I fell in love with Kushiro and this was my second stay. The Hotel is close to the sunset tour departure point, and its central location made it easy and convenient to get anywhere. Even with a small child, the Room was spacious and clean, and the Hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The front desk and breakfast venue staff were especially kind, making our trip truly pleasant.

I always stay at this hotel, but this time I used Yahoo Travel for the Reservation as it was cheaper. Usually, I stay in a twin Room for two people, but since it was fully booked, I chose a double Room instead. As a result, there were only two towels (four towels are provided in a twin Room), which made it slightly inconvenient to have to wash them after taking a bath. Other than that, there is a water dispenser in the lobby (please bring your own container), as well as rice cookers and frying pans available. The double Room has a single IH stove, while the twin Room has a double IH stove. There is also a bathroom dryer included. Additionally, supermarkets and convenience stores are nearby. You can feel just like you're at home here!

Within walking distance of Toguchi-no-Hama Beach on Irabu Island. The cove facing the Hotel was magical, with the water shifting between green and blue depending on the time of day. On the first floor there’s a supermarket (maybe?) that also sells bento boxes, so it’s easy to pick up lunch, and in the evening it gets lively with locals stopping by after work. What’s more, the dining place on the second floor has a tatami seating area, so we could drink, eat, and relax while enjoying an island dinner—and even if we got pleasantly tipsy, it was great knowing we could head straight back to our Room. The building is older and there’s no elevator, but everything feels clean overall—and above all, every staff member is cheerful and smiling! That really feels unique to this island. Oh—and the bath is not an Onsen; however, the unit bath is spacious and clean! Hotels in town are convenient too, but this is a place where you can spend quiet, relaxing time that you only get on a remote island. We’ll be back!!

A good accommodation for people to stay. However, for dogs, it lacked features such as a well-maintained dog run, beds at a height easy for pets to get on and off or with stairs/sofas, and exterior designs with pet illustrations. It fell short as an accommodation specialized for dogs.

The food was all delicious, especially the slow-roasted yamame, which I could enjoy from head to tail. I thought the bath had a strong chlorine smell, but given the current times, it can't be helped. I got used to it quickly and it didn't bother me anymore. I can recommend this inn.

This Accommodation seems to cater to divers, but I used it as a base for a motorcycle touring trip. My Room faced the mountains, but since it was a corner Room, I could see a bit of the ocean as well. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so if you don’t include dinner, you’ll need to buy food in advance. The Room has a kettle and a refrigerator, and it seems you can also use a microwave if you ask at the front desk. The large public bath is a little small—about five people is probably the limit—but it was very clean, perhaps recently renovated. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent—I loved being able to eat while looking out over the beach.

Check-in was easy, and we were able to relax with the family. The bath is a bit shallow, but it is sufficient. We would like to use it again.

A quiet port town accommodation located at the southern tip of Shimoshima, Amakusa. This time, I stayed with no meals included, but the location is known for its fresh seafood. There is also a famous sunset spot nearby where you might be lucky enough to see the sun setting over the horizon. The building shows its age, but features like the tiled bath give it a nostalgic charm. The staff were very kind and made my stay comfortable and pleasant.

Our family took a 1-night, 2-day trip to the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido with one main goal: to enjoy great seafood. Lately, rather than a luxury Ryokan with extensive facilities, we’ve been drawn to food-focused Ryokan that truly take their cuisine seriously—and for this trip, our only criterion was simply “we want to eat really delicious seafood.” In that sense, Oyado Shinsei exceeded our expectations. Dinner featured an overwhelming number of dishes and seafood—far more than we could finish. The boat platter was spectacular, with uni and ikura in small bowls, line-caught tuna, hoya (sea squirt), botan shrimp, and more. The flavor was clearly on another level from the sashimi we usually eat. Our whole family kept saying “This is delicious” again and again as we enjoyed it. We were so focused on eating at dinner that we didn’t take any photos, but there were also grilled fish caught that morning, fried items, a rockfish hot pot (soi nabe), and more—each dish genuinely tasty from start to finish without ever feeling repetitive. Breakfast was just as satisfying: a small bowl of uni, sashimi, simmered fish, local delicacies, handmade sesame tofu (goma-dofu), and miso soup made with freshly harvested wakame—everything paired perfectly with rice. The portions were generous, yet it was so good that we finished it all. (I’ve attached a photo of breakfast.) The Accommodation is kept very clean—from the Room to the shared sinks and toilets—making it comfortable throughout our stay. The cypress bath is compact but gentle on the skin and wonderfully warming (we were told it’s not an Onsen, but it was more than satisfying). The staff seemed to be mainly family-run; everyone was friendly and kind with thoughtful attention to detail. We felt comfortable the entire time—it’s an Accommodation that gives you a reassuring “back home” feeling. Given the quality of the meals offered here at this price point, I found it extremely reasonable. We stayed during Golden Week this time, but I’d love to return in another season to enjoy different flavors of Shakotan again.

