An unforgettable dinner, impeccable service—an Accommodation we’ll definitely return to.
I stayed at Atami Sekaie. First, about the Shuttle Service. After meeting a staff member at Atami Station, we walked for about five minutes, went through a tunnel, and then headed to a car parked a little away from the station. There may be space limitations around the station, but it could be slightly confusing if it’s your first time. Check-in took longer than expected, but since it was peak season, I suppose it couldn’t be helped. Other than that, everything was truly wonderful. The Room felt luxurious, and the open ocean-facing view was incredible. The open-air bath was also very relaxing, and I was able to unwind at my own pace. Above all, dinner was outstanding. The service was a pleasant surprise—attentive in every detail without ever feeling excessive—polite and comfortable with just the right sense of distance. The sake selection was extensive, and the pricing was very reasonable as well. It may have been the best Accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. The food was delicious, and the portions were more than enough. Since it’s teppanyaki-style dining, it did start to feel a bit heavy toward the end, but everything—steak, sukiyaki-style beef, grilled curry dish, ribs—was excellent. I was fully satisfied all the way through dessert. Breakfast was just as wonderful. I had an excellent stay and will definitely return.

A wonderful Hotel!
I stayed here for my birthday. I had been hospitalized for a month in August, so I wanted to relax and enjoy my favorite Onsen. The Room was spacious, and I was able to unwind. The bath in the Room was also very comfortable—I used it seven times! (LOL) There were many dishes, and I was very satisfied with the meals. The hospitality of all the staff was wonderful as well. Thank you for such a pleasant time. I will visit again!

I made a Reservation to celebrate my husband’s retirement. We arrived a little early, but the staff kindly accommodated us. Everyone was polite and helpful, the meals were delicious, and our Room had a wonderful view. Enjoying the Onsen while looking out at the sea was truly exceptional.

Completely satisfied with everything.
This was about my fourth visit, and it had been a while since the last time, but once again I had a thoroughly satisfying stay in every respect. As it was just the beginning of September, we were served dobin-mushi and matsutake mushroom rice, allowing us to enjoy the flavors of autumn a little early. Everything was delicious. The Room was spotless, and the entire property felt clean and well maintained. Above all, every staff member was polite and composed; meals were served at just the right time, and they always seemed to be attentively looking out for guests in a natural way. It made for a truly comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

I stayed here 12 times over the past year.
I’ve stayed at other KPG Group properties as well, but recently Sekaiye has been my most frequent choice when visiting Atami. The attentive service and the perfect sense of distance from the staff make it a truly relaxing place, and I’d love to continue staying here in the future. If I could mention just one thing, I’d be even happier if breakfast offered a bit more variety.

The open-air bath in...
The open-air bath in our Room was wonderful, and I used it many times (even during the extreme heat, I surprisingly didn’t feel overheated and could soak for a long time). The amenities were high quality, and having a straightening iron available was a big plus. The large public bath felt private every time, and the water was excellent. It would be even better if the drinking water provided were in plastic bottles, so you can stay hydrated while bathing. We only had breakfast, but everything was delicious, and we enjoyed it slowly at our own pace. The evening drink and snack service on the rooftop terrace was also thoughtful and very nice. Watching the clouds drift by, we were able to spend a truly relaxing time. The dried fruit snacks were especially tasty, so it was a shame they weren’t sold at the shop. We slept soundly at night and felt refreshed. The Shuttle Service and everything else ran smoothly, and all of the staff were pleasant to interact with. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

