I booked a plan with dinner and breakfast included. We had Cantonese cuisine for dinner, which was delicious, and the service was excellent. Since I had informed them in advance that my companion was elderly, our room was close to the elevator, which was very helpful.

Everything was perfect! Clean and spotless, the Room was spacious, and the food was delicious! However, I was very disappointed that my luggage wasn’t unloaded for me on the shuttle bus to the station when I left. The final impression really matters.

In a class of its own in Kagoshima.
I stayed here during my first trip back home in a while, and I was very satisfied. I usually eat out, but this time I dined at the Hotel’s restaurant, which offered a wide variety of high-quality options, and I really enjoyed the meals. I plan to make this my regular Accommodation from now on.

Friendly staff, delicious cuisine, and an open-air bath with a wonderful sense of freedom.
My wife and I enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay. In terms of service, food, baths, shops, access, and price, it was the best we’ve experienced so far. If you’re staying in Kagoshima City, this is the only choice. Not only the front desk staff, but also the housekeeping team, the driver of the parking shuttle van, and even an employee we happened to ask for directions inside the building—everyone was kind and helpful. Their smiles left a strong impression. The entire property was kept neat and spotless down to every corner, and it felt like a comfortable place to work as well. On our first night we had French cuisine for dinner while enjoying views of Sakurajima and Kagoshima’s city lights—beautiful presentation and wonderful flavors. Because we rushed to the restaurant right after arriving, I was dressed too casually and regretted not dressing up more. There were many stylish young couples around us. On the second night we relaxed with Japanese cuisine for dinner—also excellent. Breakfast was buffet-style with lots of options. The sea bream chazuke and omelet prepared by the chef right in front of us were outstanding. My wife had curry and Kyushu ramen. After trying their original jam (which was delicious), I bought plenty at the on-site shop as souvenirs. Even though we went to breakfast twice, we still couldn’t try everything because we were full—I also wanted to try the cod roe pasta and chilled potage soup... The pot coffee was great too. The open-air bath with a view of Sakurajima felt incredibly refreshing. The women’s bath powder room is divided into private sections; according to my wife, that scores very highly. She usually doesn’t like public baths at all, but she went three times—twice in the evening and once early in the morning. We used several shops on-site as well (Satsuma Kiriko glassware, bakery bread shop, souvenir store). We bought sandwiches at the bakery for lunch—they were delicious too. At the souvenir shop I purchased a Kagoshima-limited single malt for myself; it had a better selection than outside souvenir stores. We used the shuttle bus connecting Kagoshima-Chuo Station and this Hotel to explore around town—we visited Tenmonkan, Terukuni Shrine, Tsurumaru Castle ruins (Kagoshima Castle site), and more. Later I realized how important it is that there’s a roof over part of the guest parking area. On our way home we visited Sengan-en; after parking outdoors for several hours there was volcanic ash from Sakurajima piled up everywhere turning everything gray—and we lost an hour getting a car wash afterward. It didn’t happen at Shiroyama Hotel (this Hotel), which surprised me. At checkout when I saw our total bill amounting due , I honestly thought “So affordable!” Also after returning home ,the souvenirs shipped to us arrived with extremely careful packaging ,which left another great impression .

A consistently reliable accommodation
We stayed for three nights this time. Whenever we visit Kagoshima, this Hotel is a must—we like it that much. The excellent service from the front desk and spa staff, the well-appointed Room, the panoramic view of Sakurajima filling the window, breakfast at Casablanca, and being able to enjoy free-flowing Onsen water in a private bath are all highlights. The Shuttle Service also runs frequently, so we don’t have to walk to the airport bus terminal, which is a real help in bad weather or on hot days. When sightseeing in Kagoshima Prefecture, we often use this Accommodation as our base. We consider it a reliable Accommodation where we can stay with peace of mind.

No matter how many times you visit, it’s always the best.
This is a Hotel in Kagoshima that I have visited many times. The view of Sakurajima from Shiroyama Hotel, the Onsen, and the food are all outstanding, and before long it makes me want to go back to Kagoshima again. Not only the Hotel staff, but also the Room cleaning staff are very polite, and the Shuttle Service bus drivers are kind and always smiling. I love being welcomed with a smile. This is what makes it a first-class Hotel. I will definitely return.