I chose this place to fully enjoy the JIN6 sauna. The Room was spacious and comfortable, with a calm atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional storehouse. The view of the inlet from the Room was wonderful, and I stretched out on the daybed-like sofa by the window and enjoyed the long twilight. Since there is no dining option at this Accommodation, I made a dinner Reservation at a nearby Accommodation and enjoyed squid dishes, then had a seafood rice bowl at a local diner for breakfast. The sauna is available to guests for 1,000 yen anytime until 1:00 p.m. the next day, and because it’s such an enjoyable sauna, I was really glad I could use it many times. Now that I know it’s easier than expected to get here from Fukuoka Airport by bus or train, I’d love to visit again in another season.

The room had a nice atmosphere in a quiet location. It was raining on the day, so it was convenient that the room was located just above the parking area. The washing machine comes with detergent, and there is also a gas dryer. Dishes, dishwashing detergent, and amenities are provided. Please note that pajamas are not included, so you will need to bring your own.

The location and building were perfect! At night, we enjoyed the rooftop terrace jacuzzi while gazing at the star-filled sky—it was an unforgettable evening! We even saw shooting stars. We look forward to staying here again next year.

We stayed as a family of four, including a child who will turn 2 in a week and a 6-year-old (preschooler), with the main plan being to visit the Churaumi Aquarium on the second day. The location was easy to find thanks to clear signage. Since the parking lot is a bit far, we recommend checking in early, leaving your luggage in the room, and then heading out for activities. The room had two large beds, which was one of the reasons we chose this accommodation. The toilet and bathroom were separate, and it was helpful that you could take off your shoes before entering the room. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided. We rented extra towels for our children at an additional cost. The room was clean and comfortable; however, we had trouble with the shower as it didn’t provide consistent hot water despite operating the water heater switch in the room—it only lasted about 30 seconds at one temperature. Perhaps proper instructions would have helped resolve this issue? For families with long-haired children like ours, bringing your own hair dryer is recommended since the provided one has low airflow strength. Unfortunately, it was cloudy during our stay; otherwise, I believe we could have enjoyed beautiful ocean views from the balcony. The next morning we received bread for breakfast along with portions for our kids as well! However, note that their orange juice has a fizzy or tangy taste more suited for adults. Another reason we chose this accommodation is its excellent location—very close to Churaumi Aquarium! We arrived right when it opened and enjoyed watching whale sharks peacefully from in front of their large tank during quieter morning hours. Overall, considering its proximity to attractions and staying within budget limits made this stay very satisfying—thank you so much!

The owner is a woman, and many of the staff are women as well, so female guests can feel at ease. The breakfast and dinner prices at arrival were different from what they were at the time of Reservation, so it seems the rates had been raised without notice. The futon bedding is quite simple, so opinions may vary. Google Reviews can be a bit harsh, but the Accommodation staff were kind, everything was kept very clean, and it felt like staying at a cozy countryside guesthouse—overall comfortable enough. There were guests from many countries, but everyone was quiet and well-mannered. You can’t see the sea from the Accommodation, but Aharen Beach is only a 2–3 minute walk away.

Dinner was an all-you-can-eat sukiyaki, and I was amazed by the incredibly tender and delicious meat. Breakfast included a variety of side dishes that went perfectly with unlimited rice, plus grilled meat in the morning! However, the site did not mention that dinner would include crab and sashimi platters or that breakfast offered unlimited shirasu (whitebait) and eggs. Even considering those points, the meals were absolutely fantastic. Additionally, during both breakfast and dinner, there were 2L bottles of juice available for unlimited refills (hot coffee and tea were also provided). Of course, the bath was amazing too. Unlike some reviews mentioning private baths being too hot, it was at a perfect temperature where you could comfortably soak for 30 minutes!