I was truly comforted by the thoughtful, attentive hospitality!
I stayed for one night with a friend who wanted to watch the Atami Marine Fireworks Festival live. The moment our car entered the property, a staff member hurried over to guide us. While we were enjoying welcome drinks at the entrance, I was truly impressed that the manager personally came to greet us. They said it was because I had stayed before, and it made me very happy—my friend was surprised as well. That alone left a great impression, but our Room was also chic and spotless, and the private open-air hot spring bath with free-flowing water in the Room was perfect for relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast reflected the chef’s dedication in every detail, and we enjoyed everything with gratitude. Also, both my friend and I had ingredients we don’t eat; when we mentioned this, they kindly replaced them with different dishes—and even provided an updated printed menu. We were simply filled with appreciation. Our assigned staff member supported us attentively without being intrusive, always with a refreshing manner. It really felt like their service philosophy is consistently upheld day to day. For the main event—the fireworks festival—a Shuttle Service bus took us to the venue, and each of us received a simple chair so we could enjoy the show comfortably. And on top of that, our seats were directly in front of where they launched them—an incredible spot! Thank you so much! Thanks to you, my friend and I are still reminiscing about what a memorable trip it was. Please continue to be such a wonderful Accommodation for years to come.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay!
At check-in, water droplets were dripping from the ceiling air-conditioning onto the table and floor, the provided yukata was extremely wrinkled, and when I asked whether you had samue loungewear, I received a curt response: “We only have one size.” It made for a slightly uneasy start. However, in conclusion, we had a wonderful vacation overall! Most of the staff were excellent—especially the person who guided us to our Room and the person who served us at dinner with such dedication and polite Japanese. Their hospitality left a lasting impression. The food was delicious, and above all, the sunrise we watched from the open-air bath in our Room was truly moving. The amenities were well stocked, and the pajamas were very comfortable. That said, it would be even better if there were a bit more variety in indoor wear suitable for walking around inside the property. It’s such a shame about the initial issues—it felt like it was “so close…!”—so I’m leaving this rating with hopes for improvement going forward. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Issues found with cleaning and Facility inspection.
This was my second stay, the first in two years. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed wonderful views. However, as with my previous visit, I felt slightly uncomfortable because the room cleaning and Facility upkeep did not seem thorough. Between the changing area and the shower room, there was a partially used set of amenities (cotton swabs, cotton pads, and a hair tie) left on the floor. I also noticed some mold in the shower room. The wisteria light on the balcony would not turn on; when a front desk staff member came to check it, they said there was a broken wire and repairs had not caught up. During my previous stay, not only was the main unit of the brush dryer missing, but I also noticed something dripping into the toilet bowl, which concerned me. Other than that, I was able to spend a comfortable time. I hope that cleaning and Facility inspections will improve as mentioned above, and I would like to visit again someday.

Wonderful Cuisine and Hot Springs
It was, without a doubt, a wonderful Accommodation. The Japanese kaiseki dinner was outstanding in flavor, texture, and presentation—truly the best in Atami. Hot dishes were served piping hot, and the chilled sashimi was wonderfully fresh and vibrant. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting food of this level at a Hotel, but it was so exceptional that I had to leave this Review. The head chef and everyone in the kitchen are doing incredible work. I will definitely return. Due to work, I ended up having to go home without staying overnight, but I was deeply impressed by how excellent the staff’s service and teamwork were. The hot spring water in the large public bath had a gentle sulfur scent and was slightly milky-white. The open-air bath in the Room with natural spring water also had a perfectly comfortable temperature. There were plenty of towels provided, and in the post-bath lounge there were cold milk drinks (including coffee milk), mini beers, and more—everything you could ask for. I can’t believe such a lovely Accommodation exists in Atami. Next time, I’d like to buy one of their coasters. Seikaie truly was wonderful.

Very satisfied.
We stayed with our 3-year-old child, and they thoughtfully provided a children’s yukata and sandals. Everyone was happy, and we kept saying how much we’d like to stay again. The view was amazing, and we were able to relax. The staff were wonderful as well, and we would love to return. Thank you very much.

We had a relaxing stay.
We stayed as a family. The meals were delicious, and all the tableware was lovely. What quietly impressed me was that, in addition to a hair dryer, both a curling dryer and a straightening dryer were provided in the Room. I’d never seen three types prepared even at other luxury Hotels, and the amenities were well stocked, which was great. Also, the changing area floor felt like it had underfloor heating, which I really appreciated. The bath was so relaxing that I ended up going in several times. Since the weather wasn’t great, I hope to visit again when it’s nicer.

