My spouse and I stayed with our dog. There are only four Rooms where you can stay with a dog; the rest seem to be standard guest Rooms. The Room was properly cleaned and very tidy, with no pet odor. There is a large public bath on the 3rd floor and an observation bath on the 9th floor. The water was a little hot, but it felt wonderful—I used them five times in total. The meals were very delicious and generous in portion size, and I couldn’t finish all the rice, so they made it into rice balls for me, which I enjoyed later at night. All of the staff were very kind, and everything truly felt pleasant. I would definitely like to stay here again.

This was my first time visiting Zao Onsen. After considering several Onsen Accommodations, I chose a smaller Accommodation where I could truly relax. As I headed from Kaminoyama toward Zao, the temperature dropped, and after riding my motorcycle in the intense heat, the cool breeze felt wonderful. The Accommodation is an older building, but it was filled with many charming decorations that made me feel warm inside. The indoor Onsen was artificial, but it was pleasant and available 24 hours a day. Outside, in a separate building, there was a free-flowing hot spring bath fed directly from the source; it was strongly acidic and at a comfortable temperature, making it very enjoyable. Dinner dishes were all carefully prepared and included many local specialties from Yamagata Prefecture. It was great that each dish came with an explanation when served. The steamed dish in particular was outstanding. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of items, and I was very satisfied. All of the staff were kind and greeted us properly—I could really feel their hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

I stayed here for my younger sister’s birthday. The beef in the kaiseki course with Shinshu Premium Beef was very tender, and even when it cooled down, it didn’t feel heavy or greasy—absolutely delicious. All the other dishes were also excellent, and we were very satisfied. Perhaps because I mentioned the birthday in advance, we also received a surprise gift, which made us very happy. The Onsen was wonderful too, and my sister said it was a shame we only managed to use it twice. From the warm welcome on arrival to being seen off at departure, it felt heartfelt all the way through—not just a quick goodbye at the front desk. Thank you very much.

The room, with its white-based design and high ceiling, felt clean and relaxing with heated wooden flooring. The semi-open-air bath in the room was spacious, filled with plenty of silky smooth water. Having a water dispenser was also very convenient. Both dinner and breakfast were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making the experience truly delightful. The staff showed great care and attention to my elderly mother, allowing us to enjoy our stay with peace of mind. Thank you very much!

All the staff I interacted with (front desk, restaurant, and gift shop) had a great atmosphere—and their service was excellent as well. The food was delicious, and the all-you-can-drink plan included Sapporo beer. The Onsen was a comfortable size, and thanks to renovations a few years ago, the Room didn’t feel outdated at all. If I have the chance, I’d love to come again and stay here again.

It was a truly wonderful Hotel. The hot water was excellent, and I was very satisfied. One suggestion: it would be helpful to have a trash bin in the washing area of the bath. It was difficult to store amenities such as razors and toothbrushes. I would appreciate it if this could be improved. Also, I think the shop’s selection could be a bit more extensive. I would have been happy if there were some light snacks in the free drink corner.

My daughter and I stayed here together. We had a luggage issue before arriving at the Hotel and ended up arriving an hour late for dinner, but you kindly accommodated us, for which we are truly grateful. For the meal, although it was already past the time when it would normally have been served as a boxed meal, you were considerate enough to serve us as planned, and I was nearly moved to tears. Every dish was not only beautifully presented but also thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients and flavors that guests of any age can enjoy. The seasoning and portions were just right, and everything was truly delicious. We chose the plan with breakfast included, and it was very lavish—yet never heavy—and before we knew it, we had finished everything. The rice was especially delicious; my daughter and I even said afterward that we should have asked for seconds. The Onsen bath was very clean, and it felt so wonderful that we forgot all about the day’s troubles. We also used the open-air bath; since it was a full moon that night, we enjoyed a blissful time soaking while looking at the moon peeking through the trees. The Room was very spacious, with a Japanese-style room plus a separate bedroom with beds. It’s a layout where you can relax in comfort in the Japanese-style room and then sleep soundly in bed afterward—something guests of any age can enjoy. Above all else, every member of staff provided outstanding service. When we arrived at Kinugawa Onsen Station there were hardly any taxis available, and we were worried about whether we could reach the Hotel on foot along dark roads. You picked us up by car from the station, which helped us tremendously. You also drove us to the station again the next day—thank you so much. Thanks to you, we made our scheduled train on time. Your kindness in every respect truly moved us. There are many Ryokan out there and we have stayed at several before, but this is a Hotel where we were satisfied with everything: staff service, cuisine, baths, and Rooms. This time it was only one night because there were other places we wanted to visit as well; however, if we travel to the Nikko area again next time, we will definitely choose this Hotel. And since we had your wonderful food rather hurriedly this time due to our late arrival (laugh), next time I’d like to arrive on schedule and savor each dish more slowly. We sincerely appreciate all your kindness. Thank you very much. We look forward to staying with you again in the future.

