    We were looking for ...

    We were looking for a dog-friendly private villa close to the ocean with great views, a heated pool, and a sauna—and this was the only place that met all our needs. We stayed for 2 nights over New Year’s with 8 adults and 2 dogs. The website and brochure are very informative, but before our visit we had a few questions. However, we received no response to our inquiry emails or LINE messages. After calling the toll-free number several times, we finally got through—only to be told rather bluntly, “Did you check the brochure? There’s nothing beyond what’s written there.” That made us quite worried about the management before arrival. Once we arrived, though, the location was truly outstanding: perched on a hill right in front of the sea with an amazing sense of privacy. The spacious living room and bedrooms have sweeping ocean views, and outside there is a heated pool, fire pit, and sauna. The toilets, bathroom(s), kitchen, and linens were all new and spotless—and the amenities were stylish as well. The heated pool was properly warmed and could be enjoyed anytime like an Onsen. The sauna is wood-fired so it only reaches about 40–50°C, but there is also a cold plunge bath and warm bath—perfect for relaxing while watching the sunset. A few requests: The refrigerator needs to be larger. With groceries for 8 people for two nights, there wasn’t enough space. Also, not having a dishwasher was tough. Some items we brought because they weren’t listed in the brochure—such as paper towels, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap—were actually provided. It said there would be 18 bottles of water provided; they turned out to be 350 ml bottles (so we were glad we bought extra). Also note that there are stairs from the gate to the entrance door, so carrying large luggage can be quite challenging. Although it says up to 18 guests can stay here, around 8 adults felt like a comfortable number. There are no supermarkets or convenience stores within walking distance—but we were able to order additional drinks via Uber from Lawson (a convenience store), which was reassuring. This was an exceptional private villa where you can truly enjoy resort vibes while staying in Japan. This kind of location is rare here—we’d love to return in warmer season.

    Highly satisfied

    The living room was spacious, there were plenty of bedrooms, and a large TV. We also enjoyed the pool, sauna, and BBQ—so we had a great time without having to travel abroad. It was disappointing that the kitchen knife wasn’t sharp enough to fillet fish. We would like to stay again.
