Wakasa Fugu Inn Shimojo

Dinner was a course featuring pufferfish and a boat platter, and we enjoyed plenty of pufferfish. The local sake was also delicious, and we ended up drinking more than planned.Breakfast was Japanese-style as well, with side dishes that paired nicely with white rice. The homemade pickled plums were tasty too.We stayed in a detached room, but the stairs were steep, so going up and down with a suitcase felt a bit unsafe.The bath was small, but very relaxing. The bath mat was quite slippery, which concerned me, but overall the place was clean and the staff were sincere and attentive. It was a wonderful guesthouse—I’d like to bring my father next time.

An Accommodation where you can enjoy Wakasa pufferfish. I was lucky to get a Reservation and stayed here. The tatami Room had just been renovated and there were no issues at all. I used the bath late, so I could relax. Since it’s a guesthouse, it’s different from a Hotel, but it was more than satisfying. I couldn’t finish the full pufferfish course, the sashimi boat platter, or the final rice porridge because I was too full, but they served the porridge again the next morning and I finished everything.\nThe hostess was also very friendly, which made my stay even better.\nI’d like to visit again.
