Koshi no Yado Takashimaya is an Accommodation designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property, with its main building making use of a shoya (village headman) residence from the Edo period. In this historic Japanese setting, enjoy a relaxing and soothing stay.Takashimaya’s highlight is its open-air bath with 100% free-flowing hot spring water, featuring the rare “Kuroyu” unique to Iwamuro Onsen.Kuroyu is not a typical moor hot spring; it combines sulfur, salt content, and high mineral concentration—an Onsen that is rare even across The whole country.This black water, created by the bonding of iron and sulfur, is a distinctive feature found only at Iwamuro Onsen.A must-try for true hot-spring lovers.

We renovated the Property in July 2022 with the themes of "Moon" and "Tuna," limited to 5 groups per day. In the full moon dining area with round windows that change with the twilight, enjoy the course meal of Japan's most delicious tuna, described as reaching its climax multiple times. Experience the extraordinary in the high-quality Yaizu Onsen and the simple yet sophisticated serene space, and we hope you take home many happy memories.

Our establishment, located in Kurokawa Onsen, stands gracefully by the stream amidst a tranquil landscape. Enjoy a relaxing stay while taking in the seasonal beauty of nature and the natural giant rock "Byobu Rock."

A Property with 15 rooms where you can fully enjoy the seafood of the San'in and Japan Sea. In winter, savor Matsuba crab; in summer, fresh squid; and in spring and autumn, Kasumi crab and premium fish like Nodoguro, all freshly caught at Kasumi Port in Hyogo Prefecture. The owner, being a broker, personally selects and purchases the seafood at auctions, ensuring exceptional freshness and quality. The Property was renovated in July 2021, introducing new Japanese-Western special rooms equipped with bedrooms and private baths, offering an extraordinary stay. Meals are served privately at individual table seating, and the open kitchen showcases freshly caught seafood of the day, which the chef prepares right in front of you upon special order. The large public bath features natural Kasumi Onsen (alkaline simple Onsen), with silver-lined mirrors and lighting creating a magical atmosphere to soothe your fatigue.

Yamato Ryokan, which began as a tofu shop, serves handmade firm tofu every day. In addition to tofu dishes, we also offer Kumamoto’s specialty horse meat, including lava-grilled horse tenderloin and soy-milk horse shabu-shabu.

Its presence recalls Basho’s teaching of “Fueki Ryuko”—that the unchanging and the ever-changing share the same source. Since receiving our charge from Gen’emon Araya, head steward of the hot spring under the Maeda family of the former Daishoji Domain in Kaga, we have carried forward—day by day in our work—the essence of what must remain unchanged and what should evolve. This is the spirit of hospitality our Accommodation hopes to nurture for generations to come.

Hana Kanzashi was created with the desire to convey Kyoto's wonderful history, traditions, and culture in a more casual manner, allowing you to stay as if you were a Kyoto resident living here for generations. The exterior of the Kyoto townhouse blends seamlessly with the cityscape of Kyoto, and the modern Japanese-style Room offers a relaxing space as if you were living here. This Property features unique nightly services provided by staff, offering guests memorable experiences. The two-room Japanese-style guest room with 10 tatami mats + 6 tatami mats provides a serene atmosphere, and the in-room open-air bath allows you to enjoy the natural air. Additionally, the separate male and female large baths offer views of the mountainous landscape. Meals are served at the guests' pace, using seasonal ingredients.
