It’s rare to enjoy this level of cuisine, hot springs, and service at this price, and the garden is also wonderful. The facilities are impeccably clean. It stands out even among Japan’s luxury ryokan.

Both the Room and the entire Accommodation were clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Onsen warmed us through to the core and helped relieve our travel fatigue. The meals were a delight both visually and in taste, and the steak in particular was outstanding. We had no contact with other guests, making it a quiet, relaxing space. Conversations with the staff were also pleasant, and we were very satisfied. We would love to visit again in a different season.

We were completely satisfied with both the Room and the meals. The meal for our dog was also a feast, making this a truly happy trip. We would definitely love to stay again.

The meals were excellent. We were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner in private dining rooms in a relaxed setting. All the staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. The room with a great view and the hot spring were wonderful, and it was also conveniently located as a base for sightseeing. When visiting Matsue or Izumo Taisha again, I would love to stay here again.

We stayed here for our second night. We were blessed with great weather—it was perfect. Since we arrived early, we visited Otaki Falls nearby, but the valley was deep and the elevation changes were intense, leaving us completely exhausted. (There were some fallen trees and rockfalls, so we had to take a detour.) This is a wonderful auberge, just as reputed. That day it was only our group, so we fully enjoyed the private bath, and the Room was lovely—we could relax and truly enjoy a cool summer getaway. Every dish was delicious, and the wine at dinner was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the peach dessert. The owners’ warm hospitality was exceptional—this has become an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again.

We arrived after climbing the slope of Mt. Daisen for a while in light rain and mist. Seeing the word “Church,” we hesitated for a moment, but when we opened the wooden lobby door, we found a charming space unified in an antique style—like stepping into a Kenji Miyazawa story. You can truly feel how much the owner couple and staff value and care for their guests. Once shown to our room, the fog gradually lifted, revealing beautiful views of Yonago’s cityscape in the distance, along with the Sea of Japan and Lake Nakaumi. The open-air bath on the terrace was pure luxury, soaking while taking in the spectacular scenery. Dinner was exceptional both in presentation and taste. We also enjoyed chatting with the dining staff, and the timing of each course was perfect. In this quiet natural setting, we spent blissful time that felt well beyond its price. A highly recommended Accommodation.

This was my second stay, following my visit in July. Perhaps because of that, the owner seemed more relaxed than last time, and I felt we were able to connect a little more. In my previous Review, I wrote things like how it didn’t feel like the cats were the type you could constantly pet, and that one of them seemed unhappy when we took photos. I got the impression the owner may have been a bit concerned about those comments. However, what I really meant was that this Accommodation is worth visiting not for the cats, but for the food—so if it came across as a negative Review, I truly apologize. This time, Candy looked very pleased when I petted her around her neck and chin, and Mew repeatedly showed off catching food in her mouth. I felt we became friendlier than last time. Cats are naturally moody—and just like people, there are times when they’re not in the mood. Since taste is subjective, it might be clearer for first-time guests if you highlight “cute cats” rather than focusing too much on the cuisine. Personally though, I think of this place as: amazing food first, plus the bonus of meeting adorable cats—so honestly, I would come even if there were no cats. This time I added breakfast as well. The homemade dressing was delicious; the miso soup had a rich dashi flavor; and overall—including dinner—you can really feel how much care goes into every dish. Dinner included some items from last time as well as some changes, so even repeat guests can enjoy it. I travel almost every month throughout The whole country and overseas (40 countries), so I can’t visit very often—but whenever I’m heading to the Izu area again, I’d love to return. Please keep running this Accommodation for as long as your energy and motivation allow.

The building itself has a sense of history, but the interior was very clean, and the room was impeccably maintained—excellent! Dinner was outstanding in both flavor and presentation. Breakfast was average. All staff were professional, and it was truly impressive to receive such pleasant service at a regional hotel in the best possible way. I stayed with my parents, and they were also very satisfied—it became a wonderful travel memory for us. Thank you!

