AZUMINO KOGEN RESORT

A large Hotel that appears as you steadily climb the mountain after passing through Azumino’s peaceful countryside. It was my first visit in several years, and it had been renovated—the lobby, front desk, and large public bath were all new and spotless.After the sauna, relaxing on the outdoor terrace surrounded by forest air was incredibly refreshing.Meals are served on a terrace overlooking the woods. In particular, in the morning I enjoyed coffee and pancakes while being soothed by birdsong and the scent of the trees. (I also had grilled rice balls and curry.)We stayed in a maisonette Room, which was spacious and perfect for a relaxing stay.I’m planning to return again in a different season.

This was our first stay here. I stayed with my parents in their 70s and my two daughters. It was about a 20-minute drive from the Azumino Interchange into the mountains, and we arrived quickly. Surrounded by mountains, the air was wonderfully clear.We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room for five people, and the spacious room was comfortable even for three generations. There was a kitchen with a refrigerator and sink, which made it easy to quickly wash tea cups and other items—very convenient.For meals, we chose the restaurant buffet. Everyone could pick as much as they wanted of what they liked, which was very satisfying. My family also said both the dishes and desserts were delicious.The play area was a space where my daughters (20 and 12) could enjoy themselves together.It’s a Hotel where each generation can have fun or relax at their own pace, and next time we’re planning a Multiple Night Stay to do some sightseeing.
