    The service was first-class.

    The service was truly outstanding. The staff’s timing when greeting us at check-in and check-out was excellent. We had a very pleasant stay.

    Insufficient cleaning

    I had previously stayed in a higher-grade Room and was very satisfied with both the Facility and breakfast, so I chose this place again with confidence. However, this time I was shocked by the lack of proper cleaning—for example, a half-finished plastic bottle left by the previous guest was still in the refrigerator, and the liquid soap appeared to have been diluted with a significant amount of water. The breakfast also seemed to reflect cost-cutting measures, such as fewer menu items, which was disappointing.

    Inconsistent Staff Service

    The front desk staff were very polite and helpful, but I felt uncomfortable with the service at the breakfast venue, so I rated it a 2. Some staff casually walked right in front of guests, and when I mentioned that the Onsen egg tasted bland, I was told “the dashi is already added” and was advised to use the soba dipping sauce from the buffet (it didn’t match at all). Also, when we finished our meal and were leaving, two staff members at the exit were chatting and didn’t even say a simple word such as “Have a nice day.” Overall, it was very unpleasant. The Facility is somewhat outdated, but everything was well cleaned and we were able to stay comfortably. Thank you very much.

    A truly thoughtful and wonderful Hotel

    Although the property feels a bit dated, the staff were attentive and kind, and I was very satisfied. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

    I was satisfied with the spacious Room.

    I stayed here to help with an exhibition held nearby. I used to stay at Hotel A every year, but the room rate there had gone up, so I started looking for another Hotel. When I saw this Hotel’s price after using Points, I ended up making a Reservation on the spot. After check-in, I was impressed by the excellent cloakroom and the spacious Room. Seeing the exterior of the indoor pool Facility from the window made me want to stay here privately next time. Including the front desk service, I was impressed that this is a first-class, long-established Hotel.

    It was a very meaningful time.

    We stayed at this Hotel at the end of August. Every year around this time, my family visits Makuhari, and we had always stayed at the same other Hotel. However, that Hotel’s rates have gone up and became comparable to Hotel New Otani Makuhari, so we decided to stay at the New Otani Makuhari we had long admired. On our way in from the parking lot, a staff member was already helping carry our luggage. As for the Room, I initially felt our usual Hotel might be larger, but my wife and daughter said “this one feels bigger.” It’s really just a difference between a long layout and a more square one, but with the thorough cleaning and overall comfort, it truly felt spacious to my family—and I also found it very comfortable. We made a Reservation with breakfast included and enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Everything was delicious with a great variety of options, and it had been a while since all of us felt so satisfied. The onigiri in particular were outstanding. I was genuinely moved watching them being made so carefully; when I received mine I couldn’t help saying, “That looks delicious!” The cheerful reply of “Thank you” alone made me feel like it was going to be a great day. It reminded me that this is exactly what makes Hotel New Otani special—and as expected, they were the best onigiri I’ve ever had. I honestly wanted to eat more onigiri, but seeing how diligently they were being prepared made me feel it might be rude to ask for several, so I only had one—and that is my only regret. My family even said things like “From now on, it’s always New Otani!” so we look forward to staying again. Just one thing: we were hoping for a view toward Messe/Marine Stadium side but ended up on the opposite side—so next time!

    I’ll definitely stay here again.

    A little away from the city center, it’s a relaxing neighborhood as long as there aren’t events like baseball games. I’ve stayed here occasionally for quite some time; while the property shows its age, it’s spacious and I really like it. This time the price was very reasonable, so I have no particular complaints. There was a minor incident on site, but it was handled promptly. After checkout, the staff member in charge waited for me and apologized again. This kind of courteous service is what I expect from a long-established Hotel.

    Noise

    It was very disappointing that the noise from the floor above and the neighboring Room was overwhelming. It sounded like constant loud banging—almost as if people were fighting—along with voices. Are the walls really that thin? The front desk staff increased patrols twice, but it didn’t improve. They kindly offered to change our Room, but it was already late, and we didn’t want to pack up and move, so we endured it. We had been looking forward to this stay, so it was extremely disappointing. I believe the staff did their best, but as guests we couldn’t understand why we had to put up with it or be the ones to move Rooms.

    The noise was shocking.