We were extremely satisfied!
This was our first stay as a couple. Dinner was Japanese cuisine—refined and beautifully presented. The silky Onsen left our skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. The Room was very clean, and even the towels felt pleasantly soft. With such high ratings, we had high expectations, but it exceeded them—we were truly satisfied. The view was also perfect with a Sakurajima panorama. Watching the sunrise over Sakurajima made us feel recharged and energized. One thing did concern us… While sleeping in complete darkness, when one of us used the toilet/shower room, a strong LED light leaked from the wall and flooded the entire Room. It was very disappointing. It was so bright that I pulled the futon over my head, but the light still came through and woke me up completely. It disrupted our sleep. I wish I had brought an eye mask. I think it would be fine for solo travelers, but it was unfortunate that such intense light affected the otherwise wonderful atmosphere. We would definitely like to stay again next time, so we would like to request a Room where no light leaks from around the bathroom wall.

A top-class Hotel in the whole country
Everyone says that when it comes to Kagoshima, Shiroyama Hotel is the place—and this was my first stay. Overall, I felt it is a truly outstanding Hotel, top-class even compared across the whole country, and I definitely want to stay again. The exterior feels a bit old, but the interior and the Room were very clean. The building is so large that I got lost at times, but whenever I seemed unsure, staff immediately approached me and asked if I was looking for something. There are many on-site options such as restaurants, cafés, and a convenience store; one of the restaurants is even recognized among Japan’s top 100. I chose a Sakurajima-view Room and was very satisfied—I could also enjoy views of Sakurajima from the front desk area and the open-air bath. The amenities were well stocked. For dinner we had French cuisine. The night view was beautiful, and the locally sourced dishes were delicious. The breakfast buffet offered great variety; even at a later time there was still plenty available, and everything tasted great. When passing housekeeping staff in the hallway, everyone stopped what they were doing, bowed, and greeted us with “Good morning,” which really made me feel this is a high-level Hotel. Parking is paid. It’s a little far away, but they provided Shuttle Service by dedicated vehicle to the parking area. They dropped us off near our parked car inside the multi-story garage after confirming where it was. It also seems many people use this Hotel for celebrations such as weddings or traditional baby celebrations. Hospitality was excellent throughout—there were many moments when it truly felt like a first-class Hotel. I would recommend it to friends as well. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful Hotel.
It truly lived up to its reputation as Kagoshima’s best Hotel. Thanks to the wonderful service from the staff, the delicious meals, and the Onsen, I was able to return home from Tokyo for the first time in a while and enjoy a lovely time with my mother. Birthday Trip
I stayed again in the Premium Twin Room with a Sakurajima view that I always use. The view and the atmosphere of the Room are truly wonderful. I think the breakfast buffet is the best I’ve ever had compared with any Hotel I’ve used so far. The teppanyaki and Chinese restaurants are also very delicious! However, at checkout, the cashier was very unpleasant and unhelpful, which suddenly ruined my mood at the end. It’s extremely disappointing because it’s such a good Hotel. I hope this will be improved.

An exceptional place in Kagoshima
For nearly 25 years, I have been in your care, and even as more attractive Accommodation options have appeared in Kagoshima, Shiroyama remains in a class of its own—its presence in Kagoshima is unchanged. Holding weddings, funerals, and events at Shiroyama, and staying at Shiroyama when visiting Kagoshima, feels like a point of pride and status for local residents (and people across the prefecture). You provided a truly special time in every respect.

Hotel with Views of Sakurajima
Not only was the view from the Room wonderful, but the shared baths were great as well—both the open-air bath and the indoor bath. (The indoor bath was quite hot, so it may be too much for children.) I also liked the relaxing space near the changing area where you can unwind while looking out at Sakurajima. There are various shops in the building, including a souvenir shop, a bakery, and a convenience store, so we never got bored.

Save on your stay with Kagoshima’s Summer Discount
Using the Summer Kagoshima Accommodation Discount, I was able to stay at an unbelievably reasonable rate. The Plan was No Meals Included, but I had dinner at “Shisui” and took my time enjoying the pairing with sake. Both the food and drinks were outstanding, and it was a truly luxurious experience. From the large public bath, Sakurajima happened to be erupting. Watching the rising plume of smoke and the slowly drifting clouds was incredibly soothing for both body and mind. Being able to enjoy scenery unique to Kagoshima is one of this Hotel’s special charms. With IKYU Diamond Member benefits, I also received a souvenir, an upgrade, and late check-out, which made it feel even more worthwhile—I was very satisfied. Also, I personally highly recommend the baguette from the bakery inside the building.

