Considering the Review

I was looking forward to it, but first, the room door was like an old apartment door, and I couldn't really feel the "I've come to an Onsen!" atmosphere. Then, the washroom in the room. It was exactly like an apartment's. There was no "I've come to a Ryokan!" atmosphere here either. And the toilet. The toilet door was not a regular push-pull door but a folding closet-like door, and if you're not used to it, it makes a loud noise when you open it quickly. It was surprising. The Japanese-style room had a Ryokan feel and was lovely. There was a dead stink bug in the corner. I think it's inevitable since every Ryokan had them during this season. I didn't consider this a negative point. As for the food, both breakfast and dinner were not exciting and seemed to be aimed at the elderly. For us middle-aged couple, it was unsatisfactory in terms of content, not quantity. As for the crucial bath, the open-air bath water smelled like a school pool. Disinfectant...? It had a faint chlorine-like smell, which was very disappointing. If I were at a public bath, I wouldn't have thought much of it, but it was disappointing. Overall, I think this is a harsh opinion, but it was not a Ryokan I would want to repeat. I don't know the market price, but the day before, I went to Gero Onsen at about the same price, and I was very satisfied with the Onsen, the room, the food, and the service, so I ended up comparing them. I apologize for the harsh opinion, but I wanted to express my honest opinion.