    Thank you for upgrading us on the day of our stay. The Room was spacious and bright, with an amazing view, and we were able to relax comfortably. The location was also excellent, with convenient access from the station. We had lunch at Taikan-en in the Hotel, and everything—taste, price, and service—was perfect. The only disappointment was that loud footsteps and the sound of items being dropped echoed intermittently over two days, making it difficult to rest at night. We contacted the front desk because it was so severe, but were told it was probably from guests on the floor above. We have never been bothered by noise from upstairs at a luxury Hotel of this level before, so we wondered if there might be a structural issue. If similar feedback has been received from other guests, it may be worth addressing.

    Excellent service

    I stayed one night at Hotel New Otani for the first time in a while, and once again I was impressed by their outstanding hospitality. From the doorman and bell staff to the dining attendants, everyone was truly professional. There was none of that “new staff” or “part-time” feel you sometimes find at other hotels—every team member delivered refined, high-end service, and I was very satisfied. Breakfast was also relaxed and elegant. Especially during the buffet, I admired how professionally the service staff managed the floor. Everything was truly delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    While the building and some in-room Facilities feel a bit dated, everything was fully functional and I had no inconvenience during my stay. However, the sofa in the room is quite worn in places, and I would be happy if it could be replaced soon. All of the staff were consistently pleasant from arrival to departure. Towels and other amenities were properly replenished every day, so I was able to stay comfortably. Overall, it was a Hotel where I could enjoy a very pleasant stay. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

    I stayed here while attending Summer Sonic Tokyo.

    I stayed here to attend Summer Sonic Tokyo. It’s very close to Makuhari Messe, which was extremely convenient, and it was useful for more than just staying overnight—especially for late-night stages and taking breaks during the event. The Facility feels a bit dated. To be honest, there were a few things that concerned me about the cleaning on the first day, but by the second night everything had been cleaned well and I was able to stay comfortably. The Hotel layout made it easy to get around, and shopping and dining nearby—such as at convenience stores—was also very convenient. It was a shame I didn’t have time to use the Hotel restaurant or pool, but I’d definitely like to stay here again when I attend Summer Sonic, and next time I’d like to make a Plan that lets me enjoy the Hotel as well. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    We received warm, hospitable service. Even though the staff were very busy during the Makuhari fireworks, they provided exceptionally courteous and attentive hospitality—thank you. Both the room and bathroom were spotless and very well maintained.

    Breakfast buffet

    This time, my 17-year-old daughter came along on my business trip, and we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel together! The breakfast buffet was delicious, and we were very satisfied. There was a great variety of dishes, and the omelet was especially fluffy—absolutely fantastic! Next time, I’d love to bring my wife as well!!

    For a conference business trip

    I stayed here on a business trip for a conference. When attending events at Makuhari Messe, it often comes down to two choices: Hotel New Otani or APA (because they’re simply very close to the venue). I chose this place for the reliable quality of Hotel New Otani. I’ll stay here again.

    I was very disappoin...

    I was very disappointed by the male staff member who answered when I called to make a Reservation for the lounge. He spoke in an overly casual manner and sounded unmotivated. I also saw similar comments in Reviews on another site, so it seems this has not changed for some time. The other staff were polite and pleasant, but that negative experience has stayed with me, which is why I gave this rating.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    I made a Reservation to attend a live concert by my favorite band at Makuhari Messe. It was very close to Makuhari Messe, which was a relief for my tired body after the show. I’ve been staying mostly at newer hotels lately, so I really appreciated the thoughtful service that only a long-established Hotel can offer. What made me happiest was the 12:00 checkout time! Since we were exhausted from the concert, we relaxed at the Hotel instead of sightseeing in Tokyo the next day. My daughter and I had two wonderful days and made great memories. Thank you very much.

    Ideal for attending a baseball game

    It was comfortable.

    I accidentally made a Reservation for a smoking Room, but you promptly upgraded me and prepared a different Room. It was a wonderful Room that exceeded the additional fee I paid. I was especially surprised by how huge the TV screen was. The view of the ocean and the Marines’ stadium from the window is still unforgettable. I’d love to stay again when I have the chance. Thank you to all the staff.

    About Our Hospitality and Service

    The Facility and overall atmosphere were wonderful, but the service unfortunately left me with some concerns. First, I asked about a late check-out just in case. A younger staff member responded flexibly, but a senior staff member told me, “We cannot accommodate this because we are fully booked. Thank you for your understanding,” in a rather formal, impersonal manner. I understand that late check-out may not be possible, but since I had chosen this long-established Hotel with high expectations, it was a bit disappointing. Also, when using the SATSUKI buffet, the staff member who guided us was quite intimidating in their manner, which surprised me. Aside from the service aspect, it was a good stay.

