I don’t know about the others, but for me this is the best Hotel in Fukuoka.

The staff are exceptionally professional and incredibly attentive. Once you experience this, if you’re staying in Fukuoka, you’ll end up choosing Okura. Breakfast was also packed with Fukuoka/Hakata specialties—another great touch. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    As expected of Okura quality

I stayed here for a short trip to Hakata. Usually, when I stay in cities like Osaka or Kyoto, I tend to choose a Business Hotel since I’m basically just there to sleep. However, with Business Hotel rates rising, this felt relatively good value, so this time I chose Okura. From the doorman’s welcome on arrival, it truly felt like Okura. Having my luggage carried up to my Room was of course expected as well. The Room does show a bit of age, but it was impeccably clean. The bathroom has an acrylic door rather than a standard shower curtain, so there’s no worry about the floor getting wet and it feels more hygienic. The water pressure was more than strong enough. I have lower back pain and often wake up sore after sleeping in hotel beds, but that wasn’t the case here—I slept very well. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options. I especially appreciated the Japanese selection with local Hakata dishes such as sesame mackerel and vinegared offal. Also, hotel buffet bread is often dry and not very good, but the bread here—both croissants and Danish pastries—was excellent. Overall, it was extremely comfortable and I had a very pleasant stay. Above all, it was wonderful to see how proud the staff are of their work. If I visit Hakata again, I would definitely stay here again.

    Warm, Reliable Hospitality

I had only known Hotel Okura Kobe, but since this was my first trip to Hakata, I chose Hotel Okura Fukuoka. The service and housekeeping were excellent, and access from the Shinkansen station was easy to understand and very convenient. As someone unfamiliar with the area, I truly appreciate the female staff member who kindly showed me on a map where to find delicious ramen and answered my questions with a smile. It immediately put me at ease, and I felt glad I made this Reservation. I couldn’t stop by the basement brewery due to time constraints, but a male staff member also kindly informed me that I could buy beer at the shop. Having stayed at inexpensive Business Hotels near stations before, I was reminded how valuable local tips and guidance gained through genuine conversation can be—and how they become part of your travel memories. To everyone at Hotel Okura Fukuoka, thank you for giving me such wonderful memories.

Most of the staff seemed quite young, but they greeted us with warm smiles and provided pleasant service. The room was spotless and well maintained, and the linens were very comfortable. It would be perfect if the bathroom and toilet were separate. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Fukuoka.

    The breakfast was delicious!

As expected from Okura. All the staff greeted us with warm smiles and provided truly pleasant service. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was very satisfying. I would love to stay at Okura again next time.

    A Relaxing Hotel

I stayed here to attend a theater performance. The Accommodation feels a bit old, but there are many staff members and they are very kind. It feels reassuring. Breakfast was delicious, with some Hakata-style options. I would like to stay again if I have the chance.

    The location is great.

The staff were very helpful. The in-room amenities were well stocked. Many Hotels these days provide amenities only at the front desk, so this was appreciated. However, the shower room door in the bathroom would not close properly, and water leaked outside, leaving everything soaked. I hope this can be improved.

Before you know it, a quarter of a century has passed.

It seems many new Hotels have opened, but when I come to Fukuoka, this is still my first choice. Easy access from the airport and a convenient location for getting anywhere. As you pass through Riverain and step into the lobby, a calm, reassuring atmosphere makes you feel at ease. This time was another short stay, but thanks to you I was able to spend it completely stress-free.

    Unfortunately.

With the Diamond benefits discontinued, late check-out is no longer available. I used to stay here regularly for my business trips to Hakata every other week, so this is very disappointing. I will be switching my regular stay to another nearby Hotel that offers late check-out. It’s a shame, because the meals and service are excellent.

A bit more maintenance and upkeep would be appreciated.

I stayed for three nights. I understand the rooms are old, but I would like to see better upkeep in the more noticeable areas—for example, a broken doorstop and dust buildup.

