    In the rain

    When I pulled up to the entrance by car in the rain, I was told to move to the parking lot without even being offered an umbrella. The spot I was directed to was too small for my car, and when I came back to tell them, they then pointed me to a location down the slope at the back. It left a bad impression from the start. I checked in thinking they probably didn’t feel sorry at all about making guests walk. For some reason my Room was upgraded free of charge, so I headed to the Room without really understanding why. The elevator had a slight odor and felt dated. The bath itself was good, but if you switch between men’s and women’s sides it becomes disappointing (women will likely feel disappointed first). The green artificial turf-like mat in the open-air bath feels unpleasant when wet; I think it should be replaced with something else. The buffet was good—there were some local touches and fewer generic items than usual. Other than the parking staff, all employees were good regardless of nationality.

    Because of a sudden ...

    Because of a sudden change of plans, we made a last-minute Reservation and stayed here, and it was far more enjoyable than we expected! In the lobby right by the entrance, there was a kids’ play area, board games, and a small complimentary ice cream service—our child was thrilled. Meals were buffet-style, with a wide variety of items stylishly displayed, which made dining fun. We were especially impressed by the many dishes featuring ingredients from Ibaraki. Even though our Reservation was last-minute, they handled food allergies very carefully—for example, providing us with a detailed list—which we really appreciated. Our Room had not been renovated, so we noticed a slight musty smell and some humidity. If we stay again, we would like to reserve a renovated Room. Overall, the staff were very kind and made our stay comfortable.
