I stayed for one night on March 29. I chose March because it was just before the spiny lobster fishing ban. This time I booked a luxurious spa Plan, so it was pricey, but it was absolutely worth the cost. The cuisine, spa, Onsen, Room Facilities, and service were all top-tier. As expected from HIRAMATSU, every dish was delicious. The dish made with the spiny lobster head felt a bit heavy for me, but everything else was perfect. The spiny lobster bisque at breakfast was outstanding. The bread and butter at both dinner and breakfast were also excellent. The spa was wonderful—comparable to the Mandarin Hotel’s spa. The Onsen and Room Facilities were also superb; there is nothing to complain about. Service from the manager, head chef, staff, and spa team was flawless. I’d like to return next year during abalone season. I recommend avoiding weekends at the end of March. That’s when F1 Japanese Grand Prix qualifying and the race are held at Suzuka, so Nagoya Station gets extremely crowded and nearby roads are heavily congested. On top of that, Ise Jingu Naiku Shrine was also packed due to a yokozuna dedication sumo event—but I consider it a good experience overall.

Revisited on December 12, 2025. As last year, we thoroughly enjoyed Matsuba crab. Since female crab is only available until the end of the year, we visited in December. We ordered an additional female crab and upgraded the dried fish at breakfast to nodoguro. This time, we also made a Reservation for a private Onsen bath to fully enjoy the Onsen. The private bath was excellent—if there’s availability, I highly recommend trying it. Our Room this time was Oborozuki, and the semi-open-air bath in the Room allows you to adjust the depth. This was very convenient: keep it shallow when getting in and out, and make it deeper when soaking. Lastly, it seems some guests found the executive chef’s performance a bit overbearing, but it didn’t bother me at all—perhaps because I’ve experienced much flashier performances overseas many times. We’d like to return again next year.

Although I often stay in Kirishima Onsen, this was my first time in Hitoyoshi Onsen, so I chose a relatively new Accommodation. It turned out to be the perfect choice, and on the way home my companion and I kept saying, “We’re glad we picked this place.” First of all, the Facility itself is new and very well cleaned, so check-in felt comfortable and pleasant. Next, the baths: both the indoor bath and open-air bath are stone-built with deep tubs; the water was pleasantly hot and gentle on the skin—truly a “beauty bath” quality—and I was very satisfied. Meals were served for both breakfast and dinner using local ingredients in thoughtful detail; everything was delicious in just the right portions. When visiting Kumamoto I had been hoping for basashi (horse sashimi), but it wasn’t included in this Plan; it was available to order separately, so I enjoyed it that way. What helped us most was assistance with making Reservations for lunch the next day and for activity facilities, as well as answering detailed questions. They kindly accommodated our requests—such as “I want to eat seasonal salt-grilled ayu” and “I’d like to try pottery on a wheel”—all with a smile. Thank you also for seeing us off even in light rain without opening an umbrella. The salt-grilled ayu at the restaurant you recommended was excellent, and we each made pottery pieces (a plate, a bowl, and a beer glass). After firing them in the kiln, they will be glazed in our requested colors that same day and then shipped to our home once finished—we’re looking forward to receiving them. I would love to visit again; however, there is one disappointing point: there is only one Room type available for stays of two or more people, so I would appreciate more options. I stayed with my daughter at this accommodation. I chose it after reading reviews about its delicious cuisine, and it exceeded my expectations. The steamed abalone and simmered golden eye snapper recommended by the hostess, as well as the sashimi and other dishes, were truly delicious and visually stunning. There are three baths available for private use, allowing us to relax at our own pace. I would definitely love to visit again!

I stayed here to watch the Gion Festival. It’s close to Kyoto Station, and even as a solo traveler, I was very comfortable. The Room was clean, just the right size, and well stocked with amenities. The bath area included a stone sauna, which I used. Since it’s rare to find a Hotel with a stone sauna, it was a great experience. Breakfast was also very delicious. In short, it was a very comfortable Hotel, and I would definitely like to stay here again. I’ll be happy to return on my next visit.

Every summer vacation, we stay at this seaside Hotel. The Rooms in the East Wing and the amenities are truly wonderful, and we always look forward to them. One small disappointment was that last year there was a bottle of water by the sink in the bathroom, but this time it wasn’t provided. Also, the staff’s service was excellent. In the morning, when my child and I were swimming in the sea, I’m not sure if it was a staff member or a volunteer, but someone was carefully picking up litter on the beach. It was wonderful. Thanks to that, there wasn’t any trash at all on the beach in front of the Hotel, and we could swim comfortably. We’ll be back again next year. We hope it will be even more upgraded—haha.

