    Higashiyama Onsen - Second Visit

    Great value for money. The dinner buffet was delicious and offered a taste of the local area. The welcome drink, which included alcohol, was highly appreciated. The only downside was the noise from the heating system, so I turned it off while sleeping. Would consider staying at this accommodation again depending on the cost.

    Family-friendly

    Located near the entrance of Higashiyama Onsen, it offers very convenient access to tourist spots. While the buffet-style meals might make it difficult to avoid some crowding, the renovated and clean guest rooms, spacious public bath that doesn't feel crowded, and other services left our whole family satisfied.

    Regret

    The room was dusty, the tatami mats were worn out, and clothes and socks got covered in straw. The water in the washroom barely trickled out, making it difficult to wash my face properly. When I called the front desk for assistance, no one answered. The trash bin in the changing area of the public bath was overflowing with baby diapers, which was unsanitary and unpleasant. The futon provided was a single thin mattress that felt like a flattened cracker, causing back pain (I have stayed at many ryokans before but have never encountered such bedding). I deeply regret staying here. However, the view from the public bath was beautiful.

    Hotel with a hostess

    The phone service and front entrance reception were not the best, but the hostess's assistance helped us get through it. The bath, meals, and Room were all excellent in this wonderful Hotel.

    The open-air bath was excellent.

    It was my first time in Aizuwakamatsu and my first visit to Higashiyama Onsen. Since I prioritized the Onsen experience, I was satisfied with how good it was. The room was very nice, but the smell from the bathroom could be improved. However, I didn’t use it much as I preferred the large public bath. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and while not particularly outstanding, they were satisfactory overall. The highlight for me was the rice balls at breakfast (the Aizu Koshihikari rice was delicious). The sunset view from the window during dinner was absolutely beautiful.

    Used for a family graduation trip.

    We stayed for one night as a family. We had high expectations for the bath and meals, and they were met perfectly. Since we had stayed at another hotel in the same prefecture the previous day, we couldn't help but compare the meal options and restaurant atmosphere, but this place was excellent. The meals offered unique dishes that could only be enjoyed here, and we indulged so much that we exceeded our capacity! The breakfast also featured a completely different menu from dinner, which left us very satisfied. In the evening, we enjoyed the hotel's signature "Sora no Yu" bath while taking in the beautiful scenery. We created wonderful memories here. Thank you very much!

    The bath is wonderful, but disappointing.

    The bath was incredibly impressive and spacious, allowing for a relaxing soak until 1 AM. However, it seems that in the morning, the baths are switched between men and women. If you use the bath late at night, the amenities may already be replaced with those for men. Additionally, cleaning could be improved as there were noticeable hairs left on the floor. I ended up borrowing a cleaning tool to tidy up myself. It seems everyone is working hard—thank you for your efforts!

    I am very satisfied,...

    I am very satisfied, but I was informed during check-in that the futon would be prepared while I was having dinner, yet no one came. There were no sheets or other bedding in the Room either, so I wondered if it had been forgotten.

    Excellent.

    I used a buffet-style Stays for the first time. The food has a wide variety, and you can enjoy warm dishes from the live kitchen. The breakfast is surprisingly delicious! The staff are all smiles and very pleasant. The bath is luxurious beyond compare, with excellent water quality, spacious washing areas, and perfect sauna temperature. The Room is more than spacious enough for two people, almost too much so. If I may say, perhaps there aren't enough staff for cleaning the bathroom, as used towels and trash bins were full. Since women tend to shed a lot of hair in the dressing room, it would be helpful to have a lint roller or mop available so we can clean up to some extent ourselves. A very satisfying Stays!

    The Room was spacious and nice.

    This was my first stay, and since I don't eat much, I opted for the buffet style. It was very well thought out, with a live kitchen style, and I was very satisfied. I also enjoyed the open-air bath slowly in the snow. I deducted one star from my satisfaction rating because I felt it would have been nice if towels were provided in the bath. And most disappointingly, there was no massage, which I was really looking forward to. Other than that, I was very satisfied and would recommend it.

    Satisfied.

    This is my second time using it at the end of the year. Despite the large number of guests, the response from the Hotel was excellent. The buffet meals were also delicious, and I would like to use it again.

    Thank you for your hospitality again.