It had been a long time since my last stay. This time, I made a Reservation here because I was going to see a show at Hakataza and the location was very convenient. The only disappointing thing was that there was some trash left in the bathtub (something like a torn piece of a pouch, possibly from lotion). I’m sure the room is cleaned properly, but finding leftover trash is still unpleasant. Other than that, everything was excellent and I was able to relax comfortably. The amenities were well stocked even though many places have been scaling back recently, and the staff were especially wonderful—everyone’s service made my stay very pleasant. I didn’t have time to dine this time, but I’d definitely like to try it next time. I also bought a Yame tea pound cake as a souvenir and am looking forward to it. I will stay again.

    Hotel Okura Fukuoka

The hospitality was outstanding. Even though many well-known Hotels these days don’t bring luggage to your Room, Hotel Okura kindly carried ours all the way to the Room, which we truly appreciated. The bathroom was also very comfortable: instead of a shower curtain in the bathtub, there was a partition window, so the vanity area didn’t get soaked. In addition, being able to enjoy breakfast via room service was extremely convenient. When I visit Fukuoka again, I will definitely stay at Hotel Okura.

    We are very sorry.

My first stay in a while. I was told I’d been upgraded, so I entered the Room with high expectations—and was surprised. First, it was a bit small. On top of that, the toilet and bathroom were combined. These days? At Okura? As an upgrade? You don’t see this layout much anymore, but I let it go. When I tried to check tomorrow’s weather forecast on the TV, the remote wouldn’t respond at all. After asking room service to take a look, they replaced the remote batteries but nothing changed; they said it was likely an issue with the TV itself and offered to move me to another Room. But it was already around 10 p.m., and I had unpacked and finished bathing, so I didn’t feel like moving. I went to bed without a TV—again, unavoidable. At checkout there was a brief apology about the TV issue, so fine. But when I left through the front entrance pulling my suitcase and looked around for a trash bin to throw away a paper cup, an overweight man who seemed to be a doorman just watched me—no “thank you,” nothing. Since there was no choice, I asked him where the trash bin was; he silently held out his hand, so I handed it over. I also wanted to ask for directions to the station, but with that attitude I couldn’t bring myself to ask—and ended up wandering back and forth on unfamiliar streets (later I learned you can reach the station without going outside via the Hotel basement). This is not something that can be brushed off as “unavoidable.” So this is what Okura has become here. Extremely unpleasant. A return visit is Done—but regarding both the Room issues and the doorman’s attitude, I honestly feel a formal apology from the manager is warranted.

    Perfect service

I stay here about three times a year. Thank you as always. This time, our Room was a Superior Double. It’s more spacious than the Standard Room we usually book, and it has a two-seater sofa. In the bathroom, the bathtub is enclosed with a frosted-glass sliding door instead of a shower curtain. There is a rail along the edge of the tub, so it’s slightly higher to step over. Since many home bathtubs these days are lower, some guests may find this noticeable. Okura’s service is consistently excellent no matter when you stay. It can be summed up in one word: “comfortable.”

The best overall Hotel in Fukuoka—completely satisfied with everything! This was my second stay, and I will continue to stay at Hotel Okura Fukuoka on future business trips to Fukuoka.

A long-established Japanese Hotel with attentive service throughout

We stayed to celebrate my son’s career change. The spacious lobby was beautifully decorated, featuring objects of cherry trees in full bloom alongside marble columns. The celebratory message and thoughtful baked treats, the large bath, well-stocked amenities, and complimentary newspaper service were all hallmarks of a long-established Japanese Hotel. That sense of reassurance led to the ultimate relaxation.

A Japanese Hotel Known for Warm Hospitality

I usually stay at international chain Hotels, so it was a rare experience for me to stay at one of Japan’s long-established flagship Hotels. The natural hospitality built up over many years felt genuinely comforting, and I’d like to stay again. The Facility isn’t necessarily new, but the staff’s hospitality is excellent. Even when simply passing through the lobby, they always greet you pleasantly and respond with consistent courtesy. By the way, perhaps because many guests are affluent, I was surprised by the unusual experience of staff never mentioning money at all. Even when staying on a No Meals Included Plan, they smoothly guide you to breakfast, and you only find out the price when you receive the receipt—there was a distinct “different world” feel compared with other places. *This is pure surprise, not a complaint.* The upgraded Room came with SEKKISEI amenities, which were very high quality. One minor point: having frosted sliding doors instead of a shower curtain in the bathroom feels a bit old-fashioned. Also, I’d be happier if items like mizutaki hot pot and ramen at the breakfast buffet were just a little more delicious.

