    A Great Hotel in Japan

    We stayed here for a family trip. The service was excellent. We were happy that all three of us could comfortably use the beds in the triple room. The ridgeline of Higashiyama was also beautiful. The Facility is a bit dated, but it is well maintained, and the amenities are well stocked, so we felt comfortable and had no problems. Breakfast was delicious, both the buffet and the Japanese set meal. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    Great value for money, and the staff’s service was excellent.

    We stayed for one night and two days with three friends and had a very comfortable stay throughout. At check-in, when the trainee seemed a bit unsure about the card key, we felt the experienced staff member could have provided more support. It might be helpful to keep a closer eye on trainees’ work. That said, we were completely satisfied with everything, including the staff’s service and breakfast. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We would love to stay again.

    I was soothed by Nespresso.

    I had a very pleasant stay. Having Nespresso in the Room is greatly appreciated. I asked at the front desk about decaf capsules, but personally, if they were included in the in-Room set, I would have nothing more to ask for. I tend to feel cramped in Rooms under 20 m², but this Room was spacious, and I was able to relax comfortably. The bed was also a double size, so I slept well. I especially loved the body wash towel—it felt wonderful—so I asked at the front desk about it, but unfortunately it is not sold. Overall, I think this Hotel offers excellent value for money.

    I chose this hotel b...

    I chose this hotel because I like the Okura Nikko brand. While the Facility felt a bit dated, I was satisfied with the service, Room size, and location. It was also great that the amenities were well stocked.

    A Hotel I’d Like to Stay at Again

    We stayed here during a trip to Kyoto as a couple. All of the staff were very kind, and we felt it is a Hotel with excellent hospitality and an overall calm atmosphere. We would definitely like to stay here again.

    I love this Hotel! But…

    I had used this Hotel several times for meetings during my time living away from home and felt it was a great Hotel, so I also stayed here a few times on business trips. About six years ago, I stayed for around a week to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I liked it even more after that, so for this three-night trip to Kyoto and Osaka, I booked without hesitation. Once again, the stay enhanced our trip in many ways, and thanks to that I was able to spend my time here very comfortably. However, there was one disappointing point that I had not noticed before: this time, staff chatting among themselves stood out. At breakfast in the buffet area, I sat near the center seats and could hear staff at the entrance talking about things unrelated to work even from a distance. Around the front desk as well, I noticed several staff members engaged in casual conversation. This might not bother me at a Hotel I do not particularly like. But because this is a Hotel I want to make my regular choice in Kyoto, it was truly disappointing. Being friendly is different from being too relaxed. I will visit again believing this will be improved next time—because this remains a Hotel I really like.

    This is my go-to Accommodation for a special treat getaway.

    We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s retirement, and you were incredibly helpful even before our stay in arranging a bouquet. You listened to our requests with great care and arranged the bouquet exactly as we had hoped—thank you very much. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the 22nd anniversary, and I felt excited from the moment we arrived. The doorman was the same gentleman for both days, and even in the rain he helped arrange taxis with a smile throughout, which was truly appreciated. My mother was very happy as well. The Room amenities were excellent. I gave 4 stars because there was a small bit of cobweb on the light above the sink, but otherwise everything was very clean and we had a comfortable stay. Breakfast is always delicious every time we visit. The omelet option was plain only, but there were toppings such as tomatoes, basil, and cheese that you could add yourself. We would love to stay again in the near future.

    I stayed here a few years ago and was very satisfied with the comfort and convenient location, so I chose to stay again for this trip to Kyoto.     Japanese set breakfast, even tastier than a year ago.

    This is my eighth stay since last year. It’s a good Hotel for me. The location is convenient, and I like the atmosphere. I usually visit Kyoto for gourmet dining and stay one night. I enjoy dinner and lunch mainly at Japanese restaurants, including Michelin-listed places. The only weak point of this Hotel was the Japanese set breakfast in the morning. I don’t prefer buffets, so I choose the Japanese set meal; last year it was not available, but this year it feels improved to somewhere between acceptable and good in taste. However, the Japanese set breakfast at Okura Kyoto (in the same group), where I also stay occasionally, is good, so this Hotel still hasn’t caught up yet. Overall, Nikkō Princess suits me better than Okura, but if the Japanese set breakfast improves further, I won’t need to stay at Okura anymore. I’m looking forward to it.

    I will use it again.

    I visit Kyoto once or twice a year, but this was my first time staying here. The staff’s service and support were outstanding, and I had a very comfortable stay. Part of the suitcase I had sent by courier arrived damaged, but the staff kindly assisted me. Thanks to them, I was able to resolve things smoothly with the courier company’s local office afterward. Thank you very much. It was quiet, and the Room was spacious, so I could relax at ease. I had breakfast once and chose Sagano’s Japanese set meal. It was nice to enjoy a variety of small dishes in a calm atmosphere. I also appreciated the coffee after the meal. Kyoto has many new Hotels, including luxury ones, but this stay reminded me that hospitality is what matters most in the end. I will visit again.

    It was excellent, but I felt uncomfortable at the end.

    I had a wonderful trip and was able to book a very nice Hotel at a great price, but I had a very unpleasant experience at checkout. I was completely ignored and others were served ahead of me, and I couldn’t check out unless I spoke up first. I also informed the front desk about this.

    A Close-Knit Group of Three Friends

    The other day, three close friends—brought together through our children—went on a one-night trip to Kyoto. Above all, what we cared about most was the Hotel. Since it was our first time staying there, we were anxious until we arrived—wondering whether the Room would be clean, how the bath would be, and what the toilet would be like. However, once we entered the Room and checked everything one by one, it was clean in every respect, and we were able to relax with peace of mind. When we visit Kyoto again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto.