A Spectacular Fireworks Festival
Since my last stay was in the Sekaie building, this time I chose Tsuki no Michi. I had heard that Shuttle Service is available by bus on days with the fireworks festival, so I made my Reservation to match the schedule. Dinner was set to start at 17:30 to fit the Shuttle Service, but because crowds were expected, the meeting time was moved up to 19:15, and toward the end things felt a bit rushed. Since dinner takes about two hours, it may be better in summer to allow more time. Unlike traditional Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki is enjoyable both visually and taste-wise. However, it was a little disappointing that there was hardly any conversation, as they were cooking while managing multiple stations and keeping an eye on the time. The meal itself was very delicious, and the portion size was just right. There was some waiting at times since they were covering three areas. The open-air bath in the Room felt slightly lukewarm—perhaps because it was summer—which made it perfect for a long, relaxing soak. For the fireworks festival Shuttle Service, I could tell how much effort it took from the staff. The park was crowded as well, but there was space behind us and a nice breeze coming through. Once it started, seeing the fireworks launch right in front of us was truly moving. It was also great that we could watch while seated. If our schedule works out again, I would love to return. If you want to relax quietly at your Accommodation, pairing your stay with the fireworks festival may not be ideal—but since this trip’s purpose was the fireworks festival, we were completely satisfied. The return trip is crowded, but we made it back within an hour after it ended, so it wasn’t a problem at all. Thank you very much to all of your staff. Last time we visited in March for a retirement celebration; you kindly arranged flowers and helped with photos as well—I’m truly grateful for all of your care and consideration. Next time I’d like to visit in a different season and spend more time relaxing slowly.

Preparation Timing
The Onsen and the views were excellent. However, while we were having breakfast, staff intermittently pounded meat and chopped vegetables with a food processor in the open kitchen right in front of us, which was so noisy that we couldn’t hold a conversation. Since breakfast would have been over in about 15 minutes, I found it strange they couldn’t wait.

We were very satisfied! A great Hotel for families with a baby.
The ocean view from the entrance was amazing—such a beautiful景色! We were welcomed with a welcome drink and given a very courteous 안내. The only disappointing point was that the details we had inquired about online hadn’t been shared with the front desk. That was the only issue. There was an Onsen just outside our Room, and since the weather was great, we fully enjoyed it—Onsen after arriving, then dinner, a bath, and another Onsen in the morning. They also prepared a baby crib for us, so even with children we were able to spend very comfortable time in the Room. The amenities were well stocked and we were very satisfied! The meals were delicious and very filling. Not only dinner, but breakfast was also generous—we had such a happy time. As a surprise from the Hotel, they remembered from our conversation that our child’s birthday is the day after tomorrow and prepared something special for us. Thank you so much!! Thank you as well to the staff who served our meals for their very polite service! It turned into a wonderful trip to Atami! If you’re looking for a Hotel where you can enjoy some luxury time while traveling with a baby or small children, this is one I can truly recommend!

I was impressed by everything.
We stayed here for the first time on his birthday, and everything was wonderful. He was delighted and said it was the best Accommodation he has ever stayed at! The teppanyaki meal was delicious, and the Onsen temperature was adjusted so it could be enjoyed even in summer, making it very comfortable and relaxing. Next time, I’d like to visit again with him in winter!

The open-air bath in the Room is wonderful!!
A filial trip for my mother. We were looking for a Hotel with a private open-air bath in the Room, and this one came up. As expected, having a bath in the Room was very comfortable, and the hot spring water was excellent with free-flowing natural spring water. The meals were Japanese cuisine, all delicious, and we had ocean-side seating—enjoying the sunset, twilight, and even the full moon—so we were very satisfied in that respect as well. It was a wonderful Accommodation that left lasting memories for us as mother and daughter.

