    Karuizawa Trip

    I chose this Hotel for my first trip to Karuizawa with my girlfriend. We booked a Plan with dinner and breakfast for one night and two days. We chose a forest-side Room that felt very Karuizawa. When we entered the Room, it was very spacious and felt like being surrounded by nature. The scent in the Room was also wonderful—relaxing, with a fragrance that reminded us of Karuizawa. We could request rental items entirely via tablet, which was very convenient. There was a bioethanol fireplace in the Room, and a staff member came to light it for us. Dinner was delicious, using plenty of local Karuizawa ingredients, and the restaurant staff—especially one male staff member—were cheerful and friendly, which made us feel great. All Hotel staff provided pleasant, perfect service. The location was also excellent; we could easily reach the main sightseeing spots on foot or by car. If I have another chance to visit Karuizawa, I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you very much for everything.

    A clean, new Hotel

    I felt that a new Hotel with a large Onsen bath in Old Karuizawa is truly rare and valuable. The lounge offerings were also excellent, with sparkling wine, sake, sours, apple juice, and more available to enjoy freely as much as you like—and being able to take drinks back to your Room was the best service. I am also very grateful to the young, international staff for their courteous and attentive support.

    The Room and location were great.

    The Room had a wonderful atmosphere, and I was able to relax at ease. The large public bath was also very clean, and towels were provided, so it was great to be able to use it without bringing anything. As someone who loves baths, it would have been even better if there had been an open-air bath. I visited with my mother in a wheelchair, but please note that there are only stairs when going to the lounge or restaurant. All of the staff were very pleasant, their smiles were memorable, and I would definitely like to stay again.

    The Perfect Autumn Getaway

    A long-awaited trip to Karuizawa with my husband and our college-aged daughter. We chose this newly opened Hotel. My husband and daughter both said, “The best!” (lol) One night felt far too short. There were drinks and snacks, a large public bath and saunas (dry and mist), rental beauty devices, even a hair iron I’d been wanting to try, and more. Since it rained the whole time in Karuizawa, we still had a great “staycation” experience at the Hotel. The number one highlight might be the Yogibo. It was so good that the three of us fought over it—and my husband ordered two online before we even left! If I had to mention anything, it would be the loungewear and the shampoo & conditioner. I usually wear recovery wear at home, so the loungewear here felt a bit rough and wasn’t very comfortable for me. As for the shampoo & conditioner, I saw in some Reviews that it made hair feel squeaky or stiff, so maybe it wasn’t just me. At Hotels I often stay at for work, there’s sometimes a “shampoo bar” where you can choose what you like—maybe I’m just used to that. For women’s hair care especially, having hair oil or hair milk available in the large public bath might help with that squeaky feeling. Or you may want to bring your usual hair care products. Sorry—just my personal opinion. We usually stay at relatives’ villas or other Hotels in Karuizawa, but right in lively Old Karuizawa Ginza during summer, having a Hotel like this that feels like another world is absolutely an option!

    Overall OK, but the staff may be inexperienced?

    Our family’s 3-night, 4-day trip to Karuizawa was unusually rainy every day, but it was still a satisfying and enjoyable trip. We stayed at Grandy Style on the first night, which gave us a great start—thank you very much. However, we were very disappointed with the service from arrival through the front desk check-in period. Therefore, our service rating is 2 points. Although we arrived by car in heavy rain, the entrance was narrow and there was no roof on the driver’s side. There were also issues with how we were guided (handling of umbrellas), and we ended up completely soaked—very disappointing. In addition, despite being asked for our name twice upon arrival, our name was entered incorrectly at the front desk, and our luggage had not been delivered to our Room. It left us extremely disappointed. The service lacked a customer-first perspective and did not live up to the brand image. We can only hope for intensive training and growth from the staff members.

    It was very good.

    The Room and bath were very comfortable, and the staff were attentive. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The location was excellent. I would like to stay again.

    This is our second stay, the first in a year.

    This was our second stay, following our first visit shortly after the opening last year. Compared with our initial stay, it felt like various operational improvements had been made. We would appreciate it if you could consider providing Japanese tea bags as an in-room amenity. Regarding the restaurant meal (dinner), we would be happy if there were a lighter course option or the ability to order à la carte.

    We were very satisfied.

