The meals were full of surprises. The seafood selection was outstanding and incredibly delicious. Breakfast was particularly memorable as it included sushi, which was a first for me. It featured luxurious items like fatty tuna, sea urchin, scallops, and angel shrimp—exceptional for a morning meal. The simmered tuna head was also delightful. The baths were all private with no time limits, allowing us to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. This is an Onsen accommodation worth revisiting!

I made a Reservation for a meal course that included a boat-style sashimi platter. When I mentioned at check-in that I planned to try every bath, the front desk staff advised me not to overdo it because I might feel unwell from soaking too much. They were right—I’m glad I didn’t try them all. There were that many baths. For this price, the combination of the meal and the baths was excellent.

We were very satisfied with both the meals and the Onsen. What impressed us most was the hospitality of the staff. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We arrived early and waited in the car, but despite the rain, we were warmly greeted with an umbrella and escorted into the Hotel. The welcome drinks, including matcha beer and panna cotta, were delightful. On top of that, the food was exceptional. The aged meats were absolutely mouthwatering. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends. Everything was perfect. We look forward to visiting again!

It was a wonderful Ryokan with a rich sense of history and charm. Everything was well explained and carefully maintained, and the private Onsen was excellent. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

This was my second visit to Kamiyamada Onsen, and this time I was able to relax while reminiscing about my previous stay around 10 years ago. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and thanks to the rotation of the large public baths, we were able to fully enjoy both. The sulfur Onsen felt light and gentle on the skin. The meals were delicious with seasonal ingredients, and the tableware was lovely as well. It is a traditional, charming place that makes me want to visit again.

We stayed in a cottage this time. Although it is a bit old, it is kept very clean. It rained on the day we checked out, but there is a roofed walkway so you can reach the front desk without getting wet. Both Onsen were wonderful, and we would love to visit again.

The building is old, but the interior was kept clean and well maintained. The staff were kind and helpful. The food was delicious, and the Onsen left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth—it was excellent. I would like to stay here again.

I had previously visited for a day trip to the Onsen and loved both the Onsen and the scenery, so I decided to stay overnight. The meals were excellent, the view from the Room was wonderful, and my stay was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the outdoor bath in the morning was so cold that it hardly felt like an Onsen.\n\nAs it is currently off-season, there was no shuttle bus on weekdays, which made things difficult. Even one round-trip Shuttle Service would be very helpful.

It was my first stay, and it was quiet and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, and I was completely full. The large public bath had a wonderful atmosphere, and I was very satisfied. I also thoroughly enjoyed the in-Room bath and was very satisfied. The proprietress and all the staff were very kind, which I really appreciated. I heard that the dining area will be changed from floor seating to tables in the future. I would definitely like to stay again.

The hot spring water quality was excellent, and since bathing is limited to up to five guests at a time, we were able to soak and relax at our own pace. The soothing sound of the river was very calming, and we could unwind while feeling close to nature.

Delicious meals and a rich Moor Onsen—something you rarely come across. I’m worried about the major earthquake after returning home. I’ll visit again.

After about a 1.5-hour drive from the interchange, passing through Shiobara Onsen, you arrive at a quiet mountain Accommodation. The Room with an open-air bath features a 65-inch BRAVIA TV, Hida furniture, a Simmons bed, Dyson and T-fal appliances, and other top-class furnishings; the hospitality is excellent as well—coffee and Dolce are provided, and the refrigerator is stocked with All-Free and Aizu specialties. (Plenty of bath towels; high-quality yukata and samue are also available.) The Onsen in the open-air bath is free-flowing; although the water is clear and colorless, it left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. However, what was slightly disappointing was the very ordinary dinner. Despite being an Onsen in a mountain setting that takes time to reach, there were few mountain ingredients or local specialties, and it was hard to tell what this Accommodation’s signature dish was (I assume Fukushima beef is the main). For this season especially, having something distinctive—such as mushroom dishes like shishitake or even one item featuring Nango tomatoes—would have made a more memorable impression. With its good spring quality and environment, I think this Accommodation is recommended for those who want to relax and take it easy.

This was my first time visiting Yoshino. The cherry blossoms had not yet started to bloom, but we were shown to a Room with a wonderful view of the Ryokan’s courtyard. I can imagine how spectacular it must be when the blossoms are in full bloom. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were very delicious. The Onsen was just right, and I could enjoy it as many times as I liked without feeling unwell from the hot water.

My husband’s favorite Accommodation. This time, the three of us stayed here. As always, the plentiful meals and the Onsen were flawless. The Room has also been renovated and is very clean. If I had to mention one thing, I wish the bathing hours were a little longer. We go in about three times, but there isn’t quite enough time to relax at night. In the morning, we can soak at a leisurely pace, which we really appreciate. We will surely stay again. Thank you very much.

Although there is only one type of spring source—our favorite sulfur Onsen—we enjoyed how the water color differed between the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The open-air bath also offered beautiful fresh green maple leaves, and we would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. The meals were a satisfying amount for enjoying drinks, with seasonal items as well. The asparagus tempura in particular was outstanding. The building is old, but the Room had been renovated and was clean. From the Room, we enjoyed the garden flowers and fresh greenery.

Dinner was very satisfying, featuring unique and delicious creative dishes and other tasty items made with local ingredients such as Oita beef. The bath was also wonderful, with a great view from the open-air bath that felt very relaxing.

The Onsen with natural hot spring water flow is excellent. The staff's hospitality is also kind and attentive. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast as well. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a single room: an 8-tatami Japanese-style room with one bed, with plenty of space to spread out luggage or do stretches—great for hikers. In addition, there’s a table and chairs in the wooden-floored area, and a convenience store is a 5-minute walk away, so “No Meals Included” might be fine. (Ice, tableware, and a microwave are available at the Accommodation.) The bath is a silky “beauty” hot spring; alternating between the warm bath and the cold source spring quickly washes away fatigue. There’s also a sauna, so you can fully refresh both body and mind. Meals feel like an upscale set menu, and the miso soup and handmade soba were excellent. (When I stayed, the main dishes were sukiyaki-style hot pot and sashimi such as char.) They also have a wide selection of alcohol at pleasantly reasonable prices. Since extra orders such as alcohol are settled each time, checkout is as simple as dropping the key into the collection box—also convenient for hikers.

On the third day of my solo trip from Tokyo to Saga, I stayed at Shunkeiya in Takeo Onsen. It is located right next to the Romon Gate, and the building is very clean and beautiful. They prepared a 14-tatami corner Room for me even though I was traveling alone, and dinner served in the Room was wonderfully varied and absolutely delicious. The attendant assigned to my Room was also excellent, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was superb. Even though I was on my own, they provided Shuttle Service to the station—an Accommodation where everything was thoughtfully taken care of. I love traveling and have stayed in many places, but considering how reasonably priced it is, I was satisfied with everything here. If it were in the Kanto area, I could visit often—it's a shame it’s not. Next time, I would definitely like to come again with my wife. This first solo trip became a truly wonderful memory for me.
