We stayed as a family of three. The room was the largest we've ever stayed in, and the amenities were excellent. The open-air bath on the balcony was a bit hot and took some time to get into, but it was so wonderful that we wanted to use it multiple times during our stay. All the meals were truly delicious. We would love to stay again. Thank you for all the hospitality.

The room, bath, and meals were all very satisfying!

I wanted to visit Yugawara Onsen, so I splurged and made a reservation. I was a bit anxious because I didn't have much time to research beforehand, but it was completely unfounded, haha. The entrance has a calm atmosphere. I was warmly welcomed. I am tall, and often the in-room wear provided doesn't fit me, but the attendant discreetly changed it to one that suited my height. It was a delightful gesture. The room was very clean, and the private open-air bath and the view from there were both wonderful. The large public bath is a semi-open-air bath, offering a different atmosphere from the room's bath. I was also very satisfied with the food. I chose the pairing wine set of five, and it was a great decision. I enjoyed various wines that paired well with Japanese cuisine, including white, red, sparkling, and rosé! Although it's a bit far from Yugawara Station, there is a shuttle service from the station, and the hospitality of the staff makes it a heartwarming inn. I highly recommend it!

    The best time

The moment I slid open the door to the room, I couldn't help but exclaim how lovely it was with its bright and open interior. The very user-friendly design made me feel like the relaxed atmosphere was soothing my fatigue, and I definitely want to come back to this place again.

    This is a child-friendly ryokan.

I was looking for a hotel with a private open-air bath and in-room dining since I have a one-year-old daughter, and I found this ryokan. The tatami flooring made me feel it would be safe for my child, which was the deciding factor. We stayed in a room called "Awayuki," which had a massage chair and an open-air bath on the balcony. It was spacious enough for the three of us to bathe together comfortably. The water was a bit hot, so we added some cold water. Both dinner and breakfast were kaiseki cuisine, with a wide variety of kids' menu options. We requested simmered udon (cut into 1cm pieces) for our daughter's dinner and porridge for breakfast. The kaiseki dishes were very delicious and filling, leaving us quite satisfied. There were many foreign staff members, but their service was polite, and they were kind to our daughter, who seemed to enjoy herself very much, which made us happy. They provided children's body soap, bed guards, and a diaper bin, and there were ice cream and drinks available at the lobby and the entrance to the large bath. The services were excellent, making it a very satisfying one-night, two-day trip. Thank you very much. We would like to use it again if we have the opportunity.

    The best hospitality

We stayed for two nights at Ashikari, which we had been curious about for a while, to celebrate my husband's birthday. Both the room and the meals were wonderful, and we indulged in luxury, but the best part was the staff's hospitality and attentiveness, which made us feel very comfortable. I'll work hard so that we can visit again.

    Wonderful hospitality

We had an elderly person with mobility issues, but the staff were very kind, and my mother was very pleased. The view from the room was also wonderful, and everyone was impressed. We would love to visit again.

The hospitality of the service is excellent.

As soon as the car arrived, the opening and closing of doors, waiting for luggage, and consideration were excellent. Hospitality beyond that of Japanese people. Although the room was located a bit far with ups and downs, they taught us a closer route. I felt some wear and tear on the building, but the cleaning was thorough even under the bed. It was bright, with light streaming in from the windows and greenery, allowing us to relax slowly. For dinner, I've stayed at various places before, but I've never seen such conduct even at prestigious inns. Even though they are not Japanese, they can provide wonderful thoughtfulness. I think it was a pleasant service. The amount of food was just right. In the morning, there was Yakult placed in the large public bath, which was also nice. Even on the way back, when we passed each other in the hallway on the stairs, they quickly carried our luggage and carefully transported it to the car. This person also had wonderful conduct during dinner, which was impressive. Due to the location being surrounded by nature, insects are inevitable, but stink bugs are everywhere. They were scattered in the open-air bath in the room, inside the room, and in the large public bath. It was unfortunate that I never found out who the landlady was until the very end.

