    My favorite hotel that I always rely on

    I have been staying here as my regular hotel for nearly five years, and I always have a comfortable stay. This time I booked a room-only plan, but the breakfast is also very delicious, and I am satisfied with the view from the room and the staff’s service. I look forward to staying with you again.

    A Relaxing Hotel

    A charming, cozy hotel with a compact exterior and first-floor lobby, decorated with large plush toys. The staircase wall up to the second floor is lined with many paintings, giving it a Pirates of the Caribbean-at-Disneyland vibe. The room is also on the smaller side, but the calming color scheme—and the view of Toyokawa Inari and the greenery of the State Guest House outside the window—made it feel very relaxing. Having a coffee maker in the room was another nice touch. Decaf pods are also available at the amenity bar next to the lobby. Breakfast is served on the second floor and offered a great variety! The made-to-order omelets came with about five filling options, and when I couldn’t decide, they kindly said, “You can have them all.” I chose cheese and mushrooms with truffle sauce—delicious. Coffee and tea can be taken back to your room in paper cups, and a staff member mentioned that the coffee machine is Italian-made. The staff left a very friendly impression overall; just like at the omelet station, everyone was kind and attentive. They also allow you to keep your car parked for up to one hour after checkout, so we were able to make an unplanned visit to Toyokawa Inari before leaving—and even stop by Toraya for tea. Both are right across from or next door to the hotel, perfect for a short stroll. The station is less than a 5-minute walk (Akasaka-mitsuke ≒ Nagatacho), and there’s also a convenience store along the way—very convenient. I was worried that exterior wall construction might block our view, but during our stay there were only two ropes (?) outside our window, so nothing obstructed it—thankfully.

    A Fun Girls’ Trip

    We chose this hotel for our girls’ trip focused on Harry Potter, as it was affordable and close to the theater. Even though we checked in a bit late, the staff welcomed us warmly. We booked a plan with breakfast and used the restaurant; we really appreciated their consideration in seating our companion who has trouble with her legs. The restaurant isn’t very large, but there was a good variety of dishes to choose from, and the taste was quite good. Personally, I was happy to have a little dessert in the morning. The shower head in the room was a ReFa, which felt like a nice treat. The bed was spacious and very comfortable to use. The greenery of Akasaka Palace seen from the restaurant and our room window was beautiful.

    It is a good Hotel.

    It was a good Hotel, but there was a sock under the desk that appeared to have been left by a previous guest. I hope you will be more careful in the future.

    Very good

    The Accommodation was clean and had a great atmosphere, with thoughtful extras such as pouch-style skincare sets, sheet masks, bath salts, a high-quality hair dryer, and a TV monitor with internet access—making it a very pleasant stay. They also provided decaf coffee capsules, which I really appreciated after arriving at night when I didn’t want caffeine but still wanted to relax with a cup of coffee. Thank you very much.

    A Quiet Western-Style Hotel in Akasaka

    The shower had strong water pressure, and the Mirable showerhead made it quick and comfortable to get ready. I also appreciated the separate pajama set. The hair dryer was high quality; although the high-pitched sound was noticeable late at night, I was happy with how shiny it made my hair. The space between the desk and the bed was a bit tight, making it slightly difficult to move around. I was very grateful for the thoughtful service at the front desk of providing two bottles of water per person as well as bottled tea—it was really helpful and appreciated. Thank you very much.

    The breakfast was excellent.

    I hesitated because it’s a bit far from the station and there is no large public bath, but in the end it was a wonderful stay. I haven’t had the chance before, but I’d like to try other Hotel Monterey properties as well. Since it was hot outside, I really appreciated the salt candies and chilled drinks offered at check-in. The hotel is compact but stylish, and the breakfast venue in particular had a lovely atmosphere—I enjoyed an elegant time there. Everything was very delicious. Just one thing: I was disappointed that items I was looking forward to, such as the omelet rice and desserts, were cleared away before I realized it. Since I regretted missing them (haha), it would have been even better if someone could have given me a quick heads-up. Also, I left something behind and caused you trouble. It has safely been returned to me. Thank you for your warm message as well—it made me want to stay again. I don’t get many chances to visit Tokyo, but I’d like to stay with you again next time. Thank you very much.

    Your First Time in Akasaka

    This was my first time visiting Akasaka. It was a hot day, so I checked in to the Hotel early. The staff were very kind and helpful. Thank you very much. The breakfast omelet was delicious.

    At check-in, the fro...

    At check-in, the front desk staff offered us an aromatic hot towel and salt tablets for hydration. It was very hot that day, so we were truly happy with their thoughtful gesture. Also, the pancake maker at breakfast was quite unique, and we enjoyed two freshly made pancakes. The building felt a bit dated, but that actually added to the Disneyland-like atmosphere, which we really liked.

