The Room was very clean, and it was extremely comfortable with a Kirigamine air conditioner and an air purifier. Also, you can use the Onsen on the adjacent property as many times as you like by showing your Room key, so this Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen. The water is clear and leaves your skin feeling moisturized. Thank you very much for your hospitality during our stay.

A cozy accommodation with only 5 rooms, the room we stayed in featured a spacious indoor bath and an open-air bath with a view of the Kirishima mountain range. The onsen water, both in the indoor and open-air baths, was free-flowing and mixed with natural minerals, providing great satisfaction. The room was thoroughly cleaned and had a sense of cleanliness throughout. Meals were served in a Western style for both dinner and breakfast, so those who prefer Japanese cuisine might find it less satisfying. While there was an explanation of the dishes during serving, having a dinner menu would have been helpful. Breakfast included freshly baked homemade bread, which was delightful; however, it would have been even better if jams or similar accompaniments were provided. There were five types of bread per person—too much to finish—but they kindly wrapped them as souvenirs. Meals were served in private dining rooms where wearing loungewear from your room was acceptable. However, since the loungewear also doubled as sleepwear, it would be better to separate them into two sets. Especially during colder seasons, moving to the dining area in loungewear might feel chilly. Overall, this accommodation provided a highly satisfying experience!

I have stayed here more than 10 times since it opened. I’m happy that the Room has an Onsen. The large public bath is nice too, but being able to soak in my own private Onsen is the best. The meals seem to change over time, perhaps because the chef changes, but this time was the best so far. Breakfast had changed to something like a bento served in a basket. It used to have more items and more dishes, but I can’t eat that much in the morning anyway, so maybe this is what they settled on. This time I was glad to stay at a lower price thanks to the “Kagoshima Discount.” All of the staff are kind, and since there aren’t many Rooms, the whole Hotel feels relaxed and unhurried. Because the building is covered in hinoki wood, the Room has a pleasant fragrance that feels soothing and calming. I will stay again.

We found Kami Yuland while looking for a place that allows large dogs. We brought various supplies for our dog, but everything we needed was already provided. All you need to bring is food and treats—everything else is taken care of. It was our first trip with a dog, so we were a bit worried, but since it’s a cottage-style stay, we were able to relax. We took walks in the snow, and there were also marked courses for trekking in the surrounding mountains. We were told we could use the Onsen as many times as we liked during the available hours. Before entering the Onsen area, there were displays of pottery and paintings, and it seems you can also try hands-on activities. We arrived a little early, and when we entered the room, the air conditioner and heater had already been turned on—it was warm inside, and we were truly impressed by their thoughtfulness. Since this was a no-meals Plan, we bought food at a nearby supermarket and brought it in. Dishes and even pots are all provided. The staff were very pleasant and explained everything carefully. We definitely want to stay again next time. Thank you very much. Our dog is one Akita (25 kg). (Up to 3 dogs per cottage; total combined weight up to 30 kg.)

I recently stayed here with my parents. Since it’s my father’s hometown, we invited some relatives for dinner. Thanks to the thoughtful surprise by the hostess, the dinner became a lively and festive occasion. Thank you so much! The Onsen was popular among locals, giving it a warm and community-centered atmosphere. The Room was well-maintained and clean. It would be nice to have a refrigerator in the Room. Also, I felt that the sink area could be a bit more spacious for women—though it might be just right for men. Looking forward to staying here again!

We stayed here as a family. There are Rooms on the second floor as well, and each family member found their favorite spot and spent time in their own way. I wished the beds were a bit firmer, but the Onsen left our skin feeling smooth, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was amazing! Surrounded by the Onsen and nature, it was a place that brought smiles to our whole family. We’d love to stay again if we have the chance.

We stayed here for a family trip during the Obon holidays.\nIt felt like a private villa, and it was wonderful.\nHowever, it rained, so the barbecue didn’t really pick up.\nI think we would have enjoyed it even more if the weather had been better.

The building is undeniably old, but it was clean and well maintained. The staff were also very helpful. If the breakfast buffet had offered a few more options, it would have been perfect!

Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and we were very satisfied!! The baths are divided into a large public bath and a natural hot spring bath; both were very relaxing, and the kids loved them. We’d love to visit again if we have the chance!

This time, we used the Kagoshima Travel Discount and made a Reservation for a Room with a private bath. Since we already knew from our previous stay that the food would be excellent, we looked forward to the day with excitement. The bubbles in the in-room bath were far more impressive than expected—what a surprise. We were told it’s possible precisely because the tub is compact. The large public bath alone is satisfying, but if you want an even more memorable experience, I highly recommend reserving a Room with a private bath. The food was outstanding again this time, and we were truly satisfied. This is an Accommodation we’d like to save up for and visit again. It was my first visit to Shinwa-no-Yu in almost 10 years, and I was able to relax very comfortably (in the Hakodate dialect). The Accommodation was clean, and I was satisfied. I look forward to staying with you again.