We had a very satisfying stay.
I had made several requests before my stay, and they were handled quickly and courteously, which made me look forward to the day of arrival. From the warm welcome to being shown to my Room and the service at the restaurant, every staff member had a wonderful smile and provided pleasant hospitality. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying. The Room was spacious, and the ocean view from the in-room open-air bath was breathtaking. The only issue was that the handheld shower holder was a bit loose and the head sometimes slipped down, and since the water pressure was quite strong, it would have been perfect with a softer-flow showerhead.

A Thank-You Message to Atami Sekaie
Overall, it was very highly rated. It ranks among the best places I have stayed so far. The cuisine is top-class. I was extremely satisfied with the tableware, ingredients, presentation, taste, and portion size. I was impressed by the chef’s dedication and sensibility. The service on the 5th-floor terrace was also excellent. The Room facilities were thoughtfully designed in every detail—calming lighting, layout and placement, automatic door closing, the flow between the washroom, shower room, and open-air bath, underfloor heating, and more. That said—only slightly, and this is just my personal view—the handle on the sliding door is small, so at night my hand sometimes accidentally touches the shoji screen; it may be worth improving this. I also think some ingenuity is needed for the handle when entering the washroom. As I have presbyopia, it would be helpful if the labels for shampoo, conditioner/treatment, and body soap were easier to read because the text is small—I take off my glasses when washing my hair. It was a little disappointing that one of the dining service staff (I happened to be assisted by a beginner) could not answer questions I wanted to ask. Lastly, you offered yoga classes as well; however, I only learned about them from an in-house 안내 near departure—if this could be mentioned during check-in explanations upon arrival, I would appreciate it.

It was very comfortable to stay at “Sekai-e” again after a long time.
It had been a long time since I last stayed at Sekaie, especially Tsuki no Michi. I came this time to coincide with the Izusan fireworks, so I was worried about the weather, but they started without any issues, and the large fireworks spreading out right in front of us were spectacular. The food was delicious, and the Onsen was wonderful—we truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.

Quiet and relaxing
We stayed here hoping to relax quietly in the Onsen. Both the Room and the Facility were clean, and we were able to unwind at a leisurely pace. The meals were also very delicious. The private open-air bath in the guest room was spacious and especially popular with my family. We felt at ease thanks to the thoughtful hospitality of everyone who assisted us, including at reception and in the restaurant. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Wanting to take a break from everyday stress and relax on my own, I chose this Accommodation because it’s close to the city center and has an in-room Onsen. The wonderful hot water, delicious meals, and stunning views were truly soothing. I realized at the station on my way home that I had left something behind, and when I called, they kindly delivered it to me—thank you very much. I requested a morning newspaper and thought it hadn’t been provided, but it may have been placed at the drop-off/pick-up spot by the entrance (like a delivery locker). I’m sorry I didn’t notice. I caused trouble by forgetting things so often, but soaking in the Onsen while listening to birdsong in the morning sun became an unforgettable time.

Atami Sekaie was a wonderful Hotel. The Room was very clean, and the staff were well trained. The meals were especially outstanding.
I had originally planned a trip with my mother, but we had to change plans at the last minute due to her health. The Room was clean, and all the staff provided very courteous service, which made it a wonderful trip. I also really appreciated the services, like enjoying the complimentary drinks on the upper-floor terrace while taking in the view. The meals in particular—both breakfast and dinner—were outstanding. The portions were just right, and everything was delicious. The onion dressing for the salad was so surprisingly good that I ended up buying it, and I’ve been repurchasing it ever since. It’s truly delicious. The service from the staff member in charge of dining (a gentleman) was also very attentive, and I was impressed by how perfectly timed each course was. Thank you as well for coming outside to see us off after dinner. I did feel that the large public bath was a bit small, but everything else was so great that it didn’t feel like a negative. I would definitely like to return again someday. I had a wonderful time and it was truly relaxing. Thank you very much.

Comfortable
This was my first stay here, and it was exactly what I needed to refresh and get away from work. The Room was comfortable and wonderful, and I was able to relax at a leisurely pace. It was a great change of pace. Dinner in the evening focused mainly on meat dishes; it was very delicious, but I felt that with a bit more variety it would be even better. I would like to visit again.