    Outstanding service

    I was drawn to this great-value Plan. The view and the Room were both wonderful. The bar and teppanyaki were especially delicious, and the service was consistently excellent, as expected from the Hotel. That day, there were many overseas guests, mainly from Europe and North America. At European Hotels, guests are often satisfied with cheese, cold meats, tasty flaky Danish pastries, and fresh (not frozen) fruit, so you may want to further expand your selection of seasonal fresh fruit.

    Back in Makuhari after a long time

    I had recognized New Otani as a long-established Hotel known for its warm hospitality. When we spoke to the staff, they responded very pleasantly. Unfortunately, the Hotel’s Facilities are quite outdated; those who want to stay in a retro Hotel will likely have a great experience, but I cannot really recommend it for a typical stay. ◯What concerned me: the scent throughout the building (a strong floral fragrance like women’s perfume), an odor in the bathroom, and water coming from the bathtub faucet that was sputtering and very noisy. ◯On the other hand, the good points were: a comfortable bed and the view from the large window. I don’t want to write negative things, but this is my honest impression.

    Hotel New Otani Makuhari

    I made a Reservation for a twin Room with breakfast. I was assigned a Moderate Twin Room. It was so spacious that it felt more than enough for two people, and I was very satisfied. I also enjoyed the buffet breakfast at Restaurant Satsuki. Overall, it was a very satisfying Hotel stay.

    I chose Hotel New Otani Makuhari because I wanted to see the ocean.

    I live in Tokyo. I’ve stayed several times at the Kioicho Oedo Room because I love the unbeatable breakfast... This time, for the first time personally, I chose Hotel New Otani Makuhari, and it was the right choice—I was able to relax and enjoy a calm stay. Although it was my first visit, thank you very much for accommodating so many of my requests. From the Hotel, it took me about 10 minutes on foot to reach Makuhari Beach, and I went for walks many times in the morning and evening. The seawater was decent too. All of the staff were Japanese, so I could spend my time very peacefully. It was wonderful. As for breakfast: some onigiri fillings were a bit limited, the nori wasn’t great, but I tried everything that felt “Chiba-like,” such as the chashu omelet, fried horse mackerel, and udon with a soft-boiled egg, to find what suited my taste. It may have seemed impolite, but you don’t know until you try. The drinks—including Chiba milk—were delicious, the salad was fresh, and the dressing was tasty as well. The rice porridge felt gentle on my body. You can enjoy breakfast while taking in the view and eat in a relaxed atmosphere. It has different charms from Kioicho, and if your purpose matches, I think Hotel New Otani Makuhari offers its own unique appeal. If I have another chance, I’d like to stay again at Hotel New Otani Makuhari.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    On the day, we went to watch a baseball game at ZOZO Marine Stadium. We arrived well before check-in time, so we went to the front desk to ask if they could store our luggage. They told us the Room was ready and kindly let us check in early. We really appreciated it. Thanks to that, it was easy to get ready, including changing into our uniforms. This is a Hotel we would love to stay at again!

    I stayed here for a weekend event at Makuhari Messe. I was happy that check-out is at 12:00, and it’s great that you can get there without getting wet even on rainy days. I’ll stay here again!

    Could you please clarify your request?

    Because there is a stadium nearby, it seems this Accommodation was used as lodging for professional baseball players. Right when we arrived, there was a line and the place was crowded; perhaps to manage the congestion, an area had been set up in front of the elevators and a crowd had gathered. Isn’t that the real problem? Can you even tell who is a guest and who is an outsider coming just to see the players? As expected, even when we wanted to take the elevator, we couldn’t—we were told to go toward where the crowd was. “No photos!” “Don’t talk to them!” Before saying that, how about not letting outsiders in at all? There are plenty of ways to do it, like checking room keys. Prevention matters more than simply banning things.

    The breakfast was delicious.

    I have stayed here several times. This time, I was troubled by a bad smell from the shower curtain in the Room bathroom. It looked clean and I didn’t notice it at first, but the odor started during my bath and then lingered until morning. I think the smell may come out when the curtain touches hot water. It still smelled when I used the bathroom in the morning, and my husband also said it “smelled like a bathroom.” At check-in, I was offered a paid upgrade to a renovated Room, but since we wouldn’t be spending much time in the Room, we declined. I understand that an older Room can’t be helped, but I think it would be better to replace the shower curtain with a new one. Other than that, the Room was cleaned thoroughly and it was good.
