This trip was mainly to visit Ise Grand Shrine, Toba, and Futamiura. I was especially looking forward to visiting Futami Okitama Shrine and seeing the Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks), so I searched for the Accommodation closest to the shrine and chose “Oishiya.” From the very beginning, I was impressed by the exceptionally courteous and pleasant service. From arriving by taxi through check-in, being shown to my Room, dining, and even the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, everything was handled in such a welcoming way that it made for a truly wonderful trip. To the proprietress, manager, attendants, Shuttle Service driver, and everyone at Oishiya, thank you very much. Dinner was a charcoal-grilled seafood kaiseki course. Starting with appetizers and sashimi, the main dishes featured an abundant selection including abalone, squid, turban shell, other shellfish, and vegetables. Being able to enjoy abalone both grilled and as sashimi made it an especially luxurious meal. The meal was so plentiful that I’m sorry I ended up leaving one dish unfinished. I also appreciate the attendant’s thoughtful consideration regarding dessert. The view of Futami’s sea from the panoramic bath was exceptional—I enjoyed it many times: before dinner, after dinner, and early in the morning. The location of this Accommodation is also perfect for accessing Futami Okitama Shrine. After check-in, after dinner, at sunrise time, and after check-out, I was able to visit a total of four times—it meant so much to me. Every view was wonderful, but the scenery at sunrise was truly unforgettable. Staying at “Oishiya” made this an outstanding trip. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Because my husband is from Nagaoka, we come from Tokyo to Niigata every year during the Obon season. Our usual routine is to go swimming at Kakudahama Beach first, then stay at Hotel Asuka. The made-to-order dinner buffet is delicious, and the food comes out quickly. The dishes you can pick up anytime are also great, so I always end up eating too much. Both the long-time staff and the newer team members are truly pleasant and welcoming—it makes me feel at home. This is my favorite hotel that I look forward to visiting every year. We’ll be back again next year, so thank you in advance.

Everything was always clean, and I had a very comfortable stay! All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. This time, I chose the “Tajima Beef Colorful Kaiseki” course! They carefully explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. I was able to fully enjoy Kinosaki at night.

It was my first time visiting Rebun Island. I arrived before check-in, but the staff stored my luggage at the port and even carried it to my Room. The view from the Room was amazing, and I was deeply moved by the beauty of Mt. Rishiri (Rishiri Fuji). The next day, I was able to rent a car, and they also kept my luggage until departure the following day. The meals were fresh and delicious, and the Onsen was wonderful. I also joined an early-morning guest tour and learned more about Rebun Island. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality—it made my stay truly comfortable.

I’m sorry for the late review, but thank you very much for providing such a wonderful night. The hot spring bath in the Room was incredibly soothing, and I ended up soaking in it many times. Above all, the Accommodation’s main highlight—the meal—far exceeded my expectations in both flavor and presentation, and I was truly satisfied. Not only was everything delicious, but it was the first time I’ve ever felt that eating could be this much fun. I was genuinely moved from the bottom of my heart. Partway through the meal, my chronic condition suddenly worsened and I had to excuse myself; thank you again for kindly bringing the final dessert to my Room—I would like to express my sincere gratitude here once more. This is an Accommodation I absolutely want to return to. I’m really looking forward to the day I can visit again.

True to its name as an auberge, the most outstanding part was, above all, the cuisine. The dishes created by a young chef in his twenties used local ingredients and were finished with techniques like careful cooking and fermentation that brought out each ingredient’s natural character. Each plate felt full of energy; the moment it touched my lips, deep, nourishing flavors overflowed. Everything was beautiful to look at as well, and my heart lifted every time a new dish arrived. Listening to the explanations of each course was also a pleasure. Conversation flowed naturally and effortlessly, and even though I stayed alone, I never felt lonely—I simply had a wonderful time. When I showed interest in the modern art throughout the property, I was delighted that the manager took the time to explain each piece one by one. I could sense the owner’s taste and philosophy behind the collection. Every work had its own character, including a Banksy lithograph. Rather than simply displaying art, it felt as though the owner’s aesthetic vision for what this Hotel should be was expressed throughout the entire space. The sea seen from the window was wonderfully calm; without rushing toward checkout time, I was able to relax at ease until departure. A Hotel stay filled with warm hospitality—I would love to return again.

