Skilled in traditional ink-line marking, Heikichi was known locally as “Sumiya no Hei-san” (“Hei from the ink shop”). From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day.
