Everything was amazing!
I was completely satisfied with everything—the room, the rooftop bar, the meals, and the staff’s service! The teppanyaki dinner was different from what I had imagined; it was prepared by a female chef with a very delicate touch. It was absolutely delicious. The ocean view from the in-room open-air bath and the rooftop bar was breathtaking. My stay was one moving moment after another—a truly luxurious time. I’d love to come back again.

An Accommodation Where You Can Feel a Sense of Space
I visited solo with the intention of doing “nothing.” I chose this Hotel because I was drawn to its key concepts of “quiet” and “space.” Inside the Facility, the design favors restraint over glamour, making it a truly comfortable place where you can feel that sense of openness and stillness with both your eyes and your skin. Dinner was French, yet somehow carried a subtle Japanese touch that felt calming. I could tell each dish was prepared with such care that I almost teared up. Personally, I especially loved the five-drink pairing and the fish course. The fish was so light and fluffy—absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying a pairing, and I really understood how it enhances the flavors of the food. I think I may get hooked on pairing food and drinks from now on. The top-floor lounge also felt as if it blended into nature, and I was able to relax slowly while soaking in the footbath—so much so that it even felt wasteful to be on my phone there. The in-room Onsen baths in every guest room were truly exceptional. This time I stayed for one night, but it was so comfortable that next time I’d like to stay for two or three nights. All of this comes not only from the space itself, but also from the warm hospitality reflected in the pleasant service provided by all of your staff. I’m happy to have found such a wonderful Hotel. It’s already excellent, but since this is a soft opening, I’m looking forward to seeing it become even more refined from here. I will definitely return. Thank you very much.

A place you’ll want to return to—SHIJIMA ATAMI
A place you’ll want to come back to—SHIJIMA ATAMI I finally made it to SHIJIMA ATAMI, a stay I had been looking forward to for so long. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the calm and the sense of being away from everyday life. Every detail—throughout the Accommodation and in the Room—was beautifully designed, and even doing nothing in such a serene space felt like a luxury. In the Onsen, I was able to slowly unwind from daily fatigue. Soaking in the warm water was truly blissful. The cuisine I had been anticipating was just as wonderful—each dish carefully prepared and enjoyable both visually and on the palate. The local ingredients were treated with great care; the vegetables and fish were outstanding, and even the tableware and presentation were beautiful, making mealtime itself a special memory. Breakfast was also delicious, with dishes that highlighted quality ingredients. The finishing ramen was excellent as well. Dessert featured local fruit and was so good I wanted seconds. Everything looked beautiful too, and I enjoyed every course until the very end. You could really feel the high level of skill and dedication from both the chef and pastry chef. The gentle morning atmosphere when I woke up was so comforting that it made me think, “I want to stay here a little longer.” It wasn’t just about luxury—it was a place that filled my heart with its quietness and sense of space as well. Stepping away from my busy routine reminded me how important it is to take care of myself. My time in Atami left both my mind and body fully satisfied—and that came down to the staff’s attentiveness and perfectly balanced sense of distance. Their service was truly exceptional at a very high standard. I’ve found an Accommodation I genuinely want to return to after quite some time away from travel like this. I’d love to visit again in another season… It’s an Accommodation I would wholeheartedly recommend to someone special as well. I will definitely be back again soon. We stayed here as a ...
We stayed here as a surprise for his birthday. As it had just opened and there were only a few Reviews, we were a bit anxious, but it was a truly wonderful Hotel with great hospitality. In our Room with a sauna, we were able to relax and enjoy an unreal, unhurried time, and he was very happy too. Not only the Room, but also the rooftop lounge was amazing—we could take in panoramic views of Atami while enjoying drinks and local Atami sweets, making it the best time. A happy one-night, two-day trip. It’s a Hotel we definitely want to visit again!

