The private open-air bath in our Room had an ocean view, and we enjoyed it so much that we used it multiple times both at night and in the morning. Having a bath in the Room allowed us to relax without worrying about time, which was truly wonderful. The Room itself was spacious

The Facilities are new, and all the staff were lively and hardworking—it was wonderful. The meals felt so healthy that you’d feel better just by staying here, and even the tea in the lobby made me feel refreshed and detoxed. It was that kind of Ryokan. I deducted one star for the baths because I’m hoping to bring my elderly mother next time, but she has trouble walking, and I worry the stairs before entering the baths might be too difficult. Other than that, the Room was spacious, the food was delicious, and it was a great Accommodation.

I look forward to staying at Pearl Star every summer. Thanks to the staff who provide Shuttle Service with a smile from check-in to check-out, I always have a very pleasant stay. Breakfast is one of the highlights for me, and I like to get seated early and enjoy it at a relaxed pace. This is a Hotel I would love to stay at again and again.

The ocean view from the Room is wonderful, as are the views of Atami and the sea from the restaurant. The guest Room is spacious and airy, and the Onsen bath is large enough to stretch out in. Dinner was especially delicious, particularly the stone-grilled beef tenderloin steak. It was a very satisfying stay.

Four of us stayed here on a girls’ trip. We booked a guaranteed Mt. Fuji view Room and were thrilled to see such a beautiful Mt. Fuji! The Room had a nostalgic Showa-era feel, but it came with basic amenities and tea, and since we only stayed one night and didn’t spend much time in the Room, it was more than sufficient. The meals (with breakfast and dinner included) were delicious, and there was so much food we couldn’t finish it all even though we wanted to try more. In the morning, we could hear Japanese bush warblers singing, which felt wonderfully refreshing, and seeing majestic Mt. Fuji made it an unforgettable memory! If we have the chance, we’d love to visit again.

I don’t usually write Reviews like this, but it was so wonderful that I wanted to share. First, even the standard Room is spacious enough. Above all, the food was incredibly delicious. The rice was the best I’ve ever had—its sweetness, firmness, and stickiness were all perfect. I usually eat one bowl, but I ended up having three. There was a wide variety of dishes, and everything—from the sashimi to the Sangenton pork—was so good it left me impressed. Unfortunately it rained on the first day, but thanks to how great the Accommodation was, it still became an amazing trip. This is an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied with both the large public bath and the breakfast. The Room didn’t feel cramped at all, and I was able to relax comfortably. Walking around town was fun, but it was hotter than expected, so I ended up drenched in sweat and completely exhausted. After rinsing off in the large public bath, I really didn’t feel like going back out, so the complimentary late-night soba service was truly appreciated. (The half-size portion was perfect as a light supper after eating out.) At breakfast, I loved being able to enjoy small portions of local specialties, and it felt like a great value. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again.

My 88-year-old mother, my sister and I, my daughter, and my two grandchildren (six of us across four generations) stayed at Atami Korakuen Hotel for one night and two days. Although we were a group with a wide range of ages, everyone was comfortable, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The Shuttle Service bus from Atami Station to the Hotel was extremely helpful. Our Room was an 18-tatami Japanese-style room with large windows, so we could also enjoy the beautiful nighttime view of Atami town. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a great variety—from dishes my mother enjoys to kid-friendly options—so everyone could enjoy the meals together regardless of age. The freshly grilled dried horse mackerel was especially delicious. The large public bath was equipped with a baby bath and baby soap, so we felt at ease bathing even with our young grandchildren. We truly appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. When we asked the front desk to arrange a taxi for getting around, they responded quickly, which helped us a lot. This is a Hotel I can wholeheartedly recommend to families traveling with babies or elderly relatives. We would love to stay again as a family. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Having stayed at retreat Hotels all over the whole country, I found this Retreat Onko Chishin to be outstanding in every way. The Room, bath, meals and drinks, and hospitality all delivered a high level of satisfaction, making for a truly pleasant stay. This Hotel has been reborn through the renovation of an existing Hotel, and the quality of the renovation and overall atmosphere were excellent.

True to its name, the baths were excellent. The large public bath was spacious, and the open-air bath in the Room was a comfortable size, so we were able to fully enjoy the baths. The meals also offered a wide variety; we had rice with simmered golden eye snapper and left completely satisfied. The rice was especially delicious, and we ate more than we should have. We would love to stay again.