    Welcome Baby Inn

Stayed for my son's first hot spring trip. As it is a "Welcome Baby" certified inn, we were able to use it with great peace of mind. They not only provided a diaper trash can and baby body soap, but also washed baby bottles and baby food dishes, which was very much appreciated. The staff talked to my son a lot, and he was able to enjoy his stay. Since my son is still small, it's difficult to eat out, but we were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner in our room, allowing us to spend a luxurious time for the first time in a while. It was a wonderful inn that we are sure to repeat. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

It was a lovely accommodation that was family-friendly.

We stayed with our 1-year-old child at this "Welcome Baby" inn. They provided various items such as a baby bed, baby guard, and baby bath, which was very helpful. The hot spring was extremely pleasant, and we were able to enjoy it multiple times. We could see the autumn foliage trees, so I thought it would be beautiful during the fall season. However, it was a bit embarrassing that we could see into another room from the balcony, and I think we were both a bit conscious of each other. Since the meals were served in the room, we could enjoy them without worrying about our child making noise. We booked the standard plan, but it felt like the portions were a bit large. The staff member in charge frequently called our child's name and showed a lot of care, which made us happy. Overall, it became a very good memory.

Very satisfied. Highly recommended, especially for those with young children.

Thank you very much for taking care of us during this trip. The room was clean, spacious, new, modern, and stylish. The food was delicious and also stylish, with a generous yet appropriate amount (traditional ryokan kaiseki meals can often be too much). The hot spring was of high quality, and after bathing, my body felt warm and cozy. The open-air bath in the room was also clean, with a spacious and open terrace. The hot spring was hot, and we needed to adjust the temperature with water before bathing, but that's because it was from the source. Above all, we appreciated the detailed and warm hospitality of the staff. Every time they saw our child, they would talk to them, and we truly felt the welcome for babies. They lent us toys, a Bumbo seat, a diaper trash can, children's yukata, wet wipes, and baby body soap, and they moved two beds against the wall and attached bed guards for us. For us traveling with a baby, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable time. However, we hardly noticed any noise from other rooms (footsteps, crying, etc.), so I think it's a wonderful inn that I would recommend for trips with just adults as well. We are talking about how we would like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

    Very satisfied.

I used this place for the first time for my wife's birthday. We were completely satisfied with the room, service, and food. My wife and child were also delighted and said they wanted to come again, so we definitely want to use it again. The only regret was that we couldn't use the SPA because the therapist was not available, so next time we will make a reservation in advance. Thank you for the wonderful time.

    I was able to relax.

This is my second stay. The first time was in Sagamiji, and this time in Katsuragi, both of which were spacious rooms. The open-air bath was comfortable, allowing me to forget about work and relieve my daily stress. The dinner portions were large, but the rice was delicious, and I ended up having seconds. The breakfast was well-balanced, and it was nice to be able to choose the fish. Overall, it was a good inn, and I would like to use it again someday.

    Japanese-style resort

I wanted to have a luxurious trip with my young children, so I chose to stay here. We selected the Sagamiji room. It was truly wonderful, without any exaggeration. The room has the open feeling of a resort and the scent and atmosphere of Japan. I highly recommend using the open-air bath in the room both at night and in the morning. Even though it was September, the gentle sound of cicadas in the morning and the bath were experiences you can't find elsewhere. I thought it might be a bit formal, but the staff were very considerate of our children. The dining area was divided between those with children and those without, which made it very comfortable without having to worry about others. The meals were kaiseki, so adults could enjoy delicious food along with wine and sake. It was an inn that made me want to experience it again in winter. I highly recommend it to those who want to enjoy the four seasons and savor a leisurely time at a ryokan.