    This is my brother's family's favorite property. This time, I made a reservation for four people: my mother, brother, daughter, and myself. The day before departure, my mother fell on the futon, and we left with her in pain and feeling anxious. We borrowed a wheelchair at the property, and thanks to the attentive staff, we were able to enjoy our stay. On our way back, the staff carried my mother's wheelchair with four people to the car area, and we were all amazed by their efforts. The staff also kindly helped with taking photos at the property, despite being busy, which we greatly appreciated. The staff's warm hospitality is wonderful. This is one of the properties we would like to repeat.

    I was able to relax.

    Stayed on New Year's Day, enjoyed the onsen several times, and was able to relax. The buffet meals were creative and delicious. We had reserved a room in the 18th-floor tower building but were assigned to the 12th floor. My mother found it easier to evacuate in case of an emergency, so we stayed as is, but I thought it would have been nice to have some explanation.

    Year-end party with family

    We gather with our children and grandchildren at the end of the year and hold a year-end party at Tohou every year. We use various hotels, but the room, bath, and food were excellent. We plan to come again next year. Thank you in advance for that occasion.

    A hotel that you can be satisfied with no matter how many times you use it.

    We are a group of three seniors. We hold a stay gathering about twice a year. We alternate between using Ashinomaki and Higashiyama Onsen, but the Hotel we use is almost always the same. This time, we requested a Room close to the bath at the time of Reservation, and we were thrilled to be given a Room that met our request. We highly recommend it to everyone.

    I felt that the service provided by the Hotel staff was very good. The bedroom was also clean. I was very satisfied with the meals, which included freshly grilled steak, nigiri sushi, and sashimi. However, I felt that the water flow from the faucet after using the toilet was poor. I would like to use it again.

    Appreciation for the front desk service.

    I am grateful for the assistance from the front desk staff. When I was sending my luggage home by courier, I accidentally packed my return ticket inside and panicked. After explaining the situation over the phone, they did everything possible, and thanks to their help, I got my ticket back and was able to return home safely. Thank you very much.

    I was able to spend a relaxing time.

    The meal was very satisfying. It was delicious. The sake from Aizu was delicious. The bath was very satisfying. The view was good, and the water temperature was just right. The service was very satisfying. The facility was very satisfying. It was a perfect Stays. It was worth the time spent coming from Kansai. However, I was a bit shocked when I heard from other guests that there was a discount coupon available on the homepage.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    The staff's service was excellent, and I was impressed by the wonderful hospitality I received after a long time. The food was delicious, and the bath was pleasant, making it a very good experience. I would like to use it again when I visit Fukushima. I thought the pillow was a bit hard.

    To Stays Tōhō

    Our family's impressions after staying at Stays Tohou. - The meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, and the rice was very delicious. The handmade rice balls at breakfast were especially tasty. - It was nice that there were canned bottles of water prepared in the room for each person. - It was good that each room's light switch had the corresponding light location marked. - As reputed, the baths were wonderful for both men and women. The changing room was well-cleaned, allowing us to walk without worrying about the floor. - The "Kororinz wo Sagase" (Kororinz Search) exploration game inside the property was fun and enjoyable. Stays Tohou had many good points, and the friendly smiles and accommodating service of the staff made it a comfortable place, making us want to stay again.

    The meals and baths are excellent.

    The bath and buffet meals were very good. The meals were mainly Japanese cuisine, but everything was delicious, and I was very satisfied to eat to my heart's content. If I may say, it would have been perfect if there were a little more Western food. The bath, especially the open-air bath, had a great view and was excellent, and I enjoyed it both in the morning and evening. I will use it again if I have the opportunity.

    The entrance in front of the hotel was very crowded with many tour buses. The nearby parking lot was narrow and full. I was confused as I had to be guided by the hotel minibus to a parking lot a little further away. The buffet was extensive, and the bath was also very good. It was a satisfying stay.     I stayed here once about 10 years ago, and since I had a good impression of the dinner buffet back then, I decided to stay again this time. Honestly, the dinner didn't impress me as much as before, and I thought the content was better previously. The breakfast had a wide variety, and the ramen was delicious and satisfying. There wasn't anything particularly attentive about the customer service or service. The hot spring was not too hot and was at a temperature I liked. There were only four hairdryers, which caused some congestion. We stayed in a Japanese-style room, and my elderly parents were pleased with the slightly elevated chairs, which made it easy for them to sit and stand. The futon was just one thin mattress, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Considering the price, I think it was generally satisfactory, but I felt that the customer service could be improved a bit more.