I look forward to staying at Pearl Star every summer. Thanks to the staff who provide Shuttle Service with a smile from check-in to check-out, I had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast is one of the highlights for me, and I like to get seated early and enjoy it at a relaxed pace. This is a Hotel I would love to stay at again and again.

We booked Hana no Sato with the Anniversary Plan for my boyfriend’s birthday trip. After we arrived, we were taking a photo of the Accommodation sign at the entrance when a staff member warmly greeted us and offered to take our picture. From there, everything—from check-in to being shown to our Room—was handled with such care and courtesy. We were already saying to each other how amazing the service was! The Room was fantastic, with a bed larger than a double and an incredible open-air bath. Dinner was the Nagi Wagyu kaiseki course, with steak, shabu-shabu, and many other dishes—so much food that we could barely finish it, and we were completely satisfied. During dinner, they placed a cake in our refrigerator for us, and the surprise was a huge success! (I requested it by email in advance; their reply was quick and very helpful.) At check-out as well, they kindly saw us off all the way to the exit. This was truly the best service we’ve ever experienced at any Accommodation—I honestly didn’t want to leave. The international staff also spoke excellent Japanese and were wonderful. We will definitely stay again! Thank you so much!!!

We stayed overnight to celebrate our grandchild’s birthday. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, and the bathroom—especially the shower curtain—was spotless, making our stay very comfortable. Breakfast lived up to its reputation, with a wide variety of dishes you don’t see at other hotels. They also used vegetables grown locally in Kobe, which was a big plus. And the juices—these days many places use machines, but not here. There were many drink options, and since I couldn’t resist, I tried small amounts of several kinds. There were also plenty of side dishes, and I ended up eating too much. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was wonderful as well, and we would love to stay here again.

I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was stylish and spotless, and all the staff were very friendly, so I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The amenities were well stocked, so I could stay without bringing anything. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety. The only thing I wished for was tomato juice. I also enjoyed watching planes take off and land from the rooftop terrace. I think the sky and Mt. Fuji would be even clearer from autumn through winter. It’s close to the station, so it’s a great option for early morning flights or late arrivals as well. Having a convenience store right nearby was also very handy. This is a Hotel I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a spa and sauna Room. The Hotel itself was very clean—perfect. I was surprised that the bedroom and the sauna/spa Room were separate, but since it’s a Hotel in central Tokyo, I understood that this setup is probably necessary to improve flexibility and occupancy. Because of the extreme heat, the cold bath water was lukewarm, but the staff kindly brought ice to my Room many times, which made my stay very comfortable. I had a truly pleasant stay. I’m very grateful. Of course, I will definitely return.

This was my 8th stay at the FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto—my absolute favorite in Kyoto, which I love so much. I was visiting Kyoto for a friend’s grand opening celebration, and at the perfect time I received a birthday coupon from the FAUCHON spa. So I decided, “Let’s treat myself to a special birthday FAUCHON hotel stay!” I planned it with excitement—booking the towel cake I’d seen on Instagram and in Reviews on IKYU.com for the first time, along with the spa’s pink bubble bath that had made me unbelievably happy before. It was my third time staying in an East Higashiyama-view FAUCHON Suite, but the sofa and table layout had changed. The moment I entered the room, I couldn’t help cheering at how adorable the towel cake was—I took tons of photos and enjoyed it to the fullest! The handwritten “Happy Birthday” message on my key card, and the illustrated birthday card placed with the towel cake, became precious keepsakes that I brought home as treasured memories. The cute hand-drawn illustrations on both the full-length mirror and bathroom mirror also made me feel endlessly happy every time I saw them. I’m truly glad I chose to spend my birthday hotel stay in a FAUCHON Suite! Since my Plan included lounge access, I spaced it out from my spa appointment and enjoyed an early dinner and drinks. Along with my favorite champagne and umeshu, after enjoying the Shigaraki-ware bathtub in my room once, I topped up fluids and sugar with cola and sweets before heading to the spa. Even for the pink bubble bath at the spa—which I had been looking forward to so much—they prepared another towel cake with a heart. After having my tired feet massaged, I returned straight to my bed in the room and instantly fell asleep—I was blissfully happy beyond words. The next morning, I woke naturally before 4:00 a.m., watched dawn during magic hour, wrote myself a birthday card using one of the room postcards (and mailed it at a postbox at the end of my trip), enjoyed tea and coffee, and savored that Higashiyama view from by-the-window table. The steamed breakfast served in bamboo steamers at restaurant breakfast, as well as a birthday message cake after checkout—and even iced tea brewed by Grandy Master—everything was delicious. It was simply amazing. After buying souvenirs, even tag message attached to tote bag when they stored luggage were adorable too. Until leaving The FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto at last , this is best lingering feeling remained; It was best-ever FAUCHON hotel stay of mine! Thank you so much for such an overwhelmingly happiness-filled time!