Back at Shiroyama, as always!
I stayed here for an Italian dinner gathering. The dinner was, of course, top-class and wonderful. They also upgraded my Room to a twin, which was spacious and comfortable. I usually take my time with a relaxing bath and breakfast before heading home, but this time I was busy and couldn’t do either, which was a shame. I’ll be back to stay again soon. A long-established, trusted Hotel
I’ve stayed here many times since my first visit. I think the open-air Onsen with a view of Sakurajima is among the best in Japan. Unfortunately this time, Sakurajima was hidden behind clouds throughout our stay. On the bus to the Hotel, the driver announced that passengers should keep quiet, but even though it was mostly Japanese guests, people were still speaking very loudly and it was noisy—so I actually appreciated that they clearly said so. Among the staff here, I feel the older employees provide especially wonderful service. This was my first time staying in a Sakurajima-view Room; although it’s an older Hotel, it has been nicely renovated and was comfortable. Depending on the Room location, you may need to change elevators, so I thought it would be ideal to stay in a Room closer to the Onsen.

Overall, it was good.
It was lively and busy with many families during the summer holidays. The Room was well cleaned, and we had a comfortable stay. It was very disappointing that the view of Sakurajima from the Room was partially obstructed. The staff member at check-in seemed inexperienced, so I regret not double-checking more carefully. Also, it was hard to understand how to get from the Room to each Facility. Having a FamilyMart on the 1st floor is convenient. In this season, I think everyone would really enjoy it if there were a pool.

Dinner Recommendations
When I stay at a Hotel, I usually book with breakfast or room only, but this time I booked a three-night stay with dinner and breakfast included. For lunch, I took the Hotel shuttle bus to a famous tonkatsu restaurant. For dinner at the Hotel, I ate at the Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants. It was still hot even in the evening and going out from the Hotel was tough, so being able to dine inside was the right choice. The food was even better than expected. The open-air bath also offered a great view of Sakurajima, which made me feel truly awed.

A lovely Room with a view of Sakurajima
Depending on the Room type, the Rooms with a view of Sakurajima were excellent. There are quite a few Room types without a Sakurajima view, but you can see it from the Onsen, so even if you can’t see it from your Room, you’ll likely still be very satisfied. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I’d like to stay here again.
Due to unexpected trouble, we arrived late. We contacted the Hotel as soon as we realized we might be delayed, and since it was a busy season, we were prepared for the possibility that our request might not be accommodated. We arrived earlier than expected but still missed dinner time. However, at check-in they carefully checked all of our Reservation details, and we were able to follow our planned schedule. We truly appreciated it. We later learned that this is a historic Hotel that even His Majesty the Emperor has visited. There was also a poster showing it ranked No. 1 among Onsen Accommodations, and we could really feel how proud the staff are of their work. Thank you very much.

The Room and the bath were excellent.
We stayed for one night as a couple. They kindly changed our Room, and we were very satisfied to be able to fully enjoy the view of Sakurajima both from the Room and from the open-air bath! Since we had the Executive Breakfast Plan, it was also great that we could enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the morning. Next time, we would like to have dinner at the Hotel as well and spend an even more relaxing stay than this time.

Kagoshima Trip
The popular open-air bath, the views, and the breakfast were all excellent. The explanation of the facilities at check-in was minimal, and it felt like we were expected to figure most things out ourselves. It was also disappointing that the Room sink drained poorly and clogged easily.

This is an excellent Hotel.
I stayed for one night on a Friday in July. All the Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, always greeting us with smiles, and if we seemed even slightly unsure, they kindly offered help—service was flawless. The Onsen changing area was spotless at all times thanks to constant cleaning by the staff, and the view of Sakurajima from the open-air bath was an unforgettable luxury. Breakfast was delicious across the board, and I learned that the Chiran tea jam I tried at the venue could be purchased inside the Hotel, so I bought several as souvenirs. I was a bit unsure where the parking lot was, and it was farther from the Hotel than expected, but they provide Shuttle Service between the Hotel and the parking area using a Hotel vehicle. Thanks to this Hotel, it truly became a wonderful trip. I’m completely satisfied.

I love Kagoshima. I booked a 2-night Multiple Night Stay because I wanted to soak in the Onsen while looking at Sakurajima. I also used Holt for the breakfast buffet and lunch, and there were so many delicious options—I wanted to try more, but I was too full, which was frustrating. Since I stayed multiple nights, I often saw the housekeeping staff, and everyone was wonderful. As expected of a long-established Hotel. I will stay again next time.

A Hotel with a long and proud history in Kagoshima
I received a souvenir from the Hotel, and the Room felt clean, which was nice. There was no Diamond Room upgrade, but it didn’t seem like it was offered in the first place. The body soap smells great. I’m thinking of ordering it online. The meals were delicious, especially the Chinese lunch course. The Onsen was also great. It’s helpful that you can get there by bus.