It was a Hotel that made me want to visit again.
I stayed for one night from Friday to Saturday on a hot day in August. After lunch, I was walking around the Atami Station area, but the heat wore me out a bit, and I happened to pass by the station before 2:00 p.m., earlier than my scheduled pickup time (14:15). A staff member was already there holding a SHIJIMA ATAMI sign, and when I thanked them for being out in the heat, I was amazed to learn that the general manager had personally come to pick me up. Even though it was before the arranged time, they kindly escorted me to the Hotel and allowed me to check in early, which made me truly happy. The Room I stayed in was the “Deluxe Sauna Twin” with an open-air Onsen bath and sauna. Since it’s on the first floor there isn’t much of a view, but next to the bath there was even a cold plunge that felt noticeably colder than regular tap water. With the sauna, cold plunge, and relaxation chair set-up, it was absolutely perfect! You can’t see outside directly, but looking up you can see wide summer-blue skies above, so it still feels wonderfully open. In the lounge, they offered sake; wine (red, white, and rosé); beer; soft drinks; and well-known Shizuoka sweets. You can relax on indoor sofas with great views overlooking Atami. It also felt wonderful soaking your feet in the footbath on the outdoor terrace or simply unwinding on one of the sofas. Dinner featured French cuisine cooked using a stone oven. The Shizuoka ingredients (vegetables, fish, and meat) were crisp and fragrant on the outside yet tender inside—delicious even as-is—and elevated even further by each sauce. The menu changes seasonally as well, which makes me want to come back again. Breakfast the next morning was also outstanding: an inspired Japanese-Western meal created by a chef who has studied other Ryokan and more—served freshly made rather than pre-prepared—which truly impressed me. Both dinner and breakfast were filling and completely satisfying. From start to finish they took such thoughtful care of their guests; along with our enjoyable conversations throughout my stay، it became an unforgettable memory. This is a wonderful Hotel that I absolutely want to revisit when another season comes around.

We had a wonderful stay.
I made a solo Reservation to coincide with the Atami fireworks. The Hotel sits on a hill far from the bustle around the station, and true to its name, I was able to fully enjoy the peace and quiet. The room was comfortable with the fresh scent of new wood. It was quite hot this time, but in autumn or winter I think it would be wonderful to spend a calm moment on the balcony sofa while looking out at the sea. On the fifth-floor lounge, you can freely enjoy drinks and take in the ocean view. The meal was French cuisine with Japanese touches—beautifully presented and delicious. The wine by the glass was excellent as well. Led by the manager, every member of staff was genuinely warm, and I feel that creates such a wonderful atmosphere throughout the Hotel. I often stay alone when I need to unwind, so hospitality is a major point for me when choosing where to stay. This visit reminded me of that once again, and thanks to everyone there it became a truly memorable stay. When I tried to make my next Reservation right away, there weren’t many Plans available—my only worry is that it will become even more popular and harder to book in the future (in a good way!).

It was a truly wonderful Accommodation. The Room was lovely, the bath was relaxing, and we were able to unwind in comfort. I especially loved the lounge—enjoying drinks there, I found myself spending more time in the lounge than in the Room. The French dinner reflected the chef’s dedication and was absolutely delicious. The hearth-cooked dishes were exceptional as well. Breakfast was also excellent, with delicious fish dishes and an omelet, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal from dinner through breakfast. I would love to visit again to spend another relaxing stay. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to return to.

A quiet, beautiful Hotel that feels like stepping into a traditional Japanese painting
During the soft opening, I stayed to coincide with the Atami Fireworks Festival. The Shuttle Service from Atami Station to the Hotel was wonderfully comfortable, with spacious reclining seats that helped me unwind and shift into vacation mode even before arrival. Stepping into the Hotel, I was struck by its simple yet refined architecture, defined by bold vertical and horizontal lines. The expansive space leading from the entrance to the front desk was filled with gentle light through the windows, and it felt as if I had stepped into a Japanese painting. In the in-house gallery, works created by Atami artisans are displayed in beautiful harmony with the Hotel’s overall aesthetic. The guest room was also spacious, featuring a modern, calming design that made you appreciate negative space. Amenities were excellent as well—everything from a KINUJO hair dryer to an iron, portable speaker, and even a facial device was provided. From the 5th-floor lounge, you can soak your feet in a footbath while taking in panoramic views of Atami and Sagami Bay—an inviting space where you can truly lose track of time. What left the strongest impression this time was the food. For dinner, I chose the wine pairing course as well, and I was amazed at how perfectly an orange wine complemented the rich flavor of beautifully grilled fish. Breakfast was based on Japanese cuisine yet carried fragrant French touches. Even the cream cheese dessert was outstanding—it had been a long time since I genuinely felt moved by Hotel dining. I ended up lingering because everything tasted so good, but thank you very much for serving each course according to our schedule so we could make it to the evening fireworks on time. After returning from the fireworks festival, I took my time enjoying both the open-air bath and sauna—a truly restorative experience for body and mind. More than anything else, what stayed with me most was how thoughtfully all staff members supported us—from Shuttle Service pickup through our stay and right up until departure. Architecture, art, cuisine—and above all human warmth. It felt as though everything connected into one cohesive world shaped by “space” itself. I had a wonderful time during this special soft-opening period. Thank you very much for everything.