We stayed at Fugaku Gunjo as a couple during a summer holiday we were able to take at short notice. Away from the bustle of everyday life, we were able to spend unhurried time together in a quiet setting. Even though it was a short stay, it felt deeply fulfilling. Although we were blessed with clear weather on the day of our stay, the typical summer haze meant we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji clearly during the daytime. Then, around 6:00 the next morning, I happened to glance outside and there it was—Mt. Fuji standing out in crisp detail. Its powerful, beautiful summer presence—so different from its snow-capped 모습—left a lasting impression. Listening to cicadas, simply taking in the view and enjoying time doing nothing. Even moments when we would normally keep ourselves busy felt like a luxury here. It was an experience unique to Fugaku Gunjo, where only the sounds of nature blend into the stillness. The dining was also exceptional. The French kaiseki dinner showcased each ingredient with great care, and every course was a pleasure. Japanese and French elements came together naturally, creating refined dishes that remained enjoyable through to the end. Breakfast was equally memorable. The rice cooked in a traditional pot was truly delicious—we realized we had finished every last bite between us without even noticing. We also learned that some of their rice and vegetables are grown on their own farm, and we were impressed by how seriously this Accommodation values its ingredients from the very source. Not just presentation but attention to these details is what elevates the entire stay. What especially stayed with us this time was the hospitality of all staff members. From Shuttle Service to check-in and dining, everyone we met was friendly and welcoming with genuine smiles—and their sense of distance felt perfectly comfortable as well. Their warm hospitality never felt formal or scripted; it put us at ease again and again throughout our stay. Though it was only one night and two days, everything from arrival to departure felt consistently pleasant. Beyond the spectacular views, beautiful rooms, and wonderful food—from growing ingredients on their own farm to thoughtful attentiveness by staff—you can feel careful dedication throughout this Accommodation. Looking back on this trip, it feels less like “an Accommodation you stay at for sightseeing somewhere else,” and more like “a place you travel for in order to spend time here.” Next time, we’d love to visit in another season—and enjoy a trip where staying at Fugaku Gunjo itself is our main purpose once again as a couple.

This was my first stay, and every staff member I met in the Hotel offered truly wonderful greetings and service. The meals were delicious, the service was attentive, and being able to enjoy several types of wine at the wine server corner was a great Facility for wine lovers. These days, when staying at foreign-owned Hotels, services are often simplified; however, this Hotel feels like it carries on Japan’s heartfelt hospitality from a better era. Thanks to the staff’s excellent attentiveness and consistently comfortable service, it became a wonderfully relaxing trip. Thank you very much. I would love to visit again.

All Rooms are private and completely soundproof, and the location felt truly luxurious, with nothing but ocean as far as the eye could see from the open-air bath in the garden. Although it was cloudy, we could see a starry sky at night when we turned off the lights, and it was wonderful to relax in the bath while enjoying a pleasant breeze. The meals were especially delicious—particularly the dishes featuring dashi broth. We would love to visit again.

We stayed in Angel’s Ladder Type A. Just as the Reviews said, the Room, open-air bath, and indoor bath were all extremely satisfying. The meals were excellent—abalone, spiny lobster, and steak. The staff were also very attentive, and we had a very pleasant stay.

I visited for the first time in about a year, and as expected, many things had been improved. There was a new system related to cleaning, and even small touches—like having tissue paper in the washroom—made a difference. From the start, I loved this Hotel for its amenity buffet, separate bath and toilet, and the washbasin in the bathroom that makes it very convenient. The greetings from all staff members we passed in the building were also pleasant. In addition, after check-in, I asked at the front desk for extra towels, and they arranged to provide more every day throughout my stay. I was impressed by such thoughtful attention. Once again, it was a very satisfying stay!

The Room, the cuisine, and the garden were all wonderful, and we had an amazing time. The staff member in charge of our Room explained everything clearly and provided attentive, excellent service. Her lovely smile was truly comforting—thank you very much. We would definitely like to stay again.

I stayed for one night starting on Saturday after work. It was a truly satisfying stay in every way—hospitality, service, meals, Onsen, and baths—all of which helped me forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Since Arima Onsen is close to Kobe, I often visit for day trips, but this reminded me that if you have an Accommodation like this with nothing to complain about, staying overnight is definitely the better choice. The only drawback was that there were quite a few stairs, which I assume can’t be helped due to the location. Still, it’s an Accommodation I would absolutely like to return to.

The Hotel was also clean, calm, and relaxing—everything was wonderful. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and everything was delicious, and the valet parking service was excellent as well. Above all, we could truly feel the thoughtful hospitality from all of the staff, which made our stay extremely pleasant. We will definitely stay again next year!
