyed listening to music with Alexa. There was a capsule coffee machine, so I brought my own and had breakfast in the room. It was helpful to be able to rent a hair iron and charger.

    Directly connected to the station for your convenience.

    Stayed for one night on a business trip. The Room was upgraded, which was nice for a Business Hotel. However, the air conditioning could not be temperature-controlled and only allowed adjustment of airflow, making it inconvenient to regulate. Additionally, the WiFi signal was weak and frequently disconnected. Although the front desk provided a router upon request, the speed was still slow.

    Stroll Around the Gotenyama Area

    I take a walk every morning, and during my stay at New Otani Inn, I also enjoyed strolling around the Gotenyama area for about an hour. The pleasant atmosphere of the residential area in the morning was refreshing. I am already planning my next walking route and looking forward to my business trip to Tokyo next month. This hotel is conveniently connected directly to Osaki Station.

    Choose for cost performance and convenience

    As a business hotel by Otani, the service and breakfast are satisfying. However, the facility is old; while the plumbing is clean, the water pressure was weak, and the Wi-Fi inside the building was almost unusable. Still, it’s convenient as you can reach it from the station without getting wet in the rain, and it offers good value for money. I would like to stay here again.

    Living up to the name of New Otani...

    It had been a while since my last stay, but despite the crowd, the front desk service was efficient. The room, though somewhat dated, was clean, and the convenient access from the station once again highlighted its comfort. However, the lace curtain on the window was torn and needs immediate replacement. This could tarnish the reputation of Hotel New Otani.

    The shower may stop running midway...

    If the lever under the shower is not turned to the left, the shower will not work (resolved by my niece), so I could only wash my body. However, since I was a member of Hotel New Otani Club, I could use the lounge and was allowed to check out until 3:00 PM. What a wonderful accommodation! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. Thank you very much!