I stayed with a friend's family. Despite having small and noisy children, the staff warmly welcomed us, which we greatly appreciated. The onsen was incredibly relaxing. The breakfast was also very delicious. We stayed in a large room for two groups, and it was spacious and fantastic. Having two restrooms in the room was also convenient. We had the pleasure of staying here for our first family trip with five members. When it seemed like we might not make it in time for check-in, the staff responded kindly when we contacted them. The reception staff were very friendly, and since we had mentioned in advance that we wanted to use a private bath, they kindly guided us to a slightly larger one! Although we didn’t order dinner in advance, we purchased meal tickets and enjoyed various dishes—all of which were delicious! Next time, I’d love to stay with meals included. The private bath made my skin feel smooth and left me feeling wonderfully warm. Personally, I’m a fan of apple vinegar drinks, so I was delighted by the vending machine offering single servings! There was an issue before check-out that caused some inconvenience on our part, but the staff handled it with great kindness. We were able to enjoy a truly comfortable stay ("azumashiku"). Thank you so much for everything—when visiting Iwate again, we'll definitely choose this place!

The meals were full of surprises. The seafood selection was outstanding and incredibly delicious. Breakfast was particularly memorable as it included sushi, which was a first for me. It featured luxurious items like fatty tuna, sea urchin, scallops, and angel shrimp—exceptional for a morning meal. The simmered tuna head was also delightful. The baths were all private with no time limits, allowing us to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. This is an Onsen accommodation worth revisiting!

The last time I visited Matsurube was right after the 2008 Iwate–Miyagi Nairiku Earthquake, which triggered a massive landslide and caused the collapse of the Matsurube Ohashi Bridge. This time, it was my first return in 20 years. While traces of the past remain, it has been reborn as a small yet elegant Accommodation. It takes only about 10–20 seconds on foot from the Room to the large public bath. With just seven guest rooms in total, once day-use bathers leave in the evening, the large public bath feels almost like a private bath reserved just for you—an incredibly luxurious setup. Passing through a lovely drink bar, we head to the restaurant. It is described as “French cuisine,” but even after looking over the menu, I couldn’t quite imagine what each dish would be like. When I think of French food, classics such as foie gras, truffles, and rich butter sauces come to mind—delicious, but sometimes heavy. So what kind of French cuisine would this be? I had high expectations. But what was served far exceeded them. Each plate features two or more main ingredients—and both are ingredients that evoke a sense of place, with different flavor profiles and textures. The moment they overlap on your palate, an exquisite marriage is born. Even more interesting is that one of those two leading ingredients is always a vegetable. Vegetables are not mere supporting players here; they stand proudly as true protagonists, creating an impression reminiscent of kaiseki cuisine as well. I found myself thinking: “Japanese-French” is indeed a perfect name for it. For wine, I chose a Côtes du Rhône white made with Grenache Blanc; its dry richness and fruitiness paired beautifully with the food. I’ve had my share of French cuisine both in Japan and abroad, but I may never have been moved quite like this before. It never felt heavy; instead, subtle hidden accents throughout created deep lingering finishes. It was truly outstanding. I’m told that when the seasons change, the menu will be completely renewed as well. That means I’ll have to come back again—one more thing to look forward to. One final request: As people who want to start with “a beer for now” as soon as we arrive at an Accommodation, we’d be even happier if getting access to beer were just a little easier. Please consider it.

I stayed on a Plan without dinner. The bath was great, and the value for money was excellent. Other Reviews mentioned there were a lot of insects, but even though my stay was in mid-July, I hardly saw any and it didn’t bother me. The staff also helped us with a smile. It was very good.

Delicious meals and a rich Moor Onsen—something you rarely come across. I’m worried about the major earthquake after returning home. I’ll visit again.

The location, Room, bath, and meals were all outstanding. The meals in particular were excellent. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again when traveling to the Kushiro area.

We stayed for three to four days from the holiday period into the weekdays. We informed them in advance about a food allergy, and they kindly accommodated us. They seem to be running the place with a small team, so they looked very busy, but all the staff were cheerful, kind, and served us with smiles. The private family bath in the annex for day-use visitors was a nice change of pace, but the slightly hot Onsen in the main building was wonderful. We would like to visit again if we have the chance.