We stayed as a couple over sixty with our daughter. The service was courteous, and the room was very pleasant with a great sense of openness. The baths, both the private and the public ones, were clean and we enjoyed a relaxing soak. Above all, the food was delicious and we were very satisfied. However, there were many stairs to the room, and I regret not checking the steps as my wife has leg issues. We enjoyed our time to the fullest.

It was our first trip with our 2-month-old baby.

Since it was our first trip with our 2-month-old baby, we chose this inn for its in-room dining and extensive baby amenities, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. First, the room was spacious and clean, allowing us to relax, and the private open-air bath in the room was fantastic. The meals were elaborate and thoughtfully prepared, with each dish being delicious and the portions just right. Although there were indeed many foreign staff members, their service was pleasant, and we had no issues, allowing us to enjoy our stay comfortably. The bathwater was not too hot, making it gentle and inviting, so much so that we wanted to stay in it forever. We were exhausted from the unfamiliarity of childcare and wanted to relieve our daily fatigue, so this was our first trip with our 2-month-old baby, and from start to finish, we had a truly wonderful time. Thank you very much. I especially recommend this inn for those traveling with small children!

    Blissful Time

I stayed for two nights in August. The exterior and interior of the inn, the staff's hospitality, and the meals were all wonderful and I was extremely satisfied. When I arrived at the inn, the staff greeted me with a bow. The staff's demeanor and language were also excellent. The room was well-designed with glass walls, allowing me to enjoy the lush nature from inside the room. The view from the private open-air bath was superb! The large public bath also had big windows, providing a great sense of openness!! The meals in the morning and evening were all elegant, with good seasoning and volume, and the staff explained each dish of the kaiseki cuisine carefully. I got the impression that they were very well-trained. There were free ice cream and drinks available in the facility, which quenched my thirst after a bath. If I had to mention something, it would be that if the shower room and washroom were a bit more separated, the washroom might not get as wet. If you come to Yugawara, I highly recommend this inn!!

Son's First Hot Spring Experience and 100-Day Celebration

We used this opportunity to celebrate our son's first hot spring experience, his 100-day milestone, and as a reward for our daily parenting efforts. Ashikari is a "Welcome Baby" inn certified by Miki House, offering various baby-friendly perks, making it an extremely attractive and reassuring place to stay! From the moment we were picked up at the station, the staff's smiles and courteous service filled us with excitement. Upon arriving at the inn, we were warmly welcomed by many staff members. Our spacious room included in-room dining, bottle cleaning and sterilization services, a diaper bin, baby wipes, and baby soap. Although we didn't use them, there were also children's toothbrushes and yukatas available! During our stay, the staff, accustomed to children, provided gentle and attentive service, which gave us peace of mind. As a kaiseki ryokan, the meals for both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally wonderful, and we were able to enjoy them at our own pace while attending to our child in the room. Usually, we are too busy with parenting to relax, but we had a truly wonderful time. Thank you very much. We definitely want to stay again!

    It was excellent.

The room was very clean, and the food was incredibly delicious. It seems that the open-air bath has a remote control to extend the roof, so you can enjoy it without worrying about the weather. The staff at the inn were extremely courteous throughout our stay, making it a very comfortable and wonderful trip. I definitely want to go again!

I stayed here for the first time.

In Yugawara, I finally managed to visit a ryokan that I had been curious about for a long time. The food was simply wonderful. I'm not sure how it would be for younger people, but the flavor of the dashi was excellent, with a light taste that really brought out the quality of the ingredients. The sashimi was also fresh, and you could tell that it was prepared with great care. We stayed in a spacious room called Sagamiji. The windows were large, providing a sense of openness, but since we visited in midsummer, the sunlight was very intense. There were three air conditioners, but because the room was large and the ceiling was high, I thought it would have been nice to have a fan. The open-air bath in the room was a bit on the hot side. Since it was summer, it was too hot to get in right away without diluting it with water. The service during check-in and check-out was also very good. I would like to stay at this ryokan again in a different season next time.

We used the Welcome Baby room.

