Located in the Kariya area of Ako City, where the charm of a historic castle town still remains, this property was established as a sister inn to Ako Onsen Shiosai Kirara Shokichi. Preserving as much as possible of buildings constructed during the Meiji and Taisho periods, we spent over a year renovating them with a focus on restoring them to their finest condition of the time. THE HIRAMATSU Kyoto was born on Muromachi Street in Nakagyo Ward, the heart of Kyoto—an area dotted with long-established shops and convenient for sightseeing. A traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse, steeped in the city’s history and culture, has been given new value and reborn as an urban luxury Hotel. The Hotel features a kappo restaurant and a restaurant, and offers 29 spacious guest rooms where you can relax despite being in the city center. The design was supervised by Nakamura Sotoji Komuten of Kyoto, renowned in Japan and abroad as a leading workshop for sukiya-style architecture.

Following the opening of “ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN Shinjuku” in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 2019, this is an Onsen Hotel Ryokan with open-air baths that opened in Sapporo, Hokkaido in August 2020. We offer an open-air Onsen bath supplied with hot spring water transported from the source at Karurusu Onsen (Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido), along with carefully selected ingredients from across Hokkaido. The concept of “ONSEN RYOKAN YUEN” is to “reimagine the essence of a Ryokan.” We refine the appeal of a Ryokan into spaces and services that are more accessible for urban travelers and international guests. Maruto Soy Sauce, Nara Prefecture’s oldest soy sauce brewery, has been reborn as a stayable soy sauce brewery.Founded in 1689, Maruto Soy Sauce was once purveyor to the Imperial Household—so esteemed that members of the Imperial Family even stayed here. After the war, however, the brewery was forced to close when it could no longer secure satisfactory ingredients. Narai-juku, with a 400-year history on the Nakasendo, remains as Japan's longest post town, preserving much of its original charm. Located at the midpoint of the 69 stations of the Nakasendo, this post town flourished with many travelers and was affectionately known as "Narai Senken." As we inherit four historical buildings as the Property BYAKU Narai, we have chosen not to give each building a new name. Instead, we decided to return to the "yago" (traditional house names) passed down from the Edo period, such as calling the sake brewery "Suginomori Shuzo," established in 1793 and a symbol of the town, "Toshiyoshiya." The 16 Rooms are unique and diverse, utilizing the structures of the four historical buildings, each with different layouts and purposes. Immerse yourself in spaces that embrace the historical architecture, and experience the history and countless stories these buildings have witnessed over time.
