The temple holds 64 national treasures and 720 important cultural properties and has historical ties with notable warlords such as Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Mouri Terumoto. Within the grounds of Miidera stands "Myogon-in," a structure with over 400 years of history that has recently served an essential role as a monk's quarters.