We used this accommodation for our first family trip. We chose the "Welcome Baby" room, and it was a spacious and very comfortable space. Our child was at the crawling stage, but there were no dangerous steps or areas in the room, allowing our child to move around freely. We were able to have all our meals in the room, which allowed us to enjoy them at a leisurely pace. There was a kids' menu for our child's meals, and we were impressed by the wide range of options, from no seasoning to seasoned dishes. The service of washing bottles and other items was also extremely helpful. We were very soothed by the warm-hearted service of the staff and the excellent space. We would definitely like to use it again.

    Located in a less to...

Located in a less touristy area compared to Hakone and Atami, this inn offers a quiet stay. With a limited number of rooms, it was nice to rarely encounter other guests in the large communal bath. The staff provided excellent service from the shuttle between the station and the inn, guiding us to our room, and attending to us in the dining area, allowing us to feel at ease throughout our stay. The amenities and beverages provided in the guest rooms were plentiful, and the ability to borrow bath towels on-site when visiting the large communal bath was a highly rated point, allowing us to go empty-handed. The only slight concern was that insects inevitably entered the guest rooms and the large communal bath at night, but this might be unavoidable due to the location. It is perfect for a secluded stay, and I would definitely like to visit again with my family.

Room meals with children are highly recommended!

We were looking for a place where a large group (6 adults + 2 children) could stay in one room and have meals served in the room, and we found this inn. We were very satisfied as it was a very nice place! I was a bit worried that the 80m2 room might be a bit cramped for this number of people, but since the layout had almost no partitions, it surprisingly didn't feel cramped even with this many people. It felt compactly laid out. The full-height glass opening might have contributed to the sense of openness. The garden right at the entrance was also lovely. In terms of service, the staff were very polite, kindly speaking to the children and serving meals. There are many foreign staff members, so it might be a bit surprising if you don't know this in advance. I was surprised at how fluent their business Japanese was. It felt like seeing a new style of ryokan. The children were very happy with the small slippers prepared for them. They were also delighted with the Yakult in the large bath, making it a very child-friendly inn in many ways. The food was delicious too. Surprisingly, the massage chair in the room was a big hit with the adults as it was easy to use.

    Overall, a wonderful accommodation.

I stayed in a room called "Kaguyama." I believe preferences and feelings vary from person to person, but I will honestly write about what I felt during this stay. I love to soak in hot springs repeatedly (at least more than 10 times!), so I was thrilled with the open-air bath attached to the room this time. First, the bathtub is spacious enough for two adults to fit comfortably! And, this is my personal preference, but since the bathtub is made of stone, it felt very clean. The water temperature was slightly high, but it was just right, allowing me to soak for as long as I wanted. Also, with just a press of a button on the bathtub, I could adjust the hot and cold water to my liking, making it stress-free. After the bath, wearing a bathrobe, sitting comfortably in an armchair, and dozing off while sipping the complimentary beer from the fridge was truly a blissful time! For dinner, not only traditional kaiseki cuisine was served, but also Western-style recipes were included in the menu, allowing me to enjoy a variety of flavors. However, I was a bit disappointed that there was no explanation for the wine pairing set I ordered. A simple explanation like "This wine is from this region and has this flavor, so we paired it with this dish" would give more credibility to the reason for offering a wine pairing set... Breakfast was abundant. The Saikyo-yaki fish was plump, juicy, and delicious. The dashimaki tamago felt more like "tamagoyaki" rather than "dashimaki." When entering the breakfast venue, there was no staff around, and I was left waiting (other guests experienced the same), so if they could improve the operation in that area, I think I could have checked out with a more pleasant impression. I wrote my subjective opinions in detail, but overall, it was a wonderful inn.

I stayed at "Awasetsu." The room was very spacious and wonderful. I am extremely satisfied. The food was delicious, and there is nothing to complain about this accommodation. Staying for just one night felt like a waste. Next time, I would like to enjoy a longer stay.