I first stayed here last November and gave it a perfect score, and this time as well—it’s another perfect score. Above all, the Onsen (milky white sulfur spring) is outstanding. You’ll want to soak again and again. The men’s bath is compact with three washing stations, so it may feel a bit crowded when the Hotel is fully booked, but even so, it has a charm that makes you want to come back. Dinner and breakfast were also excellent—no complaints at all. There is a menu provided, but considering the price, it’s reasonable that the meal is set out on the table from the start. Try to be seated early if possible. The front desk staff and serving staff are very dog-friendly and wonderful. This time I used a Japanese-style Room, and they had prepared simple square mats so dogs wouldn’t slip on the wooden floor area; their thoughtful consideration—making them available as needed—was truly impressive. If I had one request for improvement: the wooden gate at the entrance to the outdoor dog run was partially rotted and starting to break, so I’d be happy if it could be repaired. Even with that, this is a Hotel worthy of a perfect score. I’ll be planning another stay, and I look forward to visiting again then.

The hospitality was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently attentive. Especially at checkout, they even wiped the car windows. It had rained the night before, so the windows may have been dirty, but this was the first time anyone has ever done that for me—I was truly impressed. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were very satisfying. Dinner featured a duck hot pot as the main dish, along with plenty of extras such as sashimi and Kasumi crab (benizuwai crab). Everything was delicious. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the Ryokan’s bath is small and it’s a bit away from the center of town. Personally, I enjoyed walking around while exploring and visiting different public baths, and they also said they could drive guests there upon request. As for the small bath at the Ryokan, I think it works well if you make use of the public baths too while still enjoying what’s available on-site. I would definitely like to stay again. I was able to relax from arrival to departure! The open-air Onsen bath was amazing, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious—making for a truly happy stay. The river flowing past the lobby and visible from the Room, along with the lush green trees, was incredibly beautiful, letting you fully enjoy summer in the mountains. One drawback is that because it is built along the riverbank, getting up and down can be difficult. There is no elevator, so all movement is by stairs. In particular, the stairs down to the first floor are quite narrow and steep (though you likely won’t need to move around inside the Hotel very often). Also, precisely because the Onsen is so wonderful, you’ll want to soak many times—but despite that, the bath towels were thin and there were no bathrobes. Very disappointing! With such a great Onsen, I wish they would make it easier to fully enjoy it! That said, overall it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely like to visit again.

I stayed with my 84-year-old mother. Using the large public bath would have been difficult for her, so we chose a Room with a private Onsen. The meals were very delicious, and the staff who served us were extremely courteous, so we were very satisfied. The in-room Onsen was also excellent. We also enjoyed the Facility services such as sweets and drinks, and in the morning we appreciated the fruit and yogurt as well. We knew from the start, but the stairs and getting around were challenging. Also, depending on the person, the front desk staff did not feel very welcoming.

I stayed for one night on September 4. Due to the typhoon, it rained all day, but I was extremely satisfied with everything—the convenient location near the station, the Onsen, the guest room (2F Japanese-modern style), the meals, and the service. The other guests staying that day also had a refined atmosphere. A good Hotel really is good. I usually only travel on a budget, so this was quite a culture shock for me. I will definitely return, and I’d like to try other Forest Resort affiliated Hotels as well.

All staff members who supported us were incredibly hospitable, and it made our trip truly wonderful. Our whole family was very satisfied—thank you! The facilities were up to date, and the security was excellent. The Ryokan was also very clean and hygienic. Both dinner and breakfast were delicately and elegantly seasoned, everything was fresh, and we enjoyed every dish—it was all delicious. This is a Hotel we would definitely want to stay at again! Thank you very much for your hospitality. This was our first family trip since losing our beloved dog, and we traveled with my elderly parents who have difficulty walking. I thought it might feel a bit sad, but everyone was so kind and had such wonderful smiles that it became a truly enjoyable trip! Our dog’s name was also Fuji, so it felt like we were meant to be here. My parents were also happy that, thanks to the walking support cart, they could choose their own dishes at the buffet. Every dish was amazing—beautifully presented and delicious. The meat was tender as well, and everyone loved it. We also enjoyed the water bar, the old-fashioned game arcade, and the souvenir shop! The bath was spacious and great, but there weren’t many handrails, so my mother seemed a little uneasy. Still, it felt wonderful. The Room was of course clean and very comfortable. We went to the pool area to take photos, and I thought it was a pleasant place for a walk. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

