Over time, this building, cherished by the local community, underwent transformations, becoming "Fuji Bank" and later "HOTEL NEW HAKODATE." Now, preserving its original charm, it has been reborn alongside the neighboring building as "HakoBA Hakodate." Just as this area once embraced foreign cultures during the era of Japan's opening to the world, we welcome guests from across the globe here, fostering new connections and weaving the future history of Hakodate.

A serviced apartment that makes use of the early Showa-era historic atmosphere of the Takashimaya East Annex, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, together with the appeal of the Citadines brand. The Art Deco exterior creates a glamorous impression, while the distinctive entrance preserves original historic details and cobblestones on the first floor. The high-ceilinged lobby and each guest Room also make full use of the building’s unique character. Large windows and distinctive columns in your Room let you feel close to history, while a modern design with warm wood tones provides a relaxing stay.

Although it is a Machiya-style studio type, it is equipped with functional facilities and amenities. The studio type, with its simple design and comfortable space, will help relieve travel fatigue. Additionally, the tasteful space, water facilities, air conditioning, and linens provide comfort.

The main building, a three-story wooden structure originally built in 1928, underwent renovation along with the construction of a new bathhouse wing over the course of a year, and reopened in April 2020. While preserving the charm of the early Showa era, the space has been transformed into a more comfortable and atmospheric environment. With the concept of "Staying with Time," we have carefully crafted the Property using natural materials that age gracefully over time, aiming for simplicity and quality, and paying attention to every detail. Although there are no picturesque Onsen towns or breathtaking views, we believe you will feel the accumulation of time and the beauty of a traditional inn in the space that retains its historical essence. Auberge Hanaki is a culinary Ryokan located in Izu-Ito Onsen, exclusively accommodating two groups per day.
