    The meals were absolutely delicious.

    It had been renovated and was very clean and beautiful. The Room felt a bit small for five people, but considering the price, it was more than sufficient. It was very clean, and the bath was great as well. Above all, the meals were the best! Even now, I still think there were dishes I wanted to try—there were so many items, including many Ishikawa-specific specialties, and everything had a gentle flavor and tasted delicious. At both dinner and breakfast we ate until we were full, yet there were still items we couldn’t try—truly wonderful. Even though we just visited, we already want to go again. Thank you very much.

    Family Trip

    We stayed in a Japanese-style Room with five people, and it felt a bit cramped, but the incredibly delicious meals and relaxing baths more than made up for it! We made wonderful memories. We’d love to come back soon to unwind again. The food was outstanding.

    A Hotel Perfect for Family Trips

    We stayed here for our elementary school-aged daughter’s birthday trip. She requested a buffet, so we looked for a place with a menu that both kids and adults could enjoy, and this is where we ended up. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes featuring local ingredients, and we were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. Not only that, but check-in and check-out were smooth, the welcome service was excellent, and the playroom—clean and well stocked with plenty of activities—was always lively with guests. The Onsen was slightly lukewarm, which was perfect for our family since we don’t like very hot baths. The staff kept a comfortable distance; there wasn’t much small talk, but whenever we asked something they responded very politely, which made our stay pleasant. The next day we took a walk through Sosenkyo Gorge right in front of the hotel. It was easy to access, and we were able to enjoy ourselves even after checking out. Thank you very much. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that the parking lot felt small for how busy it gets; when larger cars line up, getting in and out can be difficult. It would be even more comfortable if it could be expanded or improved.

    Neither good nor bad.

    I usually stay at long-established Accommodations, but I chose this one because it had just been renovated. While the building’s age is still noticeable, the Rooms and lobby have all been renovated, and I was able to spend my time comfortably. I stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room, but there was quite a lot of hair left on the bathroom floor in the Room, which was very disappointing. Even after the renovation, it didn’t feel well managed. In addition, the selection of tea in the Room, the amenities in the bath area, and the overall cleanliness did not feel upscale at all. It left me with an impression of an Accommodation that is neither clearly a casual Onsen nor truly aiming for luxury—somewhere in between. The free drinks in the lobby were limited, and even the furniture layout didn’t feel conducive to relaxing. I would like to see a coffee machine and newspapers available in the morning. The only snacks were packaged sweets costing around 250 yen; perhaps because they were clearly priced bagged snacks, it didn’t feel like an elegant lounge either. My overall impression is that this Accommodation has thoroughly cut costs to keep prices down. Since it has been renovated, I wished it had a bit more of that long-established Accommodation atmosphere. All of the staff were pleasant and friendly.

    It was a clean Room.

    I stayed on a weekday. The view was a bit disappointing, but the Room was spacious and clean. The open-air bath is slightly small. The sauna was very clean and quite hot, while the cold plunge was a bit lukewarm, so I wished it had been colder. There aren’t many buffet items, but each dish was delicious. My wife, who doesn’t drink alcohol, seemed disappointed that there weren’t many desserts or fruits. The Hotel offers rental bicycles, which were very convenient for getting around the area. The man who greeted us on arrival was very pleasant, and overall it felt like a homey Hotel.

    The Room was spacious and clean, and I was able to relax.

    Although the building is old, the Room was very clean after the renovation and had a nice atmosphere. From the Room window, we could see greenery at the back, and it was spacious enough that we were able to relax comfortably. The bathroom was also roomy, which was great. I can’t comment on dinner since we ate out, but the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options and was delicious. We didn’t use it, but there was also a service where they cook French toast right in front of you. Because there was a step in the Room bathroom and our Room was far from the elevator, it felt a bit inconvenient when bathing or going to meals, so I rated the Facility as 4. Overall, though, I was satisfied. I would like to stay again if I have another opportunity.

    An Accommodation I’d Love to Stay at Again

    The bath was wonderful. When I took the towels and bath towel out of the basket bag to bring to the bath, a hairbrush with hair tangled in it came out from the bottom. I thought it might have been left behind by a previous guest. I understand that the basket bag is reused, but it still wasn’t pleasant. The meals had a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. It would have been even better if there had been fruit at dinner. Breakfast was also very delicious. Being able to choose the onigiri filling and have it gently made right in front of me was so tasty that I went back for seconds. The staff’s service and responsiveness were also great. It was an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again.