On a friend’s recommendation, I stayed here. They told me, “If you’re going to Shiretoko, you have to stay here,” and I didn’t really get it at first—but once I arrived, I understood how wonderful this Hotel is. First of all, the parking lot is close by. It may seem minor, but when you’re carrying travel luggage, it’s absolutely essential. Then there’s the entrance and the spacious interior with a view of Shiretoko’s harbor in the distance—it immediately got me excited. After settling into my Room, I explored the property. I enjoyed the all-inclusive snacks and wine that I’d been looking forward to. Some places offer mediocre drinks and snacks—but not here. Every single item was delicious. Not wanting to overdo it and ruin dinner, I kept it reasonable… and then came dinner. I went in without doing any research beforehand—amazing, delicious, all-you-can-eat, and impossible to try everything. Each dish was exceptionally well made. I’ve been to many all-inclusive places before, but this one has become a favorite. I also really enjoyed both the baths and breakfast. And I had the chance to fully appreciate the sound from the Paragon speakers as well. The next day, I planned to go whale watching in Rausu, but it was canceled due to rough seas. Still—I’m determined to come back for a retry in Shiretoko. When I do, I’ll definitely stop by again. Thank you very much.

Although it was the cheapest Plan, the Room was spacious and clean, and the half-buffet meals were very filling. Since there are many international guests, I wished there had been bread at breakfast—this was the only downside—but otherwise the staff were kind and I was very satisfied. Next time, I’d like to stay in a Room with a private open-air bath.

We made a last-minute Reservation to celebrate a birthday. Due to worsening weather in Tokyo, we had to change our celebration Plan at the last minute, and while searching in Hakone, we found this Accommodation. Unlike other Accommodations, many of the staff here were young yet highly professional, and their service was truly pleasant. We couldn’t finish the celebratory fruit platter at dinner, and we really appreciated that you arranged for us to enjoy it in our Room. Thank you very much. The Room was clean and quiet, and we would love to visit again!

The weather wasn’t great, but the view from the window was wonderful, and I had a comfortable stay. The meals looked beautiful and tasted great, and I really enjoyed them. I was surprised by the afternoon-tea-style presentation. Towels are provided at the Onsen, so you can go without bringing anything. You can wear the samue anywhere in the building, which makes it very relaxing. The samue is comfortable to wear, and it has pockets so you can carry your phone with you.

The male front desk staff member was wonderful, and it made me very happy. When I asked a question, he responded with far more flexibility than I expected, which truly impressed me. Thank you very much. He also listened to my conversation with my parents and kindly informed us of the bus schedule without us even having to ask—his thoughtful attention was very pleasant. Thank you for taking care of us during our stay. Dinner was served at a fast pace, so it felt a bit rushed. Since we had the earliest time slot and other guests were coming in afterward, I understand it couldn’t be helped.

I made the mistake of thinking I had booked the same Room as before, not realizing it had been completely renovated, and only noticed after entering. I hadn’t read the description carefully enough. It was my first time using a daybed, but it felt modern, and I’m satisfied with it in its own way. As for the in-room bath, last time it rained and we got caught in the rain while using the open-air bath, but this time it felt easier to use than before. However, adjusting the temperature is still a bit tricky. The meals were just as satisfying as before in both portion size and taste. Last time, simmered golden eye snapper was served at the end when I was already very full, so I couldn’t finish it, but this time it was served midway through and I was able to eat everything. That said, the seasoning of the spiny lobster dish didn’t quite suit two elderly guests like us. It felt overly elaborate and seemed to mask the lobster’s natural flavor. For us, something simpler like sashimi or simply grilled would have been better. Our attendant was a foreign national and did their best to explain each dish clearly, which we appreciated; casual conversation might be difficult though. It seems that staffing shortages have reached Hotels as well. We were impressed that you greeted us right as we drove in upon arrival and saw us off at departure—service that remained just as attentive as last time. If we have another chance to visit Izu, we would like to stay with you again. Thank you very much.