    We stayed here as a lively group of four ladies on a trip. First of all, the location is excellent. You can leave your luggage and freely go back and forth to Old Karuizawa Ginza. The large public bath also provides towels, so it’s easy to drop in. If I had to be picky, it would be nice if there were a basket bag for carrying a change of clothes. At breakfast, the maitake mushroom soup at the buffet was delicious—I debated going back for seconds. All the staff spoke a bit haltingly, but you could really feel how hard they were working, which was wonderful. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable. Next time, I’d like to come back with my family.

    I stayed here a week...

    I stayed here a week after it opened last year, and the Room itself was good, so I chose this place again. For a condo-style Hotel, the service felt like a Business Hotel. Even though there were staff members present, none seemed able to provide proper service. I ate at the on-site restaurant last year and found it underwhelming, so this time I used other restaurants. The lounge is also very small compared to the number of guest rooms, so when it’s crowded you can’t really use it. However, the location is great and the Room is spacious and clean, so I think it’s a good Hotel for those who don’t expect much in terms of service.

    A Hotel with a Great Atmosphere

    It was pouring rain on the day we arrived, so I wasn’t sure what we would do, but being able to check in early really helped. As other Reviews mentioned, it was the second parking lot, and the lounge felt a bit small, which was slightly disappointing, but I guess that can’t be helped due to the location. Since it’s a new Hotel, everything felt very clean, and the Room was spacious. The lounge had a good variety of options like sparkling wine, but I’d be happy if there were beer as well. Also, if possible, I’d prefer a coffee machine rather than pre-made coffee. The breakfast buffet was really delicious. Dinner wasn’t bad either, but I wish there had been a few more dishes. It was also a bit disappointing that we were seated near families with children and it was somewhat noisy. A few minor things stood out to me, but overall I thought it was very good. I’d like to visit your Hotel in Okinawa as well.

    We left our car before check-in and explored the nearby area. They provide a Shuttle Service to the second parking lot. All staff members from every department were kind and welcoming with smiles, and in particular, the foreign staff member’s Japanese was very polished. Dinner suited my tastes in portion size, quality, and flavor, and I enjoyed it very much. For breakfast, I liked the half-buffet style where not everything is buffet-style and you can choose a main dish. I chose the most standard Room because I wanted a compact layout that’s easy to move around in, but next time I plan to choose a slightly larger Room. I was also happy that they lend out beauty devices and massage equipment. It was clean throughout, and overall it was a very satisfying stay at this Accommodation. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have been even happier if there had been draft beer in the lounge. I will visit again.

    Delicious breakfast.

    We stayed one night with breakfast included and no dinner. I was traveling with a parent who has dietary restrictions, and we appreciated having microwaves on each floor to heat the food we brought—very thoughtful from a guest’s perspective. For breakfast, you order a main dish, and drinks, salads, and desserts are served buffet-style. Everything was delicious. The Room was spacious and comfortable. Many of the staff were international, but everyone was pleasant and welcoming. This is an Accommodation I would recommend to friends.

    Because my nephew’s ...

    Because my nephew’s wedding was in Karuizawa, I was looking for a Hotel where our family of four could stay from the day before. Even though I say “kids,” they’re actually two grown sons with full-time jobs, and we don’t get many chances to travel together anymore—so we wanted a place where all four of us could stay in the same Room. The Room we chose was very spacious, with lovely furniture and interior design. In addition to a large bed, it had a wonderful sofa, comfortable chairs for relaxing on your own, and even a rocking chair—an excellent space where four adults could each unwind at their own pace! There was also a great selection of items available to borrow, such as massage devices and hair irons. The Onsen didn’t have multiple types, but it was clean and very relaxing. Breakfast was a half-buffet style: the main pizza you can choose is freshly handmade on the spot and served piping hot. The buffet salads were also delicious, and every soup option was excellent—especially the maitake mushroom soup, which my husband and I ended up getting seconds of. The lounge drinks and snacks were unlimited, and there were also alcoholic beverages and ice cream—we used it again and again. The location was great, the staff were wonderful, and everything about this Hotel was simply perfect. I’d love to come back someday for another relaxing stay!

    Although it is a spacious and luxurious Hotel...

    When we entered the Hotel name, phone number, and address into the rental car navigation system, it still showed as “unknown.” Even when my companion called, we couldn’t get clear guidance—possibly due to a language barrier. We happened to spot the Hotel’s Shuttle Service bus and were able to arrive. The lounge offers a variety of complimentary drinks (including alcohol), and you can take them back to your Room, which is great. However, the sparkling wine, highballs, and sake were all somewhat underwhelming in taste. The Italian restaurant at breakfast offers many menu options, but overall the food was not particularly satisfying. The guest rooms are new and spacious, so there is a certain level of satisfaction; however, considering the high summer rates, the value for money did not feel very strong. Given some shortcomings in staff operations as well, I ultimately felt that this property mainly targets affluent Asian guests who were staying there in large numbers at the time.