    Mother-and-daughter girls’ night

    My mother-in-law, my daughter, and I stayed here for a girls’ trip. The Accommodation has been renovated, and the Room was clean and nice. The only downside was that the in-room bath was a unit bath, and there were no skincare or haircare amenities. The buffet-style meals were very satisfying. We’d like to visit again.

    The Hotel’s attention to detail and the staff’s hospitality are outstanding.

    Upon arrival, we were welcomed with drinks in the lounge. To our surprise, they even had unblended sake from Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute in Komatsu. The hallways and Room were very clean, and the dampness from the former Hotel seems to have been resolved. There were table tennis, billiards, and darts, and board games available in the lobby as well. Many of the locker keys in the large public bath were missing, which was inconvenient. The Onsen was a bit hot but very relaxing. The sauna was over 100°C and the cold plunge was ice-cold—absolutely satisfying. However, to reach the outdoor relaxation sofas you need to pass through the open-air bath area, so when it’s crowded you may feel a bit apologetic walking by. The food was outstanding—unlimited Noto rock oysters that would probably cost around 2,000 yen each if eaten in Tokyo. Kanazawa oden even included bai-gai sea snails. The sashimi selection also felt truly fresh, such as horse mackerel and pleasantly firm squid. The soft-serve ice cream was rich and delicious; it seems they change the mix for breakfast as well—more milky yet refreshing in the morning. Breakfast featured many locally sourced ingredients and was thoroughly enjoyable. The Hotel is located along Kakusenkei Gorge, right next to Ayatori Bridge at the entrance. You can take a walk along the river from there; however, be careful of insect bites in summer. Locals were wearing bear bells too, so some caution may be needed. It was a wonderful stay.

    Quality of the cuisine

    The indoor areas were a little cold. We enjoyed both the seasonal dinner course and the special selected beef course. We felt that if the dishes were served a bit earlier, we could enjoy them without getting too full. Breakfast was also a buffet with a wide variety of items, all fresh, and we were able to choose what we liked.

    Excellent service. Plenty of complimentary welcome soft drinks. The rooms were simple, spacious, and clean. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious. We had a very relaxing stay and would happily return.

    This is my second stay.

    The staff are friendly and kind, and even if I arrive early for check-in, the room is always ready without any waiting, which makes me happy. The buffet meals are delicious, and the stay is reasonably priced. I will make a reservation again.

    Our family stayed he...

    Our family stayed here for the first time. The bath had a soft spring quality with a perfect temperature, and our child was delighted, saying it felt just right and comfortable. The indoor Hinoki bath had a wonderful aroma that was very relaxing. The open-air rock bath was charming and atmospheric, but during heavy rain, water came through the gaps in the simple netting above, making it unusable at night. It would be helpful if the open-air bath could be used even on rainy days since many guests look forward to enjoying the baths. Meals were abundant in variety for both breakfast and dinner, carefully prepared, and absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the sashimi, handmade hamburg steak, Kanazawa-style oden, and handmade rice balls. The staff were kind to our child and even taught us how to prepare delicious herbal tea after bathing; many of them were very friendly and attentive. The Room and Facility were modern, stylishly designed with a clean atmosphere overall. However, we noticed some plastic trash and dust on entering our room; this was slightly concerning but otherwise clean and comfortable overall. One point for improvement is that elementary school children are charged the same rate as adults despite eating much less than half of an adult's portion at meals—setting a children's rate would be appreciated. Since we visited on a weekday, we could fully enjoy both the baths and meals without any rush or crowding. We would love to stay here again as a family!

    It has been renovated and looks beautiful.

    I arrived earlier than the check-in time, but I was able to receive the room key immediately and check in smoothly. Last year, when I stayed at another accommodation nearby, I was told that check-in was at 3 PM and had to go out somewhere until then. The room was clean and convenient to use, and the onsen was great. There are stairs to go up and down to reach the large public bath. The post-bath lounge was also nice. The meal included a variety of sashimi beautifully presented, which tasted delicious. In the lounge near the front desk, there were red dry wine, white sweet wine, sweet and dry sake, one type of juice, Kaga roasted tea (Kaga Bocha), and snacks like Beaver crackers available. I’m glad I could book this stay at a reasonable price through IKYU.com. Since adults and children are charged the same rate here, it would be great if there were pricing options for families where infants sharing existing bedding are free or only charged for bedding costs—I’d love to visit with my whole family!

