I chose this Hotel for its ideal location to visit the Shiretoko Roadside Station and try grape shrimp. Considering sightseeing around the Shiretoko Peninsula, I don’t think there’s a better Hotel. They were very considerate at check-in, which was a big help. Dinner was served as a set meal, and the salmon roe rice bowl at the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. The Hotel has a sense of history, but the staff’s attentiveness and service were extremely satisfying. The Room was also kept very clean—there was nothing to complain about. After returning home, I realized I had left something behind. When I contacted the Hotel, they found it and sent it to me, which helped me so much. Even then, their response wasn’t unpleasant at all—they empathized with me and said they were glad it had been found, which left a great impression. I didn’t get to see any whales on this whale-watching trip, so when I come back for another try next time, I’d definitely like to stay here again.

Honestly, I didn’t have very high expectations before my stay, but it turned out to be extremely satisfying. First of all, the ocean view from the Room and the Onsen was wonderful, and I was able to watch a beautiful sunset in the evening. At night, instead of a pitch-black sea, I could see the distant lights of Aomori City, which created a very atmospheric scene. I was able to relax and unwind while quietly gazing out at the calm sea. The building was clean throughout, and my Room had been renovated and was very comfortable. The staff were also kind, which left a strong impression and made my stay truly pleasant. The Tsugaru shamisen show in particular exceeded my expectations—powerful performances that felt uniquely Aomori. For dinner, the pork shabu-shabu felt a little tough to me, but the dishes were thoughtfully prepared overall and offered satisfaction beyond the price. For just over 10,000 yen per person, being able to enjoy this view, the Onsen, the service, and the Tsugaru shamisen show is very appealing. It’s not a flashy luxury Ryokan-style place, but it’s a Hotel I would recommend for anyone who wants to spend quiet time while looking out at the sea. I’d love to visit again and be soothed by seasonal views from both the Onsen and my Room.

I made a Reservation to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday. Since the Room was not a suite, it felt moderately spacious and not especially luxurious, but the view was great, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The welcome chocolates were also delicious, and she was very happy. Thank you as well for accommodating our request to add a birthday plate at dinner.

The Room is spacious and comfortable.

Dinner features a full-course pufferfish meal. Breakfast includes freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot, thickly sliced grilled salmon, shaved bonito flakes (a rare treat these days), fluffy rolled omelet, large soft pickled plums, lightly pickled cucumber and daikon radish, and more—showcasing attention to both ingredients and hospitality.

We stayed here as a couple on a trip to Kochi. It was our first time, and what impressed us most was the food. Both dinner and breakfast are buffet-style, with Japanese dishes (including local specialties), Western, and Chinese options—all of excellent quality. Even my wife, who is very particular about food, was delighted. Drinks such as beer, sake (including various local brands), and spirits are also available with unlimited refills, so I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys a drink. We would love to stay again when we visit Kochi.

The bed was spacious, and it was a nice Room. The meals were buffet-style, and the shrimp tempura was excellent—you could tell the quality was high. I think this Hotel is a great choice for families who want to enjoy skiing. Strawberry picking at the roadside station is also fun.

We stayed here as a couple to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The Onsen was wonderful. Thank you for the complimentary champagne service at dinner.

We stayed with my grandparents and uncle to celebrate my grandparents’ 90th birthday. They were delighted to receive a pair of matching chopsticks as a gift. During the meal, my grandfather accidentally bumped his hand while serving one dish and spilled everything, causing trouble; we were very grateful that it was kindly prepared again. Most of the staff were non-Japanese except for the proprietress. At times we weren’t sure if we were fully understood, but everyone was very kind and we had a comfortable stay.

It’s not luxurious like a Resort Hotel, but it has everything you need (the towels were wonderfully fluffy!), and the Room was kept very clean. The shared kitchen has a filtered-water tap, plus a refrigerator, dishes, cookware, and basic seasonings. I also appreciated the free coffee machine and several kinds of tea. If requested, they will prepare a complimentary breakfast of toast, a boiled egg, and yogurt. The washing machine is free to use (the dryer is paid), and there is also space for drying laundry as well as clothespins for drying underwear indoors. If you ask in advance, they also provide a Shuttle Service to the nearest bus stop before 10:00 AM (check-out) and after 3:00 PM (check-in). It was the perfect Accommodation for a relaxed, flexible stay while keeping costs down!

Combined with the wonderful hospitality from the staff, it was so satisfying that I felt like I didn’t need to go out at all—this is exactly what a club lounge should be. Within walking distance of Tomari Port, this Accommodation is in an ideal location for those heading out to the Kerama Islands. The Room was spotless, and the front desk service was excellent—nothing to fault. Their efforts, such as complimentary drinks, are impressive, and having a pool is another big plus. Personally, I highly recommend it. It felt like there were many international guests and some lively visitors. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it may not suit those who prefer a quiet Accommodation.

This was my first stay at Dormy Inn, and I finally understood why my daughters always say, “This Hotel is great” whenever they use it on their trips. It goes without saying that it was quiet and the breakfast was delicious. What I personally loved most was the bottled water in the fridge—it was incredibly cold and felt amazing on my sweaty throat. Since it’s often left outside the fridge at other places, I was genuinely happy about that. There were also snacks provided, which helped satisfy a small hunger. Having a TV in the bathroom was a first for me, and watching a program while soaking in the bath was such a unique experience. The staff were all cheerful and efficient, which left a great impression. Thanks to this stay, I had a wonderful time in Matsue. As an aside, Dormy Inn’s character “Dormy Inko-chan” is adorable—it's rare to see a mascot with that kind of look (lol). Thank you for the sticker as well. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

The staff were kind and made our stay very comfortable. In particular, one of the international staff members in the dining area was incredibly warm and helpful. We traveled with children, and they seated guests with kids in a separate Room, so we could enjoy our meal without worrying about disturbing others. We made a Reservation for our toddler without meals, but they kindly prepared rice and furikake for us, which we really appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious, delicious, and more than enough—we were completely satisfied. The view from the Room was wonderful, and soaking in the bath while listening to the sound of the sea was truly relaxing. The beach is right outside, which made our child very happy. We would love to stay again.

From check-in until our car left the Ryokan, the staff naturally came outside to welcome and see us off. I think there are very few Ryokan or Hotels that do this. The preparation of the futon bedding and in-Room dining was pleasant, and it made for a wonderful stay. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were very satisfying. If I had one request, I would be happy if there were a bit more local vegetables—especially for guests in their 50s like us. This may be a matter of preference, but I felt the miso soup would have been even better if it were served a little hotter. Similarly, I would have preferred the water in the large public bath to be slightly hotter. What impressed me most was how thoroughly everything was cleaned. Even at expensive Hotels or Ryokan, you often notice dust in hidden areas or peeling wallpaper and small flaws here and there, but everything visible was very clean. Precisely because it isn’t brand-new, it felt especially comfortable. It was my first stay here, but I feel like I got great value. My only concern is that many of the staff seemed to be around my age or a bit older, so I hope this Ryokan will continue for many years and be passed on to the next generation so guests can keep enjoying it. The check-in service was excellent, and the Room was comfortable, so I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I would like to stay here again next time. From JR Bentencho Station, it felt a bit far when carrying a suitcase, so next time I plan to use the subway.