    I’d like to stay here again in a different season.

    The staff’s warm, heartfelt hospitality was truly comforting, and I was able to spend my entire stay feeling relaxed and at ease. The whole Hotel was kept impeccably clean, and I could sense thoughtful attention to detail throughout, which allowed me to unwind with complete peace of mind. Each dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and wonderful in both appearance and taste—I was completely satisfied with everything. Thanks to the staff, I had a wonderful time in Karuizawa. I am sincerely grateful. When I visit Karuizawa again, I would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much for a lovely time.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    The service has improved dramatically compared with our stay shortly after the opening last year, and we felt comfortable asking for advice or making requests. This time we stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room; it was spacious enough for two people, simple and easy to use, and we could relax in the bath. The inner balcony is a great space to unwind in any weather. We also appreciated the good selection of cups and glasses in the Room. Breakfast had an excellent variety of salads, but if possible, we would have liked some Japanese options as well—having miso soup or tonjiru near the soup station would be nice. The main dish portion was too large for us. Being able to switch to a Tsurutontan breakfast was great. One request is that the coffee and tea in the lounge and at breakfast could be more flavorful. We had a very pleasant stay and plan to visit again next year.

    Third stay

    On my previous two stays, I booked a Luxury Twin, but this time I stayed in a Deluxe Twin. It was slightly smaller than the Room I had before, but the layout and flow were excellent and easy to use; personally, I prefer this floor plan. This time I also ran into an issue on my side, and the staff kindly helped me, which was truly appreciated. I regret that I wasn’t able to thank them properly afterward. As with last time, I stayed with my elderly mother, and we noticed some steps and level changes inside the Hotel; it felt more suited to younger guests overall. Still, it’s a wonderful Hotel, and I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    Enjoy a relaxing Karuizawa getaway

    Located in Old Karuizawa, it is very convenient for strolling around. The Room has a calm atmosphere, and the lounge offers light snacks and drinks, allowing you to spend a relaxing time. The reasons for the negative points are that it is difficult to get to the second parking lot, drink refills in the lounge do not keep up and the drink quality seems to have deteriorated, and the main breakfast dish is not very good. As for breakfast, this is especially disappointing because the buffet selection and taste are excellent. I would also be happy if you could resume the previous Room-specific drink service (drinks prepared in the refrigerator).

    This is a comfortable Hotel for a pleasant stay.

    The building is new and very clean, and the Room is spacious, making for a comfortable stay. The Hotel staff are pleasant, and you can really feel that they put guests first. We only had breakfast in the Hotel; it looks great, but the taste was just average. On the downside, while the bathroom in the Room is large and comfortable with a separate washing area and bathtub, the shower pressure was far too weak... Also, unless you are the Hotel owner or staying for a Multiple Night Stay, you have to park at a municipal parking lot about 4–5 minutes away by car. If you take good care of your car, this feels somewhat unsettling. The location is excellent, so I hope they will reconsider the parking situation a bit more. —

    The Room, the meals, and the staff’s warm hospitality were all excellent. It would have been even better if there were a few more types of Onsen. I would like to stay again.

    Attentive and courteous staff service

    This was my second stay. When we arrived, there was a sudden heavy downpour, and the Hotel staff assisted us courteously even though they were getting quite wet. More than half of the staff seemed to be foreign, but their Japanese was excellent and their service was very polite. Perhaps because it was during summer vacation, there seemed to be more guests than last time, and the shower booths in the bath area were crowded. Thank you for accommodating changes to ingredients I don’t eat during meals. The service was also very attentive. My father caused a bit of trouble regarding the parking lot, but they responded kindly with a smile, which I truly appreciated. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    Comfortable in our new Facility

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of 3 nights. The staff greeted me cheerfully and were very helpful. There was one mistake each day, but they addressed it promptly and properly. Breakfast was healthy, with plenty of vegetables and fewer carbohydrates. Because the Hotel is family-oriented, I could hear children’s high-pitched voices loudly every day in the large public bath and restaurant, so it wasn’t a place where adults can relax quietly. (This isn’t the Hotel’s fault, but rather an issue of parenting.) I’d like to visit again during a time that isn’t summer vacation or when there are likely to be fewer children.