    Your usual Hotel

    I visit Kyoto three or four times a year, and I usually stay at Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto. While the property is a bit dated, the Rooms are spacious and comfortable, making it easy to relax. I also love how quickly the bathtub fills thanks to the strong water pressure. Above all, it’s in a great location—about a five-minute walk from Shijo Station. You can walk to Kawaramachi and Gion, and it’s also a convenient transportation hub for getting anywhere. Even when it rains, it’s easy to take a taxi to Kyoto Station. It feels like my regular go-to Hotel. I look forward to staying again in the future.

    I stayed here after visiting Nijo Castle (former imperial villa). This was my second stay, following last year. The Room was spacious, easy to use, and very clean. The amenities were plentiful and high quality, so I felt comfortable using them. The breakfast buffet was also excellent—the fresh vegetables were delicious, and I enjoyed the other dishes as well. I would have been even happier with a few more Japanese options, but since they are available at the Japanese restaurant, that may be asking too much. Thank you again for a wonderful time in Kyoto.

    Having a parking lot is appreciated.

    In Kyoto, many hotels do not have parking, so it was great to be able to park in the underground garage. Since we stayed on the top-floor Executive Floor, we also had a beautiful view of Kyoto Tower. The refrigerator was well stocked with drinks, which we enjoyed. We had an unexpected and surprising incident, but thank you for responding quickly even in the middle of the night. At checkout, I felt uneasy because there was no detailed explanation. There were plenty of amenities provided, but it was disappointing that they were loosely placed in a drawer and hard to find.

    I had plans to be tied up for two days during the hot summer, and I found a great deal with a 5:00 PM check-in and 10:00 AM check-out, so I made a Reservation. After sitting all day and coming back exhausted, I was able to relax quietly in a spacious Room that felt very comfortable for one person, and that alone made me glad I chose your Hotel. For breakfast, I usually go for the buffet, but since I had to leave early, I chose the Japanese set both days. On the second day, you changed the menu from the first day so it didn’t feel repetitive; everything was delicious and enjoyable at a relaxed pace. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. I’d like to come again next time for sightseeing. Thank you very much.

    Excellent service at the Hotel

    I felt this is a Hotel that truly pays attention to its guests and provides thoughtful service. When visiting Kyoto, it’s easy to focus on luxury international Hotels, but I was pleasantly surprised to find how wonderful even a Hotel that looks a bit old at first can be. The Room was also very nice.

    A wonderful Hotel with a stunning tower view

    Thank you for upgrading us to a tower-view Room. We were so impressed by the illuminated tower that we went to sleep without closing the curtains. We also truly appreciated the early check-in and how well prepared the Room was. The renovated facilities were beautiful, and the bathroom was very convenient to use—we were completely satisfied. As a Room perk, we were excited that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary. For dining, we were especially moved by how delicious the simmered vegetables at Sagano (Japanese restaurant) were. The sushi and chawanmushi were also excellent. The omelet at the breakfast buffet restaurant was average. Overall, the Hotel had a calm atmosphere, a great location, and was kept very clean, allowing us to relax throughout our stay. We would love to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    This Hotel is conveniently located and offers a comfortable, welcoming stay.

    It was my first stay in a while. I visit Kyoto fairly often, but many trips are day trips, and when I do stay overnight, I choose an Accommodation depending on where I’m going and the purpose of the trip. I’d been wanting to stay here again, but hadn’t had the chance recently. This time, I decided to choose a Hotel around Shijo where I could truly relax. The location is very convenient, yet the surroundings are pleasant and quiet. The Facilities and interior have a slightly nostalgic feel, but you can tell everything is carefully maintained. I was pleasantly surprised that the amenities and breakfast (1st-floor buffet) were more substantial than before. The spacious bathroom, having a chair in there as well, and having a door at the entrance to the bedroom all helped make it feel calm and comfortable. Also, the placement of the clock by the sink was perfect. The staff were naturally courteous without any unnecessary formality, creating an atmosphere that made it easy to relax. It reminded me what a great Hotel this is. I’d love to stay again if I have another opportunity.

    This was my first stay, and the Room was spacious. The bathroom also had a separate washing area, so I could relax. With breakfast included at this price, it was a great value, and all the Hotel staff were kind—I was very satisfied. I will definitely stay again.

    Room with a Spacious Bathroom and a Small TV

    The bathroom is spacious, and having a chair is convenient. There are also plenty of amenities, which is nice. However, the TV is quite small by today’s standards. In addition, it seemed like the Room hadn’t been used much recently, and I gradually became concerned about black mold around the bathtub seams and dust on the door louvers that caught my eye when sitting on the toilet.

    A Calm, Adults-Only Hotel

    I have stayed in Kyoto many times, and this is a wonderful Hotel. First of all, the service and the interior design are excellent, and the Room was spacious enough and very quiet. The bath area is generously sized with glass walls, and there is a high chair. It was so convenient that I found myself thinking I would buy one when I got back to Tokyo. The washing area was the largest I have ever seen, and the amenities such as shampoo were of very good quality. Although I had only used the in-room bath once before, I enjoyed it again in the morning before departure. For breakfast, you choose between Japanese or Western set meals, and they are served in different dining areas. This time I chose Japanese breakfast; it was a calm, classic Japanese menu and very delicious. The visitor price for breakfast is 3,800 yen, so I recommend booking a Plan that includes breakfast. I also found some favorite dishes here, and since it is close to Sanjo Street as well, I would definitely like to visit again.