I made wonderful travel memories with my grandmother!
I recently stayed here for one night and two days with my grandmother. The staff were extremely courteous, and they kindly assisted us with the Shuttle Service and more, so we were able to spend our time comfortably from start to finish. The Room was wonderful, and the location was perfect. In particular, the open-air bath in the Room allowed us to relax without worrying about others, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious time together. My grandmother was very happy as well, and it became a wonderful memory for us. I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

This is the perfect accommodation for relaxing.
This time, we stayed with the goal of relaxing and enjoying the Onsen and delicious meals. In a word: it was the best. The Room had gentle tones that immediately made us feel at ease. At first glance it looks simple, but there is clear attention to detail throughout—doors, ceiling, walls—making it a truly wonderful space. The lounge offered a wide variety of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, along with very tasty sweets. We could relax on the indoor sofas and chairs, and on the terrace we were even able to enjoy drinks while soaking in the foot bath. Since there was an open-air bath in our Room, we were able to use it many times during our stay and were completely satisfied. The meals were great, especially because they used plenty of local ingredients. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and the dishes respected their natural flavors—so delicious without needing heavy seasoning to mask anything. We heard that both the chef and pastry chef previously worked at the Imperial Hotel, and from amuse-bouche to dessert everything looked beautiful and tasted amazing. We also enjoyed their pie-wrapped dish they hope to make a signature menu item—the pastry was crisp and the sauce was excellent. If the filling or sauce changes with the seasons, it would give us even more reason to return. Although they had just opened, all staff members provided outstanding service: thoughtful attention, warm smiles, perfect timing for each course, checking in with us along the way—we were able to hear various stories as well and spent a wonderful time. The manager, chef, and pastry chef also came by to greet us, which made dinner even more enjoyable. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the courteous send-off at check-out, we were fully satisfied until the very end. Even on our drive home my wife and I kept saying how much fun it was—and that we definitely want to come back again. We would love to visit again soon.

The Luxury of Doing Nothing
I stayed here with my elderly mother. Atami is now popular with many younger visitors thanks to the retro boom, but although the station is visible just below after walking up the hill, this Hotel feels calm and refined, away from the bustle. Onsen Ryokan with large public baths are nice too, but they can sometimes feel like a bit of a hassle, so we made a Reservation because the Room has a semi-open-air bath. We could bathe anytime without worrying about others, and even on an extremely hot day it was comfortable while still feeling the summer sun. The amenities were excellent, including soft bathrobes, and having separate loungewear and sleepwear helped us relax throughout our stay. The lounge also has a footbath, but in the daytime summer heat it was hard to stay in for long. Instead, we took our time in the indoor lounge enjoying drinks and sweets. For dinner we had teppanyaki. Almost everything was from Shizuoka, and the chef explained each item—conversation was enjoyable as well. The meat and shellfish were of course delicious, but it was also rare to have grilled hamo (pike conger) and Amela tomatoes, which we truly enjoyed. The non-alcohol pairing was outstanding. Breakfast also focused on local ingredients; the portions were just right—not too much or too little—and we enjoyed it slowly. As it had only just opened this month, some staff seemed still getting used to things, but they spoke to us thoughtfully in many ways and we could really feel their hospitality. From check-in to check-out we were able to take it easy and enjoy a wonderful summer holiday. I would love to return in another season to enjoy the luxury of doing nothing again.