    I am very satisfied.

    When staying in Tokyo, I often choose Hotel Monterey Akasaka for both business and leisure, and I always feel comfortable and at ease when staying in Akasaka. This time, I stayed for one night with a friend on a private trip. The entire Hotel has a calm atmosphere, the facilities are well maintained and clean, and once again I had a very comfortable stay. The Room was spotless and relaxing, which always gives me peace of mind every time I stay here. Above all, the staff were exceptionally courteous, making my experience pleasant from check-in throughout my stay. No matter when I visit, they welcome me warmly, and their thoughtful attention to detail is one of the reasons I like this Hotel so much. The location is also excellent—very convenient when I have plans around Akasaka—and after returning to the Hotel, it’s quiet and easy to unwind. It’s a Hotel that feels easy to use for both work trips and personal stays. Once again, I was able to relax comfortably and am very satisfied with my stay. In the past my husband usually made the Reservation(s), so this is my first time writing a Review. Thank you as always for welcoming me so kindly. I would love to stay here again whenever I visit Tokyo.

    Time with My Daughter

    I usually spend time with my daughter who lives apart either at my family home or by visiting her place. This time, we decided to relax and chose Hotel Monterey Akasaka again, where we stayed earlier this year. It’s something you can’t do unless you make a conscious effort—taking it slow and having unhurried conversations. We were able to spend precious, fulfilling time at our favorite Hotel Monterey Akasaka. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    It exceeded my expectations!

    This was my first time staying here. A long time ago, I stayed at a Hotel in Kobe from the same group, and I had a great impression then—so that was the deciding factor. Just as I remembered, both the interior and exterior have a classic, elegant, and charming atmosphere, and I felt excited the moment I walked in! The staff member at the front desk guided me very politely, so check-in was smooth and pleasant. I also really appreciated receiving a chilled hand towel, salt tablets, and a cold drink right after check-in. The Room was well stocked with a coffee machine and plenty of bottled water, and I was able to relax quietly. The breakfast buffet had far more variety than I expected—I was amazed! I went at the earliest time slot, but it was quieter than I thought it would be, so I could enjoy my meal in a calm setting. Personally, the mini baguettes and croissants in the bread section—and especially the omelet made right in front of me—were delicious. There were also soft-serve ice cream and a semi-automatic pancake machine, which made breakfast really fun. They even offered a service where you can take coffee back to your Room after your meal—it made my morning feel perfect. Since I had a late check-out Plan, it was wonderful to relax in the Room even after eating until I was full! Everyone on staff was kind to me, and honestly the service was so good that it made me question whether the price could really be right. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay! I would definitely love to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    I’ll stay here again!

    I’ve stayed at Hotel Monterey in Kyoto and Hanzomon before, and this was my first time in Akasaka, but it didn’t disappoint! It’s a bit tiring because you have to walk uphill from the station (lol), but it’s still close, and the area has plenty of convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants, which made it very convenient. The breakfast buffet was tasty, though the venue wasn’t very large so there seemed to be fewer options than in Kyoto or Hanzomon. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Tokyo!

    A place in Tokyo you’ll want to make your go-to accommodation.

    This was my second stay because I had a great experience last time. I love traveling and stay at many Hotels, but this Hotel really takes care of every detail, making it very comfortable. The drink and hot towel service, the user-friendly Room layout, the Mirable showerhead, and the comfortable loungewear made my stay stress-free, and it has become one of my favorite Accommodations. It is a bit of a walk uphill from Akasaka-mitsuke Station, which was tough in summer, but even so, it’s a Hotel I would choose again in Tokyo.

    Not far from the station, with good access. The shower head was a Mirable, and at the front desk there were drinks (green tea, juice) and refreshing foot sheets available, which we used. We stayed with three people and had an extra bed added, but when we moved items to make space for it, we found hair and dust.

    This was my second stay.

    I had a great first stay, so I chose to stay here again. The front desk staff were kind, and the Room was comfortable. I was happy that the amenities included UV protection and hair cream.     I love a classic atmosphere.

    I had booked a single Room, but they upgraded me to a twin, and I had a very comfortable stay! It was my first visit in a while, and the amenities have been upgraded. I was happy to find so many options—face masks, eye masks, leg-refresh sheets, bath salts, and more. They even provided bottled drinks. The Room was comfortable with everything I needed. One thing I always end up doing is soaking the bath mat when I shower—even with the shower curtain—maybe because of the shape of the tub edge. Next time I’ll be more careful... Unlike many recent Business Hotels, I really love the classic-style interior here. It’s located about halfway between Akasaka-mitsuke and Aoyama-itchome; it’s a bit of a walk from the station, but when you stay here Toyokawa Inari Shrine and Toraya are right in front of you, so you can easily stick to your usual routine.