My wife, daughter, and I stayed here together. First of all, the staff service was outstanding. From the team member who picked us up from the parking lot, to the one who escorted us to our room, to the person in charge of our meals—and even those we passed in the hallway—everyone had such warm smiles and made us feel truly welcome. The moment we entered our room, it felt impeccably clean (it even had an AirDog air purifier!). The large windows made it bright and open, the amenities were plentiful, and both the bed and futon were so comfortable that we slept soundly. The in-house guide on the provided iPad was also extremely convenient. We enjoyed our meals in a building with 100 years of history. Being able to dine in such a historic setting alone felt like a special experience. As for the food itself—I’m no gourmet—but it was simply delicious. You could really sense the chef’s attention to detail, and every dish was beautiful as well as enjoyable to eat. At breakfast there was even a small Nambu ironware teapot used as a chopstick rest; I ended up buying one along with chopsticks as souvenirs. The bath temperature was perfect for me and very relaxing. Finally—and what impressed me most—was how every single staff member seemed united in their focus on making guests happy. I’ve experienced great service at many places, but there’s usually variation from person to person. Here, that inconsistency was almost nonexistent; nothing felt scripted—just genuinely natural hospitality. I would absolutely love to stay again next time.

This is my favorite Accommodation: the well-maintained interior always helps me feel refreshed both body and mind in the Room’s open-air bath, and I can enjoy a French course dinner in casual attire. I will definitely stay again.

I decided to write a Review for the first time in almost a year. Everything was flawless, and it was an extremely comfortable stay. The handrails for the open-air bath in the Room were thoughtfully placed with careful attention to movement flow, so even with my mobility issues I was able to bathe safely without feeling anxious. In addition, the handrails were made of wood rather than cold metal, and I truly appreciated the consideration shown throughout for guests. Thank you very much for such a blissful time.

I’d heard that Hanaya Tokubei is a great place to stay if you’re visiting Dorogawa Onsen, and I was lucky enough to book the last available room. The atmosphere was wonderful, with a lounge where jazz plays and a veranda used to welcome yamabushi practitioners. There were four of us staying, and the room was spacious; the meals were delicious and just the right amount. All of the staff provided courteous service, making it a truly warm and welcoming inn. Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do. We sincerely wish you continued prosperity going forward.

We stayed with No Meals Included, but we were able to enjoy complimentary late-night ochazuke. The broth was rich and very delicious. There were three of us, and since the washing area for the private open-air bath was a separate shower booth, we ended up taking turns one by one. However, the Onsen itself and the mist shower were both very pleasant. Next time, we’d like to stay again with meals included!

The amenities and facilities were excellent, and we were very satisfied. Our dog was happy too (the room is long and narrow, so a small dog can even do a light run). They also provide insect-repellent measures (such as mosquito coils) and plenty of pet supplies (pee pads, diapers, body wipes, etc.), which made us feel at ease. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. Next time, we’d like to try the dinner plan. For bathing, you use the nearby attached facility (large public bath), but this time we used the in-room shower.\n The weather was cloudy to rainy, but we still enjoyed our stay.\n A walk to the nearby sandy beach is just right for a dog walk. If you’re not doing BBQ for dinner, there’s a 7-Eleven about a 6–7 minute walk away where you can get food and drinks.\n It seems delivery is also available—we noticed this at check-out.\n The room was kept clean, and any odors were hardly noticeable.

This was our first time staying here as a couple. We arrived using the navigation system, and headed toward the lights of the building on a small hill. The sunset was incredibly beautiful, and we were truly impressed by what a wonderful place it is. The meals were also delicious—both dinner and breakfast. The Room had a large bed, and we were able to relax comfortably. Thanks to you, our time in Nara became a wonderful memory, with both the Accommodation and the shrines and temples being outstanding. We had a very comfortable stay. The retro, traditional, and luxurious atmosphere is wonderful. It is quiet. The staff were kind and very helpful. The food in particular was high quality and delicious.

We were a little worried about the weather, but it was mostly cloudy, and even when it rained it was only a light drizzle, so we were able to enjoy the BBQ as well. The BBQ oven was set up just outside on the terrace under a roof, so we could use it with peace of mind. The Room was extremely clean, and all the amenities were stylish. There was also a washing machine, which was very convenient for doing laundry on site. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.
