The port town of Onomichi, which has flourished in the maritime industry since the Middle Ages, has developed a unique culture through the exchange of numerous people, goods, and wealth. This "miniature garden-like city" woven by the sea, mountains, and islands is a place where you can enjoy the "bounty of the mountains and sea," including seafood from the Seto Inland Sea such as oysters, local vegetables grown in the warm climate, and seasonal fruits.[Onomichi Hansei] is a small inn with a restaurant that inherits over 250 years of history, featuring 13 rooms. It is a renewed version of the restaurant [Tohan], which originated from the culinary inn [Ehan] loved by late Edo period patriots and Hirobumi Ito. We have created a stay where you can feel close to the "traditions and food culture of Onomichi" while being inside the facility, starting with the "cuisine showcased by the small inn with a restaurant" that inherits the history of the former restaurant. The concept of [Onomichi Hansei] is "Heartful, Japanese Modern Classic." We offer hospitality with services that mainly delight female guests, incorporating a "Japanese Modern Classic" taste into the interior decorations and room designs.

Despite this loss, with encouragement from numerous supporters, we are proud to announce its revival as the new "Matsusho-so" on March 1, 2024. The building incorporates design elements of the original Matsusho-so while embracing traditional Sukiya architecture that harmonizes with nature. Each room features a private open-air bath overlooking a small garden where guests can enjoy seasonal landscapes. We have created a space that feels "new yet somehow nostalgic." Bousui is located in Kitagawa Onsen on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula. True to its name, the breathtaking views overlooking Sagami Bay reveal the grandeur of each season and bring a sense of calm to every traveler. About 100 meters from the Facility, right by the shoreline, you will find Kuroneiwa Bath, one of the very few seaside open-air baths in The whole country. The sunrise seen from this open-air bath is truly exceptional. In addition, Bousui offers private gazebos where you can enjoy sweeping ocean views as if they were yours alone—an experience unique to Bousui.