    A Hotel with Thoughtful Attention to Detail

    A 5-minute gentle uphill walk from Akasaka-mitsuke Station. Conveniently close to the station, with sightseeing spots nearby. I was impressed by the Hotel’s thoughtful touches throughout. They even provided basic skincare items, including cream and sunscreen. Breakfast was delicious, with great attention to ingredients. They also offered free tea in a convenient portable size—truly a stylish Hotel with everything you could ask for. I’d like to stay here again when I’m in the area.

    I like the slightly ...

    I like the slightly retro feel of Hotel Monterey, and I stay at different locations. The bathroom was clean, and the view from the window was lovely. Amenities are self-serve, so I was satisfied while also being mindful of the environment. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the station, but it’s along a main road, so I felt safe even walking alone at night as a woman. I’d like to stay again.

    The cleaning was disappointing.

    This was my first stay. I arrived by car around 2:40 PM on a weekday and was able to check in smoothly. The service that lets guests choose their own amenities and drinks was excellent, and I was pleased that the Room had two bottles of water per person. The twin Room on the 12th floor seemed like it would have a great view, but the window had wired glass and an additional film applied, which made the scenery a bit difficult to see. I also noticed that part of the film at the top of the window was peeling. There were noticeable stains on the carpet in the Room, and in the bathroom I saw black mold around the drain fitting above the bathtub and along parts of the rubber gasket, so there were some concerns regarding cleanliness. The price is reasonable and easy to use, and I am satisfied with the staff’s service and hospitality. If cleaning and Facility maintenance are further improved, I believe this Hotel will be even more comfortable. I would like to stay again, so I look forward to future improvements.

    It was a lovely Hotel with lush greenery outside the window. (Stayed before the exterior wall construction.) From Akasaka-mitsuke Station, you’ll need to walk up a fairly steep hill, so if you have a lot of luggage, taking a taxi might be a good idea.

    It’s a gentle uphill...

    It’s a gentle uphill walk from Akasaka-mitsuke Station, so it may feel tough if you have luggage. There are many places to eat nearby that are easy to enter even when you’re alone. The building has a Western-style, “foreign residence” vibe and is different from a Business Hotel, so it may not be everyone’s taste, but I had a very comfortable stay. Because the Facility has darker tones, dust tends to show easily, so I imagine housekeeping has a hard job. I’d definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Perfect base for visiting the State Guest House. We had a calm and comfortable stay.

    My mother and I stayed for two nights. We chose this Hotel for its great location, strong Review ratings, and good balance of price, as our main purpose was to visit the State Guest House Akasaka Palace.\n The Hotel itself isn’t brand-new, but it was kept very clean throughout and had a calm atmosphere that made it extremely comfortable.\n All staff were courteous and pleasant, so we felt at ease during our stay.\n The other guests also seemed quiet and respectful, which made it easy to relax.\n Amenities were well stocked, including a YA-MAN hair dryer, a Mirable shower head, complimentary green tea, and bottled water.\n In particular, the “Megu Refre” items at the amenity bar felt great on my tired feet after walking all day and were a big help during the trip.\n Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and each item was high quality and delicious.\n Considering the location, service, and Facility offerings, it was excellent value for money. I would gladly stay here again when visiting the Akasaka area.\n Thank you very much.

    Comfortable views and a comfortable Room

    This was my first stay here. It was a wonderful Hotel in the very heart of the city—so impressive that I only wish I had discovered it much sooner. The lush green view from the window was simply outstanding. Many Hotels provide amenities in the lobby, but here everything was prepared in the Room, so there was no need to go and pick anything up, and I could relax with peace of mind. The staff were also extremely courteous, which made my stay very comfortable. I was especially impressed by the coffee machine in the Room. The tea and coffee were delicious. I would definitely like to stay again.

    I guess I got my hopes up too much.

    Because it’s a Hotel in the city center, the room is small. It’s also an old Hotel. The Reviews were good, so I expected too much. At check-in, the Japanese female staff member didn’t smile and was unfriendly, which left a very bad impression. It put me in a bad mood. Hotel staff are usually pleasant, so I was surprised. At check-out, the foreign staff member was friendly and smiling. After check-out I temporarily left my luggage there, and that same staff member was also very cheerful and kind.

    Thank you for your kind hospitality.

    We were satisfied with the location and the meals. However, it was disappointing that the air-conditioning Facility and the refrigerator were slow to start. Since it was fully booked over the weekend, we could not change our Room, which was unfortunate, but we are grateful for the kindness of all the staff who did their best to assist us.

    It was comfortable!

    I’ve stayed at various Hotel Monterey properties, and while this one was reasonably priced, I was truly impressed by the service. The Simmons bed was excellent. Thank you very much.