    When I wasn’t sure how to use the lounge and felt a bit nervous, a staff member kindly explained everything, and I was able to use it comfortably. The Room was also very clean, so I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

    Great location.

    The Facility is located on Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza Street, offering an excellent location. The lounge has a complimentary drink corner, and with a wide variety of alcoholic beverages available, I ended up drinking a bit too much.

    It was excellent.

    I stayed for three nights. The location in Old Karuizawa is perfect for walks. The Hotel was comfortable in every way—the Room, bath, lounge, and hospitality. I would definitely like to visit again.

    My wife and I stayed...

    My wife and I stayed here together. The space where you can lose track of time while watching the fireplace was especially wonderful. We also really enjoyed dinner—the cooking made the most of the ingredients, and the sauces were a nice change. My wife ended up feeling unwell and couldn’t go for breakfast, but thanks to the staff’s thoughtful consideration we were able to enjoy it in our Room, which made her very happy. Thank you to everyone who assisted us. A few points I noticed are below: - Limited lounge space: There are some efforts to provide privacy, but it felt quite cramped for the number of guests. - Bioethanol fireplace: It only lasts about an hour, and having to ask staff each time made me feel a bit hesitant. - Amenities: Only two drip coffee packs were provided, with four teas; for coffee lovers this feels a bit lacking. At this level, I would hope for four drip coffees total—two for arrival day and two for the next morning. - Guest mix: Because there is a wide range of Rooms and price points, the lounge in particular didn’t feel very calm due to the overall guest crowd. Lastly, it was a little disappointing that Diamond member benefits were listed but not provided.

    Our family of four enjoyed our stay.

    We stayed for one night and two days. The Room had an elegant atmosphere and tasteful furnishings, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed the meals with drinks included. We would definitely consider staying again.

    A clean and comfortable space

    This was my first stay, and the entire property was very clean, making it a pleasant experience. If I had to mention one thing, I would have preferred the dinner courses to be served a bit more quickly. However, as it was during the Obon holiday period, I understand it couldn’t be helped. The staff were all working very hard.

    Because everything else was good, the poor customer service and hospitality stood out.

    First, due to our mistake during the Reservation process, we were worried that we might not be able to stay in our preferred Room for a Multiple Night Stay and would have to change Rooms. We truly appreciate your help in arranging things so we did not need to move. The Hotel is in a great location, and the Room was spacious and very clean. The lounge service was also excellent, and we were very satisfied with those aspects. We also appreciated being able to try some health and beauty items from the loaner amenities free of charge. However, there were some very disappointing experiences, so I decided to leave this Review. First, I had a question for the front desk, but when I called from the in-room tablet device, no one answered at all. I tried three times and gave up. You may have been busy, but there was no callback either—this was my first time experiencing something like this. At dinner, service at the restaurant was extremely slow. No matter how long we waited, our food did not arrive for quite some time, which was very disappointing. We had made a Reservation for the Shuttle Service on our departure day. We arrived at the lobby early, but even after the bus arrived there was no boarding guidance (while other guests who arrived later were being guided). When I told the staff member our name, they only said “Please wait.” After that—even after departure time had passed—and even as guests who arrived later were guided onboard, our family still wasn’t called. When we finally asked again out of frustration, we were told: “You will be guided to the next bus.” I don’t know what order guests were being boarded in; however, if we had been informed from the beginning that we would be on a later bus (and why), we wouldn’t have gotten irritated and could have waited calmly. That lack of communication was disappointing. Perhaps both reception and restaurant operations are understaffed. Finally one more point: During a Multiple Night Stay, towels and amenities are delivered as sets wrapped inside towels and placed in a bag per person—but because everything is bundled together inside towels، you have to unfold new towels just to take out one item. That means you end up touching towels and amenities you won’t use; from a hygiene standpoint those towels will presumably need laundering once opened anyway. It feels wasteful given that you promote eco-friendly practices. It would be better if guests could order only what they need via tablet instead.

    A place the whole family—three generations—will love!

    Our family stayed for one night. Throughout our stay, we were impressed by the attentive and thoughtful service from all the staff, and everyone in our family was able to relax comfortably. Especially during meals, we truly appreciated your flexibility with the à la carte menu despite our unreasonable requests. Of course, the Facility is wonderful, but above all we were moved by the warm hospitality of the staff. It became a very special memory for our family. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again.