I visited by car with my husband and son on our first family trip in a while. We were delighted by the elegant lobby and lounge, beautifully decorated with flowers and furnishings, and by the stunning view of the cove from the windows. The cave-style bath we had been looking forward to, as well as the panoramic bath, were wonderfully relaxing, with silky-smooth water as we enjoyed the scenery. For dinner, we had an exquisite kaiseki course in a private dining room. We chose sashimi made from locally caught fish of the day, and every dish was outstanding—beautifully presented with impressive table settings. We also enjoyed freshly grilled fugu prepared right in front of us, along with a sake tasting. After dinner, we played darts, enjoyed wine at the bar, and went back to the baths—making the most of our stay. Our Room also had a fantastic view, and we were able to truly unwind. This is an unforgettable Accommodation that I would love to visit again.

After the renovation, the Room was very clean and beautiful. The food was delicious, and the upgraded course had generous portions, so we were very satisfied. The rice from Fukui Prefecture is excellent. I usually eat only about half a bowl at breakfast, but I had a second serving. It was new-season rice and truly delicious. The lobby felt a bit warm. I also soaked in the bath for a long time and couldn’t stop sweating, and when heading back to the Room you have to pass through the lobby, which felt a little hot. It was very quiet and relaxing. Thank you for your hospitality.

At first, the parking area felt a bit scary. There are wheel stops, but if you come in with too much speed, it feels like you could end up in the river. There were three private baths, all a good size. If they were available, we could use them as much as we wanted, and one of the private baths even had a sauna. Amenities are the type you take what you need to your Room, and there was a wide variety. After bathing, they also had ice cream and black soybean tea available. Since it’s all-inclusive, drinks were set out on both the 1st and 2nd floors, which was convenient. On the 2nd floor where the Rooms are, there were two massage chairs that we could use freely. Dinner was a white squid course; it wasn’t live squid so it wasn’t at its sweetest, but there was still sweetness—and for two people it was more than enough quantity (half might have been plenty). We came for nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and we assumed one fish for two people, so we were surprised that each person got one. It was delicious. The Room was very clean, and the whole Ryokan smelled wonderful. Even though winter is crab season—and I expected everything to smell like crab—it felt very refined with a pleasant woody scent instead. There are no windows so don’t expect any views; however, the space with the sofa (with TV), bed, and washbasin area is very comfortable. The downside is that you can’t tell what the weather is like outside. But if you’re looking to enjoy an escape focused on eating and relaxing indoors, that may not be a bad thing. Breakfast was excellent across the board—the rice cooked in an earthenware pot was great, and so was the mirin-dried horse mackerel. On our way out we also tried grinding coffee with a stone mill for ourselves for once again enjoyed truly good coffee after a long time.

Everything was comfortable. The staff, lobby, meals, Room, and bath were all clean and relaxing. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, it would have been even better if there had been a dinner menu. At other places I’ve stayed, they compile the menus into a file for easy reference. The illustrated breakfast menu was great. I quickly framed it with my watermelon eraser stamp and displayed it in my living room. It looks wonderful in the frame.

Surrounded by delicious meals, a free-flowing natural hot spring bath, and adorable cats, I was able to spend a gentle, peaceful time. Thank you very much.

My spouse and I visited Wakasa for the first time from Tokyo. A hidden Accommodation quietly nestled in a very peaceful fishing village. From our Room, the beautiful Sea of Japan stretched out below us. Listening to the waves crashing against the rocks, we enjoyed a truly luxurious time watching the sun slowly sink into the endless horizon. The view from the bath was also outstanding. The meal was a kaiseki course featuring plenty of fresh local fish and vegetables, and we were left speechless by the rich flavors—something you could never experience in the city. We were able to fully enjoy everything Wakasa has to offer. We look forward to staying again.

The meals featured a variety of Japanese dishes centered on local seafood. Every dish was carefully prepared, and we enjoyed them very much. We stayed in a guest Room with an open-air bath. It was thoroughly cleaned and there was no smell of tobacco. The bathroom has a hinoki (cypress) bath with a pleasant aroma. There is also a door leading directly outside to the open-air bath. Outside the Room is a private garden with views of both the sea and the mountains. Although it was summer, there were no mosquitoes or other insects even at night. Because there are only a small number of guest Rooms, we were able to relax in a very calm atmosphere throughout the property. Notes: 1) Even some first-floor guest Rooms have about five steps. There are also about ten steps to reach the large public bath. Please keep this in mind if you have difficulty walking. 2) Regarding guest Rooms with an open-air bath: This will be explained by staff on the day, but the water temperature is very hot. Please check and adjust the temperature before undressing. 3) The private garden for each guest Room has a fence on the sea side, but part of it is not continuous. Beyond that point there is an approximately 3-meter slope down toward the sea. Please take extra care not to take your eyes off small children.