    Completely satisfied with the room, bath, and breakfast!

    I stayed here to participate in a marathon held in the Yamanaka Onsen area. I was very satisfied with the bath and my room, which helped soothe my tired body after the race. Everything was clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the Hotel’s thoughtful touch with the many complimentary drinks available after bathing. Breakfast the next morning offered a wide variety of options, was delicious, and truly excellent. The staff’s service was also wonderful. I plan to stay again next year.

    Yamanaka Onsen Kawakaso Inn – 1 Night

    1. You are asked to settle the bill in advance at check-in, and then settle again at check-out. If you pre-settle before check-out, your card key is collected and you cannot return to your Room. This is inconvenient. 2. There is no telephone in the Room, so if there is any issue you must call from your mobile phone or go to the area next to the elevator. This is inconvenient. 3. The Noto beef and pork hamburger steak was undercooked, and it had been prepared in advance so it was not served hot. Undercooked pork should not be eaten. Please instruct staff to cook it thoroughly. I took two, and both were undercooked. There may be a risk of hepatitis E. Even though it is a live kitchen, a large amount was prepared in advance. A simple electric warmer does not keep food piping hot. 4. The facilities are clean and very nice. 5. Please include the large round light cover (lantern-like) on the veranda area of the Room in your cleaning checklist. Each time my head bumped it, more dust fell down; it appears not to have been cleaned at all. If there is food on the table, it becomes impossible to eat comfortably. 6. I honestly did not like having to walk a long distance barefoot to reach the large public bath. The locker key at the large public bath was also hard to insert/remove and inconvenient; please improve this. 7. The free drinks in the lobby and in front of the large public bath are great. The Kaga roasted green tea was delicious. 8. The snacks in the lobby are also nice. I think adding Happy Turn rice crackers would make them even more popular. 9 . It’s great that table tennis, billiards, and darts are free and can be used without a Reservation if available. 10 . There are books and magazines, as well as home video games—great for children. 11 . The Ryokan staff were very kind and polite; they left a very good impression. 12 . One more thing: the smoothies were delicious too!

    I arrived before che...

    I arrived before check-in and planned to leave my luggage, but I was kindly shown to my Room instead. I also borrowed an electric bicycle and enjoyed exploring the area nearby. The lobby lounge had drinks and snacks, making it a comfortable place to cool down. I was surprised to find wine and sake as well. I felt that serving alcohol in Kutani ware sake cups rather than paper cups would create an even nicer atmosphere. The Room was a twin Western-style room, beautifully renovated, with lovely greenery outside the window that made it very relaxing. However, the sink in the Room seemed to drain a little slowly. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was delicious overall. As for the meat at dinner, I felt it would be an upgrade to offer roast beef or sliced steak instead of a hamburger or hamburger steak, since buns can be difficult to manage. The bath was clean and very pleasant. The wall-to-wall view of greenery from the post-bath relaxation area was also soothing. Overall, I felt this is a great Accommodation, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.

    We stayed here on a family trip.

    From the moment we arrived at the entrance, a staff member was there, so we were able to park and follow the procedures smoothly without any confusion. At check-in at the front desk, I was a little worried because a Review said “it took a very long time,” but that wasn’t the case at all—the process was smooth, and the explanations were easy to understand. The Room and all other Facilities were wonderful! One thing I noticed: I had a question and tried to call the front desk, but I couldn’t find a phone. I looked around thinking there might be instructions somewhere, but couldn’t find any, so I went directly to the front desk. We used dining for both dinner and breakfast, and both were excellent! The hamburg steak grilled right in front of us was also enjoyable to watch, and the morning French toast and rice balls were great as well. Overall, it was an excellent stay and made for a memorable trip.

    It was a great-value Plan.

    We stayed as a family in a breakfast-included Plan in a Western-style room. At check-in, the front lounge was crowded, but we were able to relax thanks to services such as complimentary drinks and snacks. The process—picking up the room key and using the payment machine for advance payment—was a bit confusing, but I think self-service and cashless systems just take some getting used to. The breakfast buffet felt more Japanese-focused, so there were plenty of options to go with rice. The French toast from the live kitchen was also delicious. The Facility has been renovated, and the clean interior was comfortable. The Onsen was very relaxing as well—overall, it was a great stay.