Because it was a three-day weekend right at the start of summer vacation, it ended up a little over our original budget—but we wanted to stay here so badly that we made the Reservation anyway. And once we actually stayed… it was worth every yen—no, even more than that. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location was even better than expected: right in front of us were white sand and a blue sea. There were quite a few families and international guests, but at night it was very quiet. You can head straight to the beach from the Hotel, and everything was thoughtfully prepared—dedicated beach sandals, a washing machine, towels, and more. I also really appreciated that when you take off your slippers there, you can place them neatly into a shoe box labeled with your Room name—something I found especially reassuring as someone who’s a bit particular about cleanliness. The Room was truly spacious, spotless, and very functional. Everything felt refined from corner to corner—the washbasin, furnishings, wall colors, decorations—all beautifully coordinated and calming. A small detail, but the loungewear fabric was very soft and had buttons so it stayed in place comfortably. The semi-open-air bath in the guest room had excellent water quality and temperature. Being able to soak slowly while looking out at the ocean—with no insects flying around—was pure bliss. We enjoyed our in-room meals while chatting pleasantly with our attendant; everything was delicious. The simmered whole kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially impressive—large and full of flavor—truly “this is Izu!” That said, personally I would have preferred beef as steak (even a small portion) rather than chilled shabu-shabu wrapped with vegetables. If many guests are older adults, it would be great if there were an option available even with an additional charge. Breakfast included many dishes as well—I ended up eating quite a lot first thing in the morning! Overall this Accommodation deserves high marks across the board; if I had to be strictly critical, dinner alone could have felt slightly more luxurious or surprising—something that makes you think “This is exceptional—I’ve never tasted anything like it.” Even so, it was such a wonderful Accommodation that I absolutely want to return again next year. We stayed here during a trip around the Izu Peninsula. This Accommodation has a nostalgic, retro Showa-era atmosphere, and we recommend booking a Room with an open-air bath. We were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen as many times as we liked.\n\nThe meals were excellent. Since the sea is nearby, we enjoyed delicious fish, spiny lobster, and steamed abalone. The drinks went down easily too, making it a memorable dinner. As someone over 60, I find buffet-style dining—having to go pick up dishes myself—a bit of a hassle, so I really appreciated being served at the table.\n\nIn addition to the bath in the Room, there are three private Onsen baths available for reservation, and we used them all. The spacious open-air bath is especially recommended.\n\nThe staff were kind and courteous as well—highly rated. If we have another chance to visit Nishi-Izu, we would like to stay here again.

My second stay, following last winter. Last time I came by car. After sightseeing at Owakudani and other spots, I followed the navigation system and didn’t really know where it was, but this time I used the mountain railway and was surprised to find it was very close to Sounzan Station. Even on the walk from the station, I felt welcomed by a pleasant breeze and birdsong, and arrived at the Accommodation in great spirits. The attendant who looked after us was the same as last year. Their cheerful manner and excellent timing in serving meals were unchanged. The Room and shared areas were just as spotless as before—not a speck of dust—making everything feel wonderfully refreshing. The open-air bath assigned to each Room is located a short distance away, and ours was excellent again this time. With cuckoos calling more beautifully around this season, I could truly relax in both sound and hot water. The meals were delicious as before: a soup with pike conger eel (hamo) and junsai; seasonal ingredients like Manganji peppers with superb seasoning; gourd “kaminari-boshi,” which I hadn’t tasted in ages; plus breakfast highlights such as the vegetable salad and dressing, perfectly grilled salted salmon (both seasoning and doneness), and fresh yuba served at just the right moment. An Accommodation I’d love to return to for its hospitality.

While Tokyo was experiencing relentless extreme heat every day, we thoroughly enjoyed the coolness of the highlands. Early in the morning, we could see Mt. Fuji from our Room. Perhaps because it is under the Tokyu Harvest brand, many guests were on the older side, and maybe by chance there were no inbound tour groups, so it was quiet and relaxing overall in both the restaurant and the baths. The front desk staff were also very friendly and pleasant, which we really appreciated. The Facility itself may not be new, but it has been renovated and felt clean, so there were no issues at all. Although it is located at an altitude of 700 m and takes a bit of time to reach from lower areas, we would definitely like to visit again.

I first stayed here in January 2026, and this was my second visit. This time I returned in the season of fresh greenery, and along the several dozen meters from the accommodation building to the separate Onsen building, white citrus blossoms were in full bloom. I was able to enjoy their sweet fragrance while soaking in the Onsen. It’s wonderful that each season brings new discoveries. The meals were consistently high quality, and I was satisfied with both the taste and portion size.

I had wanted to stay here for a long time. The Room was spacious and very clean, with a great view. The meals were delicious, and since the restaurant is large, even at the buffet there was no congestion when serving food, so we could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The Onsen was wonderful, the Shuttle Service was courteous, and all the staff were kind with excellent hospitality. It’s also great value for money, so we were very satisfied. We would like to make this our regular Accommodation in Atami. Thank you very much.

The meals are delicious and feel worth more than their price. Additionally, the staff's service is excellent. In particular, the female staff member who attended to us during dinner was attentive and thoughtful, making our dinner very pleasant. I am grateful for her service

Thank you for taking care of us during our glamping stay. We were satisfied with everything, including the Room, ingredients, and service. High-quality BBQ ingredients were also provided. There was no toilet in the Room, but the shared toilets were nearby, very clean, and not an issue at all. We could also see Mt. Fuji from the Room, and our whole family was very happy with our stay. We will definitely come again.
