I stayed here after being captivated by the night-view photos of the Onsen. Since this was a family trip with small children, I wasn’t expecting a luxury Ryokan, but because it’s located where you can take in a sweeping view of Toyama City (and even across to Imizu City), I never got tired of the scenery—sunrise, sunset, and night. Honestly, this location is truly one of a kind and priceless; it was far better than staying at some mediocre high-end Ryokan. I’ll upload my clumsy photos, but in person it’s 10 or 20 times more impressive. On the way to the Onsen there is a corridor explaining the history of the Kureha Hills, and I could really feel how much care and affection the staff have for this place and for this Hotel. The Facility is certainly Showa-era in style, but that actually made me feel even more attached to it. I felt genuinely happy to have discovered—and stayed at—this kind of Hotel. I also want to mention the breakfast buffet. Above all, I was amazed at how delicious the rice was. That wonderful white rice with miso soup and grilled fish in the morning—along with sides like okra and vinegared dishes—was something I truly enjoyed. Depending on where you’re going, if you plan to visit Toyama City or nearby Imizu City or Takaoka City, this is definitely a great choice. My kids absolutely loved Kodomo Mirai-kan at Taikoyama Land, so we’ll probably go back to Toyama next year—and when we do, I definitely want to stay at this Hotel again. Thank you very much to all of your staff.

I had long wanted to stay at your inn, well known as a famous matsutake-producing area and featured many times on TV. Thanks to the Iwate Wari discount that went on sale on 9/1, we received a 7,000 yen per person discount, and combined it with an additional Yahoo Travel discount, so we were able to stay at a great price. This was a small trip for a couple in our early 60s whose four daughters are already independent. The building showed its age, but it was well cleaned and never felt unpleasant. The bath wasn’t a hot spring, but the water—further filtered from Ryusendo’s water—felt wonderful; I soaked three times during our stay. The meal we’d been looking forward to was an incredible amount. The main matsutake sukiyaki was outstanding, full of rich matsutake aroma and absolutely delicious. The appetizer included matsutake nigiri sushi and even pre-dinner matsutake sake—both very distinctive. There were also seafood such as hoya (sea squirt) and sashimi; rare delicacies like manbo (sunfish) sashimi and kowada; two small mountain-vegetable side dishes; then came matsutake chawanmushi, followed by dobin-mushi—and just when we were already full, matsutake soba arrived. That finished us off. Finally there was matsutake kamameshi rice and dessert—the fragrance of the matsutake from the pot rice was amazing. Still… we couldn’t finish everything. When that happened, the attendant kindly brought plastic wrap for us. We ended up taking it home and having it for dinner the next day as well. Thank you for the wonderful feast. There were quite a few guests, so the dining area was crowded. Even so—though I felt a bit bad asking—I requested a photo with my wife, and they happily agreed. Thank you! We’d love to come again next year—hopefully with discounts available again ( ´∀` ).

We stayed with our 3-year-old child. Since we were in the LOCA THE CLASS Room, there was a sauna in the basement and a large bath that could fit about 4–5 people. Including the post-bath relaxation area, it was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was great that even with a child, we could bathe comfortably. There was also a refrigerator in the changing room, stocked with plenty of bottled water. It was very helpful to be able to drink cold water immediately after bathing or using the sauna without having to go up to the living room on the first floor. We didn’t use them, but there were also powdered drinks provided for before and after the sauna. The living room was spacious as well, and there were two bedrooms. The Japanese-style Room had a tatami area that became almost full once two futons were laid out, which made it feel safe and comfortable for our child at bedtime. On the other hand, there was one disappointing incident during our stay. Early in the morning, the fire alarm suddenly went off with a loud siren throughout the Accommodation. We were later told it was due to an accidental operation in another Room, but it took about an hour for security staff to check and reset everything. During that time, the alarm kept sounding continuously, so we evacuated with our child to a relatively quiet terrace. Afterward, an operator contacted us to confirm what had happened and asked whether we would still be able to make checkout on time. Since it overlapped with breakfast and getting ready in the morning, we explained it would be difficult and they extended our checkout by about 30 minutes. We appreciate their consideration; however, we had hoped to spend a relaxing morning (including enjoying another bath), so that part was unfortunate. I also saw other Reviews on different sites mentioning issues related to fire alarms. As it seems many guests come from overseas as well, I would appreciate it if you could consider measures to prevent recurrence—such as providing clearer instructions at check-in on how to handle fire alarms. Overall, both the Facility and Room itself were extremely comfortable—this is a wonderful Accommodation that is easy for families to enjoy.