Thank you for your thoughtful emails even before our stay. On the day, our flight was suddenly canceled and we had to take the ferry, but you quickly adjusted the rental car arrangements. The food was cooked right in front of us, and both the taste and portions were excellent; the drinks were delicious too. The hot spring water quality was great, and we were able to truly relax in both body and mind. Everything was perfect!

Last summer, after renting a nearby vacation home and visiting Morito Beach, we discovered SCAPES THE SUITE. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the easy beach access and the property’s atmosphere, and we had been looking forward to our stay. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the sea with our family, including our two young daughters. We used the pick-up and drop-off service from Zushi Station, and being greeted by a classic Cedric taxi instantly set a resort mood. We arrived a little early and planned to wait in the lobby, but perhaps because of my IKYU Diamond membership, we were shown to our Room right away. It was the twin “Mandarin Orange.” It felt more spacious than expected, with the Shonan sea right in front of us and Enoshima clearly visible at all times. Due to the weather we only caught a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji for a moment, but having the ocean always in view was truly soothing. After the concierge kindly showed us around the Room, they helped arrange our one-hour private jacuzzi time (per Room) as well as breakfast time. We were worried about an approaching typhoon, but fortunately it took a course that didn’t affect us much—so we even enjoyed occasional sunshine. Our daughters’ family was able to swim several times, while we grandparents stayed in the Room caring for our 7-month-old grandchild. It was wonderfully relaxing. With children aged three and zero with us, we ate out for dinner; however, the Hotel restaurant also looked very appealing. This time we only had breakfast and lunch here, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. No matter where you look from within this property—the balcony or even from the jacuzzi—the view of the sea never gets old. That scenery itself felt like your greatest hospitality. We also strongly felt how much everyone working there loves Hayama—and loves this Hotel. The pride and care of both the concierge team and those serving at breakfast/the restaurant really came through. We were also delighted by your gift: Genbei’s famous beach sandals. You coordinated sizes and colors for each family member perfectly—our daughters’ family was thrilled. Finally, after receiving an outstanding carrot dressing as well, we headed home feeling refreshed. Not only in summer but in any season, SCAPES is a place where you can truly relax—and we would love to return again. Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel.

The Room and baths were spacious, and the amenities were well stocked, making our stay very comfortable. We were able to relax at our leisure with the private open-air bath and the indoor Sakakibara Onsen. Since there was no Wi-Fi in the Room, I rated the Facility 4 stars, but it turned out to be a good opportunity to put our phones away and unwind together as a family. Dinner was plentiful—featuring a boat platter of sea bream, spiny lobster, abalone, and amberjack, as well as wagyu beef grilled on a ceramic plate—and everything was delicious. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this Accommodation!

We stayed in a Superior Twin Room with a loft and a lake-side living area. The Room was spacious, and having a separate living area felt refreshing. The bed was very comfortable, and it was great that we could watch another TV from the bed. The meals were delicious and very generous in portion size. The grilled shabu-shabu with Japanese Black Wagyu beef and the salt-grilled nodoguro were especially tasty. The Onsen was also very relaxing. It would have been even better if there had been a sauna.

The views from the window—an unmanned station and the sea—were beautiful, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. Every dish was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab and shrimp. The Accommodation was quiet throughout, with a soothing atmosphere that made time feel as if it were gently passing by, allowing us to forget everyday life and truly unwind. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

We had a very comfortable stay. Thank you for kindly accommodating our request to change the time for the private bath, even at short notice. Everyone in the lobby, restaurants, and breakfast venue, as well as the staff in charge of our Room, provided attentive service. Both the meals and the baths were excellent.

We especially enjoyed the complimentary drink bar, which we could use freely; the selection changes between morning and evening, so there was plenty to choose from and we could relax and enjoy it. At dinner, we were surprised by the size of the abalone and truly enjoyed such a luxurious meal. Our whole family had another wonderful time and we were very satisfied.