Terrible service at the front desk.

I stayed for two nights. Thank you for preparing what I requested in advance. On the first night, I went to the far-left counter to settle my bill early and purchase breakfast vouchers for the second day, but I was told twice, “Once you buy them, you can’t cancel even if you don’t eat—are you sure?” The way it was said felt very unpleasant. The staff member was a slim woman in her late 40s to 50s with a short bob haircut. When I showed my Harmonique Club card (I wasn’t sure how to use it and thought it might Earn Points), she asked, “Does this mean you want to use points?” I was caught off guard. I was shocked by how poor the service was.

As expected from Okura, the fridge was stocked with drinks, so I didn’t have to go out and buy any—great hospitality. For the price, though, it’s a bit disappointing that the toilet and bath are still combined.

    I had a comfortable and worry-free stay.

I arrived a little earlier than the Diamond member check-in time, but the staff assisted me right away and I was able to check in. They also carried my suitcase to my Room, which was very helpful. Perhaps because I was staying for university entrance exams, they arranged a top-floor Room for me, and I was able to focus on studying. I usually can’t sleep when the bed is different—even at luxury Hotels—but here I was able to sleep peacefully. The cakes at the first-floor patisserie were outstanding, and I enjoyed them in my Room. I’m glad I chose Hotel Okura Fukuoka for my stay during the university entrance exams.

    First-class Hotel

We stayed to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday and to attend a performance at Hakataza. The calm, refined atmosphere and hospitality were truly what you’d expect from Okura. From the upgraded Room, we enjoyed watching planes take off and land over Hakata Bay, and we also received a message card and a gift of baked sweets—my mother was delighted. The location is excellent: we took the bus from in front of Hakataza to see the Hakataza illuminations, walked through the Nakasu-Kawabata Shopping Arcade, and visited Kushida Shrine. Being able to return to the Hotel for breaks meant we could fulfill all of my mother’s wishes. For us at an age where we want to enjoy the Hotel itself, it was a very comfortable stay. We were also satisfied with the Diamond benefits. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    A Hotel Convenient for Theatergoing

I stayed here to attend a performance at Hakataza. As expected of the long-established Hotel Okura, I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere with excellent service. I also ordered breakfast via room service, which was very soothing. With Hakataza next door and Nakasu within walking distance, the location was very convenient. I will stay here again when I come for another performance.

The number one Hotel in Fukuoka.

I chose this accommodation because it is close to Hakataza and was recommended by a friend. As my friend mentioned, the service was excellent—from having my luggage carried to the room during check-in, the polite greetings from maintenance staff, the heartfelt service at the restaurant, to the well-equipped room with amenities like a humidifier and bath salts. The breakfast was also exceptional. It truly felt like staying at a first-class hotel, comparable to my experience at Imperial Hotel. (The only slight disappointment was that check-out felt more like a Business Hotel.) Despite Hakataza's popular performances being held during my stay, thanks to IKYU.com, I received an upgraded room and enjoyed a luxurious theater trip. From now on, I plan to make Okura my regular accommodation when visiting Fukuoka!

I always have a pleasant stay. I often use room service, and it would be great if orders could be placed directly through the QR code menu. It would also be nice to have a breakfast bread set (including items like toast, croissants, and butter rolls).

Thank you for your kind support.

This was our first time staying here, although we often use accommodations in Kobe when our son and his wife visit or for other family gatherings. We stayed here for a visit to Hakataza Theater, and the staff kindly provided clear and helpful advice on how to make the most of our limited time after the performance. Thanks to their assistance, we had a meaningful sightseeing experience in Hakata. Thank you very much!

    Unchanging Service

I have been staying here for the past few years. The subtle attentiveness and consistent service are truly appreciated. This is an accommodation I hope will remain unchanged in the future.
